The place to be for morning coffee!

We had a super delicious meal here! Everything is prepared fresh and is very reasonably priced! You will definitely see us back here more often. The only downside is that it was quite busy on the weekend, but even then, De Koffiemolen is more than worth a visit!

Good coffee. Relaxing outside on benches on both sides of a street where only the occasional cyclist rides past.

Previously a very nice spot for flexible working with a laptop on the first floor. Unfortunately, after the renovation there is not much space left (round tables, small bar ledge), so unfortunately I had to look for another place for this.

Friendly service. Delicious carrot cake! It's a shame that the piece of cake was cut just as thick as a slice of sponge cake. It couldn't even stand upright. False economy. The quality of the whipped cream could be much better.

I've eaten the pumpkin sandwich here before, but it's really so delicious I just had to have it again!! It's a really nice place to have a coffee or just a nice lunch, but I think it gets very busy often!

Had a lovely coffee and smoothie with my husband, and on Liberation Day at that, wonderfully outside in the sunshine. Plus, the staff were very nice and friendly!

Returned to this gem in Alkmaar once again! A pleasant surprise that the interior has undergone a makeover! Wow! Great atmosphere. We arrived a little after opening time and a number of tables were already occupied; nice to see! The flat white was delicious. A tad smaller than I am used to, though (the espresso/oat milk ratio makes it a rather strong experience 😇). I also enjoyed the delicious homemade blueberry cheesecake crumble, which brought the whole thing into perfect balance.

Great experience! Yummy food and excellent service. I had the club sandwich and my grandma had the tuna sandwich. Loved it!

The location of the coffee bar is truly beautiful, with a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. The interior is stylish and cozy, which makes it extra pleasant to sit there. The food was delicious – the portion size in the sandwich was just right and really left me feeling satisfied. The presentation of the dish was very beautiful and well-cared for; I found it looked very appealing. Moreover, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I would love to return to.

Renovated and still a nice place to grab a drink and a snack. Spontaneous encounters are possible.

Newly renovated café in Alkmaar, somewhat uninviting interior with a plastic palm tree and plastic cacti. The cappuccino was excellent, but the scones we ordered were nothing like scones. They were just soggy pastries, and the clotted cream was nonexistent. It all felt heavy in our stomachs. In our opinion, it was better in every way before the renovation. Perhaps there was a change of ownership? Nevertheless, I'm happy to increase my rating to 4 stars because the owners were open to the criticism; thank you for your response.

A very cozy little place with cheerful staff. Whether the weather is good or bad, you're always in the right place here. The Old Beemster toastie is highly recommended!

Great place for breakfast. Delicious coffee and fantastic food. Also great for families with small children, as there are toys and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

I always enjoyed coming here because of the cozy atmosphere. The food and drinks are still good quality, so that's certainly not the problem. That's precisely why I find it especially disappointing that the cozy atmosphere has disappeared after the renovation. The wooden chairs are very uncomfortable, and the furniture and decor feel rather basic and bare. Orders aren't taken upstairs, and I also found it very dirty in the restaurant. For me, it now lacks the charm that once made this place so inviting. Such a shame.

Neat and well-maintained, the service is attentive and service-oriented. The food is delicious. And the coffee is good. It was very busy when we were there, though, and the stools aren't very comfortable for sitting for extended periods.

The coffee was excellent, and the service was even better. Despite the crowds, they were very friendly and helpful. It was great that there were more than enough food and drink options, even for me as someone with a cow's milk allergy. There were even pastries!

The renovated coffee shop looks and feels like a warm welcome! The ideal spot for a (delicious) coffee date (with cake!) or lunch. Despite the place being packed, the service and friendliness are undeniable! :)

My favorite place to have lunch and work outside the home

February 2025 A nice place and pretty busy. Also a place which accepts reservations and that for a Coffee - café place. Quite an extensive menu as well. Only remark is attendance of staff, working 5 people but waiting time for ordering (not waiting for drinks or food) is too long. If you're Lucky you get something nice with your Coffee.... Maybe working bit on the accoustics.

A wonderful place in Alkmaar where I love to bring my daughter for a flat white and a babyccino for her, along with a treat. The staff and owners are super friendly and passionate about good coffee.

