The coffee was cold, the herb butter was almost frozen and unspreadable. The ham and cheese on my sandwich were the cheapest kind and not tasty. The sandwich was tough and had just come out of the refrigerator. Inside, it smelled of sewage, which wasn't very pleasant to eat with. A waste of our money, absolutely not recommended.

Quiet and cozy. Nice background music, delicious food, and friendly service.

Bonus points for the stew and the friendliness. Bad points for the decor, which is eclectic, looks cheap, and isn't very inviting. We went there through a Social Deal. We had a cheese croquette as a starter, which was tasty, but served rather basic. We had the stew for the main course, which gets bonus points for its tenderness and especially the flavor of the sauce. I'd say go for the stew menu; with a Social Deal, you pay more for the same thing.

We had a delicious meal, the service was excellent! The food was very good and fresh, the homemade tartar sauce is definitely recommended, and the price-quality ratio is excellent.

Delicious food at very reasonable prices! Friendly service and unlimited ribs or mussels. The only drawbacks were the smell from the toilet if the door was left open and the occasional bit of sand in the mussels. Overall, definitely recommended!

Cote D’Azur in Sluis is a lovely spot to enjoy a nice meal, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing break in the middle of exploring the town. The restaurant is situated in a great location, surrounded by charming streets and a lively atmosphere, which makes it a perfect place to stop by after walking around or shopping nearby.

What a fantastic restaurant this is! I ordered a cup of soup and it was served with bread. Then my schnitzel was pulled out to my table. Wow, what a fantastic chef works at this restaurant! IT WAS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! MY WIFE ORDERED A MUSSEL PAN, and my wife said, "I've never had such delicious mussels." I highly recommend eating at this restaurant. You don't go there for the atmosphere. But their food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the portions are ample. Service is quick.

We had a wonderful meal! We enjoyed the mussel menu. The garlic shrimp starter was excellent, and the mussel pans were generously filled. When we tried to pay with our dinner gift voucher, we were told that a maximum of €20 per person would be debited from the voucher; we would have to pay the rest ourselves. After I asked where these terms and conditions could be found, I called the manager, and it was possible to pay the full amount with the dinner gift voucher. It's great that it was resolved this way, but it feels a bit strange having to say something about this first... The waiters were incredibly friendly and helpful!

This is simply a tourist trap, and the service is rude. Fries arrived as a side order 20 minutes after I'd received the incredibly tough and undercooked steak, which I'd had to wait several times and complain about. The pepper sauce was appropriately bland, but at least it was served with the shoe sole. The mussels, in contrast, were simply good, but they didn't improve the overall bad impression. We never received the accompanying fries. When paying, I demanded a price adjustment. Of course, this wasn't granted, at first. I gave the rude waiter a few minutes to either be accommodating or call the police, as he threatened, or I'd leave without paying. We then came to an agreement. Other guests felt the same way, and we weren't the only dissatisfied guests.

This restaurant is not recommended. We drank two Jupiler beers which weren't well chilled, the Coke was ok. We ordered one schnitzel with fries and one mussels in white wine sauce with fries. First came the schnitzel without fries. The schnitzel was small and a ready-made schnitzel. A disgrace for 19.95, it doesn't have to be big but it was fresh. Then came the mussels (the schnitzel had already been eaten) which were fresh and delicious. We asked straight away how many fries were left. "Coming right away" half the mussels were gone. The people at the next table also had problems with their food. They got the fries at the same time as they paid. The next table gave us some as a gift because the couple had left and with the words "If you don't get any fries, take ours, we're leaving now" Absolutely miserable. We asked twice more and the waiter was a disaster and acted as if he didn't understand us. No fries, and we didn't get them for either dish, despite asking and asking. Please eat somewhere else... The owner really needs to take action 🙏 I don't understand the good reviews, but perhaps a change in staff is the reason for the bad ratings??? Friendliness is free, but you won't find it in this restaurant.

You order a dish and are asked what sauce you want. I later saw on the bill that a small bowl of sauce costs €4.50 extra, and the sparkling water was also very expensive. The salmon was decent, but the medium steak was rare and had to be re-cooked. Not really satisfied.

Booked via social deal on the warm sunny day we were forced to sit inside while there was enough space outside and it was not busy at all in Sluis. Never experienced this before!! Staff and food were good but I am not happy with the boss who did not have the courage to explain to us personally why we had to sit inside. Good thing the waiter said that the boss has another shop a little further so we know where we definitely should not be anymore...

Food was not fresh. Which is important with fish. Ordered fish stew but seemed more like a mess with some fish in it. From the freezer into the oven. Service was also not your thing.

Whenever we visit Sluis, we always come here to eat. The service is great, the people are so friendly. It is pleasant to dine here. The food is very tasty. Basic but tasty. Definitely worth visiting this place when you are in Sluis.

