Delicious food for a reasonable price. Gourmand, mixed grill, and tiramisu. Lovely place. Highly recommended.

I dined at Humphrey's on Christmas Day, and it was beautifully decorated. The decor was truly stunning and perfectly set the Christmas spirit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food arrived quickly and was delicious.

Haven't been there in a while. It was fine again, except for that wardrobe: a mess for years.

Long wait for all the food and drinks. Incompetent staff; A table of five people, and only after half an hour did the first beer arrive; at least for four of the five guests. After five minutes, I asked where my drink was. The staff looked at me quizzically and had absolutely no idea what was going on. Luckily, my first drink arrived promptly, but everyone else had already emptied their glasses, of course. They didn't ask if I wanted another drink, which is usually the basis of a restaurant's business model. After another long wait, I tried to get the staff's attention and ordered another five beers. This time, someone quickly arrived with five beers, but on the way to our table, another guest approached me, apparently wanting one too. He got one immediately, and then the young woman arrived at our table with only four beers left on her tray. She then placed them on our table, and I deliberately stayed silent, waiting for her to respond that she was now one beer short again. Just puts this on our table and walks away without saying a word. After that, the whole process repeats itself, and after a few minutes of waiting, I have to leave the table and explain that this is the second time this has happened. And again, the three of them are staring at me like a rabbit in a car's headlights. Unbelievable, what a bunch of amateurs.

Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service. While tasty, we found the price-quality ratio a bit off. With a mixed grill main course costing around €24, including an Angus burger, you wouldn't expect a skewer. And the vegetable side dish (cucumber slices and apple compote) wasn't very good. P.S. I received some helpful feedback from Humphrey's on my review.

Very cozy atmosphere, nicely lit. A warm welcome, friendly staff. Excellent service. Comfortable chairs and beautifully decorated. The food was excellent. We had a fantastic evening.

Such a lovely dining experience! The place is quiet and classy — perfect for unwinding after a long day or having a romantic dinner. Every dish was delicious, and the service made the evening even more special. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!

What a shame, we've been here quite often and always enjoyed ourselves, definitely 4 stars for everything. But last night was really bad. First, we had to wait 4-5 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. Then it took way too long for anyone to come to us. When the drinks arrived, there was still soapy water in the beer glasses. When we pointed this out, they reacted as if it wasn't poisonous 😳🤯. We did eventually get new clean glasses. Even though it wasn't busy, everything took a very long time. After a just-acceptable wait, the main courses finally arrived, which tasted fine. Unfortunately, again, we didn't see any of the staff coming by to check if everything was alright or if we wanted to order anything else. After clearing the table, there was no one to ask for the bill. We ended up searching for it ourselves and found it in the kitchen (!), who then very kindly took me to the cash register. It's a shame about the subpar service, because we thought we had a go-to place in Zwolle for good food and a good experience. We'll just have to look for something else...sorry.

Food is generally nice. But the Japanese parfait is not a parfait. A parfait has layers of fruit like strawberry snd ice cream, not a scoop of vanilla ice cream with bananas and caramel sauce.

As usual, a delicious meal at Humphrey's. Always a great three-course menu. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

Well... Good food, but the service... Drama! Before the main course was served, we asked for a round of drinks for the whole table... The main course was served, but glasses were taken away. I'm not used to that. Finally, I asked for drinks again, but luckily another lady had started serving and responded adequately. But uhm... Little friends were in the house. We joked about whether this one had a name, the staff were taken aback, but no concrete answer or "something" indicating they were being picked up was forthcoming.

A very beautiful, historical location with a lot of atmosphere and charisma. Nice place to dine with a group. Quiet background music ensures that you can communicate well with your table companions. The young staff is enthusiastic and does its best for you. The menu offers a good choice for everyone. The starters and main courses were original, beautifully presented and tasted excellent. The ground floor has recently been given a makeover. Chairs, tables, wallpaper and decoration have become a bit more airy. The artwork in the stairwell has been covered. The outdoor terrace is used a lot in the nice weather.

It was a nice experience with 10 people. It was a smooth service and cozy atmosphere. We unfortunately had to pay 4, 3 course dinners out of the 10, while all 4 had not taken dessert. The entrecote was also more rare than medium. The taste is not noticeable and the amount was more than enough.

