My family and I had a delicious lunch here

It was absolutely delicious and also suitable for people with celiac disease. Unfortunately, a staff meeting was taking place a few tables away that morning (managers and employees were having a lively discussion and even crying), which perhaps would have been better held elsewhere. But otherwise, everything was great and the atmosphere is very nice.

Ok. I'm biased because I love pannenkoeken. Canadian son of immigrant parents who came from the Netherlands in the 1950's. But seriously, my daughter has never been to the Netherlands and she was absolutely floored by this place. Highly recommend.

With a nine-year-old craving pancakes, we went here. It’s a little cheesy, but we enjoyed it. The Nutella crepe with strawberries was a favorite as was the Healthy Breakfast, which comes with a coffee drink. At the end, they gave us little candies. Service was excellent. My daughter felt like a princess!

The Dutch pancakes were just average; nothing amazing, just a typical home-style dish.

We went mid afternoon and were lucky to get the table outside facing the canal so we could enjoy the beautiful afternoon. We got one sweet pancake, one savory pancake, and an omelette. Pancakes were giant and tasty, albeit with a slightly undercooked center. The omelette was a little dry but still delicious with fillings, and the side salad was very fresh. Service was very friendly and attentive. It really made the experience perfect!

The pancake was average, the whipped cream was definitely not freshly made, the toppings were sparse. The coffee was good. The garden right by the canal.

We were lucky enough to have lunch at one of the tables along the canal, with pancakes—huge!—and poffertjes. They were delicious, and both are available gluten-free, although contamination can't be ruled out since the cuisine is unique, but this is common at all the other pancake places I've found.

The pancake wasn't very good, but I'm glad I got to try it.

They offer vegan and gluten-free options for an extra charge. I sat in the alley and people-watched, which I really enjoyed. The poffertjes were delicious.

I came here 7 years ago and had to come back to try it again. It was just as good, even more delicious as I remember it. We had their traditional pancakes both sweet and savoury and it was plentiful and excellent. I recommend going early to get a spot by the river and if you aee lucky you will see their next door neighbour labrador who refuses to go on its walk and just stays on the ground because of the aroma from the restaurant.

She recommended the traditional Dutch pancake with bacon, cheese, and apple. I have to admit, it didn’t sound like a combination I would normally choose—but it was absolutely delicious! I’m so glad we took her recommendation. The manager, Ann, was also incredibly friendly, personable, and accommodating. We had the opportunity to talk with her for several minutes about the restaurant and some of the other traditional Dutch treats they offer. She has been with the restaurant for over eight years, and it truly shows how much she cares about her job and the guests she serves. One thing that really stood out to us was the loyalty of the employees. Many of the staff members have been with the restaurant for several years, which says so much about the company and the people who work there. You can really see the pride they take in their work and the genuine care they have for their customers. Great food, excellent service, and wonderful people. We would definitely come back and highly recommend the Pancake Bakery to anyone visiting Amsterdam! 🇳🇱❤️

We came for lunch on our first day in Amsterdam and we were charmed by this little restaurant. The service was warm and the food was excellent! Thank you for your hospitality.

We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order and at that moment someone came only because we asked. Nobody helped us with the table, nobody spoke with us, nobody gave us a menu and at the end when we told them that we did not like the way we were treated, they told us to leave. VERY RUDE!

The homemade syrup was surprisingly good but not much to write home about out on everything else including the egg omelet.

I went to get lunch on Tuesday and it was super hot, but they made sure we could get a place outside with an umbrella, and one of the waiters even lent his fan to me. The food was great we got an American and a Canadian if I’m correct and we were both thinking to get more but one pancake is so filling. The people that worked there were really nice. They made my order wrong and I didn’t even notice it was just a different kind of ice cream but very quickly they came back with the right order and still allowed me to keep the other pancake. So if you’re looking for a good pancake place worth your money in Amsterdam as a local or as a tourist, then I would definitely suggest coming here! Ik kom zeker terug!!

Lovely spot by the canal, great pancakes and really excellent service.

It is a cute little restaurant with a wide selection of pancakes. Portions are generous and the pancakes are well cooked. The staff was quite busy, which meant we sometimes had to wait a little longer. Highly recommended overall!

The dining experience is nice and we came at around 5pm and lucky enough we don't need to queue. We ordered a savoury and sweet pancake with the nachos. They are yummy and my daughter love it. The waitress is very cute and she offered some candies for my daughter😃

We went around 5:30 pm, there were hardly any people there. We tried the poffertjes with butter and powdered sugar and the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream. It was very good, especially the mini pancakes, in my opinion. We asked for water and the waitress offered us tap water, which was very cold and they didn't charge us for it. The waitress was lovely. Very quick and friendly service. It's also near the Anne Frank House.

The main advantage of this restaurant is that they offer gluten free pancakes and poffertjes. I tried their savory pancakes and I must admit it was to greasy for me but this is only my personal opinion. I will go back to try a sweet version. However the ppffertjes were to die for. Last point, to get tap water you need to order a drink..

Too greasy. Bland. Nothing like our delicious crêpes in France. The place is original and friendly, and the service is genuinely warm! But the taste just isn't there. Too heavy!

After visiting Anne Frank, this was the perfect place to go. Around 11 am, it was early lunchtime, so it wasn't crowded. It started to get busy when we left. They had bacon, which was a bit salty. Overall, the food was worth trying. The prices were reasonable. Most importantly, there were free restrooms.

Taiwanese people should avoid ordering pancakes with bacon, as they are extremely salty. Sweeter versions or those with onions and ham are much better recommended.

