Ordered roti for delivery a few times... Extremely expensive and very mediocre. The potatoes were dry and not very tasty, and the tempeh was barely fried.

What a disappointing experience. Where you expect warm Surinamese hospitality as a guest, you are confronted with cold Dutch efficiency. Upon entering, you are formally directed to a table and curtly asked to order via a QR code on the table. However, the ordering system malfunctioned, making it impossible to place an order. Requesting a staff member turned out not to work as an option. While waiting, it became apparent that the staff barely made any contact with the guests in the restaurant. Especially with an open kitchen centrally located in the establishment, this comes across as strange and, in a way, numb. After a long wait, we just left. Here, literally and figuratively, no one pays attention to you.

I ordered a nasi speciaal with cucumber, pickles, long beans, and pepper. After waiting for more than an hour, I received a roti. I called and arranged for them to bring it over. After almost another hour, I finally got my nasi. Lukewarm, no long beans, pickles, cucumber, or pepper. I called and they said it was too busy; making mistakes is human, and if I wanted those extras, I should just come and get them!!! Thanks Rini for the amazing service!

Avoid this place. I ordered online from their own site. They arrived way too late. The delivery time was one hour, and they arrived after 1:40. The food was cold and soggy. When I called, I was told they were coming to take a look? Why? After waiting for that for well over half an hour and no one showing up, I called again. Then I apparently got the owner on the line, who said he had delivered the food himself, that it was fresh, and that he could see the trouble coming from the moment I saw it on my face? Seriously. This is the worst online order ever. €40 down the drain and had to order something else.

This is the worst (Surinamese) Javanese Hindustani restaurant I have eaten at in ages. The order arrived incomplete. The roti flatbread was empty and unseasoned. The hot cucumbers were sweet and sour, but also sweet; the cod was tasteless and the kebab was boiled to mushy, including the potatoes. Everything is microwave food and certainly not fresh and as dry as can be. Not recommended.

Booked a table at a restaurant with colleagues. Upon arrival, it turned out to be a snack bar. It was scorching hot here, unpleasantly hot. The food was served unevenly. The last plate didn't arrive until the first people were almost finished. Drinks are served in cans and bottles, even though you come there to eat. Fries are served in a plastic fry container, while the rest get their food on a plate. I chose fries because the food is heated in the microwave and I don't eat microwave food. It is very chaotic, with many mistakes regarding ordering and delivery. During the time we were there, people who were waiting left four times. Personally, I will not be coming back here, and I don't expect the rest of the group to either. There was no one who was really enthusiastic about this place.

Had a hot chicken sandwich and a chicken satay sandwich this afternoon. Bread rolls dry, too little filling. Chicken satay tasted good but was dry. Hot chicken certainly wasn't hot. When a couple of guys who politely ordered something to take away sat down at a table... They were spoken to by the waitress in such an unfriendly manner that they were not allowed to sit there. For us, this was an immediate no-go. A shame, it is actually quite a place with potential. But not in this way.

Very bad experience, was immediately sent away because I had an almost empty cup in my hands, then back inside was very unfriendly. We were forced to sit at a table for two even though the whole place was empty. It is dead silent here, no music, really very unfriendly people, it is not worth your money!!!!

The only reason for this review is the behavior; otherwise, I would have left it at that. Apparently, you are not allowed to be honest about your food here if you don't like it. We didn't even ask for a refund! A big mouth from the young lady who immediately contradicted us instead of showing understanding. Not even an apology or expressing regret that it didn't taste up to standard; no, she'd rather behave rudely! So, we won't be coming here again; such behavior is too sad for words. The food: Roasted chicken with sand particles in it, probably not cleaned properly before frying or simply spoiled. Shrimp also not cleaned properly or of poor quality with an overpowering fishy taste. We found it very unfortunate that we had to go through this. The first impression upon entering was good, and we were helped well by the young man behind the counter; that was pleasant, but the rest is a pity.

