We had an ice cream here last week. The ice cream is tasty and the price is fine. There is a wide selection of ice cream and the location at the Brandaris is beautiful. I am only giving three stars because the ladies behind the counter were not very customer-friendly and were quite abrupt. Something I would have expected.

The dark chocolate is highly recommended. Delicious ice cream. Nice waitress. I'll be back next time!

Wow, what a fantastic ice cream parlor! As soon as you step inside, it feels like you're walking into a candy paradise. The cheerful pink decor immediately brings a smile and creates a cozy atmosphere. But what truly makes this place special is the owner. What an incredibly sweet and warm woman! You can tell from everything that she not only runs her business with passion but also has a huge heart for both people and animals. A few years ago, we saw how, even though the shop was packed, she still took the time to feed a hungry seagull. That says so much about her dedication and kindness. Her service is amazing too. My husband picked up ice creams to take back to our holiday home. Our son really wanted an ice cream in a cone, and although the ice cream was actually supposed to be taken in a cup, he was given an extra cone without hesitation. Such a small gesture made his day completely! Delicious ice cream, a beautiful shop, and an owner with a heart of gold. We return here with great pleasure every time. Highly recommended!

I had a disappointing experience at De Ijszee during Oerol week. A minuscule scoop of ice cream was placed on a cone using a rather small ice cream spoon. Is this generally the practice?

A really nice place with a great atmosphere. The ice cream vendor is a very cool woman you can have a nice chat with. Even if you eat plant-based or are lactose intolerant, she has plenty of options for you, including ‘dark chocolate’ 😋 Highly recommended for getting an ice cream on Terschelling!

Today I got a delicious scoop of ice cream at De Ijszee; there were so many tasty flavors that I got stressed out choosing. Luckily, the friendly staff helped me decide. I ended up with the Sea Buckthorn. One word: amazing. A taste sensation that stimulates the brain. All in all, a great ice cream parlor!

It is a cozy spot to get ice cream. They have very tasty flavors there, and if I'm not mistaken, there are 30 flavors. Lovely for summer, on vacation, or just to hang out. Perfect and nice and pink.

I regularly come here for ice cream, and since the very first day the portion size has always been fair for the price. The lady is always friendly towards me, and I also have to compliment her on her tattoos they look really cool

IJszee has delicious artisanal ice cream, and you can taste it. Nothing but praise for the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to the person at the other end of the counter. I enjoyed eight different flavors in one weekend. Unfortunately, the weekend was over by then. Good luck, girls! 👍

The ice cream was delicious, but the €2 price for a mini scoop was a bit disappointing. Seeing that other people have commented on this in their reviews suggests this might be the ice cream parlor's business model. Too bad, we'll be looking elsewhere for our next ice cream.

Very unfriendly and ridiculously small amount of ice cream. I went to De Ijszee and was truly disappointed. The staff was downright rude—absolutely no friendliness or customer focus. For €2, I got a ridiculously small scoop of ice cream. This is simply unacceptable. There are plenty of other places on Terschelling where you'll be treated better and get more for your money.

Not going back. I got an ice cream at De IJszee today, and I won't be doing that again. For €2, I got a portion that barely even half a scoop. Truly disappointing. What bothered me most was the staff's attitude. A young girl politely asked if she could try a flavor—she was immediately met with a curt "no." When she then asked what flavors were available, the employee responded with, "Read it yourself." Rude and completely unnecessary. Especially on an island where hospitality is paramount, you expect something completely different. I won't be returning.

Indeed, the most unfriendly ice cream vendor I've ever met. I've had the same experience several times. There's also an ice cream parlor further down the road with friendly staff. If you hate tourists, go somewhere else. Luckily, the tourists' money is tasty. Never again. The owner's reaction was as expected. A normal person would do something with a critical review, but this nice woman is above the crowd. I've had the same negative experience here for several years. Customer service isn't a priority, and not being allowed to try it has nothing to do with it; it's the tone. Good luck.

Delicious ice cream, but a long line

de IJszee is a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet tooth. The quirky decor, with its vibrant colors and playful atmosphere, immediately sets it apart. What really stands out, though, is the impressive variety of ice cream flavors.

