Cozy Lunchroom in Centrum

I ate here with my husband. Everyone in the kitchen stares at me while you're eating. As a result, I ended up with diarrhea. Who knows what kind of filth was in my food and they were just staring at me while I ate it.

It's just a normal lunchroom Nothing important or anything, but the food is good and otherwise nothing special, or would I ever come back? I don't think so.

The food is usually always delicious here; today I ordered two tavuk pirzola. It was so much spicier than usual, so I asked if they could make it again with less heat. They responded well to this; after waiting a while, the food arrived and I was told that the sauce was like that and could not be changed. In my opinion, the food could have been better replaced with something else, so I gave the food to my boyfriend because I thought it was a waste. The person who had served us asked if it was okay now, to which I explained that it was really too spicy for me and I thought it was a waste, so my boyfriend was eating it. In response, the lady who had served us asked if I really didn't want something else, and I asked this twice, to which I replied, "Just give me a chicken pide instead," thinking that this would serve as a replacement. My boyfriend wanted to pay, and it turned out he had to pay for everything because he had eaten it all 🤣—a dish that would otherwise have been thrown away twice. When I was asked if I wanted something else, my first response was no thank you, but because the lady serving us insisted and asked again if I really didn't want anything else and that she could arrange something for us, I thought okay, that's nice, and I was genuinely still hungry. 😭 Bizarre

I had lunch here with some friends. It is very tasty and the service is very attentive. The food was served reasonably quickly and the prices are reasonable. I had the croquette sandwich. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, my experience at Cozy Lunchroom was very disappointing. We ordered two ayrans and two toasted sandwiches. I had clearly ordered a toasted sandwich, but the waitress corrected me with pide instead of a toasted sandwich with sucuk. We thought she meant that the pide bread belonged WITH the toasted sandwich, but ultimately we received a completely different dish: a pide. That was not what we had ordered. Afterwards, we received conflicting information from the staff. One employee said that we had to pay for the pide because we had taken a bite of it, while another said that this was not necessary. Ultimately, we only wanted to pay for the two ayrans and leave, because we no longer felt comfortable due to the whole situation. When I indicated that we only wanted to pay for the ayrans, the waitress reacted angrily and aggressively. She said that they were currently preparing four dishes for us. I explained that we no longer felt welcome and therefore preferred to leave. The way she subsequently handed us the receipt and treated us felt very unfriendly and intimidating. It wasn't about making a mistake; everyone can make mistakes. It was about the way we were treated. Unfortunately, we felt completely unheard and disrespected. That is the reason why we will not be coming back here.

Very delicious food, freshly prepared right there in the restaurant. You can watch the chef preparing the meals live. The service is friendly. We enjoyed the food so much that, in addition to having lunch there, we went back again later in the evening. I can highly recommend this restaurant—the Turkish dishes are delicious.

The food was really top-notch! The pide was super tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. Definitely recommended if that is what you're coming for. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The waitstaff, two girls, came across as rude and completely unfriendly. That made the experience a lot less pleasant. It's a shame, because with such good dishes, you would expect welcoming service.

I've been to Cozy several times. Today I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. While I was eating, I noticed something unusual in the chicken (as shown in the photo). When I pointed this out to the server, she told me she would have a new sandwich made. Then the chef returned with my plate and explained that the chicken wasn't raw, even though the photo shows it to be red. I told her I wondered what it was and why they would serve it like that, and she gave me the same answer every time. I finally paid and left. I will never go there again.

I got food poisoning from the meat-filled bread I ate today and I'm currently in the hospital for food poisoning. Also, there was something we couldn't understand in the chicken my daughter ordered. When we sent the plate back, the chef brought us another one and said that these chickens are prepared for them and they only heard about it. They said it would be the same if they made a new one and didn't replace our plate. I will never go there again.

Lovely restaurant with nice and cozy atmosphere. Very friendly attentive girls working in the this place. So helpful and English-speaking. Food was delicious especially soup. Lahmajun was crispy and flavorful. Pide was amazing juicy, well-cooked and served with salad and sauce. And of course turkish tea....so good. Will definitely go back again

We went here 3-4 times already, because food is excellent. Really, so nice. You can see it on a pictures also from other people and I prove it that it’s delicious. But 1 star in general is for service. It’s terrible. Today was ONE MORE TIME and after that don’t want to come back at all. And I’m so sad, because place itself is very nice and we were always happy to come here.. but, if owners read it - PLEASE! Please, talk to your team! Something Is definitely going on within them. When waiter came to us today, she was talking with us.. like she didn’t want to be here at all. With the most unfriendly face possible she got our order for drinks. And after it like in couple min other girl came to us to ask what we wanted to drink and to eat. So we made an order. In 5 min first waiter came to us with asking what we want to eat. And it feels like they don’t communicate with each other who gets order from which table.. Because last times when we were here we had a situation that they confused and got us a wrong order.. they forgot about our tea and coffee.. But okay. Today. We were waiting already for 40 min.. and we had no food. Than my boyfriend went to ask like how long is more to wait. And they just.. forgot about our order 🙂 Thank you very much! For all your attention and guests-welcoming. They asked 2 times and at the end just forgot :) lovely waiting for 40 minutes and not even checked us during this time. I was really angry. Because it’s not okay. It feels like these waiters don’t want to be here at all and they don’t really care about customers. And maybe of course, everyone can have a bad day.. but it happens already not the first time. So if you don’t want to work here or you have other problems - PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT INSIDE YOUR TEAM. With each other. Why we, customers, need to suffer from this? Sorry for this big message. I was just really hungry and really wanted to have a good food. I came all the way from Nijmegen to eat here and was so disappointed that I couldn’t. Of course, girls asked after 40 min if we wanted to order something. But we didn’t, because mood was already spoiled. Hope through my message you see how communication and people that work together can influence on a customer’s experience. And hope it can lead you to some conclusions.