I used to come here often on Sundays, and it was always packed. Tonight, we were seated in a nearly empty restaurant, which didn't contribute to the pleasant atmosphere. The carpaccio was tasteless, the cucumber salad wasn't well-seasoned, the mixed grilled meat was way too dry, the tiramisu was meager and lacked ice cream, and having to pay €39.95 still hurts a bit. Fortunately, the fries were good. The new interior isn't much of an improvement either. The blue benches, in particular, are uncomfortable; the backrests are too straight, and the backrests are way too high. They won't be seeing us again. It's a shame, because we have fond memories here...

A very nice location. It's a building with character. The food tasted great, but once your order is delivered, you'd better leave as quickly as possible. We weren't asked if we wanted another drink or more fries. What we did get tasted fine, but we didn't feel welcome at all. It's a shame.

Had a great meal in a historic building, home of the former mayor of Zwolle. You feel like you are in that time...

The food was very poor I had crispy fried salmon rolls. What was very strange was three rolls that were 2 by 1 cm, on a double bed of only brown iceberg lettuce. Also ordering a drink took 20 minutes while the restaurant was more than half empty. We come to the main course mixed grill, beef overdone tough and not tasty, chicken very dry, we were with three people and could for example order fries for free when necessary. Contacted the staff several times but did not get the contact to order more. So the experience was certainly sad.

Before the corona time a 3 course meal cost €25 and it was always super tasty, nowadays for €39.90 you get poor quality food!! I missed the tasty bread with olive oil and herb butter from the past, now you get bread with a so-called aioli. Main course was a large sole without taste, instead of the old tasty coleslaw, you now get a few cucumbers and you also have to pay €14.95 extra!!! For me never again Humphrey's!!

On a journey to a party we first went to eat something. Humphrey's is a chain that is located in many cities and I have always had a bit of a love-hate relationship with it, unfortunately the image remained somewhat the same. The starters were nice and quite nicely presented and also fine in terms of portion. The main courses were nice, but lacked a bit more power with all four main courses and with the side dishes come on salad is a bit more than a few cucumbers. Fries also please fresh and not the standard thing, could really be better. The desserts were below average, the triffle was not a triffle and the tiramisu I am still looking for the mascarpone. If you are not as spoiled as we are you can eat reasonably well here, otherwise go the next door. Price quality ok. €50,- p.p. To help people on their way from now on a legend: Stars 1. Run run run, before it is too late. 2. Poor to moderate. You can spend your money better elsewhere and or the experience is also disappointing. 3. On the right track, but there are major bumps in quality and or hospitality. 4. Yes I want to see. There is room for improvement, but I would definitely come back. 5. Yes I want to see, experience and I advise you to drive around for this.

Fries with apple sauce with the salmon??? A strange combination, perhaps to enhance the bland taste of the salmon?? The wine (Sauvignon Blanc) was tasty and well chilled. That says it all.

For, I think 3 years now, delicious food. They had new things on the menu and we wanted to try them! Everything was delicious again and the dessert: French puff pastry tart was simply HEAVENLY!

We often visit Zwolle and wanted to try something new this time. The place is very cool and very busy. Reservations in advance are recommended! However, it is very noisy due to the large space. The service is very friendly and attentive, but they aren't the fastest at clearing tables. The food was a complete disappointment!!! It has no seasoning at all, and you can't detect any harmonious interplay between the various ingredients. The meat has a rather artificial and sometimes toe-like texture. Not a pleasant mouthfeel. That might sound pretentious, but I do expect a basic level of quality, especially when it comes to meat. I won't say a word about the tiramisu. It has nothing to do with an original Italian tiramisu. It's a shame after some of the very good reviews. We wouldn't recommend it, as we were very disappointed.

Humphrey's is definitely worth a visit. It has a truly wonderful atmosphere and serves excellent, varied dishes with great service.