I have never visited an ice cream shop with so many lactose-free flavors! The lactose-free ice cream is also tasty and full of flavor. Definitely not watery. Definitely recommended!

The most unsympathetic ice cream parlor I've ever been to. The one lady behind the counter immediately started shouting at my youngest son of 3 not to stand on the chair, while he just wanted to sit on it and pushed the chair back for a moment. So she was prejudiced in advance that he would do something. 🥴 The other older lady started telling my other 2 sons that they were not allowed to sit at the display case. And she muttered to her colleague 'I would be happy when the season is over, what annoying b*tch children'. To which I said; 'you run an ice cream shop'! Completely stunned by this scene, this is definitely the last time we will be here. I also suddenly remembered that it was similar last year, so this was absolutely no incident. It's bizarre to have an ice cream parlor owner who hates children... then start a book shop or something... I would say don't come there! A little further down the street is a much nicer ice cream parlor with delicious ice cream.

I have no idea why so many people give it a 1 star or 2 star... ice cream is perfectly tasty, not overpowering and not too small, so it really tastes perfect. If you are bothered by tattoos, you are probably from the year 1368 or you have lain under a dolmen... then you would disapprove of someone, and because you disapprove of someone the ice cream automatically doesn't taste good either? Nonsense! Tattoos in the catering industry are absolutely possible, it is how you as a customer deal with it. €2 per bulb is fine. If you think that's expensive on your holiday, why are you going on holiday at all? This ice cream parlor is good, tasty and the owner is just herself. Very good! :)

We have been coming to this ice cream parlor for years and it is part of our holidays on Terschelling. The owner is very friendly and is always open for a nice chat. The ice cream is of good quality and tastes delicious!

I immediately walked outside again, the woman behind the counter first asks my son very sternly whether he wants to stay away from the glass plate where the ice cream is behind it.

I was there 1.5 years ago, I loved the ice cream! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I didn't notice any of the negativity, and a tattoo is completely established and has nothing to do with hygiene... as the owner says, the ink has long since dried, What I read here is resentment and posting 1 star reviews from behind your desk... if it's not tasty or way too expensive, go there, send an email or have a conversation... instead of giving 1 star on Google... and no, I have no shares and absolutely do not know the owner.

Nice, but the price is the reason we only went there once during a two-week holiday. Personal attacks based on the appearance or personality of the owner are ridiculous. The lady just serves you ice cream and is normally friendly. What else do people expect?

Gelukkig hoefde ik mijn faillissement niet aan te vragen na het bezoek van de ijswinkel alhoewel 2 euro voor een 1 bolletje ijs toch stevig is. Natuurlijk heel begrijpelijk dat alles door inflatie duur geworden is, maarja voor de kleine man aan het eind van de voedselketen met een bescheiden baan, die dan ook nog met zijn hele gezin een ijsje komt eten met 2 bolletjes op de hoorn kan dat toch best aardig oplopen. Natuurlijk staan de prijzen vermeld, maar nadat de wensen zijn vervuld heb je toch een lege portemonnee en geen tevreden gevoel wat toch heel belangrijk is. Overige recensies spreken over de dame met de vele tattoos en een onhygiënische uitstraling, fijn dat zij de opmerkingen van harte heeft genomen en niet zelf het ijs stond in te scheppen. Om een advies te geven zou ik dat zo houden. Het personeel is beter geschikt om klanten te bedienen dan de eigenaresse zelf. Nu is het al vervelend genoeg om als eigenaar kritiek te krijgen dus graag zou ik willen afsluiten met een 2e advies. Het is een verzorgde winkel, maar als de eigenaresse de prijzen zou aanpassen naar bijv. 1 bol = 1.90 p/st 2 bollen € 1,75 p.st, 3 bollen € 4.50, gaat die tent beter lopen en gaat de consument ook voor een 2e keer een ijsje halen. Dit advies is niet geheel kosteloos, mocht het advies ten harte worden genomen verwacht van de eigenaresse een gratis ijsje met 2 bollen. P.S ik kom dan wel met de hele familie.

Best ok ijs aan een schappelijke prijs. Lactosevrije en glutenvrije opties beschikbaar. En Gijs, de huismeeuw, heeft zich keurig gedragen!