Delicious roti and friendly service. Don't expect a restaurant for an elaborate night out; it is primarily a takeaway place with a few tables. The quality of the food is top-notch, although we found the prices to be a bit on the high side. Nevertheless, definitely recommended for Surinamese food in Nijmegen.

We were regular customers at Rini's until today. Our children brought a sandwich from another shop, and we were immediately addressed with a disrespectful tone and attitude, being told that this was not allowed. Okay, fine, we respect the rules, and I went outside with my children so they could eat their sandwiches. But just speak normally and respectfully to your customers, especially when children are involved. For anyone with children or expecting flexibility: don't expect that here. Today they showed that they don't value regular customers. And I'll eat my Telo somewhere else.

Treated poorly by the telephone. I voiced my complaint but the phone was simply hung up; very rude of Rini's wife. Apparently, the truth from my side cannot be told. A major minus point: I was told not to deliver, but to pick up. The sandwiches were old and tough.

I discovered upon arriving home that my order was incomplete, so I quickly cycled back with the receipt. Subsequently, I had to argue with the owner in the shop about the missing container of cucumber, which was clearly listed as an extra on the receipt and had actually been paid for. A bit of a shame, because in the meantime, my food was getting cold at home…

Yesterday (March 27, 2026) we bought 2 satay sandwiches here to take away, something we do often. Yesterday, we suddenly had to pay FIVE EUROS extra because the items had to be packed separately?!?!? When we asked "why," a very uninterested employee told us: "that's just how it works...” These sandwiches are really delicious, but this business model (€5.00 for 2 plastic containers) is a bit excessive. These could very well have been our last sandwiches at Rini's.

Fantastic food, I used to come here almost every week. Went again yesterday and forgot how good it was. Had the spicy chicken and the shrimp and long beans sandwich! Both were delicious!

I recently tried Rini for the first time. Unfortunately, I thought it was truly the worst roti I've ever had (and I lived in Rotterdam for a long time). The potato was practically mashed, with a few stray string beans. The chicken thigh was more like "pulled chicken," which isn't necessarily a bad choice, and it might actually be a way to retain more marinade/sauce, but that brings me to the biggest problem with this roti: there was hardly any, or none at all, and it consisted mainly of a bit of chicken fat. The sambal was watery ground madame jeanette, with no other aromas to be found. And: 16 euros, not an egg. A very plain, dry roti overall, and no taste sensation I always look forward to. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

I was looking for a Surinamese restaurant and found this one via Google. A chicken curry sandwich, a cod sandwich, and a meat sausage. All three were excellent and delicious. The pickled vegetables were also good. The sandwiches were well filled.

We regularly order something delicious from our neighbor. So far, we've been very satisfied with the dishes. I don't understand the negative reviews either, because all the dishes are homemade, and you can taste it. In my opinion, one of the better Surinamese restaurants. The atmosphere isn't relevant, since I enjoy eating it at home.

Highly inadvisable; I became very ill the next day. We ordered food and ate together with my mother. Rini's meal is actually the only thing we ate together, so it couldn't have been anything else since we both had the same symptoms. When calling the restaurant to report this, we were brushed off with the explanation that it couldn't have been their food, because we were the only ones with symptoms... There was no apology or any form of understanding to be had. In summary: terrible food that makes you sick and ridiculous service. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Horrible experience with this family. I ordered three hot chicken sandwiches and one iced tea from them (see attachments). Initially, they forgot to bring the drinks. When I called about it, they asked me, "Do we still need to bring those?" I thought that was a strange question, of course! But that wasn't even the worst part... When I took a bite of my sandwich, I noticed there were no cucumbers or onions on it. When I called about it, they hung up without clearly saying whether they were going to fix it. When the delivery driver (the owner's son) brought the drinks, I asked what they could do with the sandwich. I wanted to return the sandwich, so I hadn't eaten it and let it get cold. The delivery driver then told me he couldn't do anything and that it was my fault. We ended up arguing because I wanted at least a small compensation (a can of drink or something). He eventually walked away without offering any compensation. He waved his arm in the air and started yelling "jajajaja!" I've always treated him with respect. When I called the owner to say his son was being disrespectful to me (walking away and waving his arm), the owner started cursing at me. "Don't order from them next time," and then he hung up. Good advice: don't order from them!👍🏽

They gave me 5 mini shrimps in a 30cm shrimp sandwich, when i confronted them of the robbery they said i’m delusional. Disgusting staff and poor customer service.

