De Lunchroom in Wijk 14 Rosmolenwijk

It is very peculiar that all hospitality venues here are simply closed the entire weekend and evenings. Apparently, in Zaandam, people are just supposed to be sick properly during office hours.

The menu says you can choose from white, brown, or sourdough rolls. However, when I tried to order a sourdough roll with salmon, it was only available on a white roll. A bit unusual in itself. When I went to the restroom, I saw a large number of sourdough rolls with salmon in the display case. I asked again, but they were only for the hospital staff…? Only half of the rolls I ordered arrived; they had forgotten to give the other rolls to the kitchen, as had happened the previous time… In the Albert Heijn (AH) area a few meters away, there's a nice sandwich shop and butcher with rolls. It's better to order there and then eat them in the much more charming coffee shop next door.

Egg was not cooked properly. Waited more than half an hour for them to come even though it wasn't busy. Tea was lukewarm and the hot chocolate was even colder than the tea.

VERY bad coffee :)) and expensive, 4,20€ i believe. The place was nice and the barista as well, but in the end you have to drink it.

Looked decent, but the service was terrible.

Only healthy options are available; there are no croquettes or sausage rolls. The prices are outrageous... €4.50 for a glass of orange juice and €4.00 for a plain toasted sandwich on plain white bread... If you've ever been here, I still long for the restaurant in the old hospital.

We sat for a while, but weren't helped, so we walked to the "buffet" ourselves. We started pouring a smoothie, but were then told it was only for hospital staff and we could only be served at the table. We returned to the table, and someone came to take our order. It was very unclear because it wasn't clearly stated anywhere, and we had already been sitting for about 10 minutes, yet no one came even though it wasn't busy. €6.95 for a salad with a slice of bread. Unfortunately, no butter or anything came with the bread. The salad was fine. A smoothie for €4.45. The staff should be more attentive to non-staff members.

Healthcare staff are not allowed to sit on the terrace, even if you pay a lot for lunch. Very unfriendly and strange. And on top of that, the terrace is completely empty!

Great service, delicious coffee, quiet place.
