We had an excellent and pleasant dinner for four. The service was cheerful and helpful when needed. The atmosphere was great with an outside view of the Witte Singel and an inside view of the activity in the kitchen and the oven powered by burning wood. The food was even better than the service and atmosphere: excellent pizza's (two times Tonno alla puttanesca, two times Nduja and gorgonzola with extra salami, all four of great taste). To accompany the pizza we opted for the full-bodied Primitivo wine (from the Puglia region in the south of Italy, where incidentally two of us met for the first time) and one (non-alcoholic) refreshing Bloesem Power lemonade. Since the pizzas were quite sizeable (precisely the right size actually), for dessert we settled for two Gelato bambino ice creams and two Gelato al pistacchio, the latter with the unusual and surprisingly tasty addition of salt and olive oil! We left the restaurant satisfied and in good spirits.

The best pizzas in Leiden. Delicious base. Dough with a great flavor. Thin, crispy, and airy crust. Topped with well-balanced flavors. Well-topped (but not too much, which can make the dough soft). I had the Caprese Pizza. Truly delicious. Excellent value for money. Friendly and welcoming staff! The patio on the Herenstraat side is a bit less appealing. Inside, it's atmospheric and cozy. I'll definitely be back!

Cozy neighborhood restaurant, friendly staff, and delicious food! The new desserts are also truly delicious.

If you have kids between 2-12, this place is a gem in the city. We come here monthly (if not more often), and the kids always have a great time. We also venture out after a run around the singel or just on a hot day, for an apperol and a lovely pizza slice. The oven is a huge vibe and really makes a difference!

Always a relaxed atmosphere with great service, and pizza as it should be: traditional ingredients and not too much cheese or grease dripping on top. It's fun to discover the variety in the pizza of the month.

The food was fantastic. The best pizzas in Leiden and the surrounding area. The rest of the menu also looked excellent. The staff was super friendly. The terrace even caught the last rays of sunshine. I've eaten there many years now because they're truly fantastic. I'll keep coming back.

Insanely delicious pizzas with a super thin base and crispy crust. We love coming here often, and it's perfect for us that we're out the door within an hour. If you want to linger, that's certainly possible. I do miss one thing: main course salads, as we like to share a pizza and salad. But that doesn't detract from the excellent menu and super friendly service.

Delicious pizzas and desserts, reasonable prices, a simple menu, yet pure and original, and everything you order is so delicious! The warm olives and nuts as a starter were a real surprise for us. My favorite dessert is definitely the pistachio ice cream! We've never been disappointed here. It's our regular date spot :)

Almost every Tuesday we have pizza before heading to the movies. It's a weekly treat, thanks in part to the enthusiastic staff, the delicious pizza with a crispy, thin crust, and the always cozy atmosphere. Whether we sit inside or outside. We hope to enjoy this "tradition" of movies and pizza for a long time to come.

We always have a wonderful meal at Pizzabakkers. This isn't just because of their delicious, original pizzas, but also because of the atmosphere the staff creates. We love to sit near the oven to see the artisanal baking process up close. It's a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere.

Great spot for pizza, lots of options and friendly staff. Especially love their film and pizza deal on Tuesdays, although the choice of pizzas is restricted. Perfect when you can sit outside!

We came for a date and enjoyed the experience. The staff was accommodating and warm. They guided us through the (english) menu and recommended the pizza of the month; which was delicious. On a nice sunny day the front outdoor tables are lovely.

We had a nice experience at De Pizzabakkers! Everything ran smoothly. We had booked a table in advance and were given the option to sit outside, which was perfect for the weather. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and impressively fast. Our waitress was especially helpful, offering great recommendations that really paid off. We tried a few of the pizzas, and they were absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients, great crust, and full of flavor. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Best Pizza in Town, A pizza where everything is just right. Top ingredients, pure taste on your tongue! An incredibly delicious salami with fennel for my wife and a Coppa d'Abruzzo for me. No trace of burning but everything was beautifully cooked with a perfect texture. The dolce (in our case Tiramisu) is rare. After coffee from Buscaglione, what more could one wish for? A lovely relaxed atmosphere that we enjoyed and will definitely come back.

Best Pizza in Town, Een pizza waar alles gewoon aan klopt. Top ingrediënten puur smaak op je tong! Voor mijn vrouw een ongekend lekkere salami met venkel en voor mij een Coppa d’Abruzzo. Geen spoortje van een verbranding maar alles heel mooi gaar met een perfecte textuur. De dolce (in ons geval Tiramisu) zeldzaam goed. Koffie na van Buscaglione wat kan een mens zich meer wensen Een heerlijke ongedwongen sfeer waar wij hebben genoten en zeker terug komen.

Great pizza, best I’ve found in Leiden

When you come to pick up pizza; they easily make you wait 30 minutes. While you just agreed on a time. 35 euros for such service is a shame.

De beste pizza’s van Leiden. Heerlijke bodem en mooie ingrediënten als topping. Vriendelijke en attente bediening. De huisgemaakte limoncello (desgewenst in een Scroppino verwerkt) is een aanrader. Bovendien een gezellig plekje aan de singel.

The pizzas were delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. The employees are very polite and caring. I also liked that there were vegan and vegetarian signs on the menu. It would be nice if there was a non-alcoholic version of tiramisu.

I love this place! We ordered the burrata and the piccante e gorgonzola pizza and they were both amazing! The pizza felt so fresh, balanced and delicious, one of the best I've had. The service was also great, the waitress was super kind and very quick with our order. We'll definitely come back for more.