Cosy busy restaurant in a historic building in the city centre of Zwolle. Due to the different rooms spread over three floors, the restaurant with 364 seats does not look massive. The interior with the red and plush is pleasant. Quite a lot of tables for two people. I would never want to sit on the ground floor along the walkway, for some peace and quiet reserve a table by the window or upstairs. In the back garden a terrace with a view of the pepper pot tower. Menu, printed on the placemat, is small but offers sufficient variation in vegetarian, meat and fish. Choice for two or three courses is promoted. Prices are clear and fine. Taste and presentation of the dishes is excellent. Service is friendly and fast. There are several Humphrey's in the Netherlands.

Dit was de eerste keer dat we tijdens een diner besloten om niet verder te eten. Het vlees was taai en koud, en er werd niet eens gevraagd of het had gesmaakt. Bij het afrekenen gaven we een briefje van €100,-, maar er werd gezegd dat ze daar “niet van konden teruggeven” vreemd, in een vol restaurant. Het voelde alsof we gewoon werden voorgelogen. Uiteindelijk werden we gedwongen om te pinnen. De hele avond buikpijn gehad. Voor ons absoluut nooit meer!

Ate here on a Monday. A cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The choice of the menu is very diverse with not only the everyday standard dishes which invites you to choose something different. We had a delicious meal here for a nice price.

I'll never eat here again. Apparently they still think that staff are slaves who they can exploit. Very surprising for a restaurant of this level of prestige. I would recommend that you visit the neighbor's instead of Humphrey's. At La Cubanita it is always good!

The food was not as tasty as in Nijmegen. The staff went out of their way to let us in through the kitchen because we were in a wheelchair. Because steps at the front door. Inside we were amazed. Beautiful surroundings. Young staff may work less on autopilot. Furthermore, friendly, but friendly. Because it had to be done, it seemed.

Really enjoyed the delicious food. And the service and the place where we sat were also top notch.

Voor de eerste en tevens de laatste keer dat ik daar naar toe ging snap niet dat mensen hun eten lekker vinden mijn hoofdgerecht was een mixed grill en bovenop het vlees vonden ze het nodig te versieren met stukjes bietjes groente zat in een klein kommetje met witte stukjes erin met daarbovenop gebakken uitjes ik heb daar maar voor mijn eigen veiligheid geen hap genomen mijn vrouw kreeg een bord met een grijze brij met daaruitgestoken groene spinazie dit moest Toscaanse kip voorstellen my god wat een creativiteit kip kwam rechtstreeks uit de magnetron en toetje van mijn vrouw bestond uit bladerdeeg nou dat was zo zacht kon je gewoon prakken met je vork al met al een heftige smul sensatie dat nog lang op onze netvlies blijft hangen

Helaas viel het bezoek aan dit restaurant ontzettend tegen. Het voorgerecht was te doen, niet bijzonder maar redelijk. Het hoofdgerecht was een enorme tegenvaller. Ik kreeg een bord met een kwak eten er op dat bestond uit gekookte slappe kip (al smaakte het daar niet naar) en een saus die op kots leek. Smakeloos en niet eens goed verwarmd! Het dessert zou een knapperig bladerdeeg gebakje moeten zijn, maar volgens mij kwam het rechtstreeks uit de magnetron, want het was een kleffe hap. Ik ge hier niet meer eten, zonde van de bijna 100 euro die het kostte met z'n tweeën. O ja, de cola zero uit een flesje smaakte prima!

At the last minute we decided to go out for dinner and ended up here. 3 menu was anything but scanty. Delicious spinach salad with Black Tiger shrimp (I had to look for those) but just that combination of the dressing... Great! Main course mixed grill, also delicious! I'm not a fan of desserts but I had Spanish churros, tasty but not exciting. Friendly and attentive staff. I didn't like the acoustics as much, I couldn't hear my partner well. Toilets/lamps could also use a dust cloth. But other than that, the old building is beautiful and we will definitely come back.

Fast service, tasty food, not too expensive.

Good food and good staff, nice atmosphere. Very full of tables, which makes it feel cramped and busy here and there. But definitely recommended.

Nice place to sit, nicely decorated. The menu changes and there is always a good vegetarian option. It's a shame that water has to be paid for with the wine. I understand that you will be charged for only ordering water, but I always think it is service if you get a glass of water with the wine at €7.50 per glass. But nevertheless highly recommended.

