We had a wonderful meal at De Keizer. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious! A big plus for us was the bouncy castle outside for the children, so they could have some fun in between courses! We will definitely be back!

We ate here twice: the first time with 5 people and the second time with 9 people. The first experience was top-notch; everything was well organized and the salmon and spareribs tasted very good (5 stars). Unfortunately, the subsequent visit left quite a lot to be desired (3 stars). We ordered an 'All Meat Josper platter' for 3 people. The spareribs were dry and tough, the bavette was tasteless and tough, and the brisket simply didn't feel right. This was absolutely not a brisket, although it was claimed to be. The desserts were also presented completely differently on the different days; there seems to be no clear line or uniformity in the kitchen. It depends heavily on who is behind the stove. Mistakes were made regarding the quantities of the drinks, and the beers were not poured full enough. Additionally, service sometimes took a very long time. In short: choose the safe options here, such as the satay and salmon, because unfortunately, this is not the place to be for meat specialties.

We ate here during our holiday at Ter Spegelt. The food was relatively expensive, and certainly not special. We ordered various dishes including tenderloin, salmon, tuna, spare ribs, the "gnome menu," and mixed grill. The menu states that all dishes are served with vegetables and fries. For 6 people, we got 2 portions of fries. And as for vegetables, 1 small head of cauliflower, 1 carrot cut in half, 1 asparagus, and a potato rösti. We are all big eaters and had expected a bit more. Price-wise, a mixed grill of 32 euros consisted of 3 small pieces of meat with barely any flavor. The braised beef had so much coarse salt on it that the taste was overpowering. Meanwhile, the spare ribs cost 24 euros and barely fit on your plate. The gnome menu, fish and chips and an ice cream for 10 euros, is way out of proportion. All in all, the atmosphere was good, but the food was a big disappointment. (The four children were still hungry after dinner.) And as an added bonus, we were sitting inside, but every now and then there was a strong sewage smell. (All the doors were open due to the heat.) All in all, for nearly 200 euros, I had expected a bit more. The service and staff were very friendly.

Too bad. We wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday, but it took a very long time before someone came to our table to take our order. No one asked how the food was after lunch. The food was good, but there was clearly a shortage of staff. We actually wanted to chat a bit longer over a drink, but decided against it. Too bad, we had expected more.

The service was abysmal; we had to wait forever, even the children's meals took well over an hour. When we asked about it, they just kept saying, "We'll see." The food was generally good, but the steak was dry and tough! Absolutely not recommended for the price! Very disappointing.

I have enjoyed myself here very often. But now that they have ordered via QR code, I am very disappointed; it is a struggle to get someone to your table. Unfortunately, the food had been in the oven too long, and just try explaining that via QR.

We ate here last Wednesday evening for the magicians' night. However, a lot went wrong; the hamburger from the kids' menu was completely red inside. The dessert arrived while we were still eating, so we sent it back. However, it never arrived later on. Furthermore, there were problems in the restroom and a waiter was missing for the last hour. In the end, we had to walk to the counter ourselves to settle the bill.

What a terrible dinner experience. When we arrived, the entire restaurant was already filled with smoke – the downside of an open-kitchen concept. If you're going to use that kind of concept, you need the right staff in the kitchen. We were a party of six adults and two children, and a salad we ordered was prepared incorrectly and then mistakenly brought out long before the other main courses. We couldn't complain until very late because the server never came to us. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, and by which time everyone had already finished their first drinks, a vegetarian burger was served to the wrong person. The vegetarian burger wasn't particularly tasty, and the portions were very small for the price. We had to ask about two dishes to get the fries. Unfortunately, the server didn't know what was currently unavailable on the menu and had to disappoint us three times by telling us that we were out of drinks and food we had already ordered. We even had to wait a long time for dessert while the guys in the kitchen seemed to be just chilling. We ended up paying at the front door because, once again, no one came to take our payment. I worked in the restaurant industry myself for a long time and am usually very understanding. But here there was no apology, no effort to provide decent service, and no concessions regarding prices or complimentary drinks/food. That's why I'm writing this terrible review. An absolute disaster and definitely not what you'd expect for the prices :(

A really tasty burger and an amazing tomato soup.

The food was good, but waiting 50 minutes for lunch is really much too long. If you know this, you should make it known in advance.

Ordered Thom Kha Kai soup and 2 ham and cheese toasties. There was NOT a single piece of chicken in the soup, and there was no ham on the toasties. The bread with the soup was hard, and the dip that came with it had clearly already been used by other people. We reported all of this to the waitress but said that we were going to eat it anyway (except for the bread and the dip, of course), because throwing it away would be a waste. She said she would pass it on, but there was no further reaction from a manager/cook or anything like that. Very disappointing. The location is very nice, though.

