Loetje Zeist in Wijk 01 Centrum Zeist

On Christmas Day, a bit of an unexpected disappointment. We had just been to this location. The place wasn't very warm upon arrival; I was glad I was still wearing a sweater. There wasn't much of an atmosphere and the music wasn't pleasant. The chairs were very uncomfortable, and the tables were barely as small as a tray. The service was very good and fast, although the food wasn't very warm. Ultimately, I went home with a somewhat so-so experience.

Last Christmas, we enjoyed it as a celebration, but this year it was a huge disappointment. It was more like a McDonald's, with tables crammed together to boost the profit model. It was so cramped that the waitress, with her chubby ass, almost fell on my plate. With knife and fork at the ready, I nearly got a steak to go with it. They didn't even ask how it was cooked. I wouldn't go back.

The tables were a bit too close together and lined up like a classroom. Perhaps this was to accommodate the Christmas Eve crowds, but it struck me.

I loved the steak, but I found the gravy around it very greasy.

We ate at Loetje Zeist today and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff is cheerful, friendly, and helpful. Both the food and the dessert were delicious. You can tell they care about their guests, making you feel instantly welcome. Definitely a place we'll return to.

We had a delicious meal: smoked salmon, tenderloin steak, and the snowball. I did have a stomach ache the rest of the evening, probably from the fat. We had a reservation at 7:45, but they didn't ask us what we wanted to eat until 7:30. There weren't enough staff, and around 9:30 he told us they were going to increase the pressure, so if we wanted one last drink, we could still do so now, as they were almost closing. 9:30 is really too early to close. We had a pleasant and delicious evening. It was quite pricey, though, and I've never experienced that before, and you have to pay extra for side dishes.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves a delicious, tender steak. Served with white bread, if desired, for dipping in the delicious jus... No downsides found.

I've eaten here twice now. I made reservations twice, but they weren't seated. I had to wait over half an hour both times. The staff is a bit curt and seems in a hurry. I'd rather go to another location.

Just keep it simple: a good old-fashioned Dutch steak, delicious with gravy and white bread. Nothing to complain about! I wouldn't go to Zoetje for lunch because it's not very busy and cozy. Had a delicious steak with tasty gravy. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.

The food was excellent! Starter: shrimp croquettes, carpaccio with truffle sauce, and steak tartare. Main: Balinese steak, classic steak, and garlic steak. Sweet potato fries and regular fries. Dessert: coffee, crème brûlée, and passion fruit-mango dessert. Everything was at the perfect temperature, a good portion size, and very flavorful. I loved that I tasted the vanilla seeds in the crème brûlée! The service was good; they came by frequently to check on us. Fortunately, the music wasn't too loud, so we could hear each other without shouting. The only minor complaints were that we were a bit cramped and it took quite a while for our next course to arrive.

The starter was superb, the main course was tenderloin, which was incredibly tender but left me with stomach problems all night. The atmosphere and service were friendly and professional.

The restaurant was quite full. We were put in a corner. The staff needed a little more time to deliver items and take additional orders. The food contained more than enough, if not too much, salt.

Lunch with a friend who ordered the "uitsmijter" (fried bread with fried eggs): preferably with a broken yolk. It came with whole yolks. I had the "12-o'clock snack." Cold soup that was quickly heated in the microwave: unpleasant, much too thick (due to flour slurry or something), a nasty mess. Country bread: worthless, thin "supermarket" slices. Lukewarm croquette. Not worth repeating.

A lovely Loetje location, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was exactly as requested, even with a sizable group that ate à la carte.

Fantastic evening at Loetje Zeist with friends. High-quality food, warm service, and the eternally cheerful Angela keeping everything running smoothly (even with Princess Lucy the chow chow deciding the seating plan—slide in!). Carpaccio, XL Bali steak (blue, of course), mushrooms, chips, and a chocolate trio to finish. It left me wanting more. I’ll be back. Loetje without steak is like Amsterdam without a bike. 🚲🥩

I had a chicken satay the size of a children's menu. The chicken was overcooked, making it less tender. It was a tough piece of meat. There was just enough satay sauce on the chicken. So you can forget about dipping the prawn crackers in the satay sauce. Price: €20. The carpaccio was a few slices of thinly sliced ​​meat with a small amount of salad and a tiny bit of dressing on top. The white edges were visible on the plate. Cost cutting? We therefore asked for extra olive oil just to be able to eat it. It looked rather sad and definitely not suitable if you're a carpaccio lover. Price: €15.50 When the food was served, we ordered a Coke. We still had to get one when we paid. The young man who helped us was correct, but the service was otherwise chaotic and lacked structure, with everyone busy with everything. If you want a steak, you'll have to pay around €40 (about 300g) if you're a foodie. Even if it were delicious, it's still just a regular steak. A steak costs about €25 to €29 for 150g. We went across the street for dessert. They have delicious homemade ice cream. A bowl of three flavors cost about €5 and made the evening even better. I don't think Loetje will see us here often.

