We had a wonderful meal; the mixed grill dish of the day was delicious. The bread was a starter, and the lava cake was delicious. Highly recommended, and affordable.

A dream, an exceptional welcome despite the language difference the waitress took the time to explain things to us well we even had the menu translated into French, in addition the dishes were delicious and generous for a 3 course menu price of €29 and we were even able to adapt it to our digestive problems, I'm keeping this restaurant in my favorites.

Friendly service, tasty daily special for a fair price, 12.50 euros. We went for the mixed fish. Salmon perfectly cooked, sole okay, tasty fries and good vegetable dish. We found the Portuguese wine to be on the sweet side, but it was easy to drink.

Het ia een mooi klein tentje in Leeuwqtden. Betaalbaar en dus heel erg druk. Het restaurant heeft voldoende personeel. We hadden mixed grill (dagmenu) het was echter heel erg weinig, minister stukjes vlees en bovendien oneetbaar omdat het te ver was doorgebroken. Het stukje sparerib was echt keihard. Letterlijk niet te eten dus

Ordered daily menu. Less than 20 euros per person for soup, dish of the day and dessert. Carafe of water is free (you don't see that everywhere). Choice of soup and all desserts. Daily meal choice of fish or meat. Possibly also vegetarian, but I'm not sure. Tasty food for a very good price. Service extremely friendly and interested. A bit noisy due to the crowds and acoustics. Definitely recommended.

Tried the "dish of the day" today: my husband opted for meat (trio beef/chicken/pork) and I opted for fish (salmon/tuna). Both meat and fish were served with care, and both main courses were tasty and tender. Serve with salad and fries as a garnish. Enjoy a beer, delicious coffee and a tasty cookie. What more could a person want? And that for €34!!!

A super nice restaurant with really tasty food! It is not huge, but that gives it a homely and cozy atmosphere. The food is really very good, every time. Drinking is also fine. Staff are always nice and welcoming. You should definitely book in advance, especially on weekends. The Daghap is clearly described on social media. It's always very busy, a good sign. The food is also super fresh, home-made fries and tasty salads.

Delicious and cozy food, with a great variety of menus and also very affordable. I think it is useful to make a reservation, we were on a Sunday and around half past seven it was quite full. Worth repeating.

I was introduced to this nice restaurant on Saturday evening. What is immediately noticeable upon entering is the cozy atmosphere and the characteristic building. The service is friendly and attentive. We had a cozy spot by the window. The map is concise and therefore clear. Especially because they also have varying specials, there is something for everyone and plenty to choose from. We had a delicious meal for a reasonable price. All in all we had a very nice evening at Dax. Definitely worth repeating!

There is one big “but” though: We could trough our entire visit, watch both of the waiters every time they prepared anything to drink with ice cubes, grab them out of the bucket with their bare hands and put them in the glass! NO washing hands first or anything. Likewise straight after the ice, bare hands into the bowl with lemon slices and into the glass. After that handeling all bottles and menus and everything- and then the next order of drinks with bare hands - no washing at all!! To be honest we personally find that very gross!! But other than that- everything else was fine

Heerlijk gegeten voor een schappelijke prijs. Het glaasje water bij de lekkere wijn maakte het af. Vriendelijk, behulpzaam en deskundig personeel. Sfeervolle plek. Staat op nummer 1 bij ons volgende bezoek aan Leeuwarden. Was de ervaring in andere restaurants altijd maar zo goed.

Best place to eat in Leeuwarden. You can tell that hospitality and quality are of paramount importance at Dax. The food is always top quality and the service is fast. I would recommend everyone to try it for themselves! The only downside is that I cannot give more stars for this excellent gastrobar! Hidde

Great tent. But not for vegetarians. Because the daily snack varies daily. But the vegetarian one is always 'farmer's fries'. Fries with some vegetables. Missed opportunity.

We stood in front of the restaurant and asked if there was still room. It was actually full, but they still managed to find a spot for us. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The service was very friendly and the food is very good. In our opinion, highly recommended, we will definitely come back! :)

What a great restaurant! Attentive and friendly service with an eye for the guest! The food was excellent and more than enough. Where else can you find a three-course daily menu for €17.50 (!). It was a good thing we made a reservation, the place was full within half an hour and we understand why! Recommended!

A really great place! Extremely friendly staff, casual atmosphere, old-fashioned low prices and simply delicious food. No mega (too large) portions, but a sandwich from the house in advance and a delicious salad and fries. What a recommendation!

Amazing place for dinner! The place is cozy and personnel is very welcoming. I had soup and steak of the week, food quality is really great at a fair price! The waiters will help you with beer/wine choice. I was positively surprised, and will recommend everybody!

One of the BEST restaurants in town. Very affordable prices, delicious food. I recommend to get the Dax menu which consists of soup main course and the best part is you can pick your dessert only for 17,50€. Met zijn vijven allerlei verschillende schotels besteld en die waren perfect en smakelijk bereid met ruimte porties voor een hele schappelijke prijs. Sympathieke bediening, dus wij vinden het een absolute aanrader! Bedankt voor het fijne en gezellige etentje.

Dit is een restaurant dat voor ons een maatstaf is geworden. Alle andere restaurant ervaringen worden vanaf nu met Dax vergeleken. Erg moeilijk aan te tippen. Ongelofelijk goed. We zijn in twee en een halve week, drie keer teruggekeerd. Zo goed dat het is. De bediening is geweldig. Heel behulpzaam en geduldig. Ik zou dit 10 sterren geven als ik zou kunnen. Zeker een tip voor studenten, maar ook voor families :)

Blown away by the service, food, and atmosphere of this restaurant. The knowledge of the wines and beers by our serving waiter was fantastic. He was helpful and knowledgeable as well as happy to allow tastings. The food was fabulous while the atmosphere was welcoming and very comfortable. Price was very reasonable, particularly for the beautiful dishes served.
