Service is great, servers are charismatic and friendly. However the food is quite bad. Part of my burger tasted and smelled like fish, I'm guessing they used the same grill? Not sure, but I couldn't finish it. For the price it's not worth it. But if you're going for the vibes and to drink then it's a good time.

I ask for a smoothy and an ice coffe, they took 25 mins and when I move tho the next restaurant they approached to me in very bad actitud of service and say you have to pay.. pay what ? I didn't even receive the drinks... actitud of service big 0.

Highly recommended! We had, among other things, one hamburger with delicious meat—not such a tough piece as at McDonald's—Cheddar cheese, and a fried egg on top. Delicious fries and... very friendly service.

The opening hours are until 10 PM, but the kitchen closes at 8 PM. I find that quite limiting.

Ordering: the wine (unfortunately we don't have it), a meat dish (unfortunately we don't have it). With the bruschetta, we ask for olive oil (we don't have it). After the starter, we are asked if we want the main course served already... which we hadn't even ordered yet. Worse service is almost impossible. The food itself was OK.

This was truly one of our favorite restaurants where we loved to go. The food is really good, and the portions are good too. It is a beautiful restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere, especially on the terrace. However, we have been a bit put off the last few times. First of all, when we were sitting in the tucked-away space at the back of the establishment with a party of 8 people, we were forgotten. We didn't feel like getting up (which we shouldn't have to do anyway), so we called the restaurant to ask if someone could come. The second time, we were sternly told that we weren't allowed to do that anymore. When we complained about being forgotten, it was brushed aside. It just wasn't a pleasant evening this way. When we once spontaneously asked at 8:00 PM on a Saturday after a full day of work if they still had a table for three people, we were nonchalantly told that the kitchen was already closed. How is that even possible... on a Saturday night? From now on, we are going to the competitor across the street for dinner and will just stick to drinks at De Vrienden van De Burgemeester. Shame!

Nice place. Prices are steep but okay. We come here every two months with a group of friends. But Coke in a 200ml bottle? That whining about taking a few extra cents in margin? We like to leave a generous tip, but this petty behavior isn't about the guest, it's about their own wallets. We are going somewhere else.

I had a chicken pokebowl. I found the chicken a bit disappointing in terms of taste, but otherwise it was fine and the coffee is incredibly delicious!

The food was delicious. The lady who served us was friendly. The atmosphere was good, not noisy, which allowed us to have a nice chat. Unfortunately, that was ruined for us when a staff member asked if we wanted to move to another table in a different room so she could start cleaning. We were asked this well over 2.5 hours (!) before closing time. And we hadn't ordered dessert yet. I have never experienced anything like this before, and personally, I found it ridiculous and even rude. She started cleaning, and when I stood up, I indicated that I didn't like it, to which she didn't even have the decency to look me in the eye when she spoke back and said that if we had said no, then that meant no, and we could have stayed seated. Well, then you're certainly not at ease anymore when everything around you is being cleaned up. I find this a strange way of working, which fortunately was unknown to me until yesterday. To end on a positive note, besides the food, the cocktails and the spicy chai latte were delicious!

I visited for my birthday lunch and overall had a positive experience. The food was good and enjoyable. However, the service could definitely be improved. We had to wait quite a long time just to place our order, and eventually had to ask someone who was on their break to find a waiter for us. With more attentive service, this would have been a much better experience.

Absolutely fantastic, friendly staff and delicious food. The only downside was that people kept coming in through the door that indicated the other entrance should be used, which sometimes caused a very cold atmosphere. I wonder why they didn't lock the door.

We decided last minute to have dinner here that afternoon with four adults and three children. There was plenty of seating, friendly and attentive staff, and a wide selection on the menu. The restaurant was well-decorated and atmospheric, and the service was fast. Highly recommended, and I would definitely eat there again if I had the choice!

Food is nice, we always go for rhe breakfast, they never complain on my daughter not wanting to sit sometimes and there are very nice young people attending. The place inside is very quiet, but they have a nice terrace for in the summer, nicer when looking for a nice time ans cocktails with friends

We had another wonderful meal with the mayor's friends in Zoetermeer. The service is always good too. They repeat your order and ask if they can bring the next course. The only thing that could be better, but that's the case in almost every restaurant, is that you only get a spoon with dessert. We always appreciate it if there's a small fork and/or knife as well. You have to hold your ice cream down with something on that flat plate. And a cake is often more enjoyable with a fork.

What a fantastic carpaccio and a delicious steak, just the way it should be. I had a fantastic evening with my wonderful colleagues.

