Nice little spot, left waiting and front of house was about to go as no one was there to explain. So glad I waited lovely food friendly service!!

Tourist trap. Far too expensive pancakes and not even that tasty. Limp dough and little garnish. I'll never come back here again. For really tasty Dutch pancakes, go to the 'Meerzicht farm'. A little further out of the center, but the tastiest pancakes in Amsterdam and affordable too!

Super kind staff and delicious pancakes! I ordered the traditional pancakes with cheese and mushrooms. They are huge! Were I in Amsterdam longer, I'd go for a sweet one next time. I only give it 4 stars because they forgot my order and it took longer to get my food.

This place has the best dutch pancakes in all Amsterdam! We ordered the savoury ones, and we highly recommend them. The staff is very friendly and the place is quite cozy. Super recommended if you are looking for something typical and delicious.

Delicious pancakes! We ordered 2 savory pancakes during a day in Amsterdam. We were finally able to live on it until late in the evening! Being able to eat a filling meal for a decent amount. I will definitely come there again!

We almost missed it because the signage was small and it's not lit up well outside but so glad we found it and tried the pancakes! We got the chicken, cheese and mushroom and the apple and cinnamon pancakes. Both were excellent! The waiter was friendly and helpful in guiding us where to go next.

The experience was mediocre at best. The place has insufficient ventilation and the staff frequently opens the back window without notifying or warning guests resulting in a constant fluctuation in temperature. Quite shocking to see that the staff takes advantage of the opportunity to run towards the window for a quick puff from their vape, WHILE STANDING INSIDE THE RESTAURANT. I had to rub my eyes to check if I was not hallucinating. Overall not a great experience.

Good pancake, decent service. Open quite late so perfect for supper/midnight snack. We tried the dutch pancake, it was good but a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall a good experience.

Updated review: The last two times I visited, things were not the same. Service was not as personal or attentive, and there were several misses. The food just didn't live up to my many previous visits either. It seems they're short-handed and perhaps that's why the experience isn't as great. I'll keep it in my rotation but it's no longer my go-to for pancakes in Amsterdam. Original review: Every time I'm in Amsterdam, it's a requirement to dine at the Pancake Bakery. Over the years, I've tried many pancake places around the Netherlands and none have been as good as the Pancake Bakery. They are crispy and full of flavor and the menu is huge. My favorite is the Hungarian. If you go with several people, I suggest sharing sweet and savory options. There's so many great choices. The restaurant is housed in an old 17th-century canal warehouse, which I love - but some people may not like the crowded space. Reservations are not offered and during busy season, there's usually a wait but it's never been very long and always been worth it.

Cozy restaurant, used to have excellent pancakes, but unfortunately not anymore. Pancake was very disappointing, way too greasy. No, we won't go back to this.

We came on brunch and waited to be seated alongside 4 more people. After 5-10 minutes we entered and ask a waiter if anyone will come and seat us since nobody came to us. (it seemed that they were lack of staff) 3 stars for the lovely spanish lady who manage to offer us a nice table by the tree since on the other side of the restaurant was smelling really bad like rotten eggs. We had 2 different pancakes from wich my girlfriend ate not even a quarter and i had almost all of it( bad decission)...Woke up in the middle of the night with massive food poisoning. For 20€ a pancake that you don't know if you will make it by next day, i rather choose something else. For sure will never return.

The 🔥 and pancake flipping, caused the pancake to be super crispy and flavorful!! I recommend the bacon pancake. One downside is the apples are fairly sour.

Little space, very loud, not customer-oriented and simply far too expensive. Even amateurs can make a pancake like this. Last but not least, I was allowed to wrap half of my pancake myself in a little aluminum foil. Thanks for nothing. At least we're not hungry anymore.

Amazing pancakes, really enjoyed the Indonesian pancake. There was no American pancake, I would like to make a suggestion for new menu item: The Elvis - pancake with peanut butter, bananas, bacon and honey.

Fast seating and service for our party of six. Pancakes were excellent and quite large and filling! I could do with about half a serving. Much larger inside than it looks from the outside.

The location is close to Anne Frank Huis, right next to the canal. Came here on December 25th, just in time for Christmas and there were quite a lot of people here, even though there wasn't a waiting list either. The pancakes were really delicious and crispy and the portion was really big but I still finished eating them. The service is also very friendly and the prices are still very reasonable. It's really worth it coming here!

Great place to get decent pancakes. Always go for the bacon and cheese (spek en kaas) one, its not bad. One comment is that the pancakes get cold fast after they cook. And they leave it on the kitchen table for a while before they serve so some pancakes turn cold. They do this I presume so that they can serve all pancakes of the same table at the same time rather than one after the other. I would think, to hell with it and serve a pancake when it's piping hot. Drinks are expensive too but that's Holland for you.

The muffins are delicious! Personally, I recommend the salty flavor, which is a bit like pizza and is cool. If you want something sweet, I recommend small waffles. Large waffles have too much fresh cream and are quite cloying. The portion is quite large, so sharing is recommended.

