De Pelgrim Foodbar in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

The food was delicious! Very friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere and courtyard garden. I think the menu could have been a bit more extensive. I had to get used to the small dishes that didn't come with the standard potatoes and salad. You have to order those separately. Nevertheless, it's worth a return visit!

Last weekend we went to eat at this fantastic place again. Delicious food plus good service! Nice atmosphere inside and in the summer outside :)

Enjoyed a delicious dinner in this beautiful space, housed in one of Nijmegen's oldest buildings. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and there's an extensive wine list (I particularly enjoyed a delicious Kendall Jackson). The knowledgeable and friendly staff are highly recommended!

Bij Foodbar De Pelgrim in Nijmegen word je echt verrast! De zalm die we hadden was supervers, mooi opgemaakt en had een heerlijke mix van smaken en texturen. De sfeer is ongedwongen en ideaal voor een gezellig diner. Zeker een plek om nog eens terug te komen!

De Pelgrim in Nijmegen is highly recommended! The dishes look beautiful and taste amazing. The fresh salmon with crunchy toppings and fresh cucumber was a highlight. My experience at de pilgrim in Nijmegen was beautiful, we had a delicious meal and a fantastic beer tasting. The best about the experience was that we could have the service in German thanks to their multicultural stuff. 😊

It's time for a new, better, professional chef to come in and better management of communication. I will come and work there. I have 42 years of experience, but I don't see a t-bone steak on the menu or entrecote and spare ribs and smoked whiskey burger. owner should make a better plan and sit at the table with staff and clean the kitchen and this tip clean your grill plate with every steak

Service takes too much and far too long, not responsive and having to beckon several times. Food is really substandard, ribeye for €32 and then serving a really small mediocre piece of meat and not flavorful is simply not ok. And please turn up the lighting a bit at night. The different colors of peppers were indistinguishable from each other so dark. The potential is there, but not anymore.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the reviews below. De Pelgrim was recommended to me as a wonderfully diverse shared dining concept. Once we arrived, it turned out that the Pilgrim no longer existed, but the restaurant was taken over by De Hemel. A nice beer brewery, but not recommended for good food. The food is pricey and just not tasty. We had the burrata and ceviche beforehand. The burrata would be with lentils, tomatoes and asparagus. Unfortunately it was a mini burrata, with extremely many lentils, 3 sour tomatoes and no asparagus. According to the service, the asparagus would be 'inside' the lentils... Unfortunately that was not the case. Dry bites of lentils with the occasional sour tomato and a little bit of burrata. The ceviche was also disappointing, very sour and little taste. As a main course we had the cauliflower and pointed cabbage. The cauliflower was tasty, the pointed cabbage was unfortunately very dry and tasteless. All in all, with starter, main course and two drinks per person, €100 was spent on food, which was really disappointing. We weren't full either. Too bad, unfortunately we can't recommend De Pelgrim to anyone!

Vanavond op het terras gegeten. Erg vriendelijk en hardwerkend Duits meisje in de bediening Voorgerecht Carpaccio deze was flinterdun en erg vochtig. Hoofdgerecht surf en turf dit zou geserveerd worden met friet en salade. Surf en turf lag in heel veel olie/ vet. We hadden het vlees al bijna op en toen kwam de friet pas. De man in de bediening reageerde onbeschoft toen we er iets van zeiden. Nagerecht crème brulde was er maar een van. Scropino was er niet. Cheese cake was er nog maar 1 van. Dus 2 personen koffie met likeur. Die kregen we redelijk snel, de nagerechten kwamen toen de koffie op was. Een gezellige avond maar het was wel een teleurstelling

Unfortunately. Been here several times until two years ago, what a great place it was. De Hemel seems to have taken over and nothing is left of the beautiful restaurant De Pelgrim. Unfortunately, the concept, the menu and the quality are no longer there. If you now choose the Pilgrim, you automatically choose Heaven. For example, a hamburger without taste, salt-free fries and tasty beer. I would say definitely come here for the beer tasting, but if you want to enjoy a nice meal, walk further.

The Pelgrim Foodbar is one of the businesses that are part of the Commanderie. In addition to lunch and dinner, you can also buy all sorts of things there. The beer mustard used in the various dishes is for sale. A casual atmosphere and a large terrace in front of the building.

