What a beautiful hidden corner in Arnhem, incredibly friendly people and a cozy atmosphere. A hidden oasis of peace with good coffee and delicious pastries.

About 10 people in the store, and then the food order is forgotten. A bit of a shame.

Never got the food, and I still had to pay for drinks. I waited an hour for nothing...

We had a wonderful time here for drinks and snacks. Games were on the table. The staff was super friendly and fun. We really enjoyed it! Lovely lady (owner). A hidden gem in the city!

There's always a great atmosphere. You don't really feel like you're in a city, but rather in a garden. It's almost like an escape. They have fun games and books to keep you entertained. The tables are a bit close together, so it's not super spacious. But it's also not so crammed that you're bothered by the people around you. The staff is incredibly honest. They clearly indicate when portions are quite large (think nachos), so you don't overorder.

What a cozy atmosphere in this very charming lunchroom. We enjoyed delicious tea and coffee with cakes and played games in between. Really fun!

It's not very clean, especially dusty. The table and the menu weren't exactly spotless; four tables around us were piled high with plates from previous guests. Service took a very long time, and seemed almost understaffed—although I saw there were quite a few staff members walking around later. The decor in the courtyard is outdated: netting that hasn't grown over yet, old fake flowers literally everywhere, tables painted but not between the shelves, broken toys. You can tell it's someone's life's work, but a fresh look could be helpful. ++ The menu is very generous and broad, and it's essentially a cozy spot in the heart of the city. Perhaps it depends on where you're sitting.

Good quality. Lovely sheltered patio. It's a shame the patio and tables are covered in fences, plastic plants, and parasols. Otherwise, this would be the perfect spot for a patio on a sunny spring or autumn day.

The food was delicious after a long wait (over an hour). The treatment after asking when we could expect the food was downright rude, despite our reservation in advance (for 12 people).

Last Sunday we discovered this charming little courtyard. The service was horrible. A three-quarter-hour wait, despite our calls, before our orders were taken. Then half an hour for our food to be delivered. Others who arrived after us were served before us. Our table neighbors even went inside to order. We complained to the waitresses, but to no avail.

Note: The menu states that the toasted sandwiches are 12 cm in diameter. That's really tiny once on your plate. That's why we ordered some more. The quality was fine, but the final price was quite high.

Such an amazing sanctuary in the middle of a busy city! We were looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary and were so lucky to stumble upon this place. My doppio was great in every single way: very rich in taste and flavor, and not bitter nor sour. Same goes for burger and salad: rich, balanced, fresh! And our special thanks to the lady who served our table 💚

So much fun!! A truly fantastic cafe. They even had games on the table. How fun! Just a cozy cafe. The toasted sandwich was also really delicious and well-filled! One small drawback: there was no Citroën in my iced tea 🥲

The atmosphere is good, but hygiene could be better. Our menu was dirty. When we mentioned this, the staff replied that there were already people at this table when I cleaned the menus. The dirtier menu simply remained on the table. When our lunch was served, the drinks slid across the tray, and the tea glasses toppled over onto my hand and pants. This can happen, and it's the terror of everyone in the service industry. A tea towel was brought, and later, at my girlfriend's insistence, a tea towel with ice to cool my hand. Later, some ointment was also brought. When we left, the tea towels and ointment were quickly taken from the table; no one asked how it was. When my girlfriend mentioned this during the bill, a server immediately came to explain it to the rest of our group and told them that the girl who had slid the tray over was only 14. I don't blame her, but I would have appreciated more attention to the incident. My hand was burned, and I had to go back into town with wet pants. And compensation would have been appropriate.

A really nice hidden spot in Arnhem! The terrace is very atmospheric, but the tables could be a bit cleaner. We ordered a club sandwich and a fish club sandwich. The sandwiches were generously filled and delicious. The gluten-free bread is definitely recommended if you have a gluten intolerance!

Weinig plek, ze zien je niet zitten. Kwartier gewacht, maar niemand heeft aandacht voor je. Verschillende mensen waren aan het wachten. Niks gegeten of gedronken. Niemand ziet je komen of weggaan.

Delicious coffee in an old fashion style café. The staff is very friendly and dogs are welcome. They even provide water and a few treats for them.

Good place to eat something, if you go the club sandwich (without cheese) is definitely recommended. They are just less happy with slippers and shorts.

t Koffiehuisje Het Hemelrijk – Hidden gem in Arnhem In the middle of the city centre of Arnhem you will find ’t Koffiehuisje Het Hemelrijk: an oasis of peace and a real hidden gem. They are known for their delicious coffee specialties, but also surprise with a surprisingly good mojito – definitely worth a try. The service is friendly and creates a warm, hospitable atmosphere. A place we would like to come back to.

