De Zeerover in Zandvoort Zuid

There were two of us there, each having a dish. The salad with chicken, bacon, and honey mustard sauce (open the menu, bottom right:)) was truly excellent, a definite recommendation. The salad also included sprouts, very juicy tomatoes, radishes, cucumber, and bell peppers. The whole thing forms a tower, but it's very manageable, especially if you're really hungry. It came with two dark breads, soft with a good edible crust and butter, which were also excellent. The onion soup was spicy, also very good, although there was only a small piece of cheese crust floating around in it, which wasn't too bad. This was also served with the aforementioned thick slices of bread. The menu is available in Dutch and English, but you can also get a German translation using the QR code on the same menu. The paper inserts are wonderful for coloring on the front and back, and colored pencils and sharpeners are available at the table. Outside, all the shady spots were full, so we were a bit hesitant to go inside, but it's well-air-conditioned and extremely pleasant. After our drinks (sparkling ice tea and Coke Zero, both wonderful), we had to wait at least 15 minutes. I got a new meal because the lemon was rotten. I was surprised. Friendly and helpful staff. What I noticed was that everyone spoke German, and I thought that was great. It was fish and chips. It was absolutely delicious, even though I don't usually eat fish in the summer. The fish was very fresh, and the chips were fresh too.

I ordered a delicious smoked chicken sandwich, it was very good and the food was delicious. Friendly service. Good value for money.

The view is fantastic, the staff is extremely friendly. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are reasonable for the quality. We ate here twice during our stay because we enjoyed the food so much. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to Zandvoort.

All the positive reviews are 100% accurate, except for the one negative one, which I can't understand for the life of me. The service is super friendly and attentive. The ambiance and the view are first-class. We had fish and chips, pancakes with goat cheese, and the delicious spare rib; all three menus were amazing. Including drinks and tip, we paid €90. This won't be our last time 😉

My daughter and I enjoyed it so much that we visited the restaurant three times in a row. The staff were very friendly and served us quickly and efficiently. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is very good for what you get! Everything is very appealing and tasty. The vegan burger was excellent and the ribs were tender as butter. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, I can't confirm the positive impressions of the other guests. The staff was very "forgetful," not particularly qualified, and the food was a complete disaster. The fish & chips were more breadcrumbed than fish, and the sauces were some kind of industrial product. Furthermore, the salad wasn't fresh and already had brown spots. So, at €24 per portion, it's way too expensive... Classic tourist trap... If that's not enough to put you off, the food was a real bummer.

Sorry, but the service is absolutely terrible. We walked in, everything made a good impression, and the food looks great, at least from a distance. People who came after us were served immediately, while we sat around for about 15 minutes and then had to find the waiter ourselves. The waiter was a bit rude. Our actual server preferred to play on her phone. And the place wasn't full either. What a shame. No matter how good the food is, we won't be coming back. Addendum: Although our visit was a good two years ago, my wife and I just thought about the food at this place, and I realized I didn't really mention it in my review. The food was excellent; if we're ever in Zandvoort again, we'll give the place another chance. Simply because we remember the fried fish so fondly. If the service improves, I'll give it full stars.

We will never come here again. Had to wait half an hour before we were seen and could order drinks. Other guests arrived later and were helped earlier. Then waited +15 minutes to pass on food and another +30 minutes for our salads. Again, other guests arrived later, ordered later and got their hot food earlier. Were in Zandvoort for a long weekend and our son wanted to eat fish and chips. We ended up at the zeeover. Hadn't made a reservation and there was no table left. We could take it with us according to the employee. Wanted to order and another employee came by and said that a table had become available so great thinking along and good service. Food was brought to the table and was very good to eat. We had 2x fish and chips, pork tenderloin satay and a burger. All four of us had eaten well and there was a good atmosphere. Next Spartan race we will definitely eat there again.

So if I could I would give 10 stars!!!! We were so excited that we ate there no less than 3 times in our 4 days in Zandvoort. I have never eaten such a good veggie burger (homemade) and my mother was also very impressed with her spare ribs, the burger and the chicken sandwich. Price/performance great!!!! Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly service!!! If Zandvoort then definitely De Zeerover again!!!

A good place to get a real meal before 6 p.m., when most restaurants in Zandvoort open, even with a dog. The pancakes are really great, the sandwiches too and we saw fantastic hamburgers at the next table. The menu isn't huge, but there's a bit of everything, whether carnivore or vegetarian. With a view of the sea.

