We came to this library for the first time out of curiosity and what a beautiful library! The library is in a monumental building and the interior is also very beautiful. They have turned it into a small garden with all kinds of plants/trees. Beautiful to see and unique!

I am very disappointed with today's reading session at the library at 3:00 PM. My son was allowed to choose a book and proudly chose the book Inside Out by Disney, but after reading a few pages the reading lady apparently didn't like it and showed this in an inappropriate way. She completely ripped off the book, even skipping pages and stopping the story halfway through. This not only ruined the atmosphere, but visibly disappointed my son. With a sad face he picked up the book again from Mrs Grumpy. It is incomprehensible that a library employee would adopt such a negative attitude during a reading session for children. This experience completely detracted from the pleasure that such an activity should bring. Very bad and inappropriate!

Beautiful place in the historic center of Schiedam. The interior space is a must-see. There is also a restaurant with friendly service and I ate a delicious sandwich.

I’ve just had lunch here with my wife, ordered two of the daily special sandwiches that Fabio makes. They were great sandwiches, with quality ingredients that come together surprisingly well. We both ordered the sandwich with mortadella, Sardinian cheese and anchovies, and we’d both order it again if we weren’t curious to try other ones. Bonus point: Fabio is also very friendly, beside talented.

Really a super, super beautiful library where I like to come to study. Nice facilities and nice staff. However, I think it is really poor that on the top floor, where many people are studying, no noise pollution is taken into account at all. Visitors and staff conduct conversations at normal sound levels and do not whisper. I understand that this is a public library, but on the top floor staff should simply ask for silence and hang a sign to make it clear to visitors that it must remain quiet because of other visitors who are studying. Other than that, very happy with this library, but this could be better! :(

I live close by, I came several times and the service is always really bad. Today I had the worst experience. The prices of the food are very high, they brought us the sandwich bread with moho, it was old bread; when I asked to change it they beought me another bread without the green part but still smelling like humidity (they didnt even apologize). They also didnt bring the salad that comes with the lasagna. I asked for a pot of water for my dog and they never brought it. The attention is always really bad. I wanted to leave higher points for the food but today not even that was good.

It is not logical to not let people open their laptops on the long table in the middle of the first floor and keep them only for those who read paper newspapers. Nowadays many people read ebooks and digital books on their laptops and it is no different than reading a printed book or newspaper. This rule leads to having mostly Dutch seniors sitting around the main table of the library and it does not look inclusive at all.

Top! Beautiful location with lots of plants, a restaurant and a beautiful terrace at the lock. Also great computer help for the digitally ill!

I was moved from my spot by a bald man with round glasses, because I was sitting behind the computer with my laptop next to my friend who was using the computers. The gentleman came to me after 1 hour to ask me if I could move. At that time there were still 6 computers available, so I said, sir, if anyone wants to use a computer, he can do that and I said that I was not disturbing anyone, he said that this was antisocial. I think I'm unfairly disturbed, again it's an old bald man with round glasses! From now on I have a feeling for the Korenbeurs library because I don't know if I will be bothered by strange employees this time Best regards, kees

The library in Schiedam is a library to admire. When you enter it doesn't feel like you're entering a library, no, on the contrary! It feels like you are visiting a beautiful garden. You can use computers and printers on the top floor. Downstairs you have a large selection of literature to read as well as a bar to quench your thirst. If you want to work quietly or find the right book, you can go to the library in Schiedam.

Beautiful library in Schiedam center. Very friendly staff, where you can also go if you have any questions. Many books for young and old. You can also sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet and read your book while enjoying a drink, as there is a cozy restaurant in the middle of it.

This is a very special library with enough space to unwind, read a book, work, study. The staff at the cafe is very nice as well.

Located in the historic part of Schiedam. Small outdoor terrace with simple drinks menu and tasty snacks. Large selection of books. The children's corner in particular is highly recommended.

Wonderful and beautiful place to quietly read, study or drink a cup of coffee. The combination of the glass roof and the abundance of greenery inside makes it easy to spend a whole day studying in the library without going home completely exhausted. A quiet room is available upstairs, with a view of the courtyard or the Schiedam canals.

Located in the building that was once the corn exchange. In the past, a lot of grain was needed in Schiedam for, among other things, the gin distilleries. The facade, with its columns, looks a bit like a Greek temple. Inside there is a lot of light, which is due to the largely glass roof construction, very beautiful. It is nice to relax on the terrace outside and inside. Very worthwhile to visit these and other historical places in Schiedam.

Beautiful location for our library!

The library is located in an old historic building in the center of the city. The inside looks beautifully green with a large open space and lots of plants. Because there is a large open space inside and a small café, the library is more noisy than normal. There is nothing to note in terms of offering, recent books and a wide range.

Beautiful library and truly my favorite place in the city. Lots of greenery, a beautiful building and a cozy coffee corner. The only disadvantage is that there are no quiet areas/concentration areas and people talk loudly and make phone calls. So if you want to read a book in peace or get some work done, then this is not the place to be.

Great library, you can also eat and drink there. Unfortunately, there is often no room, people often sit alone (or with two) at a four-person table, meaning there is no room if you come with four.

After half an hour we finally got our order. I ordered a long port veggie sandwich. I don't recommend it. They don't use fresh bread. It wasn't tasty. I couldn't eat it. The cafeteria is good for something to drink.

Great that they are also open on Sundays. It is ideal that there are extended opening hours, especially on weekend days. Great location for a cup of coffee with something tasty. Not cheap but not terribly expensive either.

Very beautiful building! A while ago they were in the city yard and moved here. Clearly an improvement!

Delightful place where both adults and children will enjoy. If you have children, the children section in the corner will be your best friend. Also the mirror house or the ipads are helpful when you need to entertain your children. The best thing for an adult is the cafe and the book selection. You could enjoy a nice glass of Chardonnay while reading the latest magazines or books. They have a limited English section but is worth looking. Don't forget to visit, the Library worth the visit.

What a wonderful place to sit among the greenery and read and work on my stories. The ground floor is a kind of village square with all kinds of wonderful village square sounds. The monumental building, the light and the plants. I feel comfortable and like to walk the 2 km there and back (I live in Rotterdam-west) to be here :)

Beautiful library in a beautiful monumental building. Wide choice of children's books, reading tables in the covered courtyard (so lots of light) and a nice coffee corner (also to go).

Nice and nice building, but it is not a place where you have to find silence. There isn't. Coincidentally, there were people at a meeting and at the end there was half an hour of noise and chatter. And classes from primary schools come by. Furthermore, there is a wooden floor. If employees also choose a shoe with heels, you can guess that it is enormously difficult to read something with concentration. The appearance of the building and cafeteria is very nice.

It really is a paradise for the flex worker. Beautiful place with nice work corners with many houseplants, which gives such a wonderful green atmosphere. Unlike many libraries, you can buy a normal cup of coffee here, always a lot healthier than a coffee machine. Inspiring location where you can work wonderfully, eat your own sandwich with peace of mind and still buy a nice piece of lemmon pi with coffee :) The best library in the Netherlands can be found in Schiedam!