Your response underlines for me exactly the problem I mentioned in my review: instead of seriously addressing my experience, you choose to enter into a discussion and demonstrate why my experience would be incorrect. To me, that does not feel like listening to your guest, but like brushing aside criticism. My experience was that the service was not up to par, with the discussion at the table as the low point. The fact that you then think you can make up for this with a present for my daughter does not change how I was treated as a customer. Service is not just giving a present, but above all listening to and dealing respectfully with feedback. I hope that you do take this feedback to heart, instead of trivializing or correcting it. Ultimately, a case stands or falls with how you deal with criticism and dissatisfied guests. . . . . Mixing Malibu with sparkling water, mint leaves as decoration, ice cubes and serving a straw is not a mojito. Then asking €8 for it as if it were an authentic mojito, I find downright misleading. When I discussed this with the owner (or perhaps an overly involved employee), I was told that this would be according to the ‘real mojito recipe’. As someone who often drinks mojitos and comes from the Caribbean, where this cocktail originates, I can confirm that this is absolutely not true. Instead of understanding, I got the feeling that I was the problem. I found this very frustrating. Even though I indicated after one sip that I did not want the ‘mojito’, I still had to pay for it because I had ordered it. To avoid escalation, I left it, but I thought it was poor service. We also ordered an apple pancake and poffertjes. Unfortunately, these turned out to be made from exactly the same (and too heavy) batter, which basically gave you a large and small pancake, but no real poffertjes. Looking at the other reviews, this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. My advice: take cocktails off the menu and focus on what you're good at. For the record, here's the real recipe for a mojito, since you seem convinced that Malibu with sparkling water is enough: Ingredients 30 ml white rum 90 ml sparkling water 15 ml lime juice 2 teaspoons cane sugar 12 fresh mint leaves 1 sprig of mint Piece of lime Crushed ice Ladle or mudler Short tumbler glass How to make the Mojito Put the lime juice and sugar in your glass. Mash them together firmly with a cocktail muddler, or the back of a ladle. Give the mint leaves a slap and put the leaves in your glass. Add the rum and sparkling water. Fill your glass to the brim with ice. Crushed ice preferably, or cubes. Stir until the mint leaves float nicely. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a wedge of lime.

What a nice welcome! This place is not very noticeable, but there is a sign on the street with directions. You come to the coffee house through a nice alley. All cozy sitting corners outside. Nicely done. Also cozy inside. Delicious coffee and pastries. Toast is also delicious. Friendly service. Recommended.

The shop is located in a backyard. We were allowed to bring the dog. We sat outside. The service was super friendly and the coffee and poffertjes were really good

Not worth a star! Bad service, bad food!! You pay a hefty 10.95 for a sandwich and you get 1 dried out slice from the supermarket. I really do not recommend this lunch place. Really bad. Even when I indicated that I was dissatisfied I got a big mouth that the fish is very expensive to buy. Waste of money to have lunch there!!!

High Tea What an experience! This high tea was not just a tea moment, but a complete culinary journey from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and the table quickly began to fill with the most impressive etagères I have ever seen. What made this high tea extra special was the atmosphere: relaxed, stylish and yet accessible. You felt welcome and spoiled. We enjoyed, laughed, chatted and tasted for almost three hours. Conclusion: This high tea was not only huge in quantity, but also great in quality. Definitely recommended for a special occasion or just to treat yourself.

It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. It was a long wait for us because we had an appointment in the city afterwards. The service was fine, but due to the crowds it took a very long time until we received our order...hence the 3 stars...

Was vol toen wij kwamen, maar na heel even buiten gewacht te hebben, met al heerlijke koffie, was er binnen een tafeltje vrij gekomen. Het geheel zeer sfeervol in kerststemming aangekleed. Erg lekkere clubsandwiches, uitsmijter en uiensoep gegeten. Ook de latte machiato en warme anijsmelk waren heerlijk. Ook gezellige bediening door attente jongedames. Leuk, maar wel verscholen, gelegen.

Bad. Waiting more than 45 minutes for a sandwich. After half an hour I asked where it was. The owner said that they only had 2 sandwich makers. After 55 minutes we paid for the coffee and politely told her that we didn't like having to wait so long for a sandwich. And guess what: she said if you had ordered a more expensive lunch you wouldn't have had to wait so long. So sorry couldn't get rid of it. The customer gets the blame. SO THAT IS ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN.

