I drove quite a distance specifically to De Pollepel because Google indicated they were open. Once I arrived on Saturday, it turned out the place was simply closed. That is incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of my time and fuel. If you are closed, make sure the opening hours on Google are correct. Customers must be able to rely on the information available online. Very disappointing.

Very friendly staff at the chip shop. There is a nice, village-like atmosphere, the fries are tasty, the snacks are good, and they also have a freezer with various ice creams. All in all, just very good.

It has turned out terribly bad, especially when the owner isn't around. The fries are way too hard, meaning you have to throw away a quarter of them. The ordered goulash was missing. The snacks are dripping with grease.

Don't know what was wrong with your fries today, May 7, 2026. They were inedible, very dark brown. Went straight into the bin. Such a shame.

I sent a school group of 55 people to De Pollepel. The preparation leading up to the group's visit was excellent, with very good communication. Anne even offered to deliver the meals nearby—thank you so much! The group of high school students was delighted, especially with the homemade fresh fries. A wonderful experience of classic Dutch street food, with excellent service! Highly recommended!

Simply amazing, top-notch chip shop.

Normally a weekly regular customer, ordered fries with snacks for the past 2 weeks. Half of the fries were full with a lot of hard crusts; we had to throw half of them away. It's a shame Olaf wasn't there those two times, that was very noticeable!

Nothing more to do, a chip shop as it should be. The snack bar at our holiday park was closed, so this was the closest one. Friendly staff (3 large fries is enough for 6 people, sir), delicious sauerkraut, good snacks, and really tasty fries!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food was disappointing. The fries were very greasy, and the grease was visibly floating in the container, which wasn't very appetizing. The prices are on the high side, especially considering the quality. The portions are large, but for me, that doesn't make up for the greasy food.

We visited De La Plêpel today, known for its excellent fries... But we were very disappointed. The medium fries, "Patje Oorlog," had mayo, curry, and peanut sauce mixed together. One big sauce... the fries were limp and unappetizing. The hamburger also had a mountain of sauce and all the vegetables were "refrigerator cold," meaning the hamburger was practically cold when we got home. Such a shame...

Weekend getaway with the family! We got fries and snacks for 17 people here. When the owner heard we were away for the weekend, he threw in four free containers of sauerkraut – which tasted delicious! Kudos for the super-friendly, fast, and excellent service. Highly recommended!

We spent a weekend in Maastricht, and yes, Sunday is fries day at home, so here too. We searched for a nearby cafeteria and found this one. Fries and a snack for 6 people. Everything was neatly packed and ready to go, without any questions asked. A Brabants Houdoe was no problem. The food was delicious. Tasty fries that everyone enjoyed.

I don't understand why most people consider this a good chip shop. Why does it have so little flavor? The last two times I got fries and snacks there, but the last time they were burnt, and the snacks were dry. The lady behind the counter should take a course. The average fries in Maastricht are below par. I'd rather go across the border.

Unfortunately, most of the restaurants were fully booked on the evening we arrived and so we had to resort to a snack bar. Ketchup and mayo were the tastiest. Because everything is thrown into the deep fryer, the taste is relatively identical. I didn't see any salads. Wasn't really mine. Addition after the owner's answer: I ate everything, the young people at the counter were very friendly and I know it's a tough job. The hamburger meat (patty) was cooked in the deep fryer, which I don't think was bad, but unfortunately it was crispy and dry. The fries, more like potato leftovers, and there are very good fries manufacturers in the Netherlands, completely fried, so crispy on the outside and inside. Taste: like fat, not like potatoes at all. The extractor ventilation only works partially. Jacket smelled like grease at home. The young people at the counter were very friendly. Dear Sir, even if you offer food cheaply, I expect it to be prepared in such a way that I can tell a difference in taste between fries, meat and bread. That wasn't the case. My family just had delicious fries with lots of crisps here. One of the friendly employees not only gave us too many fries but an accidentally broken croquette to take home for free. An accessible, good chip shop where we will get our snack from now on!! PS: Belgian mayonnaise and fried servola is definitely an extra BONUS

Love the fries. And the service is always friendly. But once upon a time, late in the evening, they were already cleaning up at half past 11. Understandable. A girl comes through from behind and says 'these three snacks have fallen on the floor. Throw away? No, says the other lady, just put them aside' look at it like this!!!!!! Well that rubbed me the wrong way. I thought I wasn't hearing well. Also had a snack with onions and such...so what should I think about this?

Olaf makes his own fries from real potatoes, so not frozen, and you can taste that. Portions are really bigger than those of our competitors. Sauces are delicious. Snacks are always well baked. In short, the best among chip shops in Maastricht.