We dined with 3 adults and 4 children. Friendly welcome and a nice spot outside on the terrace. Unfortunately, a lot went wrong this evening. We had a tasty charcuterie board and that was fine. The children's spaghetti was still hard and we sent it back. 5 minutes later you get the same pasta (from the microwave, that is). We just had to let the children eat fries to pass the time and eventually just let them eat. The vegetables with the salmon were undercooked as well. The service was okay regarding the situation, but then they charged for extra fries as well. So, 3 people who are aware of the problem do nothing about it. All in all, a concept that could work; the Josper smells wonderful, but it is executed below par. It really lacks a good manager who oversees things, both in the kitchen and in the service.

Quiet location, nice place, tasty beer (Gloeiend), delicious bitterballen and great company.

I give this restaurant four stars. We ordered our drinks first and were really looking forward to enjoying them. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing that the drinks hadn't been served yet when we were able to order our food. The wait for the food was also quite long, which only made us hungrier. However, the wait was definitely worth it: The food was delicious and incredibly flavorful. A particular highlight was the magic show – it was extremely entertaining and had us laughing throughout. Overall, a lovely visit with a few minor service issues, but great food and fantastic entertainment.

Been there several times before. Disappointed yesterday. Ordered Plateau de Keizer. Instead of Pulles, there was just Cajun chicken on it; apparently, pulled is sold out, but this wasn't mentioned beforehand. There was no coleslaw with it either. Turns out that was sold out too. That wasn't mentioned either. There weren't even any vegetables at all. Ordered a sourdough roll, never received it. Ordered 2 drinks which weren't brought. Even though there were only 3 tables and 6 staff members. A really huge letdown.

Popped in here this afternoon after a refreshing walk. Very friendly staff. I ordered an Aperol spritz, and they asked if I could be the tester for the cinnamon spritz. Well, I'm always up for trying new things. I have to say, it was amazing. Definitely put it on the menu 😁😁. We also had a bite to eat there, and that was delicious too. Thank you.

We had dinner here last Friday and it was fantastic. Excellent service, cozy and atmospheric restaurant, and delicious food. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

Nice atmosphere, but the staff is very slow to check if anyone wants to order. I saw this happen at several tables. It's also a shame that if you want to order a children's grilled cheese, it's not available, but a regular grilled cheese is, even though a regular grilled cheese isn't on the menu. It was also more expensive than the children's grilled cheese. We did go back a second time, wanting to give it another try. The team was different and the service was excellent. We were there for dinner that time, and the food was delicious. It just goes to show how staff can make or break a restaurant.

We went for the Spooky Dinner. It was super fun! All the staff were dressed up, the restaurant was nicely decorated, and there was someone walking around doing face painting for the children. When ordering a pitcher of lemonade, we 'forgot' to specify that it should be red (this is pretty standard everywhere in the Netherlands), but exchanging it was no problem at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful! It was a bit strange, though, that we were only served fries after our starter. After waiting patiently for over half an hour, and of course, having eaten the fries in the meantime, we finally asked where our dishes were. While the starter met our expectations, we were very disappointed with the main course. For example, the vegetables with the cheese fondue were completely cold and therefore not very flavorful. And the spare ribs had been grilled a bit too hard, so they were black on one side and the burnt flavor was overwhelming. Such a shame! Because I thought the meat itself was good quality, but this time it was almost impossible to taste. There's definitely something to be gained here! When I mentioned this to the employee, the response I got was, "Oh, we always serve them like this." Okay, but that doesn't mean it's supposed to be that way and that it's healthy (carcinogenic). So, unfortunately, we left most of it. And the face paint... Well, that could have been better, in my opinion.

What a lovely place! A crackling fire, friendly staff, and delicious food. And nothing is too much trouble. I asked for an iced coffee that wasn't on the menu anymore. It was made for me effortlessly, and the bartender asked if I wanted Baileys in it, which made it absolutely perfect. We'd love to come back!

The food is fine, but the service is really bad. We waited a long time to order, then for the food itself, and then didn't get everything served. We had to ask repeatedly where the food or the last person's dish was, and/or had to tell them what was missing. If the service improved, it would really be a nice restaurant.

I really enjoyed my time with friends at De Keizer. The staff went above and beyond to cater for allergies and made great substitutions so we can still enjoy dinner. The food tasted great, fresh and overall high quality. The atmosphere and interior design is super cozy. We will certainly visit De Keizer again!

