We wanted to shelter from the rain here with two babies, but upon arrival we were immediately told that breastfeeding and changing in the restroom were prohibited. Super hospitable, not.

Food is amazing, service is great, and the place looks stunning. The only problem i have is that for the prices they charge, i would've expected a little more.

The food was delicious and the hospitality and service were top notch, we were regularly asked if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else, the quality was definitely worth the price, I definitely recommend this restaurant and I would love to come back myself.

Sent back 4 pieces of meat, received raw prawns, and charged €4.75 for a bottle of lukewarm beer. Open kitchen with unprofessional chefs. Rarely have I seen such bad service in the hospitality industry.

Went to dinner with a group at a quiet time. Several pieces of meat were returned, and they were delivered as shoe soles. Furthermore, some pieces of meat were automatically delivered medium-rare, and then given as shoe soles. We were told several times that new pieces of meat would arrive, but never received them... The chef was also FaceTimed and vaping in the kitchen. Then, a €1200 bill was marked as €16 deductible due to the inconvenience.

Worst steakhouse I have ever been to, ordered ribeye medium. Got it back shoe sole position, got new one and this ribeye was almost alive with about 25 tendons in it never experienced that before. Chef is also facetiming in the kitchen, and they are vaping in the kitchen. very bad experience.

Four people dined at the Admiral. An experience in itself👍 Varied menu, fast service. Don't choose too large an appetizer; the portions are close to the main course. Tender meat, well-grilled, in generous quantities. So come with an empty stomach. The atmosphere is good, although we were unfortunately seated next to a larger group who were quite noisy. The staff can't do anything about it, but it does create a rather unsettling impression when you can't make yourself heard at the table...but otherwise, we had a great evening and a delicious meal 👍

The food was delicious! Price/quality ratio perfect. And a super nice restaurant!

It just wasn't all that. Medium rare was well done. Sweet spare ribs was spicy. Tzatsiki with carrot and dill? The meat of the 4 of us (tbone, ribeye, tenderloin/chicken skewer) was not great. Starters: carpaccio, bread board and feta saganaki were tasty.

We had our Christmas dinner here with 8 people, and we were very disappointed with the price/quality. The service was also very messy. There was even an error during checkout, but after telephone contact the difference was refunded. Disappointing experience during Christmas dinner We were really looking forward to our dinner over the holidays, but this restaurant unfortunately disappointed our evening. We had made a reservation at 7:15 PM, but were not seated until 8:00 PM. The table also turned out to be much too small for our group, so we could hardly sit comfortably. To make matters worse, half of the Christmas menu was sold out. The staff seemed overwhelmed and solutions were not forthcoming. The food itself was substandard. The moussaka was dry, tasteless, and nothing like what an authentic moussaka should taste like. The meat, which we ordered medium, came to the table rare. This while the prices were considerably higher than normal. The pieces of meat were still good to eat. All in all a very disappointing experience. For these prices and with the expectations of a Christmas menu, we expected much more. We won't be coming back here again.

Barely bad service. Made a reservation, but only after waiting more than 30 minutes was the table too small for our group. Christmas menu of which half of the dishes are gone. Starters that we eventually received were downright bad. The meat for the main course was tender and tasty, but not medium fried as we ordered. Very bad. Reserve well in advance. Upon arrival we have to wait half an hour for a table. Once at the table we were told that several dishes on the menu were no longer available. As a starter I got the prawn salad with garlic butter. A bed of arugula with 4 slices of lemon and 5 prawns without garlic butter is what you get for 17 euros. Then prepare a diamond tenderloin with medium pepper sauce. A diamond tenderloin rare is what I got, but it was fine to eat. For dessert a grand dessert. Once on the table, the ice cream had all melted. While paying, the owner pointed out that we should have indicated in advance that we wanted to use the 3-course menu instead of individual dishes, while there was only one menu. This ultimately made the voucher a lot more expensive than it should have been. This was eventually resolved successfully. All in all, the food was fine, but not what was ordered and certainly not worth the price. So not recommended