I ordered two pides with ground beef. After 45 minutes, I asked where they were. First, I was told they'd just come out of the oven, and after 10 minutes, I asked another employee where they were. Then, suddenly, I was told they hadn't made it yet. And that they'd probably forgotten. No apology, nothing. I paid for my water and left.

We ate here today. The food itself was reasonable, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we had to wait 10–15 minutes while employees stood talking to each other behind the counter. Additionally, I had clearly indicated that my partner is allergic to onions; however, this was not taken into account, resulting in my partner having an allergic reaction, which is very serious. We had also ordered potato slices, but these were never served. When I pointed all of this out at the counter, the employee merely responded with “oh okay”. I have been here before, but after this experience, this was unfortunately the last time.

We went today, but the service was terrible. They came over a few times to check our order. My friend ordered a menemen and I a pide, but the food didn't arrive at the same time, and I had to wait another 15 minutes for my pide while my friend already had hers. The menemen was tasteless, and when I pointed it out to the staff, I received a dry reply. Later, I asked if I wanted a second one, but I didn't have to. I won't be back.

Went here a few times over a year and food was very bland. The kibbeh was very bland and I only realised how flsvourless it was when I went to Rotterdam and tried more there. The egg dishes were also totally underseasoned and bland. Also they had Ramadan signs saying you could still come in and not eat or drink, but as many reviews from Muslim guests have said it is actually not serving Halal food so feels predatory and lying by omission. Big shame because the staff, atmosphere and location is really good.

Had breakfast with my wife, it was delicious. Highly recommended.

The food is very good and tasty. The whole place is very clean.

The food was certainly okay. But the staff sat next to us eating and looked at us as if we were from another planet. That's their choice, of course. What struck me was that they were all drinking a large glass of ayran. When I ordered an ayran myself, I was given a plastic Aldi cup for €0.30. That was a real disappointment! We also had a dry salad plate without dressing, with a dried-out piece of cucumber and a dried-out tomato! They won't see me again with such grumpy staff! Ugh, never again.

The food was good but there was one waiter who kept talking about me and a friend and was quite arrogant when we were paying. Maybe she thought we were talking about her, but my friend just thought the waiter was nice haha, but the food was great.

Absolutely delicious food served here. From the pide to the grilled sandwiches. The smells that come from the kitchen get your senses really going. They use a clay oven for the pides and flatbread. Amazing to see. Hardworking and friendly staff are a bonus. My two young kids (5+9) were very enthusiastic. My daughter ordered the grilled chicken burger, normally not one to eat salad, but she enjoyed the lot. The pides were so so good. Definitely recommend this place.

Unfortunately despite surplus of employees and fairly low occupancy and long wait not helped at table in the middle of the lunchroom. People after us were helped. We just got up and walked away.

I felt the need to write because it got worse every time we went. First of all, I am not an attention seeker, I am just someone who wants to see the value of the money I pay. But the employees are really unaware of the food culture. I can say that he is uninformed enough to bring a normal knife with a mixed grill, and disrespectful enough to look at me meaninglessly when I ask. Waiters leave the products on the table and run directly behind the cash register. To make eye contact or show a hand, you have to either be lucky or walk up to their feet. We order mixed grill, it is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, but even the most amateur street food seller would not give up the plate that comes with it. A plate consisting of chicken other than kebab. For example, appetizers, which are an indispensable part of the kebab-grill culture, do not come before the meal. Ketchup and mayonnaise are the most served sauces on the side. Also, no one came to pick up the empties after the meal. I was going to order dessert. When no one came, I went to the cash register to order dessert. Then I ordered rice pudding. When it came to the table, he said it was a Ramadan treat. If there is a dessert offered, the waiters have to ask and bring it to me without me having to go to the cash register every time for requests. Tea is being served to the next tables, but as I said, no one brought it to us, the waiters are really looking for a place to escape to avoid being asked anything. I'm not the person to write these things all at once. I was really sorry for the money I paid for the last time I went maybe 3-4 times. If I am polite and friendly, the only thing I expect is to be reciprocated in the same way. Regards to everyone. I definitely do not recommend it.

