De Griek XL in Wijk 01 Middelaar

Very tasty gyros. Not greasy, delicious flavor. Sweet and friendly service, and they immediately brought a bowl of water for the dog. I would gladly go back here.

We had a delicious meal; I ordered a dish with bifteki. We had asked if the dog could come along, and that was no problem at all. We had barely arrived when a bowl of water was already placed by the dog. They are incredibly hospitable here. And the food was definitely worth a repeat visit. Before the meal, we were served a basket of baguette with delicious tzatziki, and after the meal, we even got a piece of watermelon. Just like you see in Greece. I felt like I was on vacation for a moment ☺️

Unfortunately, we still hadn't been served after 20 minutes, so we left. If it had been full, I could have understood, but like this... Sorry.

What a shame! We got takeout a few times during the corona period, and now we were going to eat at the restaurant itself. We were looking forward to it! Service and drinks took a while to arrive, but that can happen. In the end, we waited 1.5 hours for the main courses. One main course and the fries were missing. We pointed this out to the wait staff. A little later, the wrong main course was brought. This was taken back with a lot of irritation. Shortly after that, the correct main course and the fries were slammed down on the table. It is unacceptable how rude the wait staff were about this. I spoke to the girl in question and another member of the wait staff about this and received the response that it is not her restaurant... I even spoke to the owner about it. In short, a disappointing evening....

Had a super delicious meal, clean place, open kitchen, nice tender meat, friendly owner and staff. The best food I have ever eaten at, we will eat there again soon, I am on vacation now.

Where do I even begin.... The reception was chaotic. Next, we (a group of 6) were asked if we could pay in cash. Eventually, we were able to pay by card after all. Okay. We waited an incredibly long time for starters and main courses. For one person, the food didn't arrive, and no fries came with the other dishes. Furthermore, it turned out the ordered rice was sold out. After asking and waiting multiple times, it eventually arrived, but the wait staff just threw it on the table. By then, the rest of the group was almost finished eating. The stifado was very disappointing; otherwise, the food was okay. In the end, part of the bill was deducted as compensation, but you will never see us back here again. It's a shame, because 6 years ago during the corona period, we got takeout here several times and always had a good meal. Unfortunately, I have now had to revise my review from back then.

As soon as 50% of the tables are occupied, the kitchen is completely overwhelmed. There's an endless wait, and then the portions arrive in stages. The meat is already cold by the time the fries and tzatziki arrive. But the food itself is delicious.

This place simply isn't suitable for large groups. The wait times are incredibly long. The service is terrible; they don't even bring drinks. The food is actually really delicious, when it finally arrives—in our case, after 2.5 hours! Half of it is missing, and you have to keep going back to the counter to complain or even get the fries yourself. It's unsatisfactory for everyone involved, and I feel sorry for the restaurant, but this just isn't acceptable.

We just waited. An hour for a piece of pita bread with Tzatziki, and we asked for it 3 times. Asked 3 times in an hour if we could have something to drink. Several tables emptied because these guests weren't being served either. After 1.5 hours, the starter arrived for us, spread out over time. So not at the same time. Waited another half hour for the main course. We helped clear up because the staff didn't come. I looked into the kitchen. Food that fell on the floor was put straight back on the plate... they were working without gloves. Then, after 3 promises, it turned out that the preparation for the main course wasn't underway yet. Paid for the starter and left... we are never coming here again. Bad service. And a dirty, unhygienic kitchen. Horrible.

Just waiting a bit for the food. It's worth the wait.

Not recommended. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks order, the appetizers arrived individually, 10 minutes apart, and the last one came with the main course. Several guests were dissatisfied. It was our first and last time.

Friendly, like joining people at their home at the table. It is also lovely to order and pick up the food.

Had a delicious meal,👍🏽 Friendly and welcoming.🥰 Beautiful terrace.

Very good value for money with great food. The service was a bit slow but they made up for it with their friendly attitude. The octopus and keftedakis were our favorites. Must try place in Plasmolen.

The food was tasty, but everything took a long time to arrive.

We had a delicious meal and it's a really cozy place. I found the food to be authentic Greek, and if we ever camp in Plasmolen again, we know where to go for a nice meal. Thank you.