Meer dan 3 kwartier op een tosti moeten wachten. Bij navraag hebben ze maar 2 tosti ijzers. Maar nadat de hele zaak al te eten had en wij nog niet zijn we de koffie maar gaan betalen en weggegaan. Tegen de eigenaresse gezegd dat wij dat niet vonden kunnen om meer dan 3 kwartier op een tosti te wachten zei ze doodleuk dat als we een duurder lunch hadden besteld dan waren we eerder aan de beurt geweest. Hoe onbeschoft kan je tegen je klanten zijn. Geen sorry maar je klanten de schuld geven. Mevrouw moet een cursus klantenbenadering nemen.

Hemelrijk, a tent that I had saved for some time to visit in Arnhem. Now the time had finally come to take a look. The entrance was good and the ambiance is great. We ordered 2 special beers. That went well, but you can't really go wrong with that... We ordered bitterballen, 6 pieces. When we got them they were: Not crispy and simply not warm on the inside. Not at all what you want with bitterballen, of course. After each tasted 1 bitterbal, my friend walked to the counter to ask the staff if it went well. She took the bitterballen with her and would discuss it with her manager. The two then went to the opening to the kitchen to discuss with each other and we received some angry looks from the (I think) manager. The waiter came to our table and told us that the bitterballen had come out of the oven and that everything had gone well. But we were allowed to pay half the money, because we had eaten 2... We drank our beer and left, but still had to pay the full price at the cash register. It's okay that your bitterballen come out of the oven. But make sure they are warm and that you keep your promises. This way you lose the quality and good name of your tent. I don't recommend this place and wouldn't go there again.

Koffiehuis 't Hemelrijk was still on my list of lunch restaurants that I was curious about and wanted to try again. The restaurant is a bit hidden in a small passage with a similar name. Still, people managed to find it because it was almost completely full. Fortunately, there was still 1 table available. At first I had a positive impression. It looks cozy. It is all decorated to match in a floral, cozy grandma style. Even the ceiling is matching. The person who came to take the order was also friendly. The table wasn't very clean (the previous visitor's receipt was still there), but I was hungry so I decided it was fine. There was a kind of quiz game on the table that was fun to do while you wait. Despite the crowds and the other reviews I read, I didn't think it would take long for us. The crowds also decreased since we were there. We opted for the croquettes and a carpaccio salad. The croquettes were a bit rubbery (probably because they are not deep-fried croquettes) but the taste was ok. The carpaccio salad was more like lettuce with carpaccio surrounded by a circle of dried cucumber. The cucumbers on my friend's plate were also warped because they had dried out. When the food was cleared away, I was asked if everything had been satisfactory, I indicated that the cucumbers were not fresh. The waitress indicated she would pass it on. I have had no feedback on it. Because the carpaccio salad was not filling (even though I had a coffee with lots of whipped cream), I ordered a cake afterwards. The coffee with caramel and whipped cream is very tasty. However, no one came to us in between to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted something to drink, so we had to go after this ourselves. My friend ordered another milkshake, which was also very tasty. Although it was actually too cold for a milkshake. Even though it is already quite autumn and therefore cold, the outside doors were wide open. As a result, a strong wind always came in for every person who went through the interval. My friend said at the beginning, it's a shame we can't sit in the courtyard (cold and rain). I then said that we will do that next time, but I think I will stick with this time. Despite the tasty drinks, the food was really substandard. I think there are better restaurants in Arhem where you can have lunch. Good service can usually make up for this. This one wasn't really bad, but it wasn't good either. Legend: 1) Terrible! I don't recommend it, I will never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't come again. 3) Ok, nothing wrong with that, but nothing special, nice for once. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend, I will definitely come back!

If you like cheap (toasted) white bread, lots of lettuce and mini toasted sandwiches, you should definitely have lunch here. Response to owner response. I don't go out for lunch to eat a grilled cheese that tastes just like home. At home the sandwich is also a bit larger, so I don't remove the crusts there. We also had a carpaccio and tuna sandwich. A white sandwich with a can of tuna with peas and mayonnaise on a white roll with lettuce is very poor. For the prices you command, you don't expect to leave hungry. Certainly not after waiting 45 minutes.

Beautiful place, nice atmosphere created. Unfortunately, our sandwiches were not there after 45 minutes. Inquiries with the staff did not yield much, they said it was busy. After another 15 minutes I asked again, same response. It would have been nice if they had admitted that they had forgotten us. Customers who came in after us had already finished eating. Poor response from staff to our dissatisfaction. To top it all off, I still had to wait to pay...