The site has a great menu with all kinds of special options, but upon arrival it turned out that a completely different menu was served with standard meals. The staff were very nice, but after a drink was spilled on our table by the waiter, no cloth was brought to clean it up. We never got our starter and the bun of the veggie burger we ordered was old and hard. Our table was not cleared in the meantime, even when new drinks were brought. The staff apologized for this and as mentioned they were very friendly, but the food in combination with the service was quite disappointing.

A disappointing experience at the Pilgrim. We had been served at the Pelgim and upon arrival were placed at the Heaven, which is very different in appearance. The menu appeared to have been completely adjusted two weeks ago and the food had been merged with the Hemel kitchen. There was also an adapted, more limited menu for groups of 6 people or more, which was not communicated to us when we made the reservation. That is not what we knew from the Pilgrim (namely a 'journey' with different courses and nice smaller dishes). Now it was 'just' before / main / after. The food itself was good, there was nothing to say about that. The ministry at Heaven only spoke English. The Pilgrim himself uses Dutch. After some inquiries we were able to go to the Pilgrim. Advice: make sure you have your website in order or inform people during a reservation that the concept has changed. Also point out to people that a more limited menu (even though that doesn't make sense) is available for groups of 6 or more. Communication is important. No more Pilgrim for us with this new boring concept.

Disappointing experience at De Pelgrim Foodbar During my visit to De Pelgrim Foodbar I was disappointed by several aspects. Firstly, I had seen a promising dish on the website in advance, but upon arrival there appeared to be a new menu without attractive options. Because of this, I ultimately decided to order the hamburger, which was served for a price of €21, which was far too high in my opinion. It was a soft baker's bun with an unfortunately tasteless hamburger with a handful of fries that were undercooked and served without salt. When we asked for salt, we received it with the plastic packaging still present, which did not come off. My table companions were also not happy with their dishes so we quickly left. The staff only spoke English, but were friendly. The design of the Foodbar was nice, but the cheap look of the plastic plants detracted from the overall atmosphere. All in all, my experience at De Pelgrim Foodbar was disappointing, especially given the dissatisfaction with the menu, the price-quality ratio and the quality of the food. **Rating: 2/5**.

We intended to go to de Hemel, but as it turns out de Pelgrim now serves the same menu and we opted to sit in de Pelgrim, as the acoustics seemed better to us (quieter). The food is great, and there is a wide selection of beers, every dish in fact has its own beer recommendation. Great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended for us! There were two of us. Very attractive building, cozy furnishings, nice tasty dishes (which we shared) and friendly service. We chose many vegetarian options, all delicious!

Nos lo recomendó un amigo que vive aquí, o sea, que aunque está en el centro va gente de Nimega. La comida está bastante bien, tienen un proyecto interesante que es ofrecer comidas de cualquier parte del mundo 🌍, además lo comunican bien. El tataki de atún estaba muy rico aunque la cantidad era escasa y el plato de Haití también nos gustó. La tarta de queso a mi hijo le gustó, para mí demasiado dulce. Servicio profesional y amable. Tienen cervezas propias, la que bebí, Mariken, estaba bien. Buena relación calidad precio. Es muy grande, decoración cuidada, con una terraza amplísima pero fuimos demasiado pronto, creo que por eso no había mucho ambiente.

Wat een super kwaliteit eten én bediening, dat was een verademing! Voor manlief glutenvrij was goed voor elkaar, dachten mee en wisten goed waar ze mee bezig waren qua kruisbesmetting.

Je zit leuk buiten met mooi weer. Bierproeverij aan de tafel gedaan. Hapjes aan de tafel waren niet van bijzondere kwaliteit.

Mooie en rustige locatie. Stoelen buiten nogal basic en wiebelen op ondergrond van kleine stenen. Vriendelijke bediening.

Leuk restaurantje, fijne bediening, maar hoe is het eten, had de vegetarische lamskebab besteld, dat was een tegenvaller een smaakloos gerecht{je} voor 14.50. Heb er maar een schaaltje patat bij besteld wat ook geen topper was, 5 euro voor een schaaltje patat wat ook nog bestond uit kleine stukjes friet en de huisgemaakte mayonaise?, nee dit is niet waar de mensen op zitten te wachten

Super schön gelegenes Restaurant. Insbesondere, wenn man aussen sitzen möchte. Das Essen und der Service ist ebenfalls gut.