Pizza Caponata besteld. Geen caponata te bekennen op de pizza. Op navraag bij bediening: de pizza is gemarineerd in caponata. Toen ik erop wees dat op de kaart staat caponata, gaf bediening toe, dat dit inderdaad misleidend is. De bediening is top en de pizza was redelijk, maar het was zeker geen caponata pizza. De ijsthee was helaas te zoet. Helaas, maar voor mij geen terugkeer. Als je iets op de kaart zet, moet je dat als restaurant ook waarmaken.

Delicious three course meal! The service was very friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. The food was also very tasty!

Food was good - as it was the last four times I have been here - but this one evening (07-10-24) the service was very odd and just left quite a bad taste. We waited just under an hour between ordering and the food arriving - which is not a problem; it happens, and was explained that there's delays because of a lot of (delivery?) orders at once. I work in Horeca too; its not any one person's fault - and we said as much. Then the order came wrong; again, it happens, and is not a big deal; (even though we talked about the options for a few minutes to make some veggie-based ajustments, so was explained multiple times). But the waitress' response was 'ah'. No, apology or basic courtesy. Just 'ah - do you want to see the dessert card'? Then, we overheard that the table next to us was offered free dessert as compensation for the (just under an hour) wait - they arrived and ordered slightly after us. No such offer for us, though, despite being the only other ones there, ordering first, and being entirely in earshot. Then when we tried to pay, she made sure the other waitress paid with us, and seemed to stared at us as we left (can't confirm this but seemed like it). I have absolutely no idea what we did to offend the waitress so much so as to treat us so differently to the table next to us - we made zero complaints and are both very polite by nature - but out of principle it's just not very nice at all. Maybe classic tip-seeking since the other table was obviously older? I have no idea, but its a real shame, as this used to be my go-to spot to catch up with friends over nice food :(

What a grave pizza joint. Got a pizza twice that wasn't good. 1st wrong topping. I had regular salami, not salami with fennel, so back. Answer yes, we no longer have regular salami. Then you say that at the table. 2nd pizza then please ham. Barely any cheese and a lot of sauce and rock hard (black). Oh yes, and they don't have Coke Zero because that's not Italian. Management does not speak Dutch but English. Just shoot me!!

I recently picked up a Pizza Da Noi from De Pizzabakkers, and it was delicious! The combination of paprika cream sauce, mozzarella, roasted bell peppers, salsiccia, and Parmesan created a rich and flavorful pizza. I opted for extra 'nduja, which added the perfect spicy kick. The thin, crispy crust completed the experience, and even though I took it away, it stayed wonderfully fresh and crunchy. The flavors were well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. De Pizzabakkers truly offers an authentic pizza experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Spontaneously we decided to have a nice pizza. This time not to the established order, but this time slightly different. We chose the Pizza Bakers on the Herenstraat in Leiden. The online reservation was made in no time and so after a few hours we were eating delicious pizza. We received a friendly welcome and picked a nice spot. The Italian atmosphere is great and there are no regular Coke or other soft drinks here, but Italian drinks on the menu such as Limonata. Friendly and quick service, certainly not pushy, but clearly present. The pizza became the Tartufo, a pizza with egg, ham, mozzarella and truffle sauce as the main ingredients. Something different than the standard pizza. We had a delicious meal in a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a repeat to come and eat another non-standard pizza.

Loved it! These folks manage to make some superb pizza’s. Nice thin crust, both classic and modern toppings, very tasty ingredients. Very kid friendly, for us a bonus but for some perhaps a turnoff. Nice touch was that they gave the kids some dough to play with. Worked like a charm to keep them occupied until dinner was ready.

Nice thin crust pizzas for good prices. The selection of (homemade) drinks is quite good. The staff did forget a pizza and a drink from our order, but got them to us asap.

The prosciutto was top, the dough at a perfect thickness, and the panacotta and tiramisu were heaven! I don't like crammed spaces, waiters that run between the tables, orders that are delayed, so I was so grateful to find Pizzabakkers! Highly recommended!

Treated shamefully. Made a reservation more than 3 weeks in advance for 3 people. We were assigned a table that could not even fit 2 pizzas. The "reserved" sign was missing. On others (larger tables set for 2 people) the sign was there. No effort was made to resolve this. In fact, we were completely ignored.

Ge-wel-dige pizza! Heerlijk gegeten, en zeer vriendelijke bediening die je goed adviseert. Lekkere drankjes, Italiaanse gingerbeer, biertjes en wijntjes!

Het eten was minder goed dan de vorige keren. De pizza was niet luchtig als de vorige keer. De huis rose is niet best. Het personeel is vriendelijk en vlot.

As a lover of genuine Italian foods, and many stays all over Italia since 1980, I can say this is the most authentic Roman style pizza I have found in any other country. Hard to believe this is a chain restaurant. From the precise Roman pizza dough, to the Nduja spicy sausage from Calabria, to the home-made Limoncello and beers -- una vera esperienza Romana!! Many authentic surprises here; including one of the best wood-fired Italian pizza ovens made today. Specialized ingredients, unique salads, Buffata, authentic panna cotta... I always expect an Italian Nona to come out from the kitchen!

This is the best place to get pizza in Leiden! There’s so many different fresh toppings and the homemade tiramisu might also be one of the best I’ve ever had. Located in a nice neighborhood and I like how the restaurant has a homey feel to it. Staff is very friendly and recommended us the pizza Da Noi, which I can’t seem to forget, so will be back very soon!

Sinds tijden niet zo'n lekkere pizza gegeten, echt top. Dun belegd zodat je niet allleen een dikke plak kaas proeft, daardoor absoluut italiaanse smaak. Lekker knapperig maar wel nog voldoende deeg. Lekker sfeertje ... (als we dan toch nog moeten zeuren...kwaliteit peper olie mag wat hoger) 🤗