Friendly and pleasant service, very tasty food. And let's not forget the ouzo. 😂 Definitely recommended 👌👌

Very good quality. Home delivery and everything was warm, neat, and well packaged. You can see and taste in everything that it was prepared with care ❤️

We had a quick bite here yesterday because we had to move on. What a fantastic place! I really love Greek food and both my wife and I thought the bifteki were the best we have ever eaten. The kids had steak and it just melts in your mouth, truly amazing. The owner is also a super friendly man who knows his trade (he's a hospitality professional).

We got takeout food from here, and it was delicious. It was well packaged so it arrived warm and crispy. We'll definitely be back to eat in the restaurant.

Enjoyed a delicious vegetarian meal with friendly service.

I was able to order through Thuisbezorgd. After 10 minutes, I canceled the order even though I'd already paid. I couldn't contact them by phone to schedule a pickup. Now I have to wait another three business days for a refund. It's a real shame; I won't be ordering from them again.

I placed an order through Thuisbezorgd and it was canceled for no reason. They're also completely unreachable by phone. A bit of a shame, since payment has already been made.

Picked up two plates of gyros today. They were delicious. Thanks, Greek XL.

We ordered takeout. Two gyro platters. The food was delicious and the service was friendly.

The food was very good and delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't get ouzo, even though it was being served to neighboring tables. Bringing a dog was no problem. Please also check the bill; we were overcharged for drinks. But we would still come back.

We had a delicious meal for a reasonable price. We also had food delivered to the holiday park later in the week, which was also great.

Excellent food, highly recommended!

It's bizarre that ordering through Thuisbezorgd is €4 or €5 cheaper than picking it up. When we spoke to the owner, he only mentioned home delivery prices. So apparently, having it delivered is cheaper than picking it up yourself. It's just bizarre.

Very cozy restaurant with delicious dishes.

Very tasty food, nice family atmosphere and also good price for students

Delicious, delicious, delicious. And friendly staff.

Veel variatie, goede smaak en advies van chef zeker opvolgen. Informeel contact met eigenaar. Humor hoog in vaandel staan.

Fantastic food! Very welcoming and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for authentic Greek dishes.

Delicious food! Owner is friendly and attentive. Service has a smile and that makes them friendly. The food is home made. You can really taste that. We had the medeza xxl.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have no idea how this place gets a 4.5. The service is terrible, far from friendly, polite at best, and the food is terrible: sometimes the meat is undercooked, the fries are from the day before yesterday, and they've already been in the fryer three times. The wait was over an hour, even though it wasn't busy. Never again!

Very tasty food, it was ready very quickly, friendly staff, the owner takes good care of his customers and you get the feeling that you are at home, the atmosphere is good, really great, we will definitely come back for us, a big 10

Got food here, quality is just good. Owner does his best but due to lack of staff he has to make do with young staff, and then sometimes things go wrong..... My suggestion is to get it to go here.

Very, very tasty food, a friendly chef, and free ouzo refills were often offered. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good food, friendly staff and after dinner a great evening of after-dinner chatting! Thanks for this wonderful evening!

To be fair, the food was really good. But the service... sorry people, you still have a lot to learn. This time not recommended

Very unfortunate, another guest had been waiting for at least 30 minutes for any service and simply walked away. Some dishes are heated up in the microwave, and they only have 1 toilet in which the space is also very sparse and very dirty before you go to the toilet and they blame other people. In addition, another guest was accused of drinking 3 glasses while she had only had 1 and she still had to pay for it. They clearly do not have their affairs in order and you also pay a lot for service that you do not receive. In addition, it wasn't even that busy so they could have provided good service. Before you could ask anything, the waiter was gone again.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is not very nice, the service is just nothing and the sanitary facilities are not maintained and then as a customer you are told that you have to clean the sanitary facilities while you have not done anything, so in short it is just a crappy restaurant.

Well, very good food. cozy atmosphere. The restaurant owner is friendly and attentive to the guests. I prepare my own food, which is doubly nice. Definitely recommended!

The food is fine. However, because the owner is drunk and noisy, a nasty atmosphere is created. Happened to this several times there.

What delicious food (grilled chicken) with tasty fresh salad and good fries. The owner is a nice man! Highly recommended to eat here

Friendly owner and good service. Food was fine.

