Woodies in Wijk 10 Binnenstad

I recently stopped by Woodies with a few friends. The staff is very knowledgeable about their beers and knows exactly where to go! When we saw the plates of food coming by, we stayed for a bite. My spareribs were delicious, and the fries were perfectly salted. The burgers looked good too. The music was great, too, with both old and new hits. One of the most welcoming and delicious places in Zwolle!

Great location. Because we had two extra people with us, we couldn't go to the location where we'd booked for four, so we found an alternative at Woodies, which could accommodate the six of us (not including the baby). We were warmed up nicely and were able to order fairly quickly. They also handled the heating of snacks and later the baby's bottle. The only downside was that we didn't get much for the price of the food. The schnitzel wasn't very big, and we only got one small portion of fries/chips for four people. We did get the fries/chips as requested, without salt. Due to the crowds, we couldn't pay the bill individually. We could have split it in half, or even three, but we decided to pay the full amount.

Fine for a mediocre meal. The price is high and suggests the food is special, but unfortunately, it's not. It's a shame, a nice place with potential, but it lacks inspiration and passion.

Super nice cafe. You can also eat well there. The selection is so vast.

I ordered a hot chocolate milk for €4.80 in an original chocolate milk cup, but it turned out to be cheap chocolate milk. When I pointed this out, the staff said they didn't have real chocolate milk – but this wasn't mentioned anywhere. At this price, this should have been communicated honestly. Not recommended.

I come to Zwolle every now and then. I've always passed this place by. Not today. The staff, the decor, the atmosphere, and the food and drinks are all 5 stars. The next time I'm in Zwolle, I'll head straight to Woodies first.

Delicious food and reasonably priced. It's a nice, cozy, and spotlessly clean place. All amenities, such as restrooms, napkins, towels, etc., are readily available! We especially appreciate the friendly and service-oriented staff! We love coming here! It's a shame there aren't many similar places in Brabant! Who knows, maybe another branch will open in Brabant someday? ;-)

Great place for a special beer with a flamkuchen

I come here often, but this time I was walking past and desperately needed the restroom. I wasn't allowed to, so I had to use the public restroom next to the Belgian Emperor. There isn't even a public restroom there. It's a shame they had to lie. I wouldn't have paid to use the restroom. I won't be going here again.

€6 for a 0.33-liter Coke? Are we in Monaco? Peter Giesel would tear this place apart. The burger wasn't that good, the meat inside was so raw it could have been milked at 9:00 a.m. The fact that the cowhide wasn't still on my burger is all.

The meat was raw, the service was poor, and the owner was unfriendly! And on top of that, they charged me €20 for the burger without fries. That won't happen to me again.

I always have a wonderful time here, afternoon or evening. Lunch, drinks, or dinner. All three are great! I love coming here.

The cocktails, gin and tonic, and pornstar martini weren't good. The tonic water was non-carbonated and fruity, but it was musty. The service was ignorant of my comments... The ambiance is very nice, with a cool bench overlooking the bar.

Simply a super cozy and cool restaurant. Very friendly service, good food, and especially delicious cocktails. We'll definitely be back when we're back in Zwolle.

Bad business, they deliberately make customers pay double if they think the customer is not good enough

The service was friendly and generally quite fast. It wasn't busy when we ate here, and we had three different waiters ask if we wanted drinks in two minutes. My steak was quite thick, cooked perfectly medium, but the outside was tough, unfortunately.

Quick meal with little creativity or extras. Ordered from the menu, the meat only came with a few fries (very basic). The rendang resembled pulled pork with a few green beans and some rice. Just a plate service, but for a hefty price. (Drinks were also included, by the way, a small beer for €6.25.)

Erg sober, geen groente bij eten alleen bakje patat en vlees, van menu kaart besteld maar lijkt op plate-service voor veel geld…. Niet echt lekker tafelen

We wanted to eat here cause the restaurant looked very good! Cool style, nice seats and very friendly service that was really good. But when it comes to the food, oh well… My wife had the tarte flambee for 12,50 The taste was fine but she only got a 1/2 one, thats no where written and nobody told us, she left hungry. I had the halve chicken with fries, the fries were ok but nothing more, no salt no flavour and a small portion. The halve chicken was the worst i have ever eaten. Zero flavour, extrem dry and small too and that for 24€ thats insane overpriced I would never come back to eat something here

Sent the coffee back because it was very weak. Instead, I asked for tea (which I didn't come for). Unfortunately, they gave me a hard time about it. It's probably a good place for a nice beer; for good coffee, go somewhere else.

