We arrived here via Happen en Trappen the route Levendig Leeuwarden. This was our last restaurant. Time for dessert then. What a nice and cozy restaurant. Dessert was delicious and the other dishes we saw were undoubtedly delicious too. Very nice atmosphere here.

Living in Front of cafeteria eetcafe de Basuin for a while now the food is very decent and the prices are very reasonable! The owner and the chef are soo kind, if you just want something quick on the hand or you want to spend your evening eating good authentic Dutch cuisine you are at the right place! 10/10☀️

Had a delicious, tender, juicy ribeye, with fried potatoes instead of fries. So nice that you have that option. Add vegetables AND salad. Had 2 tasty specialty beers. The location is a bit unusual in the middle of a residential area, but once inside you don't feel anything about it. They also have a takeaway cafeteria. All in all, a nice place and the negatives that exist make the modest price possible.

Onlangs voor het eerst hier gegeten. Gelukkig hadden we gereserveerd, het zat goed vol. Alle vier een ander gerecht, het een nog lekkerder dan het ander. Ruim aanbod ook qua aardappeltjes, patat, rijst, warme en koude groenten voor erbij. Bediening is erg vriendelijk en attent. Hier komen we vast weer!

Cozy cafe in the working-class district of Huizum-West in Leeuwarden! I didn't make a reservation (they don't have a simple online reservation tool), so I could only sit at the bar (they were completely full). The menu is simple but contains sufficient choice. I had a delicious schnitzel and carpaccio. They also have a wide range of special bottled beer. Prices are really very reasonable for what you get. I thought the service was a downside (maybe because it was so busy?). I almost had to beg to order another beer. They also forgot about me for a while (recording my menu choice). I would have liked to stay longer, but this made me a bit annoyed. Hence no 5 stars (I rarely give them, but this place could potentially have gotten them).

Had a delicious meal here tonight. The restaurant was full, but eventually a table was made available for us. Friendly service. Delicious food. (Stew, onion soup) Delicious desserts. Add some wine and enjoy. The restaurant is not in the busy center, but within walking distance of the station. Worth repeating.

Took a very long time! We first had to wait half an hour before we could finally order, then it took half an hour until the starter was on the table. The main course took over an hour! Other tables that arrived later got it sooner. When we asked when the food was coming we were simply ignored. Finally we got the food and then it was cold! We are not used to this, it usually doesn't take that long!

Casual atmosphere, pleasantly busy for a Tuesday evening. Friendly service, tasty food. Good portion size, vegetables were tasty too. Excellent price / quality ratio. Worth repeating.

Last week I had dinner at Eetcafé De Basuin in Leeuwarden and it was delicious! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the café is cozy and you immediately feel at home. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy your meal or drink. The menu has a lot of choice, from Dutch dishes to international dishes. I chose steak tips and it was delicious. The portions were good and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Our food was served quickly and the staff was always available for questions and advice. Their kindness made the experience even better. Conclusion Eetcafé De Basuin is recommended for anyone who wants good food in Leeuwarden. Whether you want a quick bite to eat or an extensive dinner, you will certainly be pleased with the quality of the food and service. I will definitely come back here.

Very cozy cafe. Delicious food for normal prices. Also a different daily menu every day.

Food all came from the freezer. Spareribs were boiled over dry and inedible, stew was too salty meat rubbery and boiled over too much oil and had a weird burnt taste. Burger the junior and normals were mediocre had a better burger at the MC Donald's. Schnitzel was too much stuffed and was oily and greasy, it was soggy and inedible. The salad we got had a sweet dressing that was not tasty. They had put pineapple in the schnitzel which was disgusting. Then we asked for ice with the wine and the ice machine was broken. And they gave us a gift voucher worth the food as a good friend, but we never want to eat here again, it was as if they wanted to buy us out. We expected more from them.

First time at De Basuin. But will definitely come again. Cozy atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. You really feel welcome.

Quality food! Definitely worth the wait! During busy times, the wait for food can be an hour or even longer.

Very nice and cozy restaurant with nice prices. Attentive service and what a brown-cafe atmosphere. A real favorite of ours, for cozy dining for two or with the whole family.

We komen hier geregeld, en nu met kennissen hier gegeten. Het was weer top, alle 7 hadden we verschillende gerechten en allemaal heerlijk. In Leeuwarden het beste restaurant qua prijs/kwaliteit, een aanrader. P.s. wel reserveren, het is er altijd druk met bezoekers die De Basuin ook weten te vinden.

Wat een warm en gezellig eetcafé, we voelden ons helemaal welkom toen we aankwamen tijdens een weekend weg in deze buurt met twee jonge kinderen. Echt lekker eenvoudig eten en gastvrije bediening! Aanrader!

Op 7 oktober j.l. hebben wij met onze familieleden hier mijn 65e verjaardag gevierd. Arjo de Valk had alles uitstekend geregeld! De bediening en het personeel was super!

Vandaag voor het eerst geweest en positief verrast. Wat een leuke plek en goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Bediening is ook heel aardig! We hadden Marius beloofd een keer te komen. Helaas hebben we hem niet gezien maar we komen zeker vaker!

Heerlijk eten kun je in de Basuin. Onze dochter woont hier vlakbij op kamers. Even wat klusjes doen en daarna eten bij de Basuin. Ze loopt er altijd langs en het is er altijd druk. Maar zonder te reserveren van te voren toch nog een plekje. We werden vriendelijk onthaald. En heerlijk gegeten voor heel redelijke prijs. Sfeer is er top. Zeker voor herhaling

Druk bezocht restaurant, betaalbare prijzen. Wel wat zuinig met het opdienen van de bij gerechten. Ook het bijbestellen van deze gerechtjes duurt lang voor het komt. Vlotte bediening in een huiselijke sfeer. Krappe bedoeling voor mensen in een rolstoel, maar is wel mogelijk. Gezellige ambiance, indien U een allergie of iets tegen katten heeft is het niet geschikt voor deze persoon omdat er een "huiskat" rondloopt en op de stoelen slaapt. Verder ook toegankelijk voor uw huisdier.

Super vriendelijke bediening. Goede bierkaart en lekker eten voor een betaalbare prijs anno2023. Soep wel jammer zonder groente... Graag groente in soep doen.

Ik dronk koffie in de stad en vroeg de medewerkster tips over restaurants. Ze kwam met twee waaronder de Basuin waar ze zelf ook werkte. Het was een geweldige tip want we hebben enorm genoten! Je krijgt veel voor een prijs die je nooit meer ziet op een menukaart. Wij kozen allebei voor rendang en wat was het verrukkelijk!!We hebben er echt van genoten. Wij waren op vakantie en een volgende keer kom ik graag terug.

Butter chicken stond als dagmenu, moet zeggen dat dit wel één van de lekkerste was die ik in tijden gehad heb. Helaas stond deze niet op de kaart, want ik zou deze waarschijnlijk iedere keer bestellen. Vriendelijke mensen, gezellige sfeer voor een buurt eetcafe. Prijsverhouding heel goed.

Een ouderwets gezellig eetcafé in een volksbuurt in Leeuwarden. Wil je eenvoudig maar lekker eten voor een betaalbare prijs, ga dan eens naar De Basuin . Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is buitengewoon goed en met de gevarieerde maar overzichtelijke kaart is er voor een ieder iets te kiezen.

Helemaal uit Limburg naar de Basuin afgereisd. Wat werden we hartelijk ontvangen en wat was het eten lekker !!! Absolute aanrader!!!