3-course menu at an affordable price, with somewhat theatrical interior and seemingly high-end atmosphere. If this is what you are looking for, then this is the place. The food is reasonably priced and well displayed. The service is slow, as we waited for quite a while before someone approached us. And again it took long before they came to take the order and bring the drinks. I guess they are under staffed. Convenient location. Parking lot within walking distance.

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve in your restaurant. The food was fine and so was the service, but we didn't get exactly what we asked for, but it also tasted fine. I won't give it excellent because everything can be better. This was fine for us and cozy considering the price.

Okay food, very basic. But for the price okay. They do need to clean a bit more...

Last weekend we had dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very unpleasant. The staff chatted about guests and colleagues. It was a very dirty place, with dog and cat hair everywhere and mold spots. This was the last time we go to Humphrey's. I have no interest in this. You can discuss this within your team if you wish. In addition, I do not wish any further association with this restaurant, especially not with an institution that treats people in such a way.

Booked for 20:00 (opening hours were advertised as from 16:30). Turned up a few minutes beforehand. The place was empty and the doors were locked! There were staff inside but they just ignored us. We were kept waiting, in the cold and drizzle, for a long time. Eventually we gave up and found somewhere that actually understands hospitality. Why keep your customers outside, if you're not on some sort of weird power trip?

- sent upstairs to choose a table yourself without walking along / taking a wet coat or pointing to the wardrobe - We had to ask for cutlery at all courses - empty glasses were seen and new ones were filled, leaving empty ones on the already small table - service did not know what the purpose of the ampoule in the sushi roll was, not aware of what they were serving - wrong dessert, was replaced, but in the meantime my tablemate had melting ice cream - starter of spicy minced meat was great

Can't even come for a drink, have to eat something even though the tent is empty. Very strange.

Disaster! What happened here? Everything that was special and had allure has disappeared together with the old furnishings. It's like redesigning Paleis Het Loo with picnic tables, but more frugal. The inviting lights in the windows are gone, the once special chairs have disappeared and come from the catering industry, the garish wallpaper on the old walls is from the hardware store. It has become an average old people's home. Such a shame, so tasteless, so little sense of history. Goodbye, Humphrey's Zwolle!

DO NOT eat here if you have an allergy. We had made a reservation and clearly indicated that there would be a guest with gluten intolerance and pepper intolerance. This was not checked upon arrival. Unsolicited bread was served (we found that later on the bill) but no gluten-free bread. After asking 3 times and waiting for 45 minutes, it was finally brought to the table. It was then also discovered that the allergen card was necessary. This contained exactly 1 suitable starter, 1 suitable main course and 1 suitable dessert… Appetizer half frozen carpaccio in water with a dollop of pesto here and there. Main course tournedos with a lot of pepper and a sauce of red peppers... When complaining, after the rest of the party had finished eating, a new piece of meat was served on an otherwise bare plate without herbs, without sauce and without salt. The promised herb butter was not available and the meat was overcooked instead of medium. We left without dessert and without eating the main course. NOT recommended and no effort whatsoever to solve the problems...

We went for my birthday, they brought me a little 🕯️ and they also sang me happy birthday. Beautiful place, very elegant, friendly waiters. Very good food ☺️ I recommend it.

Voor ons nooit weer! De bediening was erg gejaagd. Er kon ook geen glimlach vanaf. We hadden onze jas nog niet uit of er werd al gevraagd wat we te drinken wilden. Bij het drinken brengen viel het drinken al op het dienblad. We moesten meteen het voor-, hoofd- en nagerecht zeggen. Dus moesten we opnieuw op de kaart kijken. Hier hadden we niet opgerekend. Het eten kwam rap achter elkaar aan en voor het nagerecht werden alle papieren placemats al weg gehaald. Toen de meesten van ons waren uitgegeten, werd alles van tafel gehaald terwijl een van ons nog niets een uit gegeten was. Tijdens het afhalen van de dinerborden en het bestek viel twee maal toe van alles op de grond en zat de jas van een andere klant onder de vlekken.

We walked in without reservation and were pleasantly surprised. The interior is beautiful. They offer a 3 course menu which was really nice with different options. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Had the Korean rib fingers and cod in Kimchi Hollandaise. Both were really nice. Dessert was okay.

