DE OUDE TELEFOONCENTRALE in Oud-Strijp

At 20.30 we asked for food and were told the kitchen is closed 😔. We could order only fries and some finger food. When leaving later we noticed an anothers table getting served normal dishes. The fries were good but we didn't feel really welcomed.

Delicious, truly delicious. Shared dinner. It was incredibly good and also really much more. Hats off to the kitchen and Bram in the service.

We had a wonderful meal here! We opted for the shared dinner for two people. The staff were very friendly and even came over for a chat! After the starter (which was quite a lot), we were already a bit full. But then came much more, several small dishes that you can also order as a large portion for a regular dinner. So we almost ate the entire menu! It was definitely too much for us, even though we're big eaters. We finished with a delicious dessert (which was included), and the drinks were also excellent! All in all, a very good experience; we're hungry for more!

A wonderful place with a wonderful social purpose. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you immediately feel welcome. The food is surprisingly delicious and also very affordable. Highly recommended if you're in Eindhoven and looking for something with atmosphere and meaning.

Last month, after ordering a Thai red curry soup, a staff member politely informed me that it still needed to be defrosted, which got me thinking. Unfortunately, when I finally received the soup, it was very disappointing. It was very watery and contained little to no ingredients—no vegetables, chicken, or other fillings you'd normally expect in a Thai curry soup. I provided feedback with the intention of helping to improve, but unfortunately, I didn't receive a response.

Great spot for a drink! The shared dinner was very limited, with little variety. The meat resembled vegetarian meat. The dessert was no bigger than one bite... I went home hungry.

Great tasty varied sakade, nicely garnished with special flavourings and incredibly friendly service. And to finish a nice espresso with crema layer.

Not an extensive menu but just finger-licking good food, a tasty meal, and the special from the rotating tap was a tasty triple, which, as the service warned, drinks down like a normal draft beer.

On the window side you are in a draft. Nice atmosphere and nice staff.

It was cold there and closing at 10pm on a Friday evening is strange.

Although we got a good impression from the atmosphere, the terrace, the surroundings and the options on the menu, this was unfortunately not fulfilled during our lunch. First of all, it took a long time before we could order. A female colleague told us that this was possible with one of the men, but she did not let him know, so we had to wait again. It also took a long time for our food to arrive, but anyway, we were sitting in the sun so we were not dissatisfied. We had the 'soul foud meal' twice, but once they arrived, they forgot the pita bread. As a result, we only got some fries and a bowl of pulled chicken. We asked for it twice more, and it was supposed to be brought, but it never came. Unfortunately, we ate our meat without bread haha. When we received the bill, we thought, oh well, we'll solve it this way. We received a 10% discount on the incorrect products. 1.60 per person. The dish (fries, salad and a bit of meat) still cost us 14.90. We didn't think it was worth it at all, so it was a lesser experience! If it had been resolved better, we would still have enjoyed a nice lunch.

Lovely seated on the terrace, service very attentive. Food was okay, a bit much sauce and little lettuce in the salad. But great vegetarian options too.

Been here several times for a drink or lunch. Nice atmospheric place. Very tasty lunch dishes. The staff is always friendly and do their very best to make it as pleasant as possible for the guests. The prices are also very reasonable, I have not seen it cheaper in Eindhoven yet.

Cozy authentic establishment on the edge of Strijp S. Where else can you drink a beer for less than €3? I've eaten it several times and it's always delicious with a drink.

A surprisingly good meal in an attractively decorated and cozy tent. The hamburger tasted excellent with delicious fries. Lots of choice of beers and the chocolate mousse for dessert was excellent. Received a new glass of beer after it fell on the table, top service.

The beef burger seemed vegetarian, which I did not order. If it's not a vegetarian burger, it just wasn't tasty. The rest was fine

Ended up here by chance, my friend had soup, which was fine and other dishes on other tables looked good. I had Char Siu salad and my daughter the Char Siu meal. The meal was very weak, a bit snotty, really not tasty. My daughter ate maybe 6 bites. The salad I had looked good, chicken a bit red. I thought it must be because of the beets. In the evening I felt very nauseous and threw up everything, then I felt better, so clearly something was wrong with the food.

Trendy place with social ideas. Excellent dishes, motivated employees who do their best within their capabilities. Shared lunch is recommended as well as the recommended chai latte and the tea mill 😉

I always visit this place when I'm in Eindhoven. It has a relaxed and unique atmosphere in a cool location on Strijp-S. In the summer, they have some tables outside and do regular events like DJ afternoons. The range of food and drinks is good, as is general quality. Service can be a bit quirky at times, but this is mitigated by the staff's general friendliness. A definite recommend.

What a fantastic lunch spot: *the lunch was delicious (fresh ingredients, tasty flavor combination) and surprising (french fries sticks in the salad); *the staff was super hospitable, took the time for a nice chat, thought along and gave tips; *nice terrace with shade, good chairs and finally, it is convenient that we could park nearby. It was an unforgettable experience, we would love to come back again.

The Nachos were tasty but the beef burger was substandard. I always eat everything, but these were just not tasty, the fries were. Indicated that the burger was mediocre, to which I received an answer that that is possible. Yes, that is possible, but I will certainly not come back for that. The service and atmosphere are good. So I will definitely come back for a beer and Nachos.