The food is great and the service is great too!!! I advise everyone to drive past Dimitri's and drive to Plasmolen. Top tent

Super, Nice people! Attentive service, great Mezedes (Greek tapas) XXL. Hertog Jan on tap, never an empty glass. It was quiet, but that is to be expected in winter weather at this location, not disturbing, in fact it was nice and personal. Good atmosphere, nice service. Price-quality in a good ratio! Fresh ingredients on the plate. Not next to my door, but definitely again next time if I'm in the area.

A pleasant welcome. Super good food and nice service. The owner is a super nice and enthusiastic man. It was our first time but definitely not the last. Keep it up.

What a ball tent. You order on Thuisbezorgd and only receive an email after half an hour that your order has been canceled. The restaurant itself is almost always empty. So they won't need the money with their practices. Greetings

We have been eating here regularly for years with our children, with love and pleasure. It is very cozy, open kitchen, exceptionally great food, the chef is really great! Good price-quality. The owner is warm, friendly and involved. This is and remains “our” Greek!

Been here for the first and last time. The seafood in particular was not fresh. Main course was mediocre, not really bad. Little flavor to the food and a thimbleful of raw vegetables for two people. Also a mini bowl of fries. We have already been to many Greek restaurants, but this one is very disappointing in comparison. Owner and family are very noisy and a bit too jovial for someone I don't know. The atmosphere sucked and it wasn't very warm. No repeat for us, sorry 😞

The food was excellent, freshly prepared. The gyros were not dry and well seasoned. The bifteki are nice and juicy. The souvlaki skewer is also juicy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. The tzatziki didn't taste too dominantly of garlic, and is probably homemade too.

The food was very tasty. Friendly, attentive and the price was reasonable. Can only recommend it......

Delicious food here. Not such a big restaurant…. The chef himself says, the food here is top notch. From what we tasted, he is absolutely right. Excellent service. Full house... is not without reason. In short, highly recommended!!!!

It takes an incredibly long time until a waiter comes and the rest takes its course 😡...a portion of fries for 4 men

Delicious meal with the whole family. Even for the little ones, a wide choice of steak, salmon, chicken and gyros. That's something different than a frikandel. They think about the children (10, 11 months and 3 years) all evening long. Had a great evening and delicious food.

Delicious food and the staff was super friendly. We were a group of 10 people, including 3 children, and thanks to the staff, they also had a very nice evening. Thank you very much

Food was delicious. But too expensive for a Greek. And what I missed was the Uso. It's a shame

Secretly a pretty good Greek! Good food and fair prices. Not recommended if you are in a hurry, it took quite a while and was not yet very busy.

The food was delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired. There were (far) too few staff with so many guests. The ordered arrived late, wrong or not. In the end we had a delicious meal, the meat was great!

Delicious pita gyros picked up, nice owner! Gyros were delicious and the tzatziki delicious! Enjoyed thanks!

The meat was great, we had souflaki.. served with raw vegetables (top left of my plate) and fries. Very little sauce, small bowl of fries, I just walked in for another bowl and of course mayo (we're still Dutch, aren't we) No music, we missed that. It felt quite rushed... did you enjoy food like that? We got an ouzo on the house.. thanks see you soon. The kitchen is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Delicious food, warm welcome, friendly service. Recommended! We will definitely come more often.

The owner said “I'm going to make the most delicious hair salon you've ever tasted!” And that was really true! Everything super fresh and really tasty! Highly recommended! 😃

Very nice owner. Good food and drinks. Friendly service and a beautiful backyard to dine in.

Delicious food and super friendly staff and boss

Nice and loose and delicious gyros

Delicious food, fresh, friendly and funny service😍 You can see what is being prepared in the kitchen. 🤩

Meat perfect, but attachment not worth mentioning.

We hadden tapas de luxe voor € 44,50 per persoon. We hebben zo weinig gehad het was ons nog 20 euro waard.Ze vroegen ook niet of het voldoende was.

Were just there. Friendly service. Very good suflaki, gyros and meatballs in tomato sauce. An ozou for dessert

Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. Top service. Successful night !! We will be back!

