This was the 2nd time we ate here, this time using Social Deal. A great deal for 29.95 for a 3-course dinner with free choice from the menu. All dishes were very tasty. The service has improved significantly since our last visit. Everything went smoothly and was friendly. We went to eat again last week; the service was terrible, and they couldn't even manage a simple "did you enjoy it?" "Can I take your plate away?" asked a boy of about 16. Even when the food was brought, nothing was said or you heard a mumble. The carpaccio is fine, the chicken satay is not tasty, it tastes like water chicken, and the dessert, cheesecake, tastes like a cheap supermarket flan. A shame for such a beautiful place and location.

Ordering a drink isn't easy. No wheat beer, only Aflichem 0.0, according to the staff anyway, but a moment later I see 2 bottles of Paulaner wheat beer pass by, heading towards another table. The service is terrible; I saw several customers leave already, they just weren't being served. They are mainly focused on not being in sight, even when you want to pay, a shame. I'm done with the Colonel.

Main courses are mostly deep-fried; I certainly wouldn't eat there again. The schnitzel came straight from the fryer, the side dishes were very mediocre, and I didn't see any vegetables either. We got coffee as compensation, but it was cold, shame on you, Colonel😬.

Soup, salad, and bread were very tasty. Ice cream portion was good, but a bit crystallized. Spareribs and schnitzel were fine. Service was not very fast and dropped a few things. It is a nice terrace in itself, but as a non-smoker it is annoying that there is nowhere to sit out of the smoke from the large number of smokers.

Located on Slotlaan, the shopping street of Zeist; a lovely place to relax, eat, and drink.

Cozy terrace, with incredibly friendly and hardworking people. They make everyone feel welcome and are willing to create extra seating so that everyone can sit down and enjoy something on the terrace. Plenty of choice on the menu.

Well, the food was just really tasty. However, the service was less than ideal. They didn't clear empty glasses, and because of that, our table remained full. It took a very long time for the drinks, even though it wasn't really busy. My boyfriend asked a waitress for cutlery, and when she brought it, I got a death glare from her for no reason or anything. And while the atmosphere was actually quite nice, the staff was disappointing. So my boyfriend also said that we won't be coming back here because we don't feel comfortable there.

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment. We waited 20 minutes before someone came to serve our table, and then another nearly 15 minutes before we received our drinks. The food itself was good, but we did not receive the sauce we ordered and my plate of spaghetti was ridiculously small — more like a child's portion. It was the first time I left a restaurant hungry after ordering both a starter and a main course. Afterwards, we had to wait nearly 10 minutes again for a simple draft beer. The staff pays absolutely no attention to whether you have anything to drink, does not come to ask if everything is to your liking or if you want to order anything else. During the meal, we were served fries as a kind of compensation, even though my friend already had a full plate of fries. I indicated that I was dissatisfied with the portion size, but instead of a compromise (such as an extra portion or a lower price), I only received excuses.

The staff is polite, nice, and helpful. We ordered the food around 7:30. We didn't receive it until an hour later; we finally got the food around 8:30 at 8:22 PM.

The terrace is fine in the sun; it used to be like that. The restaurant is bad. We arrived on a relatively quiet evening, and to keep the story short, I will list a few things: - The starters were fine, but we had a Social Deal and they listed a number of main courses as extra charges; when we received the bill, it turned out that the carpaccio also had an extra charge. - The beef tenderloin tips were very well done (they also didn't ask how we wanted them cooked). - The spareribs were incredibly tough. Far from tender. - When we were finished, the waiter wanted to clear our table; he did so for half the time, and after 5 minutes he came back with the message: "Sorry, I just forgot what I was doing..." - When we asked what the Mexican coffee was with dessert (it's on the menu), neither the waiter nor the bartender knew. After Googling for a few minutes, the waiter said that it was Kahlua and tequila, to which the bartender mumbled, "She can choose one, but I'm not doing both..." I found this outrageous. - and as the cherry on top, I had a Dame Blanche (because it was the only dessert left, along with apple pie), which was served to me with the cap of the whipped cream dispenser on my plate. After I pointed it out, the waiter just said 'damn it' and walked away. No apology whatsoever. All in all, a BAD experience. I won't be coming back here.