Nice terrace for a drink and/or have some food on Strijp-s. Affordably priced, not too overcrowded. Only minus is the view over the parking lots across the streets. Other than that nice place.

Nice place for a drink or a meal in Strijp.

We work at Strijp-S and regularly walk past the Old Telephone Exchange after a working day. There is a cozy atmosphere and the staff is super friendly and always there for you. Our dog is also welcome and is so pampered that she is very happy to come along. In the summer we like to sit on the terrace, because there you can sit in the sun until late. We like to have drinks there, and I love the gin and tonics they serve there. The staff is so attentive: the snack we always ate had been taken off the menu, but they still have some left especially for us! Every third Sunday of the month it is extra fun, because then a DJ Gouwe Ouwen plays and you can choose your own songs.

Very nice place with surprisingly tasty food. Super nice attentive service. We were on our way to PSV and a bit late and this was taken into account. The food was on the table quickly.

Here we ate the real sausage rolls, as they should be. Pea soup is also recommended. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lovely friendly service, will definitely come back.

Heerlijk gegeten en gedronken. De bediening was uiterst vriendelijk. Zelfs onze hond heeft genoten. Wij komen zeker terug.

Een prima lunch gescoord hier; hele lekker broodjes en ook het worstenbrood beviel meer dan prima. De staf is vriendelijk en begaan en helpt graag. Wij zaten op het terras, wat prima is, maar de binnenkant ziet er prachtig uit; ingericht zoals de naam doet vermoeden. De toiletten zijn schoon.

Lars en Daniëlle hebben ons super geholpen! Goed eten en een gemoedelijke service! Aanrader!

Ik woon al 10 jaar op Strijp-S en heb zoveel spijt dat ik hier niet eerder ben geweest. Wat een lekker eten en de prijzen zijn zo verrassend acceptabel. De omgekeerde wereld vergeleken met de etensplekken op de Torenallee e.d. De igratis initiatieven die beschikbaar gesteld worden tijdens het eten zijn ook fantastisch bedacht. Probeer deze plek!

Leuk restaurant in nostalgisch gebouw op het S-terrein in Eindhoven

Leuke plek met lekker eten. Echter moesten we de laatste keer wel érg lang op ons eten (en drinken) wachten. Toen we het dan éindelijk kregen, was het niet goed opgewarmd. We hadden ontzettende honger en hadden geen zin om het terug te sturen.

Walked In lunch with colleagues for lunch. We were in a hurry. The staff were very accommodating and we got our food quickly. Location - 7/10 (strijp-S, if you are working near by, it is a great place. Far from the centrum though) Ambiance - 8/10 (rustic, I like it this way) Staff - 9/10 (very friendly and efficient) Food - 8/10 Value - 8/10 Recommend - Yes Return - Yes

I ordered a vegetable soup and a latte. They were delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. Enjoyed with the design and the rainy day. Nice place to hang out.

Wij hebben met 13 man gebruik gemaakt van shared dinner. De bediening was erg vriendelijk, maar het serveren van het eten tussen de gerechten door duurde erg lang. Bij het opnemen en uitserveren van de drankjes zijn elke keer drankjes vergeten. Deze waren niet aangeslagen op de rekening, maar wel erg irritant om dubbel om een drankje te moeten vragen. Het eten zelf was erg lekker en we hebben uiteindelijk een prima avond gehad.

ik wil dit toch even kwijt 5 sterren voor het eten we waren donderdag daar wezen eten en het eten was heerlijk toen we klaar waren hebben we gereserveerd voor vrijdag 6 uur voor 4 man we waren op tijd maar wat bleek ze hadden denk ik een grote groep binnen gehaald en onze tafel was bezet we mochten midden in de zaak aan 2 kleine ronden tafeltjes plaats nemen waar nog geen 2 borden op konden staan nou dat ging het niet worden dus ik vind dit een zeer kwalijke zaak waar reserveer je dan nog voor

Heerlijk gegeten. Alleen de bediening was niet geweldig. 3 wijntjes en een maaltijd bij ons op de bon gezet...helaas betaald..klopte van geen kante helaas.

Aardige mensen in de bediening, eten was ook wel aardig, prima voor de gevraagde prijs. Alleen.......hebben ze geen afzuigkap? Het rook erg naar eten en baklucht (oud vet) in het restaurant, niet lekker. Gevolg dat onze kleren en jassen ook erg naar keuken stonken. De mensen in het theater waar we later heen gingen klaagden er zelfs over en ook na een dag luchten rook de kleding nog steeds. Als het terrasseizoen is komen we nog wel eens terug 😉

Erg leuke zaak, woon al weer 14jaar om de hoek, maar kwam er vandaag voor het eerst! Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar, leuk personeel, goede service, en niet duur!

Op zich een leuk concept met die oude telefoons die refereren aan de Philipstijd maar de sfeer én de bediening is matig.

Eerste bezoek: Leuk voor een biertje en goedkope snelle hap :) Voor de tweede x geweest: terwijl het om 10 uur sluit krijg je al een half uur eerder de rekening gepresenteerd. Oftewel wegwezen. Erg klantonvriendelijk. Je kunt ook aangeven dat het laatste rondje gaat plaatsvinden. Kom er niet meer zo snel.