Bevredigend. Bediening jong, enthousiast maar soms iets teveel met zichzelf bezig. Eten redelijk tot goed. Opmaak goed en smaak dito. Hoeveelheden toereikend.

Bij mijn recente bezoek aan het restaurant werd ik aangenaam verrast. Het eten was van uitzonderlijke kwaliteit, met verrassende smaakcombinaties die mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Elke hap was een genot, van voorgerecht tot dessert. Wat het nog beter maakte, was de zeer betaalbare prijs. De verhouding tussen kwaliteit en prijs is zeldzaam goed. Dit restaurant is absoluut voor herhaling vatbaar en ik kan het iedereen aanraden die op zoek is naar een heerlijke maaltijd zonder de portemonnee te hoeven legen.

Ambiance is leuk hoor maar het eten was ondermaats. We zijn hier gisteren geweest met onze 2 kinderen. Van te voren gevraagd of bepaald gerecht niet te pittig zou zijn voor een van hun. Laatste zou worden doorgegeven aan de kok zodat dit geen probleem zou zijn. Eten was veel te pittig (zelf voor ons te scherp). De mixed Grill, een spiel met stukken veel te doorbakken en gekruid vlees (stukje kip, hamburger, slavinken met spek en stukje biefstuk). Laten staan. Bij melden aan de serveerster werd er niets mee gedaan. "Was het wél gaar?" was de reactie. Ja, dat was het. Jammer, maar hier gaan we niet meer naar toe. Vonden het heel erg tegenvallen.

Friday, August 2 at Humphrey's Restaurant Zwolle, a day you will never forget!! After arriving, I ordered food and walked to the kitchen for an ice cream sundae with fireworks. The question from the waiter was what occasion is this for? When I mentioned that my wife was fighting cancer the service became so emotional that one of the ladies couldn't stand it anymore! and disappeared from the scene. Later she came back and I spoke sweetly to her! After all the impressions I asked for the bill and was told that the food was at Humphrey's expense!! My wife had surgery on August 5 (half a lung removed) and she is doing very well! Thanks again to the entire top team at Humphrey's Zwolle See you soon!

Been here for the 2nd time now and just like the first time, the food was excellent, the service was friendly and knowledgeable.

Very delicious dishes in an attractive restaurant and extremely friendly service. Highly recommended!

Na eerdere goede ervaring bij humphrys in een andere stad viel deze tegen.Hoofdgerecht incl. de frietjes waren niet goed warm . Na terugsturen werd het wel opgelost maar was het gerecht van tafelgenoot natuurlijk ook niet meer warm. De bediening reageerde tamelijk nonchalant. Waren zonder meer al niet erg attent. Duidelijk voor verbetering vatbaar.

Back to Humphreys after many years. Always satisfied in the past and now again pleasantly surprised by an excellent menu for a nice price. For this amount of money, in many restaurants you won't even be able to eat a 3-course meal with a corny salmon steak and a pork tenderloin. Also a nice offer for the children. Still a warm, attractive interior.

Awesome restaurant with Moulin Rouge vibes. The chicken tenders were bomb, and although the Asian beef carpaccio could've used a bit more salt, it was still pretty tasty. The wine was also delicious 🍷 For the mains, we went for the beef steak and the grill mix. Both were tasty but the steak sauce was out of this world! Dessert-wise, they were okay – nothing mind-blowing. The tiramisu saved the day though.

Sorry, maybe too busy, but the food was served too cold. Staff nice.

Tasty food for a good price. Definitely recommended!

My girlfriend and I decided to eat here once because when you walk past it looks promising, but nothing is what it seems. Not enough choice on the menu and cocktails were really nasty. I sent a piece of meat back because it was raw. I got this same piece of meat back only tough and shrunken. All in all we give it a 2.5 out of 10 because there was a nice video playing on the wall.

Very nice meal, sitting in the garden. Tasty menu! Gave 5 stars but still a small point. Such beautiful dishes, delicious ice cream, the dessert with tiramisu...delicious. but then you get fake whipped cream. I always find that a disappointment. Jersey milk ice cream... it seems like a small effort to serve it with a nice dollop of real whipped cream. Otherwise okay. Staff was great. See you soon ps I'll wait...;-)) Another delicious meal, again the flut (whipped cream) from a van, I don't understand why they don't change that. Whip up some whipped cream from that beautiful jersey milk. Really a shame.

