Delicious meal, just a shame about the price! Very expensive, never had to pay so much for a meal, vegetables and an extra chicken leg. €30,- 1 person meal

As usual, I couldn't make a choice because everything looked so delicious, but fortunately we were helped well by the friendly employee. The food was truly fantastic. Everything was so delicious. Too bad they're not in my city!

We ordered a rice table for 10 people. We knew this was a pricey store, but when we had to pay around 400 euros we thought this was crazy. After paying, we took a quick look at the prices on the site at home and it turned out that we had paid way too much. When we called about this, the owner could not change anything because the food was weighed and the price was paid in that way, we did not ask for this. We have been going there for years, but after this promotion they have lost a regular customer. The food was tasty, but you are a thief of your own wallet if you order here!

We ordered a rice table for 10 people and had to pay EUR 40 per person instead of EUR 29.95 as stated on the website. We complained about this but the owner did not meet us! They have lost us as regular customers because you absolutely cannot do this!

Rijsttafel besteld en zelf opgehaald en opgewarmd maar veel meer moeten afrekenen (39,95 p.p. ipv 29,95) dan op de website staat vermeld. Gebeld en niet opgelost, verhaal over afwegen van bakjes. Ze hebben een regelmatige klant verloren, niet netjes en dus zeker geen aanrader!!

A few years ago, while on vacation in the Netherlands, I stumbled upon this place and enjoyed a whole bunch of small dishes (because I couldn't choose from all the delicious food, I just chose a small portion). We had a wonderful time. The flavors were so delicious, and we also really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Recently, during a visit to The Hague, we returned and took home some delicious dishes. It was well worth the hour-long drive; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Picked it up for the first time yesterday at De Javaan. I chose a bowl of yellow rice, a bowl of shrimp, water spinach, two chicken legs, two eggs and a bowl of chicken liver. The quantity was just enough for two people, but the total price of 61 euros makes this the most expensive store I have ever picked up from. Fortunately, the quality of the food is good: fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Yet the price-quantity ratio comes as a surprise; the portions feel quite modest in relation to what you pay. The dishes are also quite spicy, so be warned if you do not tolerate spicy food. A tip: the pleasure of the spiciness can still be felt the next day!

We didn't just have an incredible meal, we had an incredible experience, from start to finish. The food was picked for us and it was utterly delicious. We laughed from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We felt like we had joined a community - everyone eating, talking and having fun. Completely delicious food for the soul. I will never forget it! We will be back next time we come to NL, for sure!

Bij toeval kwamen we er langs. Tijdens een cabrio rit vanuit Breda. De plek was super gezellig. Iedereen komt daar aanwaaien. Het eten maakte prima en de service goed en gemoedelijk. Helaas hadden we alle 4 die avond en de volgende morgen last van onze darmen. Daarnaast zijn de gerechten redelijk aan de prijs. Met 4 waren we een dikke € 155,- kwijt. Afijn. Zijn we in de buurt, dan zullen we 't zeker nog een keer proberen.

Zeer lekker gegeten bij de Javaan, authentieke smaak. En bovenal zeer vriendelijk personeel. We komen zeker terug met ons gezin

Very friendly staff. Ordered chicken cashew and shrimp. Chicken cashew turned out not to be in my meal when I unpacked it at home. Spicy is very spicy, so next time I won't take spicy anymore.

Best Indonesian in The Netherlands!

Excellent little Indonesian restaurant. I wanted to experience what is called the rice table while on my trip to the Netherlands. I heard about this little restaurant and decided to give it a try. Those dining at the same time of us were all locals. Walk inside to the counter and choose what items you would like to try. I ordered a rice plate (you choose from a few different types of rice), can choose 2 vegetables and 2 meats, this plate option also came with a chicken meat stick with peanut sauce and a hard boiled egg with a spicy sauce. The plate cost 16.50 (I chose white rice, the other rice options cost a little more. There are smaller rice table options but I wanted to try as much as possible, and am glad I did! Everything was flavorful. I would absolutely eat here again. Their menu on line can be accessed in English.

Yesterday, after a long time, I went to the Javaan again... Asking 16.00 euros for a very small meal dish. Get 3 small scoops of nasi and hahah 2 pieces of rendang... And wife took Bami with Chicken Cashew... Bami had a little more in it but there were only 4 pieces of chicken in it... Flavors are really great... But price / quantity no really... Then just go back to Toko Asli... Sorry Guillermo but your staff and meals are becoming more sparse 😭😭

Eine tolle Erfahrung. Bin mit meiner Tochter hier gewesen nach dem Besuch des Kunstmuseums. Sehr leckeres Essen und super freundliche Mitarbeiter. Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in Den Haag sind.