Went there with 5 people. Fries were cold, Brussels sprouts were cold and undercooked. No sauce with the venison steak. The tenderloin was roughly chopped, thrown in a pile, and wasn't even warm. I'll never go back.

We booked a high tea for two. It was very disappointing. Six very coarse sandwiches; we each ate one, which was actually enough for the entire afternoon. The hot snacks were decent, but the sweet treats were limp. One cake had been cut in half, making it look like two. The whipped cream? It was from a can, so it was limp. The service was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone!

Fantastic restaurant. We've been here several times. Last time, for my parents' wedding anniversary (37 years), the table was decorated and there was a lovely congratulatory sign. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

We had a pleasant and delicious meal. One of the staff members (who brought the food) was quietly grumpy. The first time, the food was lukewarm, and when we sent it back, they gave us a stupid comment about it having just come off the grill. Maybe, but it was lukewarm... I couldn't apologize when we got back and didn't even look at us. Luckily, the other regular waitress made up for it!!! That other waitress could ruin it for everyone; I'd really tell her off for treating customers like that!

Last Saturday evening, we had a delicious meal for our (twin) sons' birthday. They reserved a lovely table for us and even hung up streamers (so thoughtful!). The service was truly fantastic, despite the crowd; it ran like clockwork—kudos! The food was exquisite, and our boys were even surprised with a special ice cream treat at the end of the evening. The price-quality ratio is absolutely perfect, whether you're going for lunch or dinner. De Vrienden is highly recommended.

The staff was barely friendly and wore dirty clothes. The floor was also filthy. I'd been there before and it was better, but I didn't get a good impression today.

I will definitely return. The food was served super fast, everything was hot, and the portions were large. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and provided the menu in English. I specifically ordered shrimp piri-piri, and the number of shrimp was generous. I would definitely recommend it.

They will not give you free tap water. Gierige Nederlanders. And they’re not even ashamed of it. Just go away or you’ll have to pay extra to stay hydrated. More specifically: The burger was tiny, for 22 euros I’ve had so much better in my life. The patty was thick and dry and hard, not pure minced beef meat but very much like a factory-made mish-mash of who-knows-what. The onion soup was average, on the lower side, not even oven melted cheese on top. Desserts for minimum 11 euros each, I don’t think it’s a good address. The fact that they specify on the toilet door ‘0,90 € to use our toilets if you’re not a customer’ says it all. They’re stingy. I told you: just go away.

The service is consistently good. Every server neatly hands the glass with the logo to each guest, and they're friendly and quick. It's truly wonderful to see that again. The food was also excellent, and the price was good too.

Ordered one coffee and one latte. The coffee was very weak and undrinkable. The latte was served in a small glass with watery milk. Presentation-wise, it was a disappointment. When we went to pay, we complained about the weak coffee. The response we got was, "We hear this often, I think the machine is broken." Then the waitress walked away. What a terrible way to handle a complaint!

Burger isn't as tasty as the chicken. Chicken soup was a bit boring. Fries are crispy but not special. Ok enough

I'm not much of a whiner, so I rarely leave a bad review, but 15 euros for the worst Club Sandwich of my life—I have to get that out there... - Limp bread (this is almost always toasted with a Club Sandwich), even though the quality of the bread was decent. - Ice-cold, dry, tasteless, thick chunks of tough chicken straight from the fridge. The menu says "fried chicken," so you're implying hot chicken. If you say "fried egg" or "fried salmon," you expect something warm. Anyway, the temperature doesn't really matter because it wasn't tasty anyway. - Ice-cold boiled egg on top, a thick ball only in the middle. - Almost no sauce to be seen. - Limp, cold bacon – this should also be crispy in a Club Sandwich. - The chips were OK, but they probably don't make them themselves. - All the toppings were crammed into a ball in the middle of the bread, too much in the middle, no topping on the edges, and the small amount of sauce only in the middle. So half the time I was just chewing dry, limp bread. - The satay skewer was pierced through the cut edge of one half of the bread, instead of the middle, so everything fell apart with the first bite. The restaurant looks nice, and the staff regularly asks if you want another drink, so that's okay. I'm still giving the food two stars because I've sometimes had a decent burger or tear-a-side bread here. However, you should stay far away from that Club Sandwich.

We had a very nice meal here, the service was friendly and the speed was great.

The four of us dined there, and the appetizers were fine. Until the main course arrived: tenderloin—you can't usually mess that up, but here you can. It looked like it had been cooked in the oven, with no flavor. The response to our comment that the meat wasn't cooked very well was "oh." And that was that. So much for the service.

