I don't get this place. I've been here two times and every time I didn't feel Welcomed (neither did my friends). They seemingly have a philosophy but it doesn't actually involves you as a guest. I don't remember when is the last time I heard so many no's from a restaurant. Can the food be a bit slower? No, the kitchen has schedule. Can we get some snacks or extra dessert with coffee? No, this is all we have. If we really don't like the wine, can we exchange it? No, that's not possible. Can we pay at the table? No, you have to come to the cash register. Did they forget this is a service industry? I appreciate having a concept but you have to bring your guests along. Soms of the staff (wine person) is enthusiastic about what they do but overall, I have no desire to visit them a third time. A guest should feel Welcomed when they visit your restaurant and not feel like they are accommodating the rules of the pretentious management. This btw has nothing to do with the food, which was good, although they didn't skip to mention they are accommodating our veggie option (although it was available upon booking) as well as repeatedly serving our dishes as a double portion plus 1 (we were with 3 people), although we didn't necessarily wanted to share it that way. I left feeling like I left my money to a place that couldn't care less about my experience and that is not what a restaurant should be.

Stopped in here on a recommendation for dinner one night. Was able to reserve a table on the way. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty dishes. We really enjoyed the vinyl being played from their custom sound system. Still talk about this place over a year later - If you are in Amsterdam you must go here!

The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy. And the service was great!

It wasn't the experience you'd expect... Food was brought out prematurely while you were still finishing the previous dish, leaving your next dish incredibly cold. Fish was cold, as was lamb. Lamb was incredibly red and tough (lamb is always tough, but not this bad). Dessert was tasty but I wouldn't have it again. Too bad... but the atmosphere was nice.

I recommend the “pairing”. On the night I was there it included two sakes as well as wine. None were things I would have known or thought of buying, so it was great to be introduced to new things.

Nico our waiter provided us exceptionally helpful, laid back, and friendly service. Awesome guy! The food was tasty beyond our expectations and the vibes were all-round great!

Loved the ambiance and the atmosphere, service is a little slow but the staff is very friendly and kind. The food can be a little unique and personal. I loved most of the courses but some of my friends weren’t big fans. The dessert course however was a massive hit.

Love love love cornerstore. One of the few places that does Asian fusion RIGHT and in an interesting, culinary way, instead of just throwing kimchi on something that doesn’t need it and calling it a day. Tasting menu is always changing but the tempura vegetable starter is always so delicate and tasty, and I still think about the barbecued pork dish with langoustine sambal I had here back in the summer. Divine!

The food is amazing and the natural wine selections are great too, the ambience and music makes it a good choice for a lovely evening.

What delicious food! And the staff are all so friendly. It's a relaxing space. The music is a bit too loud, and the ventilation isn't working perfectly, but the service and the food quickly make you forget about that.

We had the vegetarian dinner, which was surprising, delicious and good-looking. We were the very first guests to arrive, but later the room filled up with other guests, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Everything about the evening was great: the friendly staff, the wonderful food, the wines and the decor. Would definitely return!

Another great evening at Cornerstore! The creativity of the dishes- and drinks- doesn't stop amazing me after by now multiple visits... and the vibe is great. Lovely and knowledgeable staff. I can highly recommend Cornerstore!

We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed an even better wine/sake pairing! Surprising flavors, and the staff was okay/great. Still, we went home hungry. Here too, carbohydrates are clearly secondary. Combined with the fantastic pairing, a more substantial menu would have worked better for me.

Amazing food and super friendly staff!

We had a vegetarian menu and two meat/fish menus (both menus share several dishes). The food was delicious, Asian-inspired, quite spicy, and with a certain emphasis on vegetables, which was appreciated :) Natural wines. The atmosphere was simple but very warm, with carefully crafted lighting that changes with the weather. Very friendly and efficient staff. The only downside is the location, which is far from everything and in a rather unappealing area.

Surprising dishes made with delicious ingredients. It's always a surprise. So incredibly delicious! My compliments, I'd love to come back!

The place is very nice, the menu is original but a bit pricey. It's not mentioned that most of the dishes are spicy.

Sat on the terrace for 10 minutes. The staff looks at you but doesn't help.

The wait staff was clueless, and kept brining us other people’s dishes. They perhaps were new, but it really put a damper on our anniversary dinner. The food itself was mediocre, not sure it’s worth the money. The ambiance was the best part. But the other things made the experience had to justify the cost.