First time for me to enter in this tiny warm and friendly Indonesian restaurant ! You have to visit it, talk and taste the food. Amazing variety and taste. I am really thankful for this kind moment. I understand now why it’s so popular and you have to wait in the queue… No secret 🤷🏻‍♂️😜

Ik vondt het altijd super heerlijk eten en goede service maar helaas betaal je erg veel geld voor wat je krijg .toen ik om de kassabon vroeg kreeg ik nog snel 50 cent terug en buiten zat niet al mijn eten erbij voor mijn nooit meer

This place is a gem. We were looking for good Indonesian food in a city we don’t know well and were lucky to stumble upon it. Great, charming atmosphere, lovely staff, and absolutely delcious food.

Joy on a plate ✨️ Hands down the best Indonesian food in NL in my view with plenty of delicious vegetarian options. Seating is only outdoors, which is the only drawback. Staff are warm, kind and attentive.

Een pijpela met het beste Javaanse eten in de wijde omgeving. Er is mogelijkheid om buiten te eten.

Lekker Indisch eten. Mini zaakje waar voor de toonbank net 2 mensen kunnen staan. Buiten bankjes om te wachten of ter plaatse te eten. Geduld heb je nodig ,wanneer iets op is gaan ze het vers maken. Volgens eigen zeggen de beste kip cashew. Volgens mij is de lekkerste nog steeds bij Toko Eddo te koop. Mooie locatie aan het begin van de Fred. Prijzen zijn dus ook in die range. Aardig personeel.

Heerlijk Indonesisch eten. Heb heel wat Indonesisch restaurants in Nederland (en in Indonesië!) geproefd, maar deze is echt een topper.

Super origineel Indisch. (Geen Chinese zooi) Lekker pittig. Bakkevol smaak die je maar zelden tegenkomt. Wel even buiten op je eten wachten, maar dat heb ik er graag voor over.

Dit is mijn favoriete toko! Al bij aankomst kan je de heerlijkste gerechten voorproeven om daarna je menu samen te stellen. Personeel is vriendelijk en gastvrij. Zeker een aanrader!

Door Pieter Goreng ben ik in contact gekomen met Kip Cashew. Het heeft mij en mijn vrienden zo hard geklaard, dat ik sindsdien liever ieder weekend naar de Javaan ga dan naar mijn vriendin!

J'ai toujours reçu un superbe accueuil, on nous fait goûter et nous conseille! La nourriture est très bonne, je recommande vivement. Je trouve ça personellement un peu cher mais ce sont les prix en vigueur partout ailleurs ici.

Héérlijk eten. Elke keer weer een traktatie en wat een vriendelijk personeel. Trots en enthousiast zijn ze over hun eten en TERECHT.

Vandaag voor het eerst hier afgehaald, piepklein zaakje kunnen max 4p binnen staan maar het eten was lekker moet ik zeggen, leuk dat ze ook stukjes laten proeven zodat je een goed idee krijgt wat je wilt, pittig is ook idd echt pittig en een mooie ruime keuze aan verse, niet alledaagse producten.

Pfff alles is hier lekker, maar ik zeg je één ding. Van de verse ayam bakar hier krijg ik het gevoel alsof ik terug in Indonesië ben, ‘s avonds laat tussen alle saté kraampjes langs de straten. De geur, de diepe smaak. De Javaan is ook echt DE Javaan, want er is echt geen beter en lekkerder Javaans eten in DH. Daarnaast werken hier de liefste mensen ooit, je bent altijd welkom. Kortom, the best!

Really good food, great variety, wonderful kind service!

🤩 really tasty 🤤 we picked up the Gado Gado and Rijstafel special after the World Cup game to eat it in our hotel. This was wonderful. Spicy really means spicy and flavors were great. Just here for couple days, but I will try to go to Da Javaan once again before leaving 🤞🏾

We hebben eten afgehaald. Ze hadden verrassende gerechten die stuk voor stuk erg lekker waren. Ik ga er zeker nog een keer heen.

I went there with a couple of friends, I'm Indonesian and the other are europeans. We are utterly dumbfounded with the food, it was really good! For the amount and quality, the price is reasonable. They also have some places to sit outside for dine-in.