We had made a reservation but when we arrived that evening it was closed. However, I had received confirmation twice that they were expecting us. Very unfortunate, but then I spent my money elsewhere and so I will never come here again.

Heel vriendelijke bediening van de jongens maar het eten trok op niets! Witte wijn was slechte zure smaak, de mosselen moest ik in de pot zoeken: veel lege schelpen en minuscuul, gemiddeld 1cm groot. Ik meldde dit en kreeg onmiddellijk een andere mosselpot met 6 iets grotere mossels bovenop met opnieuw heel kleine smaakloze mosseltjes eronder en weeral met héél weinig jus. Echt schandalig voor zo’n dure prijs! 27€?? Het vispannetje was ook pover, niet vers en te weinig! De frieten waren niet vers en ook smakeloos. Absoluut geen aanrader!

Your shrimp croquettes are not lacking in taste! The service is top notch, we let you eat at your ease while remaining attentive.

Food was "ok" not wow. Halk Kip, very dry. Chips overcooked, some recooked. Tagliatelle with ham was obvious packet food. Never had prawns with curry soices before. We had a social deal hence going in but would not go there for a meal out. Food overall over cooked and no wow about it. The Dame Blanche was a real joke....sorry but the 2 little scoops and chocolate squirt was somewhat funny. Check.put the banana split, sorry but that was an insult to deserts. I didn't take photos as it was not worth the hassle if honest. Over all not a place I will visit again with the family of 8.

Delicious fresh pancake and poffertjes

Een plaats om nooit meer terug te komen. Hadden gegrilde zalm besteld, hebben stuk zalm gekregen dat in frituur was gegooid, zag er zeer onsmakelijk uit, binnenin nog volledig rauw en met een eigenaardige smaak. Voor de saus moesten we nog 5,50 bij betalen, een klein potje mayonnaise was ook nog 1,5 euro bij. Alles niet aangekondigd, onze vis van 21 euro kwam daardoor vlug op 28 euro en was niet te eten. Bij vraag om uitleg omtrent de bakwijze afwijzende houding van ik weet niet hoe de keuken werkt. Komen hier nooit meer binnen!

Varkenshaas bleek cotelet te zijn met volop vet en harde stukken teruggegeven, geen sfeer ook in het restaurant, alles duurde erg lang ivm nakijken of de restaurant kado card wel gebruikt kan worden, dit staat op de website!langs 4 personen om na te vragen en te checken en bon alvast apart gehouden na eerst te hebben gevraagd hoeveel erop staat,

Cola 3,95 euro. Mossels warm de bovenste toch, na enkele, waren ze koud . Heel duur , nooit meer. Sluis gaat er achteruit .

Was meer dan verschoten als ik de rekening kreeg, een rekening van €59,65 voor een pannenkoek, poffertjes is er echt wel over...we bestelden voor de kinderen plat water en ze brachten 2 flessen van 300ml zelf opgevulde flessen...€6,95/fl, een koffie €3,95..., Cola €3,95...en nee ik ben geen muggenzifter maar dit is er wel over. Ze staan direct bij jou om op te nemen en je hebt zelfs geen tijd om op je gemak de kaart te bekijken. Ivm de prijs waren precies echt aan de Cote Azur en dan nog...!

We will never come back here again! Scampis are out of order and not cleaned sufficiently. Do not eat sauce. An ordinary schnitzel that you can still kill, not fresh and very greasy. Warm aperitif, ice cubes apparently never heard of it 😞definitely not recommended!!

Went for lunch today for the first time and it was so tasty and the service was friendly And we had such a delicious meal tonight that this will be our regular restaurant when we go to Sluis again

Fish pan is different than in Belgium, they use pasta. This was quite good, but for Belgians who are used to a different format this is different. Ours is oven-baked and crusty. I suspect Macedonia, near Greece. I know this style. It was good, but Belgians know that not everything will be like in BE and it is best to know that in advance. Good atmosphere even though I don't speak Macedonian or Turkish. Fries were frozen, but the good dish made me forget this. All in all 3.5 out of 5 and good wine 3.70.

