Enjoy a nice walk or just a refreshing drink... it's all possible here! The lunch was delicious, well worth it. It's a lovely spot, which is probably why it's quite busy. But that doesn't bother you. You really don't have to wait long for your food and/or drinks.

Very cozy place, especially the BARN. Lovely interior, wood-burning stove (no smell in your hair or clothes). Something different. Outdoor seating is also very pleasant. And the food was great! Highly recommended.

After walking, enjoy a good coffee with something tasty, enjoy the surroundings and the atmosphere in and around the forest hut.

Had lunch with some ladies. We even had a reservation, but that's probably why we waited over an hour for our food. It was super busy on weekends. We did enjoy our meal, though. Plenty of choices for snacks, toasted sandwiches, salads, etc.

Ordered coffee and pastries, and they arrived with pastries and whipped cream on warm plates. Finished the pastries, and then came the coffee. My coffee hadn't even finished yet, and my husband was already cleaning up, so I threw back the last sip of coffee. Chaotic and messy.

We were here for lunch. My husband had a midday snack, and I had the goat cheese salad. The sweets on the menu also looked promising, so my husband chose the Monchou (a Dutch cheese sandwich) and I had the warm waffle with apple after lunch. The tomato soup I chose for midday was delicious! Freshly made and definitely no bouillon was used. The croquette and beef salad were good. The goat cheese salad was generously filled with finely chopped dates, olives, seeds, pumpkin cubes, pickled onion, and tomatoes. Two thick slices of warm goat cheese, two slices of brown bread, and a small cup of sauce on the side. It was delicious! A ten. My husband also said the Monchou was delicious, and the warm waffle? I'll be back just for that. Mouth-wateringly delicious! A good, generous dollop of whipped cream, apples perfectly prepared (not cooked to a pulp), and the waffle was warm and fresh. There were tiny raisins, and normally I'm not a fan of warm raisins, but these topped it off. Tip: the forest hut tea! And on the terrace, a cozy wood fire was burning. There were several seating areas, and it was also lovely inside. Dogs are welcome outside, but I'm not sure about inside.

Bad service from the manager or owner! I wanted to have coffee with my girlfriend and asked if there was room inside. Everything was full. Then I asked if we could find a spot outside, and he said, "You can't eat outside." While everyone was eating outside!?

Fantastic place to grab a bite to eat before or after a walk in De Maashorst. Delicious salads, super friendly staff, and a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. In bad weather, you can stay inside in the forest hut or the barn, and in good weather, there's a lovely terrace. We stayed at the Roompot, but we walked in the woods every day and ate or drank at De Boshut, a prime spot in the woods.

What a wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful wooded setting. Lots of delicious things on the menu. It's often quite busy, and the staff works hard and does a great job. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely, idyllic spot in the woods. It was packed inside, but the weather was perfect for sitting outside. There's a bit of a retro vibe. It's a shame, though, that not all the tables and chairs are on hard surfaces. We both had a midday snack. One with meat and the other with fish. They were both delicious. I had a lovely lunch here with my mother. It was pleasantly busy. We were helped quickly. The food was delicious. We had the sticky chicken salad. The portion wasn't very large, so I'd hoped for some larger/thicker slices of bread. Unfortunately, the menu didn't mention olives. We also had a sweet treat. That was also delicious.

A beautiful place, delicious food. Plenty of vegetarian options too. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. The only downside was that our puppy wasn't allowed to lie on the lounge sofa on any of the parts we brought with us. He was still very young, 10 weeks old, and still finds everything a bit nerve-wracking. We completely understood that for an adult shepherd, for example. This meant we left after one drink. We've been there many times and are there for at least an hour and a half. I understand there's a policy, but in this case...we also had to clean the sofa before we could sit down.

What a lovely spot here in the woods! After a geocaching bike ride, we settled down on the forest terrace for a latte macchiato and pastries. The latte was nice and warm (which can be a bit different in other places), and the banana bread was delicious. There's a relaxed and informal atmosphere, partly due to the creative variety of patio furniture. We'd definitely recommend it if we're ever in the area again.