We wanted to eat something there today for the four-day event. We had two chicken curry dishes and a menu with fries and a chicken sandwich. It was absolutely disgusting! The potatoes were overcooked with long beans and tasteless. The chicken was dripping with grease and smelled awful. We left it after a few bites. We'll be driving to Den Bosch from now on, it's 10000000x better!!!!!

This kind of behavior drives loyal customers away like crazy. You have lost me for good in any case. And for those who read this: there are two other Surinamese tokos in Nijmegen that do understand what hospitality and respect mean. Go there, because this restaurant does not deserve a cent from me anymore – and certainly not a recommendation. A big fail.

Today we placed an order with the company Rini's. I found a piece of plastic in the roti roll and in the roti chicken leg. I called the company by phone because I wanted to draw their attention to this. I then got a shouting boss on the phone who didn't believe me, even though I've been a regular customer for four years and have always been satisfied with their products. I then politely hung up and called back later to ask for a solution, because I think it would be better to communicate this directly to them. Unfortunately, the owner became even angrier and agreed to support his product and not believe it and refused to come up with a solution. The gentleman could only communicate in a verbally aggressive manner and I am very disappointed in this way of communication. Attached are the photos of the plastic. My request is to get my money back; because I have now received products with plastic. Unfortunately, the company refuses to come up with a solution. Deeply disappointed, in my opinion you cannot call that customer friendliness.

Best Surinamese food in Nijmegen and surroundings! We have now eaten for the second time. Ordered first time, picked up second time. Food was delicious both times. Delivery took some time, but it was more than worth it. Large portions. Friendly staff. Possibly eat on site; both inside and on the terrace. Order via your own website, by walking in or calling in advance. Debit card payment possible in the store. Paid parking a short distance away.

Delicious Bara Hot Chicken, it took a while before it arrived, but the sandwich was wonderfully soft and the chicken was deliciously spicy (but not too spicy) full of flavor, highly recommended!!

We had ordered Kip Saté and Gebraden Kipboud and received an atypical Surinamese meal. The Kip Saté in particular was barely edible. The chicken was not served on skewers but was on the nasi in a slimy peanut sauce and had the consistency of pulled pork. When asked why he didn't serve the meat, which is usually grilled on skewers, in its original form on a skewer, the employee present replied that you couldn't eat the skewer. However, he offered to pack the almost inedible food to take away, which we politely declined. During our numerous stays in Suriname, but also in Surinamese restaurants in the Netherlands, we have never been served such bad food.

Not a traditional Surinamese. Prices on the high side. Two sandwiches and two cans of soft drinks for €19.50!!! Chicken is fluffed / pulled chicken and dry. No thickened curry sauce or anything on the side, just dry fluffed chicken in curry flavor with a few thick slices of cucumber. Also dry/dark/old pieces of chicken in it. All in all very disappointing and not worth repeating for me.

23.15 for a vegetarian saoto with rice and nasi with chicken. Nasi was tasteless except for the salty taste, chicken didn't even resemble meat, more like leftovers from a soup chicken. Also the long beans were mixed with green beans. Very small portion for 15.25. Saoto soup was a shallow soup plate with tasteless broth filled with chopsticks from the chip bags of the supermarket instead of real fries, some celery was too much to ask for. Rice was hard, even fresh rice was too much to ask for.

I ordered via home delivery. This was delivered on time and neatly packaged. I had Roti curry chicken breast and a Bara. The Roti plate was perfectly fine. The roti itself... spicy and very little taste. The same goes for the potatoes and green beans. The Bara was tasty. Sadly, there won't be a next time for me.

I entered the shop for the first time and there was a friendly, nice boy behind the counter who helped me. I ordered a hot chicken sandwich and it was ready with just two blinks.