Food was okay. Service was very slow. But the girls were all very nice. They were doing construction while we were eating breakfast so the drilling and pounding deafened us over our breakfast. We tried a savory mushroom and bacon one. The bacon was burnt, the mushrooms non existent and the pancake seemed to not be cooked enough. It was weird. The sweet one we had was really good! Bananas, chocolate sauce and whip cream. That was cooked to perfection.

Strolled past by chance and arrived in a rustic atmosphere. Great cappuccino from a portafilter machine. The pancakes were super delicious 😋. The staff super friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Use to be my go to but came in to grab a snack and told to follow one of the waiters. Another waitress rudely came over to ask me what the hell I was doing (lol). Spoke spanish to each other and were damming - maybe should’ve realised I spoke to language too and aren’t a tourist. Poor.

Really awful food. The ham cheese and mushroom were packed on like a pizza a which was not good at all, the pancake was slightly sweet too which would not work well with a savoury dish. Pancakes are overpriced! We looked at other bakeries afterwards and they were much less! Would not recommend, felt like a tourist trap.

Ordinary experience nothing special

The worst restaurant for pancakes. Slow service. The taste is bad. I could not finish it. Honestly, the workers’ psychology is not at all what is expected. It does not deserve a high rating. It is very expensive alone at 20 euros When I ordered it, they didn't like it, and then they brought me a piece of tinfoil and a bag for your life However, the place was dark and gloomy Bad in every sense of the word

Good pancake batter similar to my grandmother's! We ate one with only bacon and one with banana, cream and chocolate sauce. Both were powerful and a lot of food, we couldn't finish it. A bit too much roasting noise and somewhat claustrophobic and cramped premises.

Went to the pancake house during our stay in Amsterdam, and I can say we were thoroughly disappointed. We either got them on an off day, or they’re just coasting by on old reviews and a reputation from being there for so long. We got the poffertjes with butter and sugar. Basic enough and classic. They seemed microwaved, and they were absolutely smothered in butter and powdered sugar. Is the thinking behind it that if you just put butter and sugar on something it makes it good? If you’re a tourist, don’t go there. It’s not worth it, and there are much better options in the area.

My food was yum salted pancake with a tri-tomato and pesto sauce and mozzarella was so yummy

Came here for lunch recently—they don’t take reservations but luckily the wait was not long at all. Restaurant is fairly small. Food was pretty good! We tried the Caprese Pancake and the Dutch Pancake. I liked the Caprese better since it was on the savory side, although I wished there was more pesto sauce. The Dutch one was way too sweet for my preference. Both dishes were huge and reasonable priced.

Cozy, quaint and a somewhat inconspicuous entrance. The food there is highly recommended and the portions are really solid. You get a wide selection of savory and sweet pancakes. Reservations are not absolutely necessary unless you are a larger group.

Dutch waffles with heated cherries and vanilla ice cream are delicious! Well worth a visit!

The portions of all the food are large, so two people can share one portion if they are not big eaters. The traditional Dutch pancake Pannenkoek served with ice cream was delicious and full of cinnamon flavor. I also ordered the large pancake with mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes and bacon mushrooms which was very crispy. Overall, I recommend it because the Netherlands doesn’t have very good food.

From 2018 since i first visited, it's been my must to go every time i visit Amsterdam. Keep up the good work!!!

Classic typical place with excellent food from pancakes to continental breakfast. Good service and fast too. The pancakes are their original crêpes and not the usual American style ones. The mini pancakes with chocolate are also excellent although not photographed here.

Grossly overpriced for what they are. The taste of savory pancake was decent enough. But the Dutch special pancake was super sweet and the whipped cream seemed unnecessary when there is sugar, Stroopwaffles and ice cream on it.

Wonderful experience. The breakfast pancake came with orange juice and a coffee for €15. The pancake was more akin to a crepe than I'm use to but absolutely delicious. The bacon was crispy and their maple syrup was just the right amount of sweetness. My partner had their monthly special consisting of pofertges, walnuts, a scope of ice cream, blueberries and figs for €10. Staff were just the right amount of attentive and very friendly.

Enter down a few stairs to an atmospheric candle lit restaurant with amazing smells of various pancake types. Enjoy a beer whilst you choose from savoury or sweet pancake. Recommend the bacon, cheese and pineapple, with added tomato pancake, a full 12" wonderful and filling meal. The Canadian pancake looked great also, very filling my wife says. Service is friendly and fast, meals arrived within 5-10 mins and great value for money and a wonderful experience. Worth the walk I promise. I forgot to mention, if you think you can hear wailing cats whilst enjoying your meal, its the partners of the embrassed husbands, boyfriends and sons who think they can sing to ABBA that is playing in the background 😁

I had Savory last time, and this time I tried Sweet. I recommend Sweet over Savory.

This seemingly small restaurant is quite large on the inside. The staff was attentive and efficient. Food portions are shareable size!! We ordered an omelet and a pancake and we definitely shouldn't have, it was sooo much food. They were gigantic and delicious.

Absolutely not to be missed, don't think of the French crepe or the American pancake! Both sweet and savory. Important dimensions!!!