The food was good. Once you finally get a table, the service is excellent. Please clean the restrooms more often. Two restrooms for such a large sales area was really pushing it.

How could you travel to the Netherlands and not try the authentic pancake? After searching online, I found The Pancake Bakery in Amsterdam. Knowing it was a popular shop, I was prepared to wait in line. Luckily, the wait was only short when I went. I ordered a savory pancake (chicken, pineapple, and cheese filling). Although it's called a pancake, the texture felt more like the thin pancakes back home. I highly recommend this shop when traveling to Amsterdam!

The staff were so kind and accommodating, they found me a table right by the canals. If you’re looking to have a delicious pancake breakfast with a great view this is definitely the place.

The Pancake Bakery is nestled in a side road of Amsterdam a short walk from the Anne Frank House. It looks unassuming from the outside but is filled with charm, and you can even sit alongside the canal outside if the weather permits! We really enjoyed our pancakes. We got the Dutch and Norwegian pancakes, and the Dutch breakfast. The pancakes had a texture similar to crepes, and were generously topped with delicious fillings. The wait staff was as very kind, and knowledgeable, especially with dietary restrictions as one of our party couldn’t have cinnamon. Our waitress made sure to specify that they had an open kitchen. We really enjoyed our experience, and next time we visit Amsterdam we are likely to come back!

Beautiful place, brings an authentically old time vibe and the service was super extra. However the food was not my thing, apparently pancakes in Amsterdam look like crepes, not only there but in many places we visited, and the food overall felt a bit heavy. And my espresso tasted a bit burned, maybe they have not cleaned the machine in a while. Preference of course. I would go again but order something else.

I cannot stop thinking about the ham, cheese, and onion pancake. It was so insanely good. We got that along with the banana Nutella pancake, which was also very yummy. The restaurant has a great cozy atmosphere and the staff is super friendly.

Pancakes were yummy, good selection but very overpriced. 20 euros for a pancake - ouch! Was not outdoor weather so sat inside and was very dark and dingy vibe- need some light. But good location and selection. They also had gluten free mix which is why I went. Also you could only get tap water if you bought another drink which I felt was unfair.

Staff were very helpful however an extremely hot day. All customers sitting inside were shoehorned into one side making it tight and extremely hot while the other half was empty and considerably cooler. Had my first savoury pancake, should have stuck to the sweet option.

If you’re visiting Amsterdam, you have to try a traditional Dutch pancake, and The Pancake Bakery is a great place to do it. The pancakes were absolutely delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Even though it’s a popular spot, we were seated quickly, and there was plenty of room inside. Friendly service, great food, and an easy, relaxed atmosphere made for a wonderful family meal. Definitely worth a visit while you’re in Amsterdam.

Ordered the Dutch pancake. Perfectly delicious and had a nice crunch even on the top. Yummers! Don't order a full pancake if you're not hungry, cuz they're massive.

Really lovely dine. Great atmosphere, super accommodating in the hot weather, pretty decent pricing and lovely alcohol. We had proffertjes! Good selection of free syrups (loved the stroopwafel caramel and honey).

This was one of the worst experiences I have had in Amsterdam. Extremely bad service, staff was super rude and I live in the Netherlands so this was not typical Dutch straight forwardness. I don’t recommend.

Came here with my fiancée when we were on our engagement trip. Food was amazing along with the service/staff! The portions of the pancakes are huge but as always delicious!

The mushroom and sweet crepes were very large and delicious, the staff were friendly and the service was fast.

The server Ella spoke perfect English and was very kind and helpful. I got the bacon, cheese and onion pancake, as well as the cherry mini pancakes, and everything was amazing. Perhaps the best pancakes I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend and go there again.

The ambiance and concept of the place are truly wonderful; a lovely atmosphere greets you as soon as you enter. However, the pancake tasted below my expectations; they weren't much different from homemade ones, but the price is excessively high given its popularity. Moreover, the portion size and quantity become quite heavy after a while, tiring to eat. Sharing one pancake between two people would be a much more sensible choice in terms of both portion size and enjoyment.

Delicious food every time. We stop by the pancake bakery every time we come to Amsterdam. It's not too expensive by Amsterdam standards but the pancakes are always delicious whether you have savoury (I had the Indonesian inspired chicken satay) or sweet (my partner had something covered in chocolate and cream) and you will be full at the end. The pancakes and homemade wine were delicious, but when I asked for the bill, it took a long time to bring it. Then I noticed that the payment terminal had tip buttons from top to bottom: 10%, 15%, 20%, Custom, and No thanks. If they want tips, they should include them in the price. It can cause arguments after you've paid.

This was my first time trying Dutch pancakes. They taste like crepes, but flatter. We ordered the classic one with sweet strawberries, and the outdoor seating by the river was the best part.

The sweet one was Poffertjes, Dutch mini pancakes. These are traditional Dutch desserts, bite-sized pancakes. They're a bit like Taiwanese sponge cakes, but rounder and smaller. Although they didn't look very appealing, with the honey and powdered sugar 🍯, they weren't too sweet, and had a chewy, bouncy texture—surprisingly quite delicious. The savory one... I ordered the bacon and egg pancake. When it arrived, it looked like a giant bacon and egg omelet. The crust had a slightly crispy texture. 🥓 The bacon was extremely salty; you absolutely have to eat it with the egg and crust. But after a while, it became a bit too salty. 🙊 If you usually prefer milder flavors, you might want to pair it with a beer or a soft drink, or alternate between sweet and salty. Otherwise, you won't be able to finish it. 🧂 Conclusion: Worth a try if you're passing by; the staff is quite friendly!
