As mentioned bij others- a rare experience - you can really feel and taste the freshness and care of home cooking. As we asked for vegan food the chef came to explain the options to us. You can see that he really loves what he is doing.

Service is a bit slow, but I had the time. Friendly service. Food was spectacular. Simply top-notch.

The website says: "The authenticity and quality of the products we make are very important to us." And you can taste and feel that. Fantastic rijsttafel. Good combinations. Also discoveries: dishes I had never eaten before. Everything beautifully presented, and served with love, pride, and a touch of humor. Tasty house wine, moreover.

Truly a fantastic restaurant! We ordered the rijsttafel for 3. You could easily eat there with four people as well. Really authentic flavors and the best satay we have eaten in the Netherlands.

Decided to try this place out due to the raving reviews but I was left disappointed. Took a while for them to offer me a menu and I had to ask for this. Being a tourist and not fluent in Dutch, there is no menu in English. Thankfully, I could understand some Indonesian words. Ordered rames rendang which took some time to arrive. Small portion, only few beef cubes and the taste was just alright. Priced at 20.50 euros which to me is quite expensive and doesn't allign with the service, experience and food.

Delicious, everything fresh and entirely homemade. Everything served was delicious. We found it better than the well-known Blauw.

In one word: amazing and really great service. The nice young waiter explained the rijsttafel my sisters and I had ordered. He went to great lengths to tell us about all the dishes, what they were, what was in them, and how they were made. The owner also came by the table afterwards to have a chat. What lovely people work there!!!! We had a delicious meal 😋

Ate here for the first time today. I haven't had such good Indonesian food in ages. Highly recommended. The service is attentive and friendly.

I had this for dinner on my last night in the Netherlands. It was so delicious. If I ever get the chance, I'd love to come back. The manager was also very kind.

Food was delicious, but charging 20.50 for a rendang rames that contained 3 [THREE!] cubes of beef on the plate is really pushing it 😭

The food was absolutely delicious; it felt like I'd been transported back to my childhood, and my Indonesian aunts had cooked for me. They also had lots of delicious vegan options—for example, they made the lumper with tempeh instead of meat and did a fantastic job. 100% recommended! We were also helped by a super friendly woman.

The taste is good, people are young and friendly. I didn't see the owner. We had to wait over an hour for the first dish to be served and then it was luke warm. Also issues with the two tables next to us. Very unfortunate, I had good contact and high expectations upfront.

Very nice service. 5 stars for that. But the food... unbelievable. I can't remember the last time I ate so badly. A completely overcooked, small chicken thigh. Tasteless sticky rice, a handful of overcooked, sad beans. €19.50. Another dish: lame marinated tofu with a pile of noodles and a few vegetables. Also €19.50. No, that can't be right.

In a word, fantastic! Refined flavors, and you can taste the love and care that went into making it. We'll be back soon.

Great rijsttafel, best spekkoek ever!

I was recently on a date and we came across this restaurant, Dapur Cinta. It was immediately met with a very beautiful heart at the front. We went in and were greeted at the entrance with politeness and cleanliness. The food was also delicious and tasty. We really enjoyed our rice table and the delicious dessert, homemade spekkoek. We went here with a smile and it is definitely recommended for everyone in the Utrecht area and beyond.

I came in with my partner 2 hours before closing time. You would say that it's an acceptable time to be served nicely and properly. It wasn't the case. Especially when we didn't order too much. 2 starters, 2 main dishes and a few drinks. They took such a long time to serve us, prioritizing even people that came after us. The starters were relatively tasty and even though everything was so slow, I was expecting that the main dishes to be at least good. But nope, i was served half raw chicken! How can you mess up chicken? The waitress did nothing about it. The other waitress was running after other clients who apparently payed the wrong check. Such a mess. I never write bad reviews or reviews in general. This place managed to be my worst experience I ever had at a restaurant in the Netherlands. I've been living in the Netherlands for the past 10 years and never been served half cooked meat before.

A wonderful little shop. Top-notch home cooking straight from Indonesia. Saté Kambing is a must. The food and service get top marks. The atmosphere too, because with food like this, it's not important. You create the atmosphere yourself at the table, and you're already zen-edged by the quality on your plate! Highly recommended!

The service is quite slow and we were forced to order a rijsttafel (rice table). After a huge fight we were given rendang instead of a rijsttafel. Definitely worth repeating, very tasty.

After a great documentary, Anak Indië about Indo's in the Netherlands in the Slachtstraat film theater, you can't help but look for authentic dishes from Indonesia. Dapur Cinta offers them, and everything is prepared with great love. The dishes are explained by the very amiable Edison and are deliciously flavored. We chose the saté Nusantara, the ayam bakar padang, preceded by delicious appetizers bakwan goreng and arem2. Finally, we tasted the onde2, dessert rasa cinta and es tape merah muda. You can taste the love for Indonesian cuisine in every dish. The restaurant is cozy with recognizable Indonesian elements such as wayang golek and wayang kulit and a painting by Marion Bloem that Edison and Susana have lost their hearts to and has been given a beautiful place in their restaurant. Most recognizable and loved is the palpable cordiality and hospitality. The choice of beautiful tableware that has to be washed by hand also says a lot about the inspiration of Susana and Edison. 👏🏻. The air conditioning is also great! Recommended!