It would be nice if the menu changed; I've been coming here for years, but it's always the same. The food quality is average. The staff is very friendly. The terrace is also good; you can enter the restaurant with a wheelchair, but there's no wheelchair-accessible toilet. I say go and see for yourself. The sticker on the window announcing they're restaurant of the year has been there for years, so take it off.

What a disappointing experience we had here tonight. The schnitzel didn't even resemble a schnitzel; it was too dry, too thick, and had too much fat on the inside. The applesauce that came with it was so small it fit in a disposable mayonnaise container and was gone after two bites. The portion of fries also seemed like a child's portion and I don't consider it filling for an adult. There was a tense atmosphere among the staff, and I didn't see a smile on any of their faces. I didn't feel welcome, there was no pleasant atmosphere, and there's no reason to ever come back here.

Uiensoep. Niet lekker, een soort zompig half hamburger broodje van een fast food restaurant met gesmolten kaas, leek wel kaugum. Waarom niet lekker een stuk knapperig stokbrood met gegratineerde kaas?! De kok begrijpt het niet, het was in 1 woord smakeloos. Tegen de serveerster gezegd dat het echt totaal niet lekker was want na een paar hapjes soep ging de hele soep weer terug naar de keuken, daar werd nauwelijks op gereageerd, er werd ook niet gevraagd of ik iets anders wilde en er is zelfs geen koffie of drankje aangeboden. Zondegeld. Toen kwamen de garnalen, helaas ook niet lekker. heb er 4 van weggekregen omdat ik die in het sausje van mn broer zn bord gedoopt had. Hij heeft er 1 geproefd en de laatste heb ik uitgespuugd. Bah. Eens maar nooit meer. Dus al met al een paar lepels uiensoep, 4 garnalen en een paar patatjes. Goddank heb ik nog een overheerlijke bruine bonensoep in mn koelkast staan. Nooit meer naar deze zaak. Ziet er gezellig uit maar daar is alles mee gezegd.

Niet goed ingekocht en 3 keuze niet op voorraad en ook ook tegemoet in de afrekening. En prijs. Was geen leuke ervaring en terreurstellend.

We kwamen hier voor de lunch maar wat was dat een tegenvaller én teleurstellend. Het stond in no time op tafel, oud brood, (huisgemaakte??)gehaktbal was al doormidden gesneden en was vreselijk droog! De ander had biefstukpuntjes, ook op oud brood en heel slecht gebakken en van slechte kwaliteit (spiertjes, zeen) naar de taugé moest je zoeken en het gerecht had weinig smaak, is ook maar voor de helft opgegeten! Wat een teleurstellende lunch en ook de bediening viel erg tegen. Jammer, volgende keer een deurtje verder want er is genoeg keus op het plein!!

We visited De Vrienden van de Burgemeester and was initially excited because the food looked very appetizing. I ordered the steak, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The first one I received was cold and extremely tough—like rubber—and it took a lot of effort to chew. I asked one of the staff if it could be replaced, and he was very kind and helpful, which I appreciated.The second steak took a while to arrive and came with the wrong sauce, but I didn’t want to complain further as I was quite hungry. Thankfully, the replacement was tender and finally enjoyable.The ambience is very chill and relaxed, which I liked, and the service was okay, but overall the food needs improvement, especially for something as simple and classic as steak.

Not really special. We had the plate ready for us within 10 minutes of ordering... Tournedos and the steak were medium but tough and poorly cooked, the tournedos were swimming in a kind of Bali sauce.... The steak was too dry. Mediocre plate...and the cowl salad was so little that it was gone in one bite. We didn't complain, you need serious listeners for that... it didn't feel that way here... Service is fast, but asking for the bill could be more enthusiastic and attentive, it took a very long time... next time just walk away? Troela from the service finds keeping her nails more interesting. Another dessert and/or coffee? No, nevermind, we'll skip that... Realm? Where?

we vonden het erg matig. Niet alles van de menukaart was beschikbaar, maar dat werd pas verteld bij het opnemen van de bestelling. Een bepaalde steak was er niet, koffie compleet was er niet, de zeetong zou met roseval aardappels en asperges opgediend worden, maar kwam met patat. Dat werd ook niet verteld. Toen ik er wat van zei, bleek het niet geleverd te zijn. U krijgt 2 koffie van het huis. Op de rekening stond maar 1 koffie niet gerekend. Rommelig dus.