Luckily, I had a good experience here. Loetje Houten is really bad, especially the service. But we were greeted warmly from the start. The lady clearly enjoyed her work, and the young man behind her was also cheerful. The food is okay, but it's really overpriced. It was okay, but I've seen enough of Loetje. The steak, in particular, is very expensive and truly subpar. If you want to eat good meat, I recommend Meat & More or Het Zuiden in Utrecht.

A nice, trendy place, but the food isn't worth the price. One person had already finished eating before the next person got theirs, the waitress was struggling to open a bottle of wine, and the so-called "loetje" bitterballen were lukewarm inside. It was all just not quite right. Not worth going back.

Made a reservation for 9:00 PM, kitchen open until 9:30 PM. Paid for parking. When we arrived, the kitchen had already been cleaned. Poor. They should have blocked the bookings. Loetjes in Amsterdam are more welcoming and accommodating. They could learn a thing or two in Zeist. It wasn't full at all; no, give us Amsterdam or Ouderkerk. Too bad. As a long-time Zeist resident, I should have known that hospitality isn't highly valued here.

Just the way you want a steak to taste!

The steak was covered in fat, and the lettuce was clearly from yesterday or even earlier, completely discolored. The waiter was nowhere to be seen; by the time he arrived, the rest of the table had finished eating. The steak and a drink were taken off the bill, but the lettuce wasn't, because they said it was delivered that way... I'll just have an egg fried at home, sigh.

Good food but the price was on the high side

Had a delicious lunch here with an Albert Heijn voucher. The steak was delicious, medium rare, with garlic jus. Friendly service. The interior looked nice and spacious. The outside was also neat, but I can't lie about the view. It's between apartment buildings at an intersection with rattling traffic lights. But it was delicious!

I eat at Loetje more often at different locations but I have never eaten so badly. We had 3 steaks with fries, mushrooms and onions. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food. The gravy with my son's steak was very salty, the fries were lukewarm and the onions were burnt! Normally I finish my meal at Loetje with a sticky toffee but I was so done with it that I skipped it. You won't see me back at Loetje Zeist anytime soon.

Second time visiting Zeist and second time to Loetje. Lovely food. Hubbie loved the steak, gravy and bread. Different to what we have in the UK. Enjoyed my salad too. Great spot and nice outdoor eating area. Highly recommend 👍

Food itself was okay, had the Jackfruit Rendang, and it was similar to how I would make it at home. Adequate, but not fantastic. Espresso macchiato didn't even remotely resemble an espresso, more like a miniature cappucino. Not tasty, watery and way too much milk. The environment was noisy, but we were next to the (open) kitchen.

Ons eerste bezoek aan Loetje Zeist is meteen onze laatste, want het voldeed helaas niet aan onze verwachting. De bediening kan veel professioneler, de serveerster gedroeg zich vreemd, amateuristisch; daarnaast was de friet lauw toen deze in 2 bruine schaaltjes op tafel werd gezet. Ook had 1 persoon beduidend minder biefstuk dan de ander met dezelfde bestelling. De biefstuk smaakte heerlijk! In de salade waren de slablaadjes veel te groot (gelaten) gedrapeerd in 2 veel te kleine schaaltjes, alles hing over de randen heen. De sladressing smaakte erg goed! De sticky toffee werd aangeraden, maar bleek gortdroog, dus juist geen aanrader jammer genoeg. Kortom: Loetje Zeist heeft nog veel werk te verzetten; wij gaan hier niet meer naar toe in ieder geval, jammer, echt een gemiste kans. Wij rijden na deze avond liever iets verder naar een andere vestiging bijv. Laren, Breukelen, waar zowel de kwaliteit van het eten als de service constant goed is.

Unfortunately, the 0.0 steak was really unedible. Tasted like nothing and was super salty, as if you were just eating salt. All the waitress said was 'apologies' and walked away. Wasted €25. If you want to eat something that doesn't taste like anything and feel like you're eating a tube of salt, then choose this steak! Waste of your money. The desserts were okay.

Following the vibe of all Loetjes we went for the classic meat portion of 200Gr was good portion size if you combine it with some sides we got sweet potatoes and green beans and was enough for all 3 of us. Would revisit to anyone who wants some decent meat in the area.

After having a bad experience 2 months ago, we went back 2 weeks ago to give Loetje Zeist a second chance. And that was a great success! There was an extra girl in the service and you could immediately see that the ladies were able to serve all the guests in a proper way. The portions were good and the steak (after a short hesitation we chose rare/rare again) was warm inside and out. Quality as we were always used to from Loetje. Starter, main course and dessert were worth repeating. Very nice and we will reserve a table again soon. Thank you!

This Loetje really disappointed me. Uncosy, cold atmosphere. The steak does not have the nice crispy 'crust' that I am used to. Moreover, we were not asked how we wanted the steak cooked. The fries themselves were not tasty, so limp. And the service... not bad but they just couldn't handle it.