We had a wonderful time enjoying drinks and dinner on the outdoor terrace at Woodies. The chicken satay was delicious, and the satay sauce was excellent! They also came with good fries, all for a great price. The staff is attentive, friendly, and fast. The atmosphere is cozy and the music is great. Definitely recommended if you're in Zwolle 😋😃

Great service, delicious beer and just a pleasant atmosphere

Paid 6 euros for a single Coke... In the earlier days of Woodies, everything was much better. Now everything is incredibly expensive and you don't get your money's worth... such a shame. You're just being ripped off now. They won't be seeing us again.

Vorige week met een stel vrienden op het ruime terras in de zon plaatsgenomen voor wat drankjes. Ruim aanbod speciaalbieren, personeel weet wat ze verkopen en zijn vlot ! Blijven hangen toen we de borden met eten voorbij zagen komen, wat een goeie keuze was. Overheerlijke spareribs en goed gezouten frieten. De burgers waren de anderen ook zeer over te spreken. Wij komen zeker vaker !

This afternoon, we were served delicious burgers at Woodies. Very friendly service and an exceptionally stylish atmosphere. Totally worth it!

I was here for dinner with a friend. Ordered a chicken dish on the recommendation of the lovely waiter. I never in my life have turned my nose up at a meal but today I finally lived that experience. It just genuinely was a terrible meal. The flavour was awful and the portion size was unacceptable. I also for the first time in my life approached the staff to ask if I could order something else, I was greeted by a response from I assume the duty manager expressing I’d need to pay for it regardless, I was stunned to the attitude and response I was given especially because I approached this issue in an apologetic manner. I shortly declined to order anything else. I informed the duty manager I was not happy to pay for this meal as I deemed it truly unacceptable. I was then threatened by said manager that the police would be called if I didn’t pay for the meal and made to feel like a trespasser. I was forced to pay for something I didn’t eat. I was shocked about the unprofessionalism and obnoxious misunderstanding of my concern of said manager and his uncooperative and intimidating behaviour. I travel for work and have eaten in countless places all over the world and have never seen rude and demeaning behaviour by hospitality staff like this. Thanks a lot to said individual. All the rest of the staff are lovely and had a great energy - so thanks to them! Just a note on that dish. Cornflour and water isn’t a substitute for reducing a sauce properly.

Had to wait almost an hour for 3 toasted sandwiches and they weren't even tasty, way too hard. But hey, if you put 2 girls in a kitchen you know for sure that something will go wrong and no offense to the employees, they couldn't do much about it either. We were here a few years ago also on Saturday around lunch, then everything was perfect. We were very disappointed now.

Couldn't get a greeting or a smile when we entered. A bald man got angry when we sat at the wrong table according to him. It's because I can only give one star; the bald man is not even worth a quarter star. Kind regards.

Absolutely great! Went there for vacation with the whole family at 3 p.m. We were all very hungry, we didn't know that the kitchen usually opens at around 5 p.m. and we didn't notice right away. When we then said that we would just have a drink and then continue looking, the host, after a short consultation, quickly opened the kitchen for us. Hospitality was very important here, and the children were also surprised with a little magic trick while we waited for food. I'm rarely so impressed! Thanks for that!

More than enough choice from 101 beers. But much more important, the atmosphere, service and hospitality are top notch. We have been coming here for years, highly recommended if you want to have a drink in Zwolle.

The service and the food quality was amazing. The spareribs were slowcooked and completely homemade. Very good choice of food and drinks, the waiters and the owner were extremly friendly and customer oriented. Overall a great experience. I would recomend this restaurant 10/10

Especially a very attractive cafe. Good music and very friendly service. The gentlemen in particular had a great time and that is contagious! Excellent choice for food, lots of choice for drinks (special beer menu is extensive). Sometimes sneaky ways were used to get more out of us (offering half a liter without saying that there was a smaller option, for example). We regularly checked whether we wanted something to drink. Which is a nicer way ;). It was quiet on Sunday evening so we didn't miss anything.