Beautiful terrace on Slotlaan in Zeist!! Ordered a nice Heineken beer and a Limoncello!! But we also ordered Loaded Fries from the menu!! Crispy fries with truffle mayo and Parmesan cheese!! Such a shame that it was a plate of soggy (factory-made) French fries with some grated cheese on top and a few small red onions!! It might just be me, but for €9.50 you expect those tasty artisanal fries, and crispy ones at that, not soggy!! Just forget about Loaded then!! This is constructive criticism because it seems to me that the owner wants to know what customers think!! We will keep coming back and ordering a Heineken beer and Limoncello!!!

Good food, but it was cold when served. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and had to go inside to get them ourselves. We waited almost two hours for the food. It was moderately busy.

I think I ate the nastiest satay ever, at the Colonel. Soggy meat, greasy, and actually pretty gross. Hardly any fries on the side, and the satay sauce was hidden under stuff in a container you didn't order. All in all, not recommended!

We went here yesterday after drinks, but unfortunately, the experience wasn't pleasant. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very unfriendly. The waitress told us we weren't allowed on the terrace and even said she was grumpy. The security guard (a somewhat plump, bald man) was also very angry and unfriendly to young people who were doing nothing wrong. Furthermore, our drinks orders were lost and never arrived. Such a shame!

I sat here with some friends for a drink. The only problem was the security guard was absolutely awful. He was incredibly antisocial and unfriendly. He was a somewhat overweight man who is bald and has color. I absolutely hated this experience. NEVER AGAIN!

Chill place in Zeist, in the Utrecht Providence area. They make really good espresso martinis. They have outdoor fire pits to warm up the patio during the winter.

We've eaten here before, and it was always good. Unfortunately, today was very disappointing. The croquette I received seemed spoiled. When I pointed this out to the staff, they said it was perfectly fine, even though it clearly wasn't. We also had to wait a very long time for both drinks and food. What makes it even more worrying: once we got home, my girlfriend became nauseous and vomited. She's now in bed with a stomach ache. This makes the experience very disappointing and worrying, especially since previous visits had been positive.

We dropped in for dinner spontaneously. We each ordered a main course. The young man who initially helped us was very nice, used to working in the hospitality industry. After ordering, it took a very long time for the food to arrive: a classic hamburger that was supposed to have cheese sauce, but with a slice of cheddar that hadn't even melted. Schnitzel with mushroom sauce was lumpy. Half a farm chicken in its own juices, without juices and with gorgonzola sauce that tasted awful. A small portion of fries for 5 people, and if we wanted something extra, it cost €4. Definitely not worth €150. The woman who took over the service was more occupied with her friend/colleague/sister than with the rest of the restaurant.

Had lunch here with a friend, and it took a while for our order to be taken. The service was young and curt. We ordered a brie sandwich and a carpaccio sandwich. The brie sandwich had two wafer-thin slices per slice. We asked for white bread but received brown bread. A clump of unprepared lettuce lay next to it with no garnish. The carpaccio sandwich had minimal truffle mayonnaise and was also very thinly topped. We had to wait about 40 minutes for our sandwiches, so we were just happy to have something to eat. The service staff didn't say anything. They didn't ask if we enjoyed it or if everything was to our liking.

The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is always good. Even now, in winter, you can sit outside in the warmth—what more could you need?

There was a Christmas market. And the shop was chaotic. No orders were being taken, etc. Panic among the few staff. This, despite it not being busy. On a beautiful summer day, it's three times busier there than it is now. We'll just assume this was an isolated incident.