Today I had a delicious lunch at "De Boshut" in Schaijk. I had the crispy chicken wrap—super tasty and perfectly flavored—along with a local tripel beer. The rest of the group opted for dishes including croquettes with bread, the Boshut Lunch Meat with wild mushroom soup, and the kids enjoyed the Docus de Das Smikkeltas. Beautiful location surrounded by greenery, child-friendly, and with a cozy terrace. Highly recommended for lunch or a stop during a walk or bike ride!

Nice restaurant with good service and a warm atmosphere. During our visit we discovered that we had forgotten the milk for our baby. The owner immediately offered to take me to our cottage so that we could pick it up - really thoughtful and helpful. The food was delicious and the service friendly. This personal involvement really made the difference for us. We felt welcome and well helped. A place where hospitality is clearly important. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a relaxed dining experience with an eye for the customer.

We waited 1.5 hours for our food. The food was good and tasty. The staff eats their own lunch on the terrace, we found this a bit strange. Especially if you wait so long yourself.

Belachelijke service, personeel was zeer onbeleefd. Hadden een tafel binnen gereserveerd en vervolgens werden we buiten geplaatst. Toen we vroegen of we binnen konden zitten, leverde dat heel veel gezeur op en werd er gedaan of wij in de fout waren. Daarnaast vroegen wij of we de een deel van de gerechten eerder konden krijgen dan de rest. Dat vonden ze goed totdat het toch "iets te druk was". Dus uiteindelijk kregen we toch alles tegelijk. Toen we hen over beide dingen confronteerde kregen werd er het volgende tegen ons gezegd "jullie zitten nu toch binnen dus wat is nou het probleem?", de toon waarop dit gezegd werd kan je zelf invullen. Al met al een belabberd restaurant. Enige pluspunt is de leuke locatie...

Ongelofelijk onbeschofte eigenaar. Hier komen wij nooit meer! De bediening was ook niet super, waar wij begrip voor hebben, maar de reactie van de eigenaar was ongelofelijk. Vonden dat we niet moesten klagen, en konden vertrekken als we commentaar hadden.

Minus point......had called to make a reservation was not necessary they did not. What a surprise a lot of tables reserved outside terrace. Particularly a lot of confusion because of that. And that was annoying.

Passed by while running. Even though they wouldn't be open for a long time, I still got a cup of coffee. With two cookies and a nice conversation!

The weather was wonderfully warm and it was wonderful to relax on the terrace. The food tasted very good and the staff is friendly and deliver fast service.

What lousy service. After many positive stories from others, I have now made a reservation by telephone to come and have lunch with 4 people at 12.30 pm. Once there we were sent to the other building; the Barn, that's where our table was. At the Barn it turned out that our reserved table had already been reserved for people who had not reserved. We were allowed to go back to the 1st building, where they still had a spot available for us, on the 1st floor, the table against the railing. Okay, happy. So back to that building. The table turned out to be a 6-person table, with 2 people already seated. We could then sit there. No, thank you. We'll skip it and won't come back here. No one walked with us to the table, no one really thought about solutions, we left without notice. Drove 20 km (single) for nothing.

Great place to sit, have something to eat or coffee and something tasty. Been twice, 1x late lunch: 1 fish and 1 meat with delicious tomato soup. Everything delicious!! 2nd time delicious coffee with monchou. Rarely do you get such delicious monchou from a glass. Will definitely come back. Nice service and varied places to sit.

De boshut is een vrij klein maar leuk "hutje". Leuk ouderwets/antiek ingericht. Bediening is vriendelijk. Maar het zit er ramvol met lunchende vrouwen, wij waren daar op een vrijdag. Alles zit nogal dicht op elkaar. De parkeerplaats staat bomvol, maar in het bos niemand gezien. Men komt kennelijk alleen voor de horeca. De warme chocomel was lauw en moest je meteen opdrinken. Kroketten op brood waren goed, maar daar kan ook weinig mis aan gaan.

We had a delicious lunch here on February 17, 2025 because we had done some shopping in Germany. delicious food and nice service. When I got home it turned out that my wife had forgotten her handbag, but this is a 200 km drive, I called and the bag was sent on request the same day, where can you find such service and friendliness! We will definitely come back again and leave the handbag at home

Super nice opportunity, with extension in the barn, large space and yet very cozy. Food is definitely good for such an attraction with that volume of visitors. We have been back several times now and it never disappoints!