We had to wait a very long time for our food. When we asked, we received an apology but no additional service. When the food arrived, the Flammkuchen turned out to be half as big as everywhere else, but just as expensive. We stopped by the Mac afterwards. A pleasant atmosphere.

Beautiful tent where you can eat and drink deliciously. Highly recommended.

After half an hour we were finally noticed for a drink order. After waiting for 45 minutes still no food while half the tables were empty. Service arrogant and unfriendly. Once but never again for us.

Recently had dinner at Woodies in Zwolle. The restaurant looks cozy and the service is good and fast. We both went for the satay, which costs 25 euros. This is of course a great price, until you see the portion size. You get one chicken skewer per person and a bowl of fries. That's all. The food was tasty, but this is very poor for 50 euros...

Had a beer at Woodies in Zwolle. Nice cafe and nice guy who helped us, but prices don't make any sense at all. A small beer and a large beer, €18.75. Too bad, we will skip this cafe next time.

The food was good. The chicken satay was very small for the amount. Especially since there were no side dishes. You have to buy this separately. And then the price of the satay is disproportionate. The schnitzel was of a somewhat normal size and the hamburger was also good. For these prices I expect side dishes such as fries to be included.

If I had read the reviews beforehand about the 'scam' and the poor customer service, I probably wouldn't have believed it and would have wanted to experience for myself whether it was really that bad. So anyway, I went to Woodies for dinner one evening. And I will never go back there. It was a busy and noisy evening. So when we were asked after placing the order if we also wanted fries and salad, we said yes. That should be included with a main course of 20-25 euros, right? Especially if the meat portions are so small that they are not actually filling on their own (as they turned out to be). When paying we saw that 27.50 had been added to the bill for a cone of fries, potato gratin, 2x salad and extra vegetables (that nasty boiled carrot, cauliflower, broccoli mix). Management says it is open to the comments we gave on this turn of events and that he would talk to the kitchen. But when I read about this 'scam' more often in the reviews, I no longer attach any value to these words. A real pity, because it was quite enjoyable, the food was good (I would even highly recommend the vegetarian stew, well executed!) and our waiter was also nice and fun.

Been here for lunch. Although the food was fine, the experience here is less so. It took no less than an hour to take a seat and serve lunch. That's quite a lot of time for a 12-hour meal and a tuna salad sandwich. The answer 'they came in at the same time' and is therefore busy, is no reason to serve tables that came in later earlier. It rather seems that there is too little direction and experience in the kitchen to serve the dishes at a fast pace. Unfortunately...

Quite surprised with the location and the atmosphere was perfect. Had lunch here this afternoon with a classmate. Tomato soup was delicious and the bouncer was delicious. At the end everything was cleared away and we were told: I don't want to push you but you can pay there. My classmate and I thought this was a bit strange a minute after cleaning up. We couldn't really end our conversation properly so we paid. Besides this it was a nice location and good for lunch.

The burger is great, all burger menus do not include fries. Cheese cake is not recommended, not tasty, hard and does not feel fresh. The interior of the restaurant is unique and nice, feels comfortable. The service is good, friendly and fast.

Delicious food. It's a shame that you are casually asked if you want lettuce and that you then pay 4 euros for a crappy bowl of lettuce! I still felt ripped off.

Pancakes served undercooked. Latte macchiato was a milky mess and the €1 caramel addition flew over it. The fish burger was not there.

Nadat we eenmaal binnen zaten en we wat drankjes hadden besteld kwamen ze meerdere malen aan de tafel zeuren of we wat wilden eten. Nadat wij dit meerdere malen geweigerd hadden hebben ze ons expres het dubbele laten betalen voor onze drankjes.

Woodies is always good, warm-hearted host and ditto staff. We recently celebrated our wedding there and everything was arranged perfectly, hats off to the owner and staff.

Delicious food in this restaurant! The extensive drinks menu with no fewer than 130 beers is impressive. The staff were extremely friendly and made lunch extra special by doing fun tricks for my daughter. Highly recommended!

Probably one of the most left out experiences I’ve had while being surrounded by people. The atmosphere was loud and full yet our waiter never came to ask for what we wanted. The water is outrageously overpriced costing me 3.50 a water which is like three sips. If you’ve made it this far into my review please save yourself time and money and don’t go here.