Made a reservation at 7.15 pm and were seated at the bar, ok, that was possible, it was busy on Christmas Day, the group in front was late. Eventually a table was made when ordering, it turned out that one starter had run out (carpaccio), then it turned out that 2 dishes of the main course had run out (t-bone and the ribeye). 1 person had ordered moussaka, which had no taste and was dried out and sent back. One dish of the dessert was also gone. The starter of prawns in garlic was terrible...a bit of wilted arugula topped with slices of lemon with 4 or 5 prawns (garlic hard to find) with a lemon butter sauce. The meat was ok but not as medium as medium should be, a tiny scoop of cold beans and deepened peas were added. The mushroom sauce had thickened and had been standing for a while (skin on the sauce)...the lettuce in the container was a bit brown around the edges. When we asked for all this, the bill was asked at the table and it turned out that there were various dishes and drinks on the receipt that we had not had (t-bone, ribeye and 2 x mojito and a few other things), but with a lot of effort we paid less, but never again! !!!!!!!!!. Delicious food in a beautiful historic building and the service is excellent. Definitely recommended

What started as a wonderful evening out with friends ended in a disastrous deception. We entered the establishment in good spirits, but we were met with a chilly atmosphere. The Christmas music was on for the first half hour, which was still somewhat pleasant. All alarm bells started ringing: how can such a large restaurant be so lowly occupied on a Saturday evening?! A more appropriate name would be restaurant De Roze wolk: more staff than people. Also more fruit flies than people. The operating staff had little knowledge. For example, it was not clear whether the soup of the day was mushroom or tomato soup. If I wanted to gamble, I would go to the casino. The chicken wings beforehand were rancid. I don't think there is any deep fryer that contains as much fat as these wings. After eating this far too greasy starter I felt like I could jump into the shower again. However, I could have bathed in the clogged sink in the toilet. The mixed grill was no party either. First of all it was missing sauce. Fortunately it arrived later, but this could just as easily have been wallpaper paste. In addition, the fries were undercooked. The spareribs were according to Egyptian recipe: drier than the desert. Next we looked at the misspelled dessert menu (with two s's instead of one). The cheesecake was OK. When the power suddenly went out, it was complete for me personally. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. All in all, I paid way too much for food that I could get from the freezer section of Lidl.

Had a bad experience... they forgot my starter and I ordered the salmon and it was far too small and far too crispy, the side dish was also cold. The atmosphere in the Admiraal was really great. However, the service was not very good. The food was not really convincing for us either. I'm sorry to say this, but I can't make a recommendation. In fact, I have rarely visited a restaurant where I was so disappointed afterwards.

We were here with a larger group, but that was no problem. The service was friendly and has a sense of humor, which is very nice when you are there with a large group of mainly men. The food was excellent, but what I thought was especially special was that the service did everything they could to ensure you had a pleasant evening. Someone with diabetes? No problem, we will arrange a bowl of fresh fruit instead of the desserts on the menu. The interior of the restaurant is great, lots of old elements, really atmospheric. Recommended!!

Service is really terrible! Glasses were grabbed at the top, orders were forgotten and we had to wait far too long for bread and main courses. Food was great, so that saved the evening somewhat..

I came to eat with 5 others and when we ordered food at 6:00 PM, the children's menu and two bread boards arrived almost immediately, but when a friend had to leave and another friend arrived later and we were going to order our main course, we had to 1: 30 minutes waiting for our food, there was 1 time and error with all our drinks that we had to mention again and we had ordered and 1 time we had to pass on our food again.

Had dinner here with the team, had a fantastic evening. Food was very good, highly recommended. Lots of fun with the staff, but also seriously addressed a request for sugar-free ice cream. This was not available, but was then solved very creatively, really classy and everything was done to make it a success. Big shout out to the team that night.

