The four of us dined in this beautiful setting. Delicious dishes and super friendly service. The truffle risotto was a real surprise.

We enjoyed the Christmas menu tonight. What a treat! The wine pairing perfectly complemented the various delicious dishes. The restaurant's decor is fantastic, and the staff has a tremendous passion for their culinary craft, and it really shines through.

Fantastic atmosphere on Boxing Day. Unfortunately, several things went wrong. We were the first in the restaurant. People who arrived later received their dinner earlier. We arrived at 5:30 PM and had arranged for the taxi to arrive at 8:30 PM. We had a 7-course meal, but unfortunately, the pasta dish was lukewarm (we passed it on). Then they forgot the sorbet dish, and we waited a very long time for our main course. Our main course was taken away so we could still enjoy the sorbet. The food was delicious, but overall a disappointment. We couldn't finish our dessert because the taxi was waiting at 8:30 PM.

A very disappointing experience due to disrespectful service. What should have been a pleasant evening unfortunately ended in frustration due to the extremely poor service. From the moment we walked in, we were barely noticed. We had to ask for everything ourselves: the menu, drinks, order taking, and even the bill. Nothing went smoothly. The staff seemed disinterested and at times downright disrespectful. Answers were curt, eye contact was lacking, and questions were met with irritation. They should really take a page from the book at Happy Tosti, where hospitality, friendliness, and equal attention to everyone are a given. During the meal, there was also a complete lack of attention: empty glasses were left standing endlessly, orders were forgotten, and no apologies were forthcoming. Moreover, the cappuccino served was anything but a cappuccino—no foam, lukewarm, and tasteless. The pasta vongole was also a huge disappointment: it turned out to be just a simple pasta aglio, olio e peperoncino, with some cockles thrown on top at the end. That has little to do with a real vongole. At the end of the evening, it became even more painfully clear how unfairly we were treated: coats were dutifully collected for other guests, while we were left to look for our own. As if that wasn't enough, everyone received a small gift to take home—except us. In short: the food couldn't compensate for the bad experience. Service should be an essential part of a restaurant visit, and that was completely lacking here. We wouldn't go back again.

A good restaurant. It's festively decorated for Christmas, with a lovely ambiance and a more classic feel. Good acoustics too, and the food is prepared with great care and attention. One downside, in my opinion, is the foie gras on the menu. In terms of animal welfare, that's really outdated.

We enjoyed a delicious three-course à la carte dinner with a wonderful red wine from their own vineyard, complemented by a beautiful glass of Arsala wine with the cheese platter. Hats off!

Very cozy restaurant and delicious food

As the stars indicate, it was excellent. However, three male guests were quite noisy. It was fun, but the staff should have curbed their enthusiasm a bit. It took us a bit more effort (and we're not deaf) to make ourselves heard at a normal volume. Other than that, it was definitely worth repeating.

Always a pleasure to eat and drink here! The wines are excellent and the staff is top-notch.

The restaurant was quite busy, but we were given a quieter table, as I'd requested when I made my reservation. There were four of us and we each had three courses. Everything was excellent in terms of taste and presentation. My lobster bisque was particularly delicious. We'll definitely be back!

A delicious dinner in a lovely atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We dined here early on a Sunday evening and were very pleased with the entire experience. We chose fish: we started with tuna tartare, followed by a sea bass fillet and the catch of the day—in this case, a salmon fillet. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. For dessert, a chocolate trio (brownie, mousse, and ice cream) made a truly delicious ending. The atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful, with beautiful decor. The tables are a good distance apart, giving you plenty of privacy and allowing you to chat without overhearing others—something I personally appreciate. Of course, it gets a bit more lively when the restaurant is full, but that's part of the experience and doesn't detract from the cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and professional, and everything was served at a good pace. The wine was also delicious and perfectly matched to the dishes. The price-quality ratio is excellent. You pay a bit more, but you get genuine quality, tranquility, and attention in return. Definitely a restaurant to return to.

This is a restaurant where they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome! A gem in Deventer. A beautiful, atmospheric restaurant, delicious (Italian) dishes, and fine wines. The service is worth more than 5 stars.

We go to De Keizerskroon about once or twice a month for a delicious dinner. The food is always good, the wine list is excellent, and the staff certainly knows what they're serving, which is often different at other restaurants.

We don't come to Deventer much, but when we do, we never feel the need to look for a "new" restaurant. We always have a delicious meal at this classic Italian restaurant. You could wake me up at night for the Fois Gras, which they serve here in a classic, no-nonsense way. Delicious. It's often busy here, but that's a good sign. And it's also a really cozy restaurant. Sometimes we go to Deventer, but always to this Kroon.

Through tasters, we were seated at the front of the bar with a view of the TV screen and the dishes. A shame, because the restaurant is actually very beautiful and not too noisy. The risotto was delicious, but the accompanying wine was anything but perfect. …a missed opportunity. I won't be back, such a shame.

