Delicious food! Nothing to complain about. One of the best desserts in perhaps years. Maybe a nice wooden/PVC floor and cozy furniture and it really is a chic restaurant.

The food is simply to die for! We were simply thrilled and can only warmly recommend this restaurant. The service is very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is modern and yet very cozy, Frisian nice...and that in October, in the low season. The restaurant has a very picturesque location right on the water. This restaurant is a real insider tip! We'll definitely be back.

Restaurant "De Kade" is located in a quiet location on the Pikmeer in Grou. Because it is a bit out of the way, it will be less known than the busy "Tea House" further away. We have certainly not discovered it before during our many years of water sports in Friesland. And that's a shame, because you can undoubtedly eat delicious and honest food here! The restaurant is not large and the decor is simple, with a wide view of the kitchen. You can also sit outside on the terrace by the water. The staff is friendly and attentive: a detail such as introducing yourself is immediately noticeable in a positive way. Small point of criticism: do not ask the customer in advance which wine he or she would like to drink if you have not yet provided the menu, because the choice of the dish also largely determines the wine you choose. We had the soup of the day, which was a delicious thickened leek soup. As a main course we chose the delicious "quay steak" resp. the short ribs. Both dishes arrived freshly dressed on the table, with the edible flowers providing an original accent. The other accessories such as bacon, garlic, creams and sweet potato formed a neat whole with the meat. Both the steak and ribs were of excellent quality! Two delicious and original desserts (baked sugar bread with cinnamon and sabayon with fresh red fruit) completed a successful dinner! It is good to know that most dishes can also be ordered in smaller portions, which is nice for not so big eaters or if you want to try or combine several dishes. I can definitely recommend this restaurant!

The dishes are all! really very tasty and fresh. No matter whether it is soup, beef, chicken or fish VERY GOOD AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very friendly and hospitable place! There was a good wind and before the children could say they were cold, the blankets were handed to them. The children had a toasted sandwich, on delicious thick, fresh bread. Today the 12 o'clock meal included celeriac soup, surprising, not everyday, but very tasty! Just like the quay burger, the combination of, among other things. sweet and sour zucchini, mustard, onions, BBQ sauce and a very well prepared piece of meat tasted excellent.

Unfortunately, when you have to go to the toilet, you automatically look to the right in the sink or something like that. Needs major maintenance!!! Toilets themselves could be a bit cleaner. Seats inside are clean and quite nice, friendly service. Food and drinks good.

The nicest address in Grou! The cote de boeuf in particular is simply fantastic: slowly cooked on the BBQ, the chef knows what he is doing 👍👍. Fine wines, but the deserts are also worth a try! Do yourself a favor and call them to order a cote de b in advance 😉👍

Delicious food. We chose to be surprised by the chef. I can recommend that to everyone. Each course was explained what it was and how it was prepared. Also very nice to see how proud the chef was of his own work. These people work with all their heart and soul to put a delicious meal on the table.

Incredibly delicious food. The waiter gave us a choice: either the menu or a surprise from the chef. Chose the latter... and what a good choice it was! Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. Before dinner, we enjoyed the sun outside on the terrace with a recommended wine (Sicilian). Then we ate a 3-course menu in peace and quiet. Particularly enjoyed asparagus with sauce and entercote with various special vegetables.

An amazingly delicious experience! The speciale of the day/week were phenomenal! Very fresh food and creative combinations. A bit more challanging if you were to look for Vegan options. But plenty of meet free alternatives available. The staff was super lovely, chef came out to ask about the food and the entire experience was like being in someone's dinning room, but with exquisit food.

Ate one tuna sandwich here today. And it was literally 1 roll with a little tuna and a few lettuce leaves And the fact that you can pay 12.50 for this is really a ridiculous price for such a meager sandwich. Later I made myself a sandwich at home. Really far below par in terms of price/quantity. Tip: First ask how big the portion is, otherwise you can have lunch again at home, just like us.

Great! To eat, to enjoy, to be happy!... Definitely go, you should actually keep such tips to yourself, but you have to support this great cuisine and the wonderful people, where else can you find something like that! We felt treated so lovingly and specially, attentively by Christiaan and Emile! Thank you for a special wedding day!!!! We'll definitely be back.

The food was fresh and tasty, but the meat wasn't to our liking and unfortunately there was no difference between large and small, only in the price. Large costs 8 euros more, but we don't know why.

Oh dear people, what a wonderful time it was with Emile and Femmalyn last night. The atmosphere is always great anyway! Christiaan is a great host and the food! I ate the vegetarian chef's menu, and what a wealth of flavors it was. It just left me speechless. And a nice glass of wine made it complete. Thank you for this beautiful evening. 🙏

Wonderful place to grab dinner! The crew is especially friendly, and can handle any need or question in either Dutch, (West) Frisian, or English - and probably some German too, given the amount of German boaters utilizing the canals. The food was great, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! Reservations are recommended.