Fijn personeel. Mooie locatie. Heerlijk gegeten. Uitsmijter besteld. Zag er keurig verzorgd uit. Absoluut voor herhaling vatbaar.

Als je op zoek bent naar een restaurant waar je verrassende gerechtjes kunt proeven en waar de bediening op het juiste moment met de juiste wijnen en suggesties komt, dan is De Pelgrim zeker een aanrader! Ik heb hier onlangs gegeten en het was een fantastische avond. Het begon allemaal met de Pelgrimstocht, die een mooie introductie gaf tot de culinaire ervaring die nog zou volgen. Het menu bood een verscheidenheid aan heerlijke gerechten, elk met hun eigen unieke smaak en presentatie. Ik was vooral onder de indruk van de creativiteit en innovatie die in elk gerecht was verwerkt. De bediening was ook uitstekend. Ze kwamen op de juiste momenten langs met de juiste wijnen en suggesties, waardoor de hele ervaring nog beter werd. Ik heb echt genoten van de persoonlijke benadering en de passie die de bediening had voor het eten en de wijnen. Al met al was het een topavond bij De Pelgrim. Ik zou dit restaurant zeker aanraden aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een bijzondere eetervaring in een gezellige sfeer met uitstekende service.

Heerlijk gegeten op een mooie plek in Nijmegen. Bediening is super, erg vriendelijk en weet veel te vertellen over de verschillende gerechten. Prijzen zijn iets hoger dan gemiddeld, maar ik zal het zeker aanraden om voor een leuke gelegenheid of om écht lekker en bijzonder te eten hierheen te gaan!

Ontzettend sfeervol restaurant, het pand van buiten is prachtig authentiek en binnen heeft het een hele mooie, moderne en warme uitstraling. Je kunt vanuit het restaurant de keuken in kijken en zien met hoe veel aandacht je eten wordt bereid. De bediening was vlot en netjes, ze hebben een leuke bierkaart doordat de lokale brouwerij in het zelfde pand zit. Als ik mijn vriendin mag geloven hadden ze ook hele lekkere wijnen. Toen het eten werd geserveerd kwam de chef zelf toelichting geven over zijn gerecht, zowel over de smaken als presentatie was goed nagedacht. Zeker een aanrader, wij komen hier sowieso vaker terug!

Het eten, de sfeer en de bediening is heel goed en fijn. Het is alleen de prijs en het concept waar de schoen wat wringt. Een klein gerechtje kost 14€, een 'wereldreis' is een verzameling van vier gerechtjes voor 45€. Echter het eerste gerechtje komt niet van de wereldreis maar is een goedkoper voorgerecht van de andere kant van de kaart. Het laatste gerecht is een cheesecake (heel lekker) maar wel erg duur voor 14€. Kies lekker losse gerechtjes.

De sfeer was goed, maar helaas kijk je letterlijk op de pisbakken op de mannen wc.

Absolutely lovely ambience in the outdoor seating area on a cool evening in early Autumn. The service was fabulous, and the food was exquisite.

Heerlijk gegeten, fijne, kleine gerechtjes. Leuk concept. Goede uitleg en hulp bij de gekozen gerechtjes. Vriendelijke bediening, fijne locatie. Wel wat duurder dan gemiddeld.

Zojuist heerlijk gegeten bij de Pelgrim....gezellige sfeer en ook super vriendelijk bediend door Yannick. We gaan zeker nog een keer terug want we hebben nog niet alles geproefd. Ps.....Yannick jij bent een topper.... Maak je niet vaak mee dat men klaar is met werken en afscheid neemt voor het naar huis gaan....

Pelgrim is not the cheapest place, but the food, service and location more than make up for the price. The concept of offering small dishes from different parts of the world is wonderful for everyone who likes to explore all kinds of tastes. The best part is that they don't just offer many flavours, it's that the flavours are amazing all the same.

Bij mooi weer zit je hier om één van de mooiste terrassen van Nijmegen. Omsloten door historische bebouwing kun je hier in de luwte en tussen het groen dineren. Op de kaart staan kleine gerechten. Op die manier kun je een proeverij samenstellen, met de pelgrimstochten als thema. Bijpassend een biermenu met biertjes van de naastgelegen brouwerij. We hebben hier een prima avond gehad.