It's a real treat for us to dine here! An Italian (Sardinian) restaurant where the cuisine is top-notch. Many wines are sourced from their own vineyard in Sardinia. Last time, we had a 5-course surprise menu with a wine pairing. In good weather, there's a lovely, atmospheric terrace. The service is very friendly and helpful... they even asked us if the music was too loud or if we found the open door too cold. The wines and dishes were all explained in detail, and they took their time. It wasn't rushed. The owner (who works incredibly hard) even pointed out that our first and second courses were served a bit too quickly one after the other. Attention to detail is paramount! We'd love to come back! So we had a 5-course meal. A full wine pairing. A half-wine pairing. And we paid €200, including tip. You can eat cheaper there, but that's your choice. Highly recommended!

Between courts a bit too long waiting time

On July 25th, five of us had a wonderful meal on the terrace at De Keizerskroon, under the large plane trees. We had a surprise menu with a wine pairing. Not cheap, but it was worth the lovely evening. The friendly service really spoiled us. Delicious food and good wine. We had to catch the ferry before 11:00 PM, but we couldn't leave without a delicious Limonchello on the house :-D Thanks for the lovely evening!!

If the cutlery on the table had been the right size (I had two large cutlery sets), it would definitely have earned a five-star rating.

We deden een verkennings tocht door Deventer met de smaakverkenners. Dit was overigens top!!!! Zo deden we een bezoek aan de Keizerskroon. Had hoge verwachting, maar bediening was niet erg attent, eten ( risotto) vond ik beetje smaken naar rijstepap met truffel. Spaghetti aioli was goed. Wijn glazen echt weinig gevuld en moest 13.50 betalen voor 2 glaasjes. Had ik misschien moeten melden!

Had dinner at this Italian restaurant last night and I’m still enjoying it. The service was really exceptional – so friendly, attentive and professional, it almost felt unreal. Like sitting down with family, but with perfect timing and without being pushy. The food? Delicious. Fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly prepared. From the antipasti to the dessert, everything was just right. You can really taste that the food is cooked here with love and craftsmanship. The atmosphere was also great: warm, cosy and typically Italian, without it feeling forced. Ideal for a relaxing evening out. As far as I’m concerned, the best Italian restaurant in the region. I will definitely come back here again – highly recommended!

Ordered Gamberoni with lobster sauce. Delicious stewed vegetables, prawns in an excellent matching lobster sauce. The potatoes prepared in chicken stock, deglazed with butter…. Top dish. The dessert was also delicious in addition to the external appearance. In addition, a nice, smooth and neat service. The menu has Italian accents (the chef comes from Sardinia) and is clear and well-arranged with more than enough choice of dishes. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

The name Keizerskroon makes one fear that it is a village café, but it is a great Sardinian restaurant. Be sure to try the wine from our own Italian vineyard. Hats off to the service.

Please do NOT go here! This restaurant is an outright insult to Italian cuisine. The pasta is soggy, the pizzas are hard as a rock and the ingredients taste old and cheap. The service is a disaster – the waiters seem completely lost or act like you don’t exist. You have to wait at least an hour for your food, and when it finally comes, you wish it had never arrived. Hygiene? It is completely lacking! Sticky tables, stained cutlery and if you saw the kitchen, you would turn around immediately. Every cent you spend here is a complete waste. Want a nice evening? Stay FAR away!

Regularly eaten delicious somewhere, but here it exceeded everything. The food was fantastic! Really great! I had the three course game menu. My friend had 3 courses from the menu. We both thought it was the most delicious here of all the restaurants we had ever eaten at before. Simply fantastic. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, good service. The ambiance was also great, as if you were in a previous century. Definitely recommended. We will definitely go here more often.

Very beautiful building. The hostesses and hostesses do their utmost to take good care of you. We saw delicious dishes. The taste of which was also delicious. However, I did not think the price was commensurate with what you can get at other restaurants. The structure and composition of the dishes could really be a bit more challenging.

We were there at 7:00 PM and we had to ask at 8:45 PM if the food was still coming, which is a shame!

Received with a table in the conservatory, closed off from the rest of the restaurant. Only when we told us that we would rather come back another time, was there a table available in the cozy and attractive main room. The reception was otherwise enthusiastic. The starter was very mediocre, instead of sea-scented pasta with vongole it was a pasta with tomatoes and arugula, and the contents of the shells were dry and rubbery and everything was floating in a brownish, very salty broth, a kind of diluted maggi. A wine list was not presented and we were not even asked if we wanted something to drink with our meal. Wine from the own vineyard was well promoted, which was ultimately very tasty. The main course would come with "very tasty vegetables". These consisted of a pile haphazardly thrown onto the plate, including cold tomatoes and warm but rock-hard pieces of carrot. On top of that was the fish, which was very tasty. All in all very disappointing, 1 star for the ambiance and 1 star for the enthusiasm of the people at the table.

Inside there is a cozy Christmas atmosphere. We wanted to have lunch and at first we were only asked what we wanted to drink, after quite a long wait we got the dinner menu (so no lunch menu), calling the waiter again, then it took a long time again before our order was taken. Meanwhile, a little nauseous from just drinking wine on an empty stomach. Waiter seemed a bit irritated after we asked if the order could be delivered quickly. After 45 minutes our order finally arrived. Here too, we were not asked whether we wanted brown or white bread. Fortunately, the ciabatta with smoked salmon and the onion tasted very good.

The Brassola and the confit canard were delicious! The Christmas atmosphere was beautiful and cozy. The icing on the cake was the professional service with menu suggestions and wine advice.