Etliekmek was great as always BUT... just heard that carpaccio salad is not halal. 5 years ago I asked and it was still halal then. Why didn't you mention this earlier? In all those years we have eaten carpaccio so many times. Absolutely not to be trusted anymore. Kul hakki, günah ve insan kandirmaca, sirf para icin bu yapilmamaliydi.

Today I went there for breakfast, about half an hour after opening time. We ordered breakfast twice, but I was shocked when I saw what we were served. It looked absolutely nothing like what was on the menu. I immediately reported this to the employees, but they did not respond very friendly. When I explained that we only got half of what was on the menu, one of them said, “Yes, this is it.” I indicated that I did not think it was right to pay for something that is incomplete. She said she would discuss it, but then never came back. We didn't say anything else and still paid for breakfast, but this really felt like a scam. The food was also dry, little, and not at all what you would expect. My advice: don't go there for breakfast. It is absolutely not worth the price, and the service also leaves much to be desired.

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was not what I had hoped for. It took a very long time for our order to be taken, and once the food came, the sandwiches and soups were served at the same time. This took up little space on the table and made it difficult to eat comfortably. In addition, the food itself was disappointing; the flavors were not as expected. Afterwards it also took a very long time for our table to be cleared, and during our visit we were not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. First of all, extremely friendly staff. And the food, it was really good. This is now my other favorite restaurant. At first I thought it was a shame that it was Turkish, because I don't know it and it didn't seem tasty to me, but it is much tastier than Dutch. I had a pizza, but thinner, so it was not dry, but exactly what is tasty and the taste sensation is better. I had the pide pesto and I recommend it to everyone. Delicious. We could also pay separately and at different times. And it was a very cozy restaurant where I enjoyed sitting. When I come to Arnhem and want to eat, this is my new place to be.

Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, I thought the sandwich was with fried chicken fillet but it was more like chicken fillet slices on the grill. A very bad disappointment, the smell of the chicken was certainly not good either. I love coming here, but this is definitely my last time!

You pay way too much for what you get here. The service is downright bad. I asked for tea with my breakfast, but it was served first, with breakfast coming later. The result? A breakfast with cold tea. When I asked for some extra bread, I suddenly had to pay €7.50 at the cash register! I wasn't told that in advance. Because there was so little food on the plate, I asked for extra bread, but I never expected it to cost so much. In addition, the €4.50 orange juice was bland and watery. And the menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) was simply inedible. All in all: a very disappointing experience with poor service and far too high prices. Lost €60 and still hungry.

I went there and ordered an Americano, and what was the result? 1-The waitress does not know what an Americano is 2-The price of a small cup is 3.20 cents 3- It was not Americano coffee, but another type 4-The coffee tastes very bad 5- Hot coffee in a cup with a plastic lid ((in order to prevent cancer in the future)) 6-Don't go there...!!

The best restaurant in that area

Had lunch here yesterday. The eggs were fine, but the pide with lamb was really bad. The pide was limp and the meat was literally tough with every bite, in short, a big disappointment. Finally, the sigara buregi, which were made with spring roll wrappers and therefore did not taste as they should.

Only had coffee and cake.. But that was already super tasty and fresh... We saw some fantastic food passing by. Very friendly staff.

Yesterday we had dinner with 3 people at Cozy lunchroom. It was a super cute place, very good service, super nice staff. We ordered Beyti, California, Manti and Civikli pide. It was delicious! We enjoyed the flavors and the atmosphere. We will definitely come back!

Was here to eat a carpaccio with friends, I politely asked the waitress where my carpaccio was since the rest of my friends got their orders and suddenly the waitress shouted at me; you don't have to talk to me in that tone. The food is okay (although pricey) but this was a really antisocial waitress and because of this I will not come back.

What a great lunchroom this is. You enter and immediately feel a warm atmosphere. It was completely full, but my order was delivered within 10 minutes. It's also really cool that you can see how they make the dough themselves. The taste TOP. Highly recommended.

Een Turks lunch cafeetje met aardige bediening. We zaten eerst bij de deur, maar gezien de deur elke 5 sec automatisch open ging zijn we verplaatst naar een plek voor het raam. Het was een soort barretje voor het raam dus we konden goed naar buiten kijken, naar iedereen die langs liep, dat was wel leuk. Helaas was het daar ook nog tochtig koud door de deur die steeds open ging. Hij ging niet alleen open voor de vele mensen die steeds in en uit wilde maar ook als iemand voor de winkel langs liep en hij reageerde ook op de serveersters die er 1,5m vanaf langs liepen. De broodjes die we hadden waren goed gevult en lekker, maar ik zou er niet meer heen gaan als het deur probleem niet opgelost wordt, of helemaal achterin gaan zitten. Ik wil de deur niet mee laten wegen in mijn oordeel, dus toch 4 sterren. Legenda: 1) Vreselijk! Raad ik af, ik kom nooit meer terug! 2) Jammer, onder mijn verwachtingen, ik kom niet nog een keer. 3) Ok, niks mis mee, maar niet bijzonder, leuk voor 1 keer. 4) Prima, de moeite waard om terug te komen. 5) Uitstekend! Raad ik aan, ik kom zeker terug!