Very nice spot, just outside the heart of the center. Pleasantly decorated, beautiful round tables with benches. There is a sign on the table stating that it is customary to share the table when it is busy 😊 I like that. Wide choice for drinks and lunch. Nice meal!

What an unpleasant experience and I'll keep it tidy!! It's crazy to say what it's like there! I sat there for two and a half hours to actually have a nice lunch and then left without eating a bite! Heard for almost 2 hours that it was almost here..... People come after us and they eat something and leave, and we just wait and so do some tables around us. At a certain point they close the business because they can no longer cope, an hour and a half too late! The owner has been saying for 35 minutes that the croquettes have been in the fat, but I think they are hanging on the ceiling after such a long time! She says she doesn't know what they're doing in the kitchen either, but I guess it's her business, right...? Never again, valuable time wasted! Just to add to your response..... - Of course! We are 100% sure we have been to you! - We were not overlooked but kept on the line for 2.5 hours. - review was indeed posted on Monday, is it stated somewhere that we visited you on Monday? The visit has been some time ago. - Whether or not the croquettes come out of the fat, ours didn't! - Good to hear that you can handle the crowds now! Good to read that things are starting to dawn. If you think it was some time ago, then maybe it happens more often...? I am happy that you were able to rake in your turnover despite the fact that there were several dissatisfied visitors and guests on your terrace! Thank you for the invitation to visit you again, but I would like to decline this invitation. At home I lower the net into the pan, so I can be sure that I will be eating within fifteen minutes. Hier wezen lunchen vanwege het grote aanbod van tosti's. Ik nam de tosti kaas, ham, tomaat. Deze lunchroom is uniek door de ronde tosti's. Helaas waren de randen bijna beton en de kaasvulling net gesmolten. Helaas bleek het "ham" gedeelte hamblokjes te zijn. Samen met 1 cola was ik 8 euro kwijt. Prijs/kwaliteit is wel ok, niet uitmuntend. De aankleding binnen is als een huiskamer. Toiletgroep is unisex (geen aparte mannen en vrouwen toilet).

Zeer slecht en een eigenaresse met veel arrogantie even een tosti eten met mijn vrouw 4,50 € voor een zeer kleine ronde tosti die aan de buitenkant erg droog was en toen ik in de midden van de tosti kwam proefde ik alleen maar kaas halverwege besloot ik de tosti te openen en ja hoor daar zaten goed verstopt 2 stukjes ham van 0,5 vierkante centimeter 🤣🤣 en als je aangeeft dat je gewend bent dat er een plak ham op een tosti hoort worden ze boos !! Want ze krijgen nooit klachten ,, jammer

We went to the terrace last Sunday afternoon. Drinks menu does not indicate prices, but a 25cl Heineken beer costs €4.50 at checkout. Unacceptable price despite a nice location. And also bad experience with unkempt toilet.

Whenever we come to Arnhem, we always make sure to have a nice lunch at 't Hemelrijk. Normally very tasty lunches. Unfortunately, today was apparently a bad day. Admittedly, it was quite busy, but after asking the waiter twice (after waiting more than half an hour) whether the food was still coming and asking for it after 45 minutes, it arrived after almost an hour! finally two baked rolls that were barely brown, with croquettes on the table. Inquiries yielded the comment that "something had apparently gone wrong", but no further explanation, let alone any excuse. We have quite a lot of patience, but if other guests who ordered after us receive their meal earlier, then something is clearly wrong. Very disappointing, we have really come to expect better from this restaurant, in terms of speed (even on busy days) and certainly in terms of food quality.

What a hidden gem! Absolutely loved the decor, the atmosphere, the coffee! I was able to work on my laptop for a few hours without issues. Very clean bathrooms.

De locatie is mooi maar dat is dan ook het enige positieve. De eigenaresse is enorm onbeleefd en praat op zeer neerbuigende toon tegen haar klanten. De tosti was nog half koud.

Ordered a veal ragout for lunch. For the price you could expect a well-filled lunch. We were very surprised when a tiny pancake with some ragout in it was served. No garnish included. It was gone in two bites. The ragout didn't taste good either. Shame. Owner responded. Claims lunch was €5.60. In reality €12.00. Also claims that there was garnish which is also incorrect. Again, BAD

We paid 12.50 or something for a loaf of Carpacio for which we then received a small sandwich. Without any raw vegetable sauces and a plastic container of butter, the Carpacio did not taste great either. Bad again!

Sunday afternoon: sat outside, were not noticed unfortunately, closed at 5 p.m. At 4.40 pm all the cushions on the chairs, including our table, were cleared away. I understand, but we had the feeling that we were not yet being "evicted"...