For a good steak you have to go to Loetje. It was very busy but we were still able to get a seat at a high table. Definitely worth it. Make a reservation if you want to be sure of a spot.

Lunch genoten, vriendelijke bediening. Eten smaakte prima maar is aan de prijs. 12 uurtje 14 euro. Lekkere chardonnay erbij gedronken voor 6euro 75 per glas. Vind ik een hoge prijs. Het liep vlot door en het stond snel op tafel. In het centrum van Zeist. Parkeerplaats om de hoek wel betaald.

To make mistakes is human, but it's how you solve them that matters. And that was very disappointing! We have enjoyed eating at Loetje Zeist (every other month) for a long time. And luckily always without any problems, until yesterday. The eel was finger licking good and the girl serving was great! But when the steak was served, it turned out to be cold. Now I know that when I order steak rare, the inside is difficult to get warm, but the outside was also cold! (It may have been waiting in the kitchen for a while, because the two waitress ladies were very busy with the full restaurant.) When the waitress girl noticed us after a while, I told her that the meat was cold and she took it. my meat back to the kitchen. (My dad was fine with it that way and was afraid the meat would be thrown away, so he wanted to eat it cold.) A few minutes later my meat came back warm. But it was far from red. My piece was simply put back in the pan!! If you ask me, this starts with a wrong choice! The meat was never red anymore and had become medium and even worse: dry. I was very surprised with this 'solution'! But because my dad had almost finished his meat and the waitress ladies were too busy, I decided to eat it and leave it at that. And when I honestly answered the question "did you enjoy it" with no, the girl took this answer to the manager. However, he did not come to me for an explanation or to look for a solution and informed me through the girl that we can have a cup of coffee?! Disappointing handling. Because if you pay around 30 euros for a steak, you can expect it to be better than at home. We did not accept the coffee and did not order any more dessert. I've had my fill of this shop for the time being and we'll try again when a solution-oriented manager starts working in Zeist.

The service was taken care of down to the last detail and the staff exuded friendliness and professionalism. The food, as always, did not disappoint. The steak was very well prepared and definitely recommended, the fries were also wonderfully crispy, served in generous portions and the mayonnaise was certainly not sparingly used. 5 stars!

Wij waren aldaar met 13 spelers van hockeyclub HCS 45+ 4 De meeste kregen een traditionele malse biefstuk. Er waren er die vis namen en ook daarover zeer tevreden waren. De ambiance was zeer gezellig. En het personeel is en was zeer vriendelijk. Vooral voor Marije was niets te veel 13 man persoonlijk afrekenen geen probleem maak wel een rondje rond te tafel. Kijk dat is service. De wijnen waren goed

I'm not a fan of all the chains that take over the market at the expense of local restaurants, but because my birthday father-in-law wanted to eat here, I ended up there too. I was a bit disappointed with the much-praised steak. It was cooked medium (should be medium-rare), but OK. The taste was fine, but no more than that, you could taste that it was not the highest quality meat. The sambal gravy (bali) was very tasty. The wine list was also excellent, the primitivo is definitely recommended. The service worked hard and was friendly. You also noticed a staff shortage here, because even though everyone was running their lungs out, it sometimes took a long time before you got your dish or drink, or just their attention. The atmosphere was okay, nothing exciting, just a normal setting. In short, we had a great evening, but next time I'll just go to a local restaurant ;)

Everything is right in this case. The ambiance, the friendly customer-oriented service, the quality of the food. Everything is great. But that's what you pay for. Very expensive here, but otherwise great.

The food is fine, although I think the mayonnaise with the very salty fries could be sweeter than the sour version that Loetje uses, but that is secondary. Quite a few things went wrong, even though it was quiet (5 other tables in the afternoon). Wrong drinks, three dishes on the table while two had been ordered (good on receipt), wrong type of bread with one dish, aioli with the fries instead of mayonnaise... apparently there is someone in the kitchen who does not speak the Dutch language and that matters confusion in addition to costing the entrepreneur money. On the other hand, Loetje is quite pricey, so it probably won't hurt them that much if things go wrong. The atmosphere is also great and the staff is friendly.

I was at the restaurant today 27/09/2024 with my family, and it wasn't a good experience. The wait time is normal, since it's a busy restaurant. My problem started when the waitress was serving the food. She served the food over the person, and obviously that didn't end well for me. When she served it over my father-in-law and handed it to me, she spilled part of the sauce from the plate on me, wetting part of my belly and pants. The sauce was hot and I'm pregnant. She wiped me with a cloth to clean myself and that was it. She didn't apologize. After that experience, unfortunately, everything went wrong for me. I didn't like the food. I thought the sauce was very greasy. Unfortunately, I have no desire to go back. There were 3 adults and 1 child. We paid 165 euros, which was expensive for a terrible experience.