We feel scammed :/ My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to trying Corner Store as it was highly recommended. However, we were thoroughly disappointed. Paid an expensive prefix for two, but we were served as though we were one. Preposterous portions. Cool concept, lovely atmosphere but I just felt I needed to provide a heads up on what to expect. Also noted a nut allergy and she still got sick after the meal, really unfortunate.

It's beautiful, decorated with great style and taste. The food isn't that demanding or original. It's still worth booking.

A disappointing experience to say the least. We went with my partner for our anniversary, mostly because we were sold on their wall of records. Which was kinda the only thing that was tasteful. Their course menu was definitely small, and honestly there was no thoughtfulness whatsoever in the food. Blunt tasted and no inspiration. The fried crab barely had any meat, the tomato dish was literally a plain tomato dish, the pork neck kind of smelled and was really not beautifully presented as you would expect. Now the service, was a joke. Waitresses carrying dishes all night long like they were lost in space, not knowing where each order goes, asking us and other customers if it’s for them, and shamelessly saying that they don’t really know what is that they are serving. Honestly the place feels like the hipster paradise where looks and hype is more important than substance. I would not go back.

As it was a interesting journey for your taste buds this is recommended for every person, also the non-vegetarians. Also amazing setting with a DJ popping on Saturday with a slow mellow background vibe. Would definitely come back here!

Arrogant, worthless manager. Too bad, because the service is fantastic and the food is also great. A waste of such a restaurant. According to the manager, the guest is less important than the DJ. Even though the music sounds like a printed receipt. Even after asking if maybe another song could be put on, the answer was no and the gentleman walked away. Reason or reasoning leave much to be desired with the best gentleman. Unfortunately.

We made a reservation at 8:15 but had to wait almost an hour for our table outside, where it was cold and windy. Service was slow and food took ages to arrive. Wine was overpriced for what it was. Most importantly the music is WAY too loud - we could not hear ourselves think or have meaningful conversations. They also placed us at the epicenter of the speakers. The food was slow to arrive with pretty small portions for the price but it was tasty - though not spectacular. My chicken, unfortunately, was dry. The fish was very good though. Charged an arm and a leg for two slices of bread cut in half, which we ordered a portion of because the food took for ever to arrive and it was already 10PM and we were hungry - we felt manipulated into paying for bread and wine while waiting for our table and food because the service was so slow. Waiters were nice, but experience was not good. Would not recommend this for groups

Had a truly great time. The tasting menu is excellent (who knew chicken could taste like THAT), great wines and atmosphere, and the staff was absolutely lovely.

Super cool dining experience. The only negative for us was that we were too early for the vinyl DJ experience (kicks off at 20:30).

We went for the 7 course menu with the meat and fish. Every dish was a delight and carefully prepared. The main dishes were delicious. The natural wine collection also didn’t disappoint, although could have a few more options.

Came here mostly for the venue and music which indeed were great, but were amazed also by the taste of the various dishes. We got the menu and everything was impeccable, congrats to the chef and the team. Prices were reasonable. Wines and drinks were also very nice, most definitely recommend!

Service is not always consistent, but often friendly and attentive. Vegan options are also very good! 4 stars due to the combination of price/quality and some appetite afterwards.

This place is a little gem of unusual, but delicious, surprises. The space is cool, in a welcoming and unpretentious way. The knowledgeable staff were kind, professional and friendly, helping me navigate the menu, sake choices and in keeping the music playing from the carefully curated vinyl collection behind the bar. After a long working trip, visiting Cornerstore for a last dinner in Amsterdam felt like an indulgent treat with no guilty feeling the next day. My food was light on the stomach and rich on the senses, leaving me feeling completely satisfied but not overfull. A place I am looking forward to visiting again.

It was our last dinner before we headed back home from or holiday travel. It hit on every level…ambiance, friendly and engaging staff, incredible food (with fantastic suggestions/recommendations), the music was hand picked and spinning from vinyl on turntables behind the bar. We couldn't stop talking about it after the meal, largely because it was perfect. I will 100% return again in the future. I would encourage anyone to make a reservation… this place will eventually become impossible to get a reservation.

Newcomers, listen, I have to admit, from outside, the location seems to be a bit strange because of graffiti. Furthermore, the locked frontdoor and a missing lable is a statement. But: once you made it into the Cornerstore ("CS") - through the side entrance - the overall impression changes completely. While a DJ creates a vibrant atmosphere, the staff appears extremely professional and kind, of course multiple language skilled. The one page menu and the options will be explained once you settled down and drinks are served immediately. Our group went for the vegatarian menu "for two". All in all we really enjoyed the stay with delicious food variations in the CS. It was a real "Amsterdam experience" to remember. To us, CS is the perfect place for open minded visitors from all over and we would like to come again as soon as possible.