Ik ben gediplomeerd kok uit België/Affligem, vis pannetje "Cote d' Azur" besteld, scharrel tong was zuur en wansmakelijk, ook bijgevoegd vissaus was enorm zout en zichtbaar dik,klonter vettig, en zwart aangebrand aan bord uit oven,mogelijk om smaak te verdoezelen,frieten waren zeer bruin leeg gebakken in oud vet, dit ruik je en proef je, bord betaald van 24,90€ heb dit aangekaart bij bedienend personeel, deze laatsten begon in vreemde taal lachend met haar collega te discussiëren, geen feedback van excuses, of vraag waarom ik een vol bord liet staan, we eten +- 8 x per jaar in Sluis, maar resto Cote d' azur nooit meer! 👎

Water 350ml €5,95? Zalm in frietuur gebakken! Prijs buiten €16,95. NA het eten berekenen ze nog: €3,50 voor saus + €1 voor mayonaise. + meer dan €21 voor een stuk vis in frietuur? Echt oplichters. Mensen lopen hier rond, ze zijn geen toeristen. Ze zijn echt oplichters. Ik ga heel vaak naar Sluis, maar ik ga nooit meer binnen in die zaak.

I'm writing this review from the toilet, which I probably won't leave for the next few hours, I'm so sick from my dining experience here. In my opinion you can't call this food. My husband ordered fish & chips and I a fish burger with fries. My husband's fish had a hard shell that you could smash something with, and my fish burger was downright inedible. The fish was completely overcooked, while the bun was dry, hard and cold as if it had been out of the package on the counter for a whole day. All this was served with limp fries and a weird sour sauce on the burger and vegetables. And that for the ridiculous price of 47.60 euros! For that money I'd rather eat grass. The concept seemed fun, and the boss drives around in a Mercedes, but maybe pay some attention to the food before showing off. Disgusting. We will never come back here again. I think this place has been taken over, because the food and interior that I saw in the photos do not resemble what you get here.

We waren eerst niet van plan om iets te eten maar kregen toch wat honger dus dachten een toast of croque, lekker. Ik neem toast champignons en mijn man croque bolognaise. Voor bijna 11€ stuk verwacht je toch dat het in orde is. Mijn toast had geen toaster gezien en was dus slap en daarop champignons uit blik gesmeten. Heb het nog laten toasten maar was niet veel beter. Van de honger toch wat gegeten maar heeft mij de rest van de namiddag opgesmeten. Nooit meer!

Food is not tasty, toast soggy, canned mushrooms. For the price you pay you expect something different. If this business were located outside Sluis, it would have been bankrupt a long time ago.

De saus lijkt op en smaakt naar de sauzen die je vind in een bokaal in de supermarkt. Wellicht is het dat ook. Niets vers .. zowat de minst lekkere spaghetti die ik ooit op restaurant heb gegeten en dat doe ik vaak..

Absolutely not recommended! What a deception this thing is! Seems like a nice place, but the staff seems very disinterested. If you order a Caesar salad you get lettuce with boiled carrots from a jar/can and corn, something that is not part of that at all in my opinion. Then the cucumber inside was completely dried out. And it just wasn't tasty! The bouncer had some vague sauce on it which was not mentioned! For someone who doesn't like dressing and sauces, this is really not possible. Really enjoyed it a lot. We didn't even eat the food. I regret that we paid, because they are really not worth it! This place is definitely not recommended!

Met mijn vrouw een uitsmijter weest eten, omdat we niet veel tijd hadden heel uitgebreid te tafelen= wat een geluk. De uitsmijters waren 1 redelijk duur vonden ....toch enkel € duurder dan elders. Mocht je dan nog waar voor uw geld krijgen...ham kaas genomen, Ham nog ok, maar 1 eitje dat bovendien koud was. Personeel ver van vriendelijk , eens vragen heeft gesmaakt deed ze niet= zo kan je ook geen kritiek geven ;-) De groenten bij de uitsmijter waren ook niet super, 1 stukje tomaat en 1 schijfje komkommer en wat blaadjes sla. Toen ik de rekening vroeg en met pin wou betalen, ging niet direct met de kaart...wordt de kaart gewoon uit mijn hand getrokken en in gleuf geplaatst zodat ik pin moest invoeren. Beide een water gevraagd(spa rood) blijkt van de kraan en wel op gas gezet= de prijs van 5.95€/ flesje vond ik er serieus over. Ik had beter een goeie pint gekocht voor die prijs. Dat mens liep er echt tegen haar goesting, dat haar baas dit niet ziet???? Kortom mij zien ze daar niet terug+ als ik volgende keer in Sluis kom en ik zie dat iemand twijfelt om er iets te gaan eten, ik hun ga wijzen om de revieuws van de zaak eens te lezen= had ik dus beter ook gedaan. Helaas was de zaak waar we normaal gaan gesloten.:-(

My dining experience at Cote D'Azur At first glance it seemed like a cozy restaurant, with a friendly old man (presumably the owner) who welcomed us warmly. This created expectations for a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, this turned out to be just an illusion, because as soon as we entered, we were served by staff who couldn't help but smile. The menu looked promising, with a wide choice of dishes. Each of my friends chose something different, but unfortunately we were all disappointed with the quality. The prime rib was a unique experience, although not in a good way. It looked like a piece of meat that had been frying in the same frying oil for months, with an exterior that reminded you of an old French fry. Although the spareribs fell off the bone, they tasted like a piece of chewing gum you would take from under a school table. The spaghetti bolognese seemed to come straight from a ready-made package. To my surprise, the culinary highlight of the evening was the vegetarian tagliatelle – although that may be because you can't mess up much with it. My experience in numbers: Food: 2.5 Staff: -1 Conclusion: an evening to quickly forget.