Never before had such an unfriendly welcome. We drove there from Belgium to get a drink. A very unfriendly young man stood at the entrance. He said we weren't allowed in because they were having a private party. It was almost 9 p.m. and there were maybe five people at a table. We were allowed to sit on the veranda. Well... The veranda is the smoking area, and outside in the cold. We went back... And asked if we couldn't just sit in a corner at the bar because the veranda is too cold and too much smoke. There was one man smoking heavily. The man said he couldn't do anything for us. My partner got angry and walked away, and I practically kept begging because we drove around for over an hour trying to find the place. There was absolutely no private party to be seen. So we'll never go there again. We could easily sit in the corner by the bar for a coffee.

The ambiance is very upscale and the location truly impressive. Unfortunately, there is significant room for improvement. We had reserved a table for lunch that evening. When we arrived, the restaurant was barely busy, yet there were no tables available either inside or outside. The tables outside were so wobbly that it was almost impossible to put anything down, so we moved inside. They had difficulty seating us, even though there had been very few customers all evening. The food was average. The children's menu was particularly disappointing. Our daughter had been really looking forward to a burger, but she got a tiny mini-burger, suitable only for very young children. The children's disappointment was clearly visible. The service also seemed inattentive. During the meal, no one asked if everything was okay. After the meal, the table was cleared away immediately, without giving us the opportunity to order dessert or more drinks. The children were only asked about their ice cream flavor, which was part of the menu. Considering the relatively high prices, the overall package doesn't quite match the expectations. The location has a lot of potential, but the service, organization, and quality of the food fall short of expectations.

We went here for high tea with the baby shower package. You pay extra for decorations and games, but this is very minimal. You don't need to go for a gluten-free high tea. The high tea consisted of one sandwich, a salad (only lettuce, tomato, cucumber), and a bowl of red fruit. The staff was also uninformed, and the serving process wasn't logical.

I had a wonderful High Tea here with my friends for my baby shower. It was pleasantly busy on Friday afternoon! The food was delicious and varied, and they even catered to dietary requirements beforehand, so even as a pregnant woman, I could have everything. Definitely going back!

Only the magician was great, but they kept saying, "Take your time." We registered at 9:15 PM for the 6:00 PM drop-off. We ordered the menu well in advance, and the waiter kept saying, "Take your time." The first course took forever, but then the main course, two spare ribs, were as dry as hay. They must have been sitting there for hours. We immediately asked for ice cream because we had to leave. When someone went to the toilet, it was apparently blocked. "Come on, hang up a note," he said. "Unfortunately, the toilet was inaccessible, so dirty...you wouldn't be hungry anymore!" We also had lunch at Wijde Blick. Highly recommended, the king, a shame, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Ter Spegelt: Everything is great, but I advise against going to De Keizer. So many complaints about dirty toilets, do something about it...that's one of the main points. Address the complaints!

I went to De Keizer and was super pleased! The food is quite diverse, with options for all tastes—perfect for family Or groups of friends.The service was impeccable, and the entire staff was very Professionals, friendly, attentive. I will definitely come back.

You have to be 24 to get in I cycled for over an hour and was sent home because I had to be 24

Not to come back. Staff barely looks at you. More than "what can it be" and "enjoy your meal" does not come out. (There were 5 tables occupied for 3 staff members) Toilets were extremely filthy, and not that there had just been 1 dirty person before me. No, this was really from a long time. Then the food can be fine, but the whole experience counts. And that was bad.

Nice food but we sent some bread back because it was still frozen inside and then one of the employees behaved very unpleasantly and annoyingly

May 25th we had a high tea here (birthday of my wife), what a disappointment. The tea pot was put on the table and the boxes were placed next to it, a bit strange. Put your tea water on a hot plate so that your water stays warm. It is not a competition high tea but yes The soup was lukewarm, and dirty containers where it was in. Then the cake stand with bread came, a very quick explanation from the staff and she was gone. I can't say that I got value for money, the 26.50 pp is on the high side for the quality that you serve. The unmotivated staff is also not recommended. And of course you get a standard answer very annoying this is not our standard we will report this back, but for me not twice at this location.

We got a delicious homemade espresso martini from the Portuguese waiter. We are enjoying ourselves. Highly recommended!