We ate here yesterday with 20 people. Very pleasant and smooth in the communication beforehand. Good food, friendly staff and good service on the day itself; absolutely recommended.

We were planning to eat a burger until I walked past here in the Biltstraat. It looked cozy and we spontaneously walked in. After the extensive advice from the sympathetic young man, we were told again extensively about the food, where it came from and how they prepare it. These people work with passion!! Delicious food that is all homemade. My advice: Sate kamping and the rendang. Recommended!

We had not made a reservation but there was still a table for two in a crowded restaurant. The service was very friendly and helped us with our choice. It took a while before our dishes were served but as experienced Indonesia diners we understood this. Everything is freshly prepared so that means that none of the taste is lost. The dishes were exactly like in Indonesia, delicious. After dinner we had an extensive chat with the chef. What lovely people 🤗 and how they can cook 😋 Tip: come around 8:30 PM. Then the first guests leave and there is much more space. Enjoy 😊

What a hidden treasure! The owners take great pride in creating authentic dishes and the work shows through. Every bite was a treat. And the decor adds to the authentic experience telling stories from Indonesia. A small but well chosen wine list provides options that pair perfectly with the menu items.

Enjoyed a fantastic Indonesian rice table with friends and 2 smaller kids. We chose the sweet version of the dishes so the kids could sample everything and boy they did! They are a little of everything and we cleared the table easily. So lovely! Everything fresh and tasty 😋😍💯

Food was AMAZING, can vouch as a Southeast Asian :) If you're worried about spice, I'd say that it's actually quite good, not burning hot but enough kick (shiok ah!). We ate the rijjstafel, portion of 3 was good for 4 people. Allowed us to eat a variety of dishes, none of which disappointed 😋 Desert was great too, not too sweet but very satisfying. The staff were very polite and attentive too! They gave Kopiko in the end too hehe. Music and decor were very Indonesian too, love the authetic feel. Thank you to the owner and staff at Dapur Cinta!

When we came, we were suspicious why a restaurant with 4,8⭐️ was completely empty but do not be fooled! This was amazing! The service was very good, the waitress was very nice and explained everything we needed to us. The food was a slightly long wait but we know it’s being cooked downstairs by the 2 chefs and it was worth the wait: the Nasi Goreng was delicious!! The Rames Rendang (tenderloin beef with green beans) was also great, like “comfort food”. The grilled chicken with rice was very good too! (strong grilled flavor) Highly recommend! Desserts: Rasa Cinta: Didn’t expect this to taste cheesy🤔 the ice cream it was served with was good Klepon: Very unique unexpected flavor, the filling was good but I probably wouldn’t get it again. - I think these were interesting to try but I didn’t love them. For 8,50€ each I wouldn’t recommend getting them here. Beware that a large bottle of water cost 6,50€!!

Delicious. Highly recommended if you like good food! Everything, absolutely everything, is well prepared. The meat is wonderfully tender, every dish tastes different and the dishes are well balanced. Not too salty and certainly not too greasy. The dishes are authentic, the owner is very hospitable and also has nice stories about the origins of the dishes. The girl serving is also very friendly and has knowledge of what she serves. We will definitely come back!

Absolute gem. Not many restaurants have food that is this authentic, made with passion and dedication, and are still affordable. You can taste the love these owners and staff put into their dishes. The owners have so much knowledge and stories about recipes and food traditions, it is so interesting to talk to them. this restaurant stands out amidst of many other restaurants where owners are only in the business for profit. Visited this restaurant about 5 times and I am absolutely addicted. So far I have had the cinta rijsttafel, bakmie goreng, satay kambing, a nasi rames dish, spekkoek, onde onde. Everything is made to perfection. Satay kambing was a pleasant surprise as i didnt expect it to be this soft and tasty. Did not even need the sauce that accompanied the satay.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, nice service and owner. Everything is homemade and definitely worth the wait. The food is not too spicy and well seasoned. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes delicious Indonesian food.

Spectacular quality. I know all the Indonesian restaurants in the city and beyond, and this one is second to none. The design and operation are still a bit unfamiliar and new, but the rice table silences all criticism. I hope Dapur Cinta stays for a long time.

If you want really authentic Indonesian food then Dapur Cinta is the place!! How this couple has worked their way up together is truly respectful. I used to occasionally buy something at the market. They then opened their first restaurant in the center of Zeist. Tastier than this and made everything themselves without ready-made packages of boemboes, everything by hand and you can taste it. Great hardworking couple who make delicious food! Edison & Susana would love to come back again. Cindy

This is Indonesian food of a great standard. All herbal mixtures are composed in-house, fresh products of the best quality. Rendang with tenderloin instead of stew, all really fantastic.

Highly recommended! You could really taste that the food was homemade and that it was prepared with love. The service was great and knew everything about the food, super interesting! You feel welcome in the restaurant, a loving atmosphere.