Freundliches Personal. Große Auswahl an Eis und Sorbet! Alles sehr lecker! Hammer gut das dunkle Schoko-Sorbet. Gut für alle die kein Laktose oder Milcheiweiß vertragen. Sitzmöglichkeit auch vor dem Lokal mit Blick auf den Leuchtturm.

Lekker ijs! De salon oogt vrolijk en fris en de prijs is prima. Aan de wal ken ik ijssalons die duurder zijn.

Keuze was beperkt en het ijs was niet heel erg lekker.

Vandaag met ons gezin met 4 personen ijsje gegeten, 2 bolletjes p.p.kosten: 16 euro!!!! Écht duur, hierbij geholpen door een vrouw, die er niet verzorgd uit zag, loshangende, vies uitziende lange haren voor haar gezicht, niet erg hygiënisch, dit boven de ijsvitrine! Hierbij zichtbare tatoeages van een doodskop op haar arm, dit kan écht niet in de horeca.

Het ijs smaakte goed. Maar de gene die ons bediende stond buiten te roken en zónder handen wassen bediende ze weer mensen. En de vrolijkheid was ook ver te zoeken. Beetje ranzig

Heerlijk ijs in een prachtige roze ijssalon, waar zelfs de stekkerdozen en de waterkoker roze zijn :-) Helemaal bijzonder vond ik dat we op onze laatste vakantiedag met de Wielewaal-groep allemaal een gratis ijsje kregen, echt super lief!

Heerlijk ambachtelijke ijs. Je wordt er heel leuk geholpen. Het zaakje is een lust voor het oog. Alles roze en overal waar je kijk zie je weer wat.

Heerlijk ijs, ook leuk dat er een meeuw elke dag een hoorntje kwam halen. Voor de rest: goede bediening en ook verrassend lekkere donuts!!

Weet niet waar die man last van heeft met z’n mega lange review en tig updates over een ijszaak (kleine gok, heeft waarschijnlijk niets beters te doen). Maar, prima ijs hier hoor & de eigenaresse en personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Niet zo janken, Bert - ga een hobby zoeken.

Lekker ambachtelijk roomijs salon aan de voet van de Brandaris op het centrale plein van west Terschelling. Aanrader als je het centrum van west Terschelling bezoekt.

Wat een top-tent. Tijdens Oerol zo ontzettend blij met alles, ongelofelijk. Hun eiland is helemaal over-run en overvol en toch blijven ze oneindig positief en blij met een vrolijke noot en een muziekje op zijn tijd. We zijn er iedere dag geweest. Eén keer mochten de jongste een gratis ijsje als hij een liedje zong. Toch geweldig! <3

Lekkere ijsjes met uitzicht op de Brandaris. Een ruime keus en ondanks de A-locatie betaal je niet de hoofdprijs. Alles is hier roze, eenhoorns en glitters: kleurrijke boel!

De ijssalon is knalroze en geeft zelfs de meest chagrijnige volwassene zin in een ijsje! Echter is het ijs op melkpoederbasis en zitten er verdomd veel smaakstoffen in, ten minste zo proeft het. Personeel is wel erg aardig, lekkere tattoo op die armpjes. Ben je naam alweer vergeten maar zou je zo een pilsje geven. Groetjes en tot de volgende, al betwijfel ik of ik ooit nog op Terschelling kom.

De porties zijn een beetje klein (er is één jongen/man die zulke kleine porties geeft dat als je twee bolletjes koopt je nogsteeds niet meer heb dan iemand die één bolletje van een andere personeel lid koopt hebt).

Niet super veel keus in smaken ijs. Het ijs is niet slecht maar ook niet top. Toen wij er waren (meivakantie) was er een lange wachtrij. Bediening was niet snel & ze was in haar eentje. Lang wachten dus. In en uit de ijszaak is opletten. Bij grote drukte weinig beweegruimte. Inrichting zaak niet optimaal. Per saldo dus 3 sterren.

Helpfull staff with nice ice cream choices. Nice seating inside and outside under the Brandaris. The ice cream carrousel was a nice little gimmick, I had never seen that before.