Perfect restaurant for a family with small children, but where you as parents also want to dine in beautiful surroundings. Food and service were top notch, a lot of attention for the children (large bouncy ball outside, children's menus, coloring pages, etc.) but in terms of interior design there was also a cozy and beautiful atmosphere. We will definitely come back here soon! Ps don't forget to make a reservation, it is often full from the adjacent campsite

This is really highly recommended!!! We had dinner here when we were staying overnight at the Ter Spegelt campsite, this restaurant is great. There is a bouncy castle for the children and the parents can also have a great time here! The food is super tasty! We spent approximately 20 to 30 pp for a main course and dessert. The staff is also really super friendly to everyone. The atmosphere is also great! So if anyone is looking for a restaurant to eat at, I would really recommend this!

We regularly go to the Keizer in Eersel, very nice atmosphere, the food is super tasty & the service is excellent. The service is also always busy with our kids, which of course makes it extra nice for us!

The drinks board is very unattractive. What's on it is all out of the package, nothing fresh. Everything from the frozen or pre-cut and composition does not look appetizing. Cheese poor quality. Price quality of the case is very below par. Staff friendly but not enough.

Drinks and snacks were delicious. Service was top, smooth and friendly.

It is a beautiful location and very spacious. You can sit by the fireplace after a walk. The food itself is unfortunately very bad. The Rendang sandwich is served (ice) cold and the salad certainly does not look fresh. The service also takes some time. All in all a less pleasant experience, but that could of course also be a coincidence. Maybe better next time!

We had the 3-course menu and my grandchildren the gnome menu. They were just right portions, not too much and certainly not too little. The Josper Duo was really tasty. The service was very friendly and helpful, they were also so nice with the children. Very nice atmosphere for a nice meal with the family. We will definitely come back!

Nice waiters. Pig in the Tom Kha Kai, then you don't know your trade, it's Thai chicken soup! I am also allergic to pork. Meat not asked how I wanted it. I got my neighbor medium well done. Tuna steak was still cold inside and dry, I think it had been frozen and not the color tuna should be. I left most of it because the pig Kha Kai bothered me. Full plates picked up without asking if there was anything wrong with the food.

We went there twice within three days. Our first visit was perfect. Service was great and the food was very good. There were like 20% customers at this time. The second day we went the was not so good because it seems like there’s a lack of personnel, leading to long waiting times to even get the menu. The second time we ordered the tiramisu, it was like the half of the portion we received at the first time.

We went here for dinner tonight. When we arrived around 6 p.m. it was already a messy start, even though it was quiet. Start at the table was okay. I ordered my wine later, but it took quite a while (a colleague forgot to let me know). Food came to the table quickly, a platter for 2 people. It was very tasty, but the pulled pork was very strong. After the food was served, we didn't see anyone at the table anymore. Always had to signal for a drink or something like that and was not asked if it tasted... bad. But at the tables around us..?! Then had a special coffee... it was more like a drink with coffee instead of coffee with a drink. Oh yes, and also monotonous music. We also had our little one with us, but there is nothing for children to do, it would be nice to have a coloring page or something like that. After this experience, no more for us...

Unfortunately no photos were taken, but it was a really nice terrace with nice staff who really took their time, there were 6 of us. Also nice to sit and enjoy a good meal.

What a great restaurant this is! The food was of good quality and there were many tasty and diverse dishes on the menu. Even though the first time wasn't quite what we had hoped for, they made up for it completely the 2nd time. Shout out to Julie who also dealt with our criticism very politely when we didn't like it and didn't argue but rather looked for a solution. Tom also guided us nicely the 2nd time. After a 5-star experience in May 2022, and a ditto experience in August 2022, for which we came here especially, I can only conclude that the level has deteriorated sharply. Went for dinner again on Sunday April 30 with a group of 6. Service was mediocre and had little experience and no appropriate answers to questions. Unfortunately, the main course for 4 people (Josper plank) was already served before the starter. The other 2 people then had to wait for their dish, so the four of us started eating because otherwise it would get cold. The starters have logically been cancelled. We were offered a round of drinks in compensation. The successful Josper plank has changed in composition, making it considerably less attractive and more surprising in taste. Pity. Based on our successful experience, we made a reservation again for Thursday, May 4, for a final dinner of our holiday. Unfortunately, we canceled it based on this experience.

Everything was fine, it is a bit dark. Food and service were fine.

We made a reservation on Thursday evening as a surprise for our parents. Upon arrival there was some confusion as it was suddenly "asparagus evening", we were not aware of this and therefore unfortunately could not order from the regular menu. We were received very kindly and sweetly by a nice, spontaneous young lady who afterwards gave us drinks on the house as an apology for the miscommunication. As a result, our experience was very positive and we would love to come back for another chance! All credit to her, her colleague was a lot less hospitable 😉. So if you are reading this, thank you very much for the warm welcome and the friendly solution!