Even though almost all tables were occupied, we were greeted almost immediately upon arrival and assigned a seat. We were a bit apprehensive because of the bad reviews, but we were positively surprised. The service was attentive and attentive. The food was tasty and above all a lot of it. Unfortunately, our experience in this case was disappointing. Upon entering we were completely ignored by the staff; several employees walked past us without greeting us, except with a “sorry, I have to pass by…”. There seemed to be no structure or overview at all, and the staff clearly had no idea what they were doing. There was no manager to manage things, which made the service chaotic and slow. We saw several guests leave because they received little or no help. Meanwhile, some of the staff were eating themselves, while the place looked like complete chaos—dirty tables everywhere and a messy appearance. There is so much potential here, but without better management and a customer-oriented attitude it will be difficult to offer guests a pleasant experience. Hopefully something will be done about this, because this way we would not return anytime soon.

The weather was sunny so we sat on the terrace of De Zeerover. A cappuccino, coke zero and apple pie. The cappuccino and apple pie tasted good, but the whipped cream with the apple pie was nothing. A somewhat weak version of whipped cream. If you charge €7.00 for an apple pie, add good whipped cream and not from a spray can. Final bill was €21.00.

We had to wait a little longer for the food, but it was worth it. Super tasty.

Very busy due to an event, clearly not enough staff deployed. It took more than 35 minutes for food to arrive on the table after ordering, tables were not cleaned when one became available, toilets not clean with overflowing trash cans.. Service could really be better!

The ambience is great and you have a good view of the sea if you get the right seat. The burgers were served on a small board with some salad. The patties had a very artificial taste, which unfortunately wasn't great. Given the quantity, you'll feel full after a burger with a side of fries. The price-performance ratio is therefore very good.

Located on the beach promenade, overlooking the sea. We had dinner there about an hour before work at the end of our trip to Zandvoort. The ambience is very nice, the menu is manageable, which is also a good thing. However, the vegetarian options leave quite a bit to be desired; The veggie burger is suspiciously meaty and was nicely presented with delicious fries and an appetizing salad, but a better label would be appropriate here - "veggie" does not mean meat with vegetables and herbs.

We do not agree with the good ratings at all, for us it was just a tourist trap. Very bad spare ribs, I often eat spare ribs, but it has been a long time since I had such bad ribs. I think never in the Netherlands. Super hard meat, dry and tough, really not tasty. The fries are ready-made but OK. The salad was unfortunately just dry and bitter, without dressing or anything. Service wasn't really attentive but it was nice. Location is beautiful and it's nice that you can play with colors. But definitely not recommended for the food, burgers also look very bad and the prices are way too high for what you get. And what's with all those paper containers?

We weren't really happy here. We paid almost €90 for two portions of fried fish, water, a glass of wine and some bread with aioli. This is usury. The fish alone cost €23. That was the most expensive fried fish I've ever had. The service consisted of young people who were all very friendly and really tried hard. The ambience is “okay”. It is centrally located on the water. Unfortunately, there was a terrible plague of flies here, which was really annoying and quite unappetizing. After dinner we walked through the city and were very annoyed that we discovered the many great restaurants there too late. In any case, we wouldn't eat here again.

We have eaten there at least once on our vacation for years. Service is always friendly, food is delicious but unfortunately also very expensive. Even a pancake without everything costs 10 euros. For a Latte Machiato you pay €4.50. That's pretty steep. The country breads are a dream and the portion is more than enough.

Recommended is the home-made apple pie

Even though we arrived completely soaked after the Saturday of the Dutch GP, we were warmly welcomed at the Zeerover. We would have done well to reserve a table. The restaurant was full, mainly with F1 enthusiasts. Being wet shouldn't spoil the fun. A quick glance at the various tables next to us confirmed our suspicions that making a choice would be difficult. Everything (hamburgers, spareribs and skewers) looked delicious. After a sandwich with spread beforehand, we opted for the spare ribs, fish and chips, chicken satay and pork satay. All excellent dishes. It confirms the story. Better a limited menu with good dishes than an extensive menu with mediocre dishes. Have we nothing to note? Yes. We had to wait quite a long time for our food (the sight of people who came in later, but were able to eat earlier, is a shame) and the peanut sauce with the satay was on the thick side). These are minor comments in an otherwise excellent stay. All in all, I definitely recommend the Zeerover.

We've been coming to Zandvoort for years now and of course we can't miss a visit to De Zeerover! Whether pancakes, burgers, spare ribs or fish & chips, you can really eat everything from the menu! There really is something for everyone. The staff is always super friendly and in a good mood! In my opinion, the prices are also really okay for the location and the quality you get there!