If you happen to be in Zwolle and would like to have a nice meal in a nicely decorated restaurant with really friendly staff, then be sure to visit the Admiraal in Zwolle This restaurant is tastefully decorated and is located in a historic building. The design refers to the time of the VOC and that the Netherlands had many overseas territories. The menu contains something for everyone, from starter to dessert, and vegetarian options have certainly been taken into account. If you order meat medium or rare, you will actually get it medium or rare and for a reasonable price today. The drinks menu is neat and includes various beers as well as soft drinks and wine. This one is also for a decent price. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Service at the time of a visit with a large group was reasonably fast and polite. If something is not on the menu, it is sometimes possible to get it anyway. Many restaurants can still learn something from this. Parking has always been an issue in Zwolle when it comes to parking prices. If you don't mind the cost, you can go to Q-park on the Maagjesbolwerk and be two steps into the restaurant. Keep in mind that within 2 to 3 hours you will be paying €18 for parking. It can also be cheaper, but then you have to walk a little further, for example by parking at the cinema or at the Turfmarkt. In summary, a restaurant that is definitely recommended if you want to eat tasty and good food for a reasonable price in a nice ambiance and with friendly and very helpful staff. Groups no problem. Always call to make a reservation, but I don't think just walking in will be a problem. Please pay attention to parking and check in advance where you want to do so. Zwolle is not a cheap city for parking and the costs vary considerably.

What a great time we had tonight! First of all, from the first moment outside, we were received very hospitably. The 2 children immediately felt at home. The service was great! The food was delicious! And a dessert... not (yet) on the menu... But highly recommended! Turkish baklava with ice cream, delicious! And we were allowed to taste a piece of Syrian baklava... They say: love goes through the stomach. You could taste all the love in this food. Really delicious! If baklava is added to the dessert menu, we will eat our dessert here from now on! We received our starter, but 1 starter was not the correct starter. Was said sorry within 6 minutes you will have the right thing. 6 minutes ended up being 35 minutes. Went here for dinner today. Had to wait an hour for our food when it arrived it was cold. This indicated another half hour wait and got sharp variant of my food instead of the sweet one. Then I tried to eat it, but it just wasn't tasty. Given and said you can bring the bill, I could pay full price for food of which I had 3 bites. Was my first and my last time as the admiral.

Nice restaurant, funny to see that this is now a diner while it used to be a dance bar. However, the food unfortunately gets fewer stars. In terms of portions and taste it was okay to fine. But there was no taking into account someone who is pregnant and ordered well-done meat. She received the meat red on her plate, even though she had asked for really well done meat. When we said something about this, the waitress wanted to ask if we could get another piece of meat. This was not done, but it would have been nicer if the person had discussed what she would like. Now the waitress just walked away. Furthermore, glasses were not cleared when new glasses were brought (entire table full of empty glasses) and the plates were half (?) cleared after the waitress asked if she could clear them. It just wasn't all! Shame.

I had a hamburger. For a whopping 21 euros (!!!) a meal that was not satisfactory in terms of taste or quality. Fries were plentiful and good. Overall, however, I expected more. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice. Service very attentive.

Ate here with a group of 8 people. Service is very friendly and pays close attention to whether or not something is going well. We had looked at the menu online and ordered a luxury snack board (for 4 as a starter) but it turned out (so stupid of course...) we had looked on another website. There's also an admiral elsewhere. So when the appetizer board arrived we were a bit disappointed (no fried prawns but cheese sausage and something to nibble on). Totally our own fault but the owner offered to add bread boards (from the business). Super accommodating! Main courses were all very popular! Meat was well cooked and very tasty. We did not choose a dessert because it was all very filling (for example, our table companion had half a sparerib as a starter) and the choice for dessert is limited (3 options). Did you have a nice evening!