Eat unlimited mussels and spare ribs. Good price-quality ratio. It's a shame if the service makes a comment when you order another spare rib. “It has to stay tasty, isn't it about food”. I think this is an inappropriate comment if someone orders for a 3rd time if you run an all you can eat concept. The pieces you get are small, so it is not surprising if someone goes for a 3rd round. As a result, it no longer felt like being able to eat unlimitedly, which is why only 2 stars unfortunately. We got dessert somewhere else.

A cup of cappuccino costs €4.50 here! Very unfriendly service. The two employees present will eat their meal together in the restaurant while the terrace is full. I certainly don't plan on eating or drinking here again.

Vandaag langsgeweest om mosselen en steak tartaar. De serveerster kon onmogelijk nog minder geïnteresseerd zijn in haar job. De mosselen leken mee te vallen. De frietjes waren duidelijk zonder kennis gebakken, geel en nog rauw vanbinnen. De steak tartaar was al helemaal een aanfluiting : een platgedrukte dunne bleke lap gehakt met daarop een eierdooier uitgesmeerd. Daarnaast apart 6 karton potjes met specerijen en sauzen in waarvan 4 totaal niet bij tartaar worden geserveerd : o.a. zoetzure chilisaus en een roze onbekende saus. Geen uitjes, geen mayo, geen kappertjes of cornichons. Niet 1 blaadje sla of tomaat... Daarbij kamen niet voldoende gebakken frieten. Voor mayo moest extra bijbetaald... Ik heb het bord bijna onaangeroerd opzij geschoven en de eigenaar heeft dit duidelijk gemerkt. Maar niks gezegd. Voor een prijs van bijna 60 euro is dit gewoon niet ok. Schoenmaker blijf bij uw leest... als u een gerecht niet kunt presenteren zoals het hoort dan moet u het niet aanbieden. Ik ben daarna recht de bakkerij binnengestapt.

We ordered 2 drinks, a spaghetti and croquettes. We received our food within 5 minutes, even though we didn't have our drink yet. Spaghetti was very salty and the sauce very runny, croquettes perhaps from Colruyt? I have doubts about freshness, food was finished and drinks had not yet been received, staff was friendly but quite chaotic.

After dinner we had not finished our drinks yet, they came to ask if we wanted anything else. I went to the toilet and my friend asked for the bill after paying and was urged to wait outside for me. Which she refused. It was busy, but it is certainly not the intention that you have to leave the business immediately.. will certainly not advertise that business..

After searching for a suitable restaurant that serves spare ribs, we came across this place. The atmosphere was mediocre, staff did not ask if everything was satisfactory and did not radiate much job satisfaction. Spare ribs were unwritten as their specialty, but once on the table the taste was beyond search. The meat was tender, but there was hardly any flavor. No wonder it wasn't busy on the terrace. We won't be coming back here.

One of the best beef carpaccio I have ever eaten. Very large portions as well and extremely friendly and attentive service. Recommended.

We just left here and unfortunately this was not a pleasant experience, we ordered poffertjes, waffles and taggliatelli with scampi. The waffles and the poffertjes really did not seem fresh and came out of the oven, the poffertjes and the pasta dish had virtually no taste, after asking if more herbs could be added they took the plate away and brought it back with mushroom sauce, Obviously this was really not tasty and we sent the pasta back and did not have to pay for it

Food was delicious, I had mussels, my husband had steak. Staff could be more attentive - but totally okay. What annoyed me personally was the double sound. We sat outside and heard music from the restaurant and (!) from the neighboring shop, which was annoying. Price/performance okay!

Ordered a large mix tapas platter. The classic deep-fried snacks such as bitterballen, mini currywurst, bouletjes, ... supplemented with cheese cubes, olives, chorizo, salami, Parma ham... Beautifully arranged and presented. The ice creams were tasty but could have been filled a little richer with chocolate sauce (dame blanche), the crème brûlée was a little too runny. But certainly not dissatisfied.

First time eating there. What a nice cozy atmosphere even though it was really cold ... patio burners provided the necessary warmth and atmosphere to have an aperitif outside and then eat inside, what delicious ribs mmmmm really well prepared, we will definitely go back. Children are no problem there, the staff love Kids and provide interaction if the child asks for it, with a lollipop when you leave the store.
