Restaurant Hugoos in Zandvoort Zuid

We asked for a table and then we were made to wait 40 minutes without a drink or anything.

Their welcome was really wonderful! They offered us a welcome juice and went around letting people taste the pizza. Everyone who served us was very kind. Amazing atmosphere

We had made a reservation and were able to sit down immediately upon arrival. The starter was served quickly. Then we had a truly long wait for the main course. We were about to leave, because waiting almost an hour and a half for your food is simply unacceptable. No one even came to say anything or explain anything. Only when they arrived did they apologize for the long wait, explaining that it was busy... which I actually thought wasn't so bad. I assume they were short-staffed, but if they were, they should have allowed fewer people to join us. We were practically over-hungry, so we skipped dessert. It's a beautiful and cozy café, the service is friendly, and the food itself was delicious, but the wait was a real letdown.

Good food. I was happily surprised. Highlights: escargot and blackened ribeye.