The owner has renovated the former residence of Admiral Van Braam into a unique landmark. Really something special. Real treat. Had a nice dinner and spare ribs with the family. The first time was purely by chance, we passed by there and went in without a reservation. You will be welcomed warmly into a beautiful medieval accommodation. There is a warm atmosphere with friendly service. The food was to die for. We enjoyed it so much. We immediately knew that we would go here more often. We were very satisfied.

Wow what a great restaurant, we ended up here during a competition where we had to hitchhike. Ambiance food and service was absolutely wonderful. Delicious food and definitely recommended in the city center of Zwolle. In response to an assignment, I was even allowed to print because it was so difficult to carry out the assignment on the telephone. Really great employees!

Atmosphere like in an old German restaurant, a bit of a shame about the spotlights in the ceiling that gave off a bit too bright light. But that's really the only thing: good food and drinks for a reasonable price, beautiful meat really from the BBQ (Green egg), and also with attention to the layout and finishing. Food was great! I love the decor as well. We ordered the mix grill and a soup. They forgot the soup so took bit longer but that was fine. Only thing we didn't like was the service from few waiters. They seem very uninterested and gives a bad vibe except for one girl. She was amazing, working hard, attention to details and very friendly. Hope the management sees that as well.

We had a delicious meal. Had a mixed grill. More than enough meat of good quality and nicely seasoned. One of the people eats gluten-free, but they don't mind that either. Ate here on Christmas Day. Despite the (limited) Christmas menu with a nice menu, the service and the kitchen could not cope. The young people in the ministry are probably willing, but clearly do not master the profession. The experienced clerk was visibly stressed. It was noticeable that something went wrong. Starters were quite okay but main courses were poor. Venison steak and skewer cold, tasteless and wild mushrooms were like pieces of plastic. Dishes were too poor and the men therefore ordered extra fries. Price-quality is absolutely out of proportion. This is 1x...

Ate here on Christmas Day tonight. Eight people were seated at a table that was more suitable for six people, very cramped. Very bright lighting that could not be dimmed. Everything took a very long time to happen: taking and delivering drinks, taking food orders. Very long wait for the food itself. Main course arrived two and a half hours after we entered. Poor service, wrong things brought, no knowledge of the menu, etc. As for the food, the carpaccio and spare ribs were tasty. The venison steak, pork tenderloin and sauce had almost no flavor and the tournedos was well done even though medium was requested. Skipped dessert because we were really fed up with the whole situation. As compensation, 1 round of drinks was taken off the bill. But still: Bad experience. We won't be coming back here again. Had dinner here with a group on Saturday. The atmosphere is fine, the service very awkward, disinterested and somewhat inexperienced. I think this illustrates the problems that the catering industry can no longer get experienced people or they consciously opt for cheap workers. The food was very disappointing. A piece of chicken was raw inside and the taste was bland and monotonous. Boring flavors. The skewer was lukewarm and two pieces of meat were gray in color. Just leave that alone. Not worth repeating for us. The staff had to be beckoned over and over while they were chatting behind and in front of the bar. A staff member was eating conspicuously behind the bar. No background music. Actually, this place should close until they have experienced, motivated and fun staff and a much better chef. This food is not restaurant worthy. I would have liked to write a good review, but we get the strong impression that these people are playing 'restaurant' and don't care about quality or the guest.

We ate here twice a few years ago and were really pleased with the food and everything, so we thought we'd take our daughter and her boyfriend here. The staff walking around did not really give the impression that they were enjoying themselves and we had to ask certain things several times. The 4 of us had ordered bread with spreads in advance and we received a very sparse plate with 3 mini square rolls of 3 cm and a few slices of baguette. 3 people mixed grill and 1 wanted the vegetarian quiche because she doesn't eat meat, that wasn't there at all. Then she took the vegetarian hamburger (mushroom), the bottom of which was completely soggy and our meat was tough and didn't have much flavor. Except for the sparerib, which was fine. Dessert was also fine, but it was a shame that there was only a choice of 3 desserts. But because everything felt like a downer, we decided that we will not eat here anymore. For those 200 euros it is no longer worth it.

