You have to love thick pancakes (I do) Poffertjes were great. Great guy at the counter, I think the owner. Rest of the staff is also very friendly. Become a regular when we travel to Amsterdam!

We passed by and noticed they serve Poffertjes (Dutch pancakes), so we had to stop! The strawberry whipped cream and sugar butter topping were yummy, and the dog-friendly atmosphere made it even better.

An atypical restaurant nicely decorated. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. There is still a wait (and yet we showed up around 2 p.m.). The food, however, is a little too greasy and disgusting: impossible to finish my plate of mini-pancakes. It's good but not extraordinary. The maple syrup offered self-service on the table is not the one we are used to in France: the taste is very special.

Quick service. Lots of options for the pancakes. A mix between a French and American pancake. Everyone speaks perfect English also has an English menu. Nice view onto the park.

We ordered a pancake, the strawberries on our pancake were a bit too soggy for our liking but overall we enjoyed our pancake. I would definitely recommend to come during the day rather than in the evening, because of the views. We might come again for the mini pancakes.

Gorgeous fresh pancakes.. which are made and served traditionally. Portions are big and the staff are really friendly and attentive. You get a very local feel here and it is reasonably priced. The decor inside is carrousel themed and works really well... it's certainly unique and adds to the experience. I would recommend anyone to visit and I would love to go back.

The food was so tasty and the service was fantastic. Our waiter came back out to us with a list of places to visit and things to do. So thoughtful. It's such a great place. We sat outside to enjoy the sun and all other customers were inside and not so busy the time we went.

The pancakes here are huge and delicious!! Right across the street from Heineken. Definitely worth a visit for just the pancakes! My husband and I shared one but if we wanted to we could have easily had our own!

We were there yesterday morning and we really enjoyed it. The service is excellent, the food is great and the atmosphere is really cool with the carousel theme. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

The pancakes were really nice and the strawberries tasted really fresh. Although it was pricier than other pancakes we tried in Amsterdam, it's a generous portion size so made up for it, we were able to share one serving. The venue itself is cute, resembling an old carousel ride.

In search of a proper Dutch breakfast, we set our sights on some pannenkoeken (pancakes) and discovered far more than we had hoped for or expected. You see we had the good fortune of befriending Senna who volunteered to serve (in his words) as our “tour guide & waiter.” When Senna asked if Dana preferred sweet or savory, she replied (in brilliant fashion), “How about both?” This prompted his face to light up as he told us he had the perfect recommendations. Following his lead we ordered the “Bacon, Apple, and Butter” Pannenkoeken and the “Mixed Fruit and Whipped Cream” Poffertjes. What’s amazing to me is that about half way through our meal I noticed that the bottle of syrup on the table hadn’t been touched (or even considered). I mean, how could syrup possibly enhance such a wonderful compliment of flavors? No, its inclusion simply wouldn’t be tolerated! If you want to blaze your own trail at “De Carrousel” they offer more than 50 options to choose from and I’d recommend sharing a combination of pannenkoeken and poffertjes amongst your party. Be sure to make time to wander around the restaurant a bit. Not only are the center carrousel horses a unique touch, but the kitchen’s close proximity to the dining area can make you feel as if you have a role in the preparation of the pannenkoeken and poffertjes! Nice for a gourmet break near the museums, but like all tourist places it is expensive and of just ok quality.

With the actual.carrousel in the middle of the restaurant, it has a very own and 'cosy' atmosphere. If you want to try top notch Dutch pancakes, this is where you want to be.

Nice little place. Albeit many would consider a tourist trap the food is really good and the beer is really cold. For a rainy Thursday in early December around 15:00 it was a walk in. Take it from an Orlando area resident that knows tourist traps this is worth it.

It was good, but I didn't like the payment system! For example, you cannot share the total amount of the service with people like in Brazil! You are forced to pay everything and then collect the amount from your friends...

The atmosphere was amazing. I really like the idea of a carrousel but I wish if it was running. The food was fine, we ordered cheese sandwiches and profiteroles, the sandwiches were nice, and the mini Dutch pancakes (profiteroles) were nice as well. I personally thought that the butter is not my thing, but overall it’s a nice place and nice food.

It may be one of those traps, that at first looks pretty intriguing and exciting to enter, but then the food is just simply not worth the price. Plain single crepe with just some salty toppings on it that are not even seasoned enough or instead some sweet ones like Nutella which OF COURSE will kinda save it, since you can’t taste anything apart from the sugar.

Out of all the places we could have chosen to eat Amsterdam, I felt this was the most entertaining of the restaurants. Up until this point we had been eating at cafes having sandwiches and burgers. This time we chose to have the more traditional local pancakes. I start off by saying that being on the corner of an intersection and a 240° view, you are able to get a beautiful scene of the area no matter where you sit. Arriving at the door. You're greeted with the festive lights of the carousel and as you walk in two awesome wood carved carousel horses are there to greet you. With booths going all the way around the outer rim and a step up to an inner ring of booths, you are allowed to sit down wherever you would please. We chose to sit in the middle elevated up to be able to look around the room. I asked politely if I would be able to take pictures and the wait staff inform me that all the pictures that I could take please do. So I proceeded to walk around the establishment and took pictures about of what I felt everybody would be engaged in wanting to see. The bar so to speak was very ornate with different styles of cappuccino machines to ensure that they were able to satisfy the crowds of the local tourist. Someone could definitely have a good time relaxing while their loved ones took in the scenic of view. I decided to go with a savory pancake which included eggs, ham, mushrooms, cheese, and maybe one other thing. My wife chose to get something sweet and got the Dutch Pancake poffertjes. It was very good and so fluff but chewy on the back end. You get to pick your liquor so she picked amaretto. Paired with the cream, the bite of amaretto and the sweetness of the powdered sugar made of sauce That the pancake soaked up. That combined with ice cream and the whip cream provided a union yang of the hot and coldness of the dish. If you're needing somewhere fun to hang out and or want to bring some smiles to your day, definitely stop by and have a quick bite while you're in Amsterdam.

Tourist trap! Poffertjes are not baked properly, still raw dough in the middle. When we informed the waitress she said that the restaurant had a new cook. But asking her again she said that the owner had given her instructions to tell us that poffertjes are always baked like this! The enormous cup of coffee is what we call "slootwater" in the Netherlands. Skip this place and only just make a picture of the beautiful merry-go-round horses in the middle! We stumbled across this gem in the heart of Amsterdam whilst walking around. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is incredible and a super fun spot to take kids and/or family. If you order nothing else, order the poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes) - thank me later! We ordered the Nutella and banana ones on the side of our breakfast and honestly wished we’d just ordered the pancakes as they were so good! They are freshly made to order, hot, fluffy and sweet. The service was also super friendly and really quick.

I love this place for pancakes. Not only did I take my daughters here last night for poffertjes, we went back this morning for breakfast 🥞 Tim was our server. He was very friendly. Do not hesitate to order freshly squeezed orange juice.

The cafe is very beautiful, feels like stepping into a children's book. The pancakes are a bit on the pricier side but that's just because it's location is very convenient. We enjoyed the English breakfast and the mixed fruit pancake.

I loved having breakfast here! Everything was spot on! The food was delicious, the place is beautiful, and the service was super friendly. They’ve got outdoor seating, but we sat inside, which was awesome since we got to eat inside a carousel. We had the Pof. Aard/Nutella, Zinder slagroom, Pk.h/k/ei, koffie groot, chai latte and water. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had!