We had dinner here yesterday with three colleagues during our working weekend in Thialf! What a company this is with fun, friendly and enthusiastic staff. The food is of top quality and tasted excellent. I will definitely be back and would recommend this as a detour!

What a gift! Spontaneously ended up at De Kade on Christmas Day. Quite exciting things on the menu that I would otherwise never choose, but wow, what taste sensations. The enthusiasm alone about the chef's and host's explanation of what they presented to us was already an experience, because of enthusiasm and passion! Just the explanation makes your mouth water. Artists are how dishes came together and how everything fits together to perfection. Appetizers for certain dishes so that the taste was neutralized and so we can continue. Everything has been thought of. Sublime! Thank you for this experience

Wat een cadeautje! Spontaan beland bij De Kade op 1e kerstdag. Best wel spannende dingen op het menu die ik anders nooit zou kiezen maar jeetje wat een smaak sensaties. Het enthousiasme alleen al over de uitleg van de kok en de gastheer wat ze ons voorschotelden was al een belevenis, want een enthousiasme en passie! Alleen bij de uitleg loopt het water je al in de mond. Kunstenaars zijn het hoe gerechten bij elkaar zijn gekomen en hoe alles tot perfectie bij elkaar past. Amuses voor bepaalde gerechten zodat de smaak werd geneutraliseerd en zo kunnen we wel door gaan. Aan alles is gedacht. Subliem! Dankjewel voor deze ervaring

What a gem! We had a pleasant evening here and had a delicious meal. Personal attention from fun and enthusiastic employees and chef. There is a good atmosphere in this restaurant. Herbs and vegetables come from our own vegetable garden. The food is beautifully served. We tasted flavors we didn't know before. Highly recommended to spend the evening here!

Superlekker met zijn vijven gegeten en genoten van een enorme gastvrijheid!!! Bij binnenkomst hadden wij andere verwachtingen (het idee van een snackbar…), maar het tegengestelde was waar. Erg verzorgd eten en een hele goede en alerte bediening. Een aanrader!

Waren heute mit 3 Personen da, alle Gerichte waren geschmacklich sehr gut und ausreichend! Der Service sehr gut und freundlich! Der Wein war wohl temperiert und sehr lecker. Preis stand total im Verhältnis!

Hier gegeten met een ondernemersnetwerk. Vooraf geen al te hoge verwachtingen. Ter plekke blij verrast met alles en vooral de persoonlijke sfeer. Toen we aankwamen met ietwat fris zomer weer, stond zowel buiten als binnen een grote tafel voor ons gereserveerd. Dus heerlijk buiten geborreld, toen naar binnen, wel erg vol met onze groep, maar heerlijk gegeten, attente bediening, je voelt je echt welkom bij deze jonge ondernemers. Opvallend ook: fijne communicatie in het team, wat je toch meekrijgt met zo'n open keuken achterin. Respect voor het team!

Ontbijt via social deal. Waren te laat maar daar was geen probleem. Had een verzoek met briefje bij t ontbijt maar dat was geen probleem. Geen gehaast. Vriendelijke bediening super enthousiast. Mooie plek. Met prachtig uitzicht.

Eten verrukkelijk! Fantasierijk en gevarieerd menu! Bediening vrolijk en vriendelijk met deskundig advies. Toplocatie! Kortom ga zelf genieten!

Perfect restaurant. Als je weet hoe je super zachte zalm aankleed met lekkere sauzen. Eigen groentes uit de tuin knapperig bereid. En dan ook nog eens een hele goede portie friet neer kan zetten. Dan krijg je 5 sterren.

Delicious food with super kind staffs. We ordered their Veg. Lasagna and Veg. Burger. Both were really delicious. However, the burger wasn't that special. The Lasagna was really tasty..!! We enjoyed our time a lot and we'll come back definitely..!!

Wauw! Wat een cadeautje. Blij verrast met de meest smakelijke soep en broodjes. Yummie! Wat een toppertjes. 5 sterren meer dan verdiend. Uit de eigen moestuin ook. Dat was niet alleen erg lekker maar zag er ook geniaal uit.

Lekker gegeten en gedronken. Restaurant gelegen op een mooie locatie in de haven. Vlotte bediening.

Hartelijk ontvangen en goede informatie over het eten. Het eten was voortreffelijk en vooral het dessert....suikerbrood...Mmmm..heerlijk

Het was erg lekker. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Helaas waren de bijgerechten voor de biefstuk erg beperkt, en er waren er geen voor de hamburger. Ik had iets anders verwacht voor de prijzen. Ik kwam niet aan mijn trekken.
