Excellent dining experience. One of the few places in the Netherlands where you can order both a bear's claw and a sour mat. The moment you step through the door, it feels like 2005 all over again.

This cafeteria turns you into a real food expert. This culinary delight has the largest selection of Snacks, Fries and even toys. The atmosphere is so unique that it feels like you are going back in time and trying real ancient oriental snacks. De Molen is a cafeteria run by two very friendly Chinese gentlemen. Immediately upon entering, you feel the warmth of its owners. The food is sandwiches from chips to croquettes. Recommendable.

Wonderful aroma greets you when you open the front door of the mill. What a great place, I have rarely tasted such a good special frikadel. It's a given: a day without milling is a day wasted!

One of the most authentic experiences that should not only be cherished but should also be on your bucket list. As soon as you cross the threshold of this establishment, the friendly owners will be ready for you in their time machine filled with delicious food. Once you know what the toppers are, you won't want anything else.

When I enter this spacious establishment and the exquisite odors enter my sense of smell, my mouth waters instantly. Highly recommended.

This will be a 2 part review, actually 3. But, like the mill, it is hopefully worth your time. This snack bar was recommended to me by a friend for all the reasons you can read in the reviews. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful old authentic tent. Friendly staff, but there are billboards on the wall that probably come from a time when I was still liquid myself. On a mini fridge there was an A4 sheet with "we do not sell alcohol after 8 p.m.", neatly adhering to the corona rules, plus points. On the wall next to it there was an A4 sheet of paper with "We have not sold alcohol to people under the age of 18 since 2014." Those rules are also clear. Neat cafeteria of decent people who stick to the rules. Behind the counter you can buy everything from goulash croquettes to bags of chips and water pistols. The staff served me satay spring rolls, a nice form of "upsell", the staff had good commercial education. I took the spring rolls, but kindly declined the offer to order extra fries. Easter eggs hung on the wall. No real Easter eggs, but in the way that you walk into a cafeteria and see new things wherever you look. That A4 note with "no alcohol sales after 8 p.m."? It hung on a mini fridge that contained no alcohol, but boxes of frying fat. On the wall hang Chinese wisdom such as "less sugar, more fruit" and "less meat, more vegetables". It is unclear to me whether they sell vegetables, but it remains health advice that you should disagree with. Above the door on the inside hangs a sign with an ancient Greek scene. You can also wait for your tasty order on a stool that probably dates from before the war. By the way, those stools are not against the wall, there are already boxes of junk (or tasty snacks) lined up there. Outside there is a shopping cart with a chain lock attached to a gate. All in all, the overall experience is an absolute 10/10. The food is an 8/10 so far, just delicious and tomorrow I will know more about the health hazards. The staff gets a 10/10, just nice. TLDR: good shop full of atmosphere. Nice and authentic. Food as you expect from a snack bar called De Molen. Staff top notch. Recommended for the adventurer

Been coming there since 1995. Because of the RAS fries. I had been suffering from a tickly cough for a year and a half. Get tested for corona. Negative. The man behind the counter heard me. And made me take a pinch from a bottle of oil. And promptly my ticklish cough was over. Now every time I have a tickly cough, I take the oil and the urge to cough goes away. A miracle cure better than codeine or cough syrups. Doesn't really cost much! Ask about it. Recommended!

All 5* reviews are fake. Dirty business and don't try the satay sauce. Owners do their best; Ate here once (outside, because there is no room inside) and for the rest there was a lot of walk-in from people who came to get cigarettes

Recently enjoyed a delicious snack at De Molen. Was helped very friendly by the multilingual host, who kindly received me. I certainly liked the combination of croquette and magic ball. There is also something to be said about the interior. Spacious, clean, colorful and cozy. I was impressed and will definitely come again!

A spectacular snackbar. It's very deceiving from the outside, inside it has an authentic medieval Utrecht feel. I was visiting from Canada and would return to Europe just to eat here! The croquettes are unparalleled, you absolutely must try the croquettes à la rodentia!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!!!!! I have always wanted to write a review about this after living next to it for 19 years since I was a child and having gotten sick from its food several times. Very downright disgusting chip shop with a stingy, dirty Chinese owner. The food gets a 2 out of 10 purely because you can fill your stomach. The owner who calls himself Jimmy has an attitude towards his customers and does not appreciate your business. In addition, hygiene is also very poor. I have also seen "Jimmy" foaming mayonnaise at Lidl before and labels it as Remia. His walls are also full of Remia posters that were also there 20 years ago. Space is very tight (about 2x2m) so not worth a visit at all To earn extra money, this man also sells old second-hand super random items that are yellowing in the window frame. The good reviews are ALL FAKE and created by accounts with only one review. I hope that the next time I come to Utrecht I will not see this place again and that I will get something clean, refreshing and new in return.

Super bad snack bar!! It stinks of old grease, is completely full of junk and is terribly rancid!! I ordered the following there: Fries with Frikandel special Spring roll The fries contained a hair from the Asian who had hair loss, the spring roll had dirt in it instead of something that looked like a vegetable Frikandel special tasted like what has been used for half a year. Ordered once, never again and it's really scandalous that this snack bar exists!!!!!