Nice restaurant (attractive), very large, but also pleasantly busy on a Tuesday evening. Friendly service and lots of tasty things on the menu. Chairs are on the low side and the table for 2 is actually just a bit too small for two dishes and two glasses of wine and 2 water glasses with a bottle of water... it got a bit busy, but... we had a great evening. :-)

We came here for dinner with a large group (19 people) and had the group package. This includes 2.5 hours of unlimited beer/house wine/soft drinks/tea/coffee. The person who was supposed to pay went downstairs during dessert to pay in advance (although it was not stated that we could not drink anything after this). This was within 2.5 hours, so within the time of the arrangement we paid for. After the dessert was consumed, the waiter came by for a round of coffee and tea. Everyone ordered a hot drink here. After about 10 minutes the waiter came again to indicate that payment had already been made and it was not possible to order drinks. We indicated that the 2.5 hours have not yet passed and the order had already been taken. In addition, it was not indicated during payment that this is no longer possible. To make things even better, the service indicated that the ordered round was possible at an additional cost (beyond the amount paid for the arrangement). Each person then had to pay extra at their own expense. Absurd. As far as I'm concerned, this could have been resolved better. We also asked to speak to the manager or boss, but unfortunately nothing came of it after fifteen minutes. It was a group of 19 people, to first take an order and then indicate that it will no longer be delivered (because it cannot be applied to our receipt via the system) is very confusing. There was another group who, just like us, opted for the group package. So there were certainly opportunities to satisfy us as customers that last round. Unfortunately, no more Humphrey's for us.

Delicious food! We were there with a bachelor party and were able to sit together in the alcove under the stairs, perfect! Wide choice on the menu, with some original options. Fixed price is very nice. The food was really tasty and the service was good too.

Not recommended. Staff party for 42 people, time slot 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM. However, starter only at 7:00 PM and dessert at 9:00 PM. And the coffee was already served at 8:30 PM, because we were not allowed to order drinks after 8:30 PM. Very warm location, because the air conditioning was defective. But opening a window was not allowed by the staff. Furthermore, it was cheaply furnished, the food was adequate but not special.

Food was cold. For all meat. And fries and griente came too late.

Unfortunately not what we expected. Reheated food (lemon sole not cooked) little taste, sauces consisting of pure garlic... Service attentive but inexperienced (all students) no real waiters to be seen. And I'll stop because I could go on.

Great restaurant with good food for a nice price.

Nice restaurant with partly Asian menu. Excellent food, friendly service. Unfortunately, one moment the courses run smoothly one after the other, and later we have to wait a very long time.

Enjoyed a delicious 3-course dinner, very friendly and helpful staff and a cozy restaurant.

Tasty food and nice atmosphere.

Ate here on Valentine's Day. Perhaps going out for dinner with colleagues on such a day may not be the most representative day. The food was fine, but the service was mediocre, serving the food, collecting the empty plates and ordering drinks took a very long time. I think we had to wait 45-60 minutes between courses. The atmosphere was a bit different than normal, but the restaurant was completely full, also because of Valentine's Day, I think. The food is certainly good, so we will definitely come again next time. Despite the crowds, the quality is no less. The price was great, and therefore recommended to someone else!

The food was delicious. We just thought it was a shame that the dishes came together too quickly.

Unfortunately the food was not tasty. Very greasy and too spicy (the broccoli salad had the entire base full of tamarind). Nice service

Informal atmosphere and a beautiful, warm interior. The food was good, nothing special. Service was very fast, coffee arrived before dessert. A McDonald's feeling in terms of pace, but without the French fries. There were only places available for reservations before 5:00 PM, otherwise everything was full, according to the lady on the phone. There must have been quite a few cancellations in the meantime as there was still a lot of room available at 5:00 PM. The price is not in proportion to the meal. They clearly work with the 2 shifts idea. The pleasant atmosphere that was always there before is gone. It has become a walk-in.

Delicious food, a real evening out. Friendly and smooth service. 3 course menu, wide choice with starter/main and dessert. Recommended. Reservations are really necessary.