I love coming to De Koffiemolen for the delicious coffee, pastries, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff. The makeover completes the picture for me. It's a perfect fit for Jeff and Esmee, making it even more of a living room. But with a beautiful, modern look. The professionalism is also a real step up with the beautiful kitchen and bar! It was okay. The food tasted okay, good avocado and the radish was a good addition ,but it was a small portion, not equal to the price. The coffee was good. The service we got was okay, but the table was dirty when we arrived and not cleaned in between. And there is no ordering upstairs, you need to go down.

Waited ages for coffee, I think about 40 minutes. They say it's busy, but it's always busy, so maybe they should do something about staffing?

I went here because I had read that they had the best coffee in town. That turned out not to be the case, and I even had to send my coffee back because it only tasted like water and milk. It is also very noisy and not super clean. It really needs to be cleaned better. There is dust and dirt in every corner 😉

Delicious coffee and pastries beautifully presented. A charming space, friendly staff. Outdoor seating is also available. They also have a loyalty program for repeat customers. And always a little lucky charm with your order. A really nice touch.

I'm a picky coffee drinker here, but wow, they had me right away! The service was super friendly and it was exactly the coffee I was hoping for. Oh my goodness, and the pancakes... so delicious.

It's okay, the brownies and blondie were super small, the matcha wasn't good at all, but the rest was okay. The atmosphere was very overstimulating, but also OK. In my opinion, there are better alternatives. Also, there are no hot or salty dishes after 3:30 PM.

We ate here two days in a row during our stay in Alkmaar. We had a very cozy, homey atmosphere and friendly service. The protein bowl was especially delicious and beautifully presented. And not to forget, the coffee was delicious!

Nice decor, lots of plants. The scones were delicious, not dry or anything, but the amount of curd and cream was a bit small. We also had the iced caramel latte, which was very tasty, but a bit small for the price. Service was a bit unclear about whether you had to order at the bar or not, and our table was a bit dirty, but it wasn't cleaned. There are gender-neutral restrooms!

One of the best coffee spots in Alkmaar has to be De Koffiemolen, with its excellent Bocca coffee. This cozy, plant-filled coffee bar also serves breakfast, a fresh lunch, or homemade pastries. The delicious Sunny Bowl is highly recommended, beautifully decorated with various toppings, making it a feast for the eyes. De Koffiemolen is a place you'll want to return to.

One of the best carrot cake I've ever had. The dough is incredibly delicious, and the cream is not overly sweet. Perfect 👌🏻

Love this place. Perfectly for cozy healthy breakfast, brunch & lunches🥙On the pricey side but oh well, what isn’t nowadays? Super delicious tho! And was really full afterwards. Love the warm soft scones here (not too stiff/dry/hard) and the blue ocean bowl and pink protein bowl wow, works of art!!🎨 The berry smoothie is also delicious! Chai latte, perfect with the foam and every coffee has a matching cookie. The mango smoothie is a bit too sweet but wonderful to sit here. Definitely child-friendly too with various toys! Loved this vibe! You also get a lucky doll with your coffee🪆

Breakfast in Alkmaar was a culinary experience. Fresh pastries with jam and honey, topped off with a fruit dessert. A glass of fresh orange juice, and the perfect start to the day.

Espresso and latte macchiato were delicious: 5 ⭐️, monchou and passion fruit cake were super light and fresh😍: 5 ⭐️. The homemade iced tea wasn't that good; the ginger flavor was very strong and left a burning feeling in your throat: 2 ⭐️. We hope you'll take this tip to heart. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed, and the service is friendly and fast! #update 15-7-25: We also had a great lunch here!

There were 2 pastries on the menu for vegan eaters. Really deliciously made. Also Sat on the second floor. You can't see that outside, so my girlfriend was already upstairs and I was waiting outside on the terrace. I think it's a shame that there were almost no dishes for vegetarians, but it was super cozy and atmospheric

I had a toasted avocado with boiled eggs which has no taste or flavor at all!! Also pink protein ball, it was so watery and hard to eat it with a spoon.. lastly the strawberry pancakes which was the best dish of them

The smoothie bowl and the Avocado + salmon + egg sandwich were delicious. The coffee certainly lives up to its name.