Very pretentious with no intention or focus on the actual food. Also, very little food (6 of us were given 5 portions of food to share, even though each of us ordered the full tasting menu) and most of the food was quite bland for the high prices you pay. 1 star for the brioche and butter, but otherwise, it's just a venue trying to appear cool and trendy, with no effort on the food and drinks.

We booked before going and went to that place on friend recommendation. That was really nice. Super yummy food and great ambiance with a DJ playing background sound. We chose the menu for 2 and there was plenty and it was delicious. I definitely recommend that place!

Really enjoyed the place, very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was excellent both times I went, refreshing menu with combinations I haven’t had before.

I have dined at cornerstore twice and was 10/10 both times. Most recently for their Sunday special meal. We ate their "chinese burger" and it was amazingggggggggggggggggg. I am sad that they aren't open and serving it 24/7 so that I can eat it for all my meals.

Honestly I love this place! The decor is amazing, very minimal with artsy touches. But the food really stole the show. The portions are small but totally worth it.

A tip/warning; check the opening hours! We had made a reservation at half past seven and that turned out to be the opening time. We walked in unsuspectingly at 10 past 6, but were sent back into the cold without any apologies. 😲 Even though we indicated that we did not have to order anything yet, but just wanted to wait somewhere warm. We were referred to the Ceuvel. How I would have loved to stay there, because I am very enthusiastic about their food, atmosphere and service. About the rest of the experience at CS; There were very tasty dishes and they did their best to make as much vegan as possible. I really appreciate that. However, I sometimes found it a bit of a hassle dividing the dishes (with already used cutlery). Furthermore, you get a 'special' mix of flavors, because you eat all dishes, except dessert, on the same plate. And I was just satisfied because we had also ordered brioche from the recommended menu and because I had eaten so much rice to extinguish the spicy sauce. In other words, in my opinion it could have been great with a few adjustments.

Only had some sake but the staff were very knowledgeable about all the products there.

This place is one of my newly discovered favorites!! The food was absolutely incredible, the service was great - they explained the dishes well and were very friendly. The restaurant does get a bit hot inside and towards the end of the night it was hard to make contact with a waiter to place a follow up order of filter coffee (which is insanely good there btw!), but all in all, a great place!

Super fun concept with Japanese influences. Very innovative dishes and great service. Would definitely recommend and it's well priced. Also very nice to have a drink at the bar with the DJ after dinner. There was sometimes little time between courses and it sometimes felt a bit rushed, but we were not chased away for a time slot (which you often see in Amsterdam).

We always walked past this little gem and saw the nice lighting and sometimes a dj playing music, and then finally we had the time to try it out. It’s just been a few weeks since we were there and I’ve already made another reservation again. cornerstore is just amazing. The food, the vibe, the service. All of it was seriously top notch. The food is creative and unbelievably flavorful. We had some of the best oysters ever here, better than at some michelin star restaurants. Their take on ceviche was mindblowing. The fried cauliflower is pickled first and you could taste it, so good. All in all, amazing and super comforting flavors. I’ve never had creative dining experiences that made me feel so cozy and comfortable. And tbh, cs is basically fine-dining without the price tag. Its not cheap but you get an insane value for your money. I mean 50€ for 5 courses is just really fair for Amsterdam. thats what makes cs great. It’s unpretentious, and it’s super good. I wish I had tried it a little sooner. Try it out. I will go again for sure.

I wish I could give 6 out of 5 stars! I attended a corporate dinner and everything from the attention to the music and the set-up to the delicious food and care from the staff was top notch. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who is considering event venues! Phenomenal!

becoming one of my favourite restaurants especially as they have (also) excellent for plant based food (I should say that I was there before and while I really liked something about this last time I wasn't convinced by some aspects of the food and the service which was really arrogant back then. This seems to have changed, we had fantastic service from super nice staff, and outstanding food this time. Glad I came back).

The food was absolutely delicious. We had the beef cheek and the courgette, both of which were nothing short of extraordinary. They have an extensive collection of natural wines, and the cocktails were top-notch as well. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, providing some of the best service I've ever experienced in Amsterdam. There's a DJ booth, clearly put together by someone with a deep passion for music and sound quality. If you love vinyl or are an audiophile, it's worth visiting just to experience their amazing vintage speakers. The music was carefully selected and never too loud, and reminded me of a Japanese listening bar. It's obvious that Cornerstore is run with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every guest has a great time.
