Very good cake and perfect Coffee!

By far the best coffee in Alkmaar.

I am telling you honestly, this owner is not in his senses. I went to CoffeeBar Roast in Alkmaar expecting a pleasant time, but instead he spoke so rudely, as if customers are a burden for him. Very unfriendly, no respect, no manners. I will never go back and I don’t recommend anyone to waste their time here

It's a shame to read that the owner isn't taking responsibility. To return to A_'s review and the owner's response, which were blatant lies. I was also at Roast that day and heard a young man ask a normal question about the cost of the cappuccino they'd purchased, but the owner immediately raised his voice very rudely, saying, "You have to use your eyes, you can't read!" It's written there! The woman then tried to engage the owner in conversation, but he raised his voice to her as well, to no avail. I'm a psychologist; perhaps the owner could come talk to her about his frustrations.

A friendly welcome with delicious coffee and a wonderful smoothie. If we ever visit Alkmaar again, we'll definitely be back!

It's unbelievable that bad reviews are simply deleted! Unacceptable behavior of the owner I've rarely been treated as rudely as I was at Roast. The owner yelled at guests as if they were nuisances. It was impossible to communicate normally with him at any point—everything was met with an unfriendly attitude or a blunt sneer. The atmosphere he creates is downright hostile. You come here for a quiet cup of coffee, but you go home with a bad feeling. That someone who runs a restaurant dares to treat people like this is truly incomprehensible. As a guest, you expect respect and a modicum of hospitality—at Roast, you get the opposite. I absolutely do not recommend this café and sincerely hope the owner examines his behavior.

A particularly unpleasant experience. I ordered a cappuccino, but unfortunately, the visit was very disappointing. The owner was noticeably unfriendly and reacted downright aggressively (to a woman) when I asked a simple question. The cappuccino (a to-go!) cost €5.25, which is already a hefty price, but for that price, you'd expect at least normal customer service. Unfortunately, that seems to be completely absent here. Reading the reviews below, I see I'm not the only one. The complaints about the owner are structural and consistent, which is a real shame.

Food and service by the ladies was great. Until the 'hulk', apparently the owner already shouting when his staff was ordering and criticizing.

Good food, good vibes, decent prices. Mostly wheelchair accessible except the toilet is down a steep and narrow staircase. The toilet is clean. Smoking outside is allowed which is a big problem for me. It's hard to enjoy your food when someone is smoking next to you.

Yes great! I'm a regular here☕️ Great for a (special) coffee, pastry, cozy on the couch or working with your laptop at the regular tables. Friendly staff and a great time in Alkmaar The Willy caramel coffee is delicious, carrot cake is fantastic🍰 The green smoothie is a bit spicy because of the arugula and mixes less well, I personally liked the pink smoothie (burgundy color) better haha

I ordered a matcha latte, but the preparation was far below standard. The employee put a few scoops of matcha powder in a cup, poured water, stirred briefly and added milk. The result was full of lumps. Matcha must be prepared carefully and correctly, but that did not happen here at all. When I indicated that the drink was not made properly, the response was unfriendly. If you want to order a matcha latte here, I would definitely advise against it.

The lattes are often very tasty, but the calibration coffee is less tasty. The owner can come across as a bit rude and often stands pacing on the terrace on quiet days, or sits with a bear in front of his café. Not very inviting.

Coffee dirty, not recommended, the iced coffees are dirty, milk is whipped in the blender 🤢 and the owner is aggressive 😡

A small but nice café in the heart of Alkmaar. Here you can drink delicious coffee, also special variations such as Chai Latte and a delicious latte macchiato with vannile syrup and white chocolate. Iced coffee is also served here. In addition to coffee, they also serve delicious sandwiches and other snacks to enjoy. This location is definitely recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and want a moment of peace with a nice cup of coffee.

In Alkmaar Centrum, high quality coffee options along with cakes, desserts and tosti's. They have vegan options both eating & drinking. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable chair and couch. If you sit window side you can watch the world goes by, next to a popular shopping street. Staff is friendly and nice. I visit this place always when i go to Alkmaar.