The atmosphere was extremely beautiful and authentic. The starters and main dishes we chose were excellent. The meats were cooked just the way we wanted. Prices could be a bit more affordable, but considering the taste of the food, I can still say it's normal. If you visit Zwolle, you can add it to your list for a nice evening meal.

Verrassend lekker gegeten.. voor een zondagavond zeer weinig gasten (met ons erbij 3 tafeltjes) maar we hebben het toch gegokt en eerlijk is eerlijk het was zalig. Zeer snelle bediening (misschien iets te snel) maar heerlijk gedineerd..

Heerlijk gegeten en gedronken, de mixed grill genomen en die was zeker een enorme aanrader. Wel bijna ruim 45 min op het eten gewacht voor 4 personen vandaar de 3 sterren service maar de medewerkers waren wel enorm vriendelijk.

Wat een geweldige sfeer en super personeel, vriendelijk hebben aandacht voor je en heel behulpzaam. De indeling van de admiraal maakt het dat je het gevoel hebt dat het intiem is, verschillende hoogtes en mooie afzonderlijke plekjes als je met zijn tweeën wil zitten💙 We mochten zelf kiezen hoe lang we ongeveer tussen de gangen wouden hebben. Erg allert op een leeg glas, zat nooit zonder zelfs mijn glaasje water bij de wijn werd telkens bijgevuld. Het eten was ook super, veel smaak en goede porties de spare ribs een aanrader het vlees valt van het bot en heerlijk mals! Ook de carpaccio vooral was geweldig! Wij waren al een tijdje niet geweest maar gaan zeker weer komen! Bedankt voor een heerlijke avond!

Heerlijk gegeten, chicken wings , spareribs, burgers en diamanthaas gehad waren heerlijk.

Niet vragen hoe je je rib-eye wilt hebben en dan een stuk vlees voorgeschoteld krijgen dat deels dienst kan doen als schoenzool. Idem voor de diamanthaas die mijn vriendin heeft besteld. Daar werd wel gevraagd naar de gewenste garing, maar dat is genegeerd met een well done steak tot gevolg.

The place is cosy and very nice like an pub. The service is alao very good and friendly. Ther portions are not that big and the siders to the fish are not enough to be full. The quality was good but not that awesome. The restaurant is called seafood but the there were only two dishes on the menu with fish. That’s not enough to deserve the name seafood. This is why I give only three stars.

Ik kom hier graag nog eens terug. Ik was hier nog niet eerder geweest en had een reservering gemaakt om een diner te combineren met film bij de Pathe bioscoop (Pathe deal). Ze vroegen bij de (telefonische) reservering de informatie op die ze nodig hadden en regelden alles verder met Pathe. Toen we gegeten hadden en afrekenden kregen we een enveloppe mee met onze vouchers en zijn we naar de bios gelopen. Heerlijk gegeten en erg behulpzaam personeel. Mijn twee pubers vonden het ook erg lekker, dus zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Eten is standaard. Niet bijzonder. Wel lekker voor de vleesliefhebber. Bediening is wisselend. De één is super attent, de ander wat minder.

Gezellig een 80e verjaardag gevierd met de familie. Fijne ambiance, leuk personeel en heerlijk eten van uitstekende kwaliteit. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is prima.

Het eten was heerlijk en de aankleding van het restaurant erg mooi en sfeervol. Het personeel is een ander verhaal. Slecht samenwerken, ruzie maken, slechte communicatie, we vroegen om de rekening maar ze waren ons vergeten, een van de bediening droeg een joggingbroek etc. etc.

We werden bediend door een jongetje van 15, was ongemakkelijk. Lang wachten op eten. Geen groente bij het eten. Het bier had een raar bijsmaakje. Geen muziek, ongezellig. Het restaurant was bijna leeg, en dat op een donderdagavond.

Heerlijk gegeten! Eten was goed, bediening ook erg vriendelijk en oplettend.