The spare ribs were tough, the fries were super thin, and a small portion for four people wasn't enough. Asking for extra fries cost an extra 4 euros. The dessert was delicious, Dameblanch. Very good value for money. The restaurant was (unexpectedly) packed on Saturday evening. This was due to our 50% discount on The Fork. Be aware, however, that this will be passed on to you. The menu isn't too extensive, and as a result, all dishes are very tasty. Points for improvement: One small bowl of fries for 4 people is too little. It's a shame, because a social deal is a marketing tool, designed to introduce your restaurant to as many people as possible. We were allowed to order 3 courses from the menu outside of the deal because they didn't yet know what the deal entailed, which was a nice touch. The appetizer: a very small portion of scallops. They were rubbery, frozen, poorly grilled, and covered in sauce. The chef loves to douse everything in sauce. The carpaccio was bland and served with slush and lettuce. The main course: beef tenderloin steak. The flavor was okay, but again, it was covered in sauce. The other main course was tuna steak, which tasted watery, wasn't grilled well, and wasn't fresh. I know it's a bistro and you shouldn't expect too much, but if you can't deliver quality, don't put this kind of dish on the menu. There are plenty of bistros where I've had a good meal. Anyway, even the dessert was bland; I couldn't distinguish the flavors of the different scoops. Never had such bad service in a restaurant. We waited an hour and a half for our food!!! It was delicious, though. Order four drinks and get two! I'll never go back.

We regularly visit De Colonel. In the summer, they have a lovely terrace. This time we had lunch inside. We chose the extensive "uitmijter" (fried sandwich) a la Colonel and a very generously filled ham sandwich. Everything was excellent. The service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had to wait 25 minutes for a drink, then 15 minutes for bread, which arrived at the same time as the main course. In total, we waited over an hour for food, supposedly because everyone arrived at the same time. One girl worked incredibly hard, the rest did very little. The food was okay, not very interesting; the fries and kids' food were lukewarm.

Great food, excellent price-quality ratio

I ate here yesterday. And this is exactly what I'm looking for when I want to have a nice drink and eat something. No fuss, no creams or gels, just good food. We had half a chicken and spare ribs. The chicken was well-seasoned and very tender, and the Burgundian vegetables were also delicious. The spare ribs were cooked perfectly, but not overcooked. I would definitely go here for a company get-together or Grandma's birthday, for example. There's something for everyone on the menu.

Impossible to order. I've been coming here regularly for years, and apparently, I'm not nice enough to be helped. The waitstaff looks around, and I have to walk to the bar regularly. Why do I still go there? They have my favorite beer and the F1 on big screens.

The meatball sandwich is really great

So you're happily chilling out, and then you're sent away to a terrace where there are still plenty of people and plenty of seats, just as you're about to start another round of drinks. But the "we didn't order enough" double bittergarnituur (a type of Dutch snack) and enough rounds of drinks didn't help. The waiter wasn't even allowed to apologize for sending us away by the boss. Absurd. A sleazy place.

Halfway along the only major shopping street in the municipality of Zeist lies café-restaurant de Colonel. Cozy outdoor terrace and a small, inviting indoor terrace. Reasonable prices and good beers. Escape the hustle and bustle of shoppers and speeding cars on the heated outdoor terrace. A wonderful local anesthetic.

The food tasted good, and the server was polite and attentive. However, drinks were initially forgotten, and when they arrived, no ice. The salad was supposed to come with bread (they also requested white or brown). When the bread was served, it was forgotten. The server remarked that it had been forgotten, but then did nothing about it.

By chance I ended up at this restaurant. Very cozy place with a terrace and a covered heated terrace. I took the menu (starter, main course and dessert or coffee/tea).. I chose the Carpaccio as a starter. This is by far the tastiest version I have ever eaten 🌹👍🌹, definitely recommended! The hamburger was unfortunately a bit disappointing in terms of preparation (much too dry), the taste was just right 👍 ​​and surprisingly the fries were perfectly cooked. The right thickness, nice and crispy and creamy inside. The waiter was very professional and very friendly, deserved the tip twice over. From the hotel Theater Figi to the restaurant a 12-minute walk along a cozy shopping street. Without a doubt recommended 🌹👍🌹