Everything went wrong. Had to wait almost 1 hour for food. 3 x wrong menu. Meat was raw, back to kitchen . Came back in small pieces well done with the chef's apology. Most of the meat was not hot. Full bill despite asking for a fair price... The excuse was that the cook had run away and that was why it was so busy. 1 big flop, not recommended!

If you like meat and conviviality, you've come to the right place. Prices are below the national average. A nice terrace where you can enjoy the sun. You have takeaway and delivery here, but sitting on site is definitely recommended.

On a large catering square in Plasmolen. The to-go dishes are great.

The worst Greek I have ever met. The food is completely exorbitant in terms of prices. The quality of the food is inferior. As a chef, I can make that statement with a clear conscience. In other countries, the health department would intervene 99.999999 percent of the time. It is clear to us that we will not visit this restaurant again. There are by far better places nearby.

Had a delicious meal with my mother and sister. Good chefs and the service was also very nice and funny. Did you have a nice evening,

We are staying at Eldorado camping and saw the restaurant on the way to the camping. They already received good reviews, so I immediately placed an order. When I picked up I was warmly welcomed and saw the chef preparing our meal in their open kitchen. We ordered a mixed starter and main course platter. I think we have a whole meal left over for tomorrow... Thank you for the delicious abundance and the friendly service! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back! (They also deliver to Belgium 'in exceptional situations', they said, but I hold them to that! 😀)

Nice owner, good food with delicious taste Think an underrated restaurant. Not really typical Greek inside, we sat on the terrace outside.

Nice little restaurant, with good food and nice staff! I can only recommend Greek salad and gyros.

Nice meal. Was busy at Easter, but were still able to find a table.

Just had a fantastic meal at the Greek XL! It was stone cold outside, but inside it is like being back on Kos with the lovely host and his staff. It was also wonderfully warm and cozy. We will definitely eat here again!

Ordered food to take away via the site, but it is not read. I already suspected, so I called. Was ready on time. Friendly people asked if I wanted an ouzo for the road. Food is fine for a reasonable price.

We received a very hospitable welcome and DELICIOUS food! Also plenty of choice for vegetarians. Highly recommended, more intimate than the larger Greek restaurants in the region.

Delicious food, everything fresh. Good atmosphere. Enjoyed it immensely!

Wow, what delicious but also cozy food you can have here! The owner is a pleasant man who seeks contact with everyone. We will come here again soon!

Very good cuisine. The gyros and sea bream are great! The owner cooks with true passion for taste and quality. Recommended!

Went here for the first time tonight and it was really great, we will definitely go here more often, good food and friendly people, see you next time

Delicious food, nice hosts, it was super fun... and especially that Mr. started playing the guitar and singing. It was real Greek cuisine 😂😂😂😂 kumkat bottle to pieces

No modern nonsense with QR codes, but real old-fashioned conviviality in an intimate setting, with personal contact. The employees really make it a party and it immediately feels like coming home. Such a good atmosphere, as if you were really in Greece. We also ate a delicious vegetarian dish and sea bream, with all kinds of goodies beforehand. The prices are fine and even quite cheap compared to other restaurants. Nice parking in front of the door. Highly recommended!

Geen modern geneuzel met QR codes, maar echt nog ouderwetse gezelligheid in een intieme setting, met persoonlijk contact. De medewerkers maken er echt een feestje van en het voelt meteen als thuiskomen. Zo’n goede sfeer, alsof je echt even in Griekenland bent.

Food was good and the staff was very friendly.

Great food, even the dog enjoyed the Gyros! A delicious wine was proposed and very friendly staff and owner! We will definitely come back❤️

Super gezellig gegeten met vlotte bediening. Uiteraard gyros besteld maar sommigen bestelden schotels . Wat over en weer proeven, zelfde als met de pekilia vooraf Zeker een restaurant om terug te komen

Delicious food in the form of tappas, friendly staff, we will definitely come back

The wait staff are nice, but that is the most positive thing about the evening. Waited 45 minutes for soup, and 40 minutes later the main dish was still frozen on the inside. Untidy impression, the handle of the only toilet comes out of the door,... just a shame about the evening.

Sitting in the backyard, delicious food and super hospitable service. There's nothing more to say about it really. It is simply wonderful to enjoy it. The staff has nice chats with the guests and a nice owner. Super!!