We are fans! Very tasty food, I think so far the best Indonesian restaurant we know, in the Netherlands, very authentic flavors (we have also been to Indonesia). We had the rice table with Rendang. The Rendang tasted very authentic and was 'dry' as it should be and not bathed in sauce (although as a Dutch person I always like that). Personally, I might have used a little less cloves. The boy at the counter indicated that they use beef tenderloin because of the better quality of the meat and that it would be even more tender. It was indeed very tender, but I also make it myself and brisket or rib steaks are tasty because of the fat in them, which also gives off flavor and keeps it tender. So I didn't think it was of any added value, since if you have good meat at all, you are going to stew it. We asked if we could get satay kambing instead of the chicken, which was possible, but 2 skewers instead of 4 because of the price difference, that was a good choice, because it has been a long time since I have eaten such tasty, tender kambing!! Everything was actually tasty, except the prawn crackers, which we found a bit too hard and dry and the gado gado sauce was a bit 'too subtle' and therefore a bit more boring. For dessert we had fried banana and homemade spekkoek. The fried banana was fine. You could really taste the bacon biscuit that it was fresh and homemade, very nice. I had never tasted that anywhere before so I have no comparison material, but it tasted a bit like crepes. It was tasty, but I missed a bit of the spices I know, but like I said, I only knew the ready-made ones. The service was young and very friendly and knew everything there was to know. Decor is a bit tacky, but it's all about the food. Didn't go to the toilet. The reason it is not 5 stars, but only 4, is that there is a note in the hall with the message 'if you break something, you have to pay for it'. I have worked in the catering industry for 20 years and have never experienced this and I really don't think such a message is acceptable. And judging by the negative reviews, this was sometimes enforced... Very unfortunate, because that's why I was eating a lot less relaxed, because the table was very full due to the rice table we had... There are smarter ways to solve that. If the owner wants to brainstorm about this, let him know!

Flat flavors, for good Indonesian food you have to wait. We fully understand that, but if you don't get prawn crackers or something else savory, it's a big mistake. Not Indonesian worthy. There isn't even sambal on the table. They charge more than 2.50 for that. The service consists of 2 students who have no experience at all. No owner to be found. The toilets are a mess. Once but never again!

We had a wonderful meal at Dapur Cinta and were warmly welcomed by Edison and Susana. I ate nasi ayam bakar padang. The dish was delicious. The restaurant is cozy and the couple who own the restaurant are very hospitable. The service is friendly. Highly recommended!

Super cute restaurant in the center of Utrecht. Upon entering, you immediately receive a warm welcome and a nice atmosphere. The food was really excellent! You could really taste that everything was made with a lot of love, we really enjoyed it. In addition, owner Edison tells with a lot of passion and enthusiasm how the dishes are made and some fun facts about Indonesia. We really enjoyed it immensely and I recommend everyone to visit here! This was a fantastic experience 🙏🏼♥️

Ordered a rice table for 3 people with 3 glasses of wine. Rijsttafel was good and more than sufficient. Accidentally one of us knocked over the glass of wine and the glass broke. Can happen. To our astonishment we were charged for the new glass of wine plus 6 euros for the glass. I have never experienced this before and find it extremely customer unfriendly. So no tip!

Really love this food. We have been to the restaurant in Zeist when they were located there. We fell in love with their food, dedication, enthusiasm and authenticity. Now that they're located in Utrecht we're able to visit more often as it's more conveniently located for us. Their food is still as good, real and authentic as before. We love that they do not compromise on quality. We enjoyed a great rijsttafel, each and every dish executed to perfection. We ended with a delicious homemade spekkoek. We look forward to coming back soon!

Nice place, friendly staff and owner. Extensive explanation of the dishes. Rijsttafel was very tasty. Authentic flavors. There are 2 points of criticism, it was served quite lukewarm and towards the end it was just cold. And then we had a quick meal. Maybe serve on a warming plate. For us personally it was also too little. And that, together with the fact that the food was lukewarm, means that we will not be back.

The food is good. The service was extremely poor. We waited 1 h before being able to eat: 30 min to have the menu and ask for drinks. Both drinks and food came at different times which is not good if you want to eat together. I had big expectations for the reviews, but I don’t think it met the expectations. I won’t come a second time.

We had to wait some time for the food since we passed by spontaneously which was okay because the waitress told us upfront it might take some time since they are only two people. This is a good Indonesian restaurant that serves the standard dishes Dutch people would expect at an Indonesian, plus a few less well known options, especially for dessert. The owners do obviously really love their restaurant and love to cook too. I enjoyed the food, but I'm not totally sure I agree it's "the best in the Netherlands" as some reviews seem to be indicating. It's just a good Indonesian!

Best Indonesian restaurant I have tasted. Everything is home-made! The satay as a starter was particularly tasty: phenomenal sauce, very tender meat and slightly smokey. We opted for the vegetarian rice table and oh boy, what a flavor bomb! Literally every dish was very tasty. The explanation was also very nice to finally hear. Our dessert spekkoek was also absolutely great, paired well with the Indonesian coffee. When I'm in Utrecht I will definitely come back!
