We always stop by here whenever we go to Texel. But this was definitely the last time. Table sticky. Tea glass dirty. Tomato soup lukewarm and sour meatballs. The soup was served in a rusty little pot. Croquette lukewarm. When paying, the receipt showed 2.50 for an open kitchen. This was for an extra plate. All in all disappointing and not what it always used to be for us.

The place to be if you want to eat well in North Holland. We stopped at the beginning of our holiday and had such a good meal that we went back there for dinner on the way back. Good, large portions for a good price. The service is very friendly. The toilets are large and clean. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stop by here!

It was quite busy, but we were served quickly and didn't have to wait long for the food either.

Exactly what you look for in a roadside restaurant. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who regularly check to see if everything is to your liking. Fast service, because we are on the road after all. And delicious food. The atmosphere is very relaxed, rustic, and cozy. A perfect place to recharge your batteries for the rest of your journey. The farmer's schnitzel is highly recommended.

Ask to use the toilet, be ause petrol station next to it doesn"t have any. Waitress told me I need minimum to order coffee, in order to use the toilet. Better to pee behind the corner !!!

Delicious food, friendly service. The only criticism is that there are too few side dishes, or to put it another way, there are the same amount of side dishes whether you eat alone or in a group of three. For three people, the price-performance ratio simply isn't right anymore.

The senior clerk is really not cheerful

A somewhat dated interior. But very nice service, fast and friendly. And the food was delicious. For lunch, we chose the carpaccio with bread and the stir-fried chicken with bread. Very tasty and a bit too much, so we couldn't finish it all. There is plenty of parking here, which improves accessibility.

De Zingende Wielen is one of those authentic roadside restaurants where you immediately feel welcome. The service is incredibly friendly, hospitable, and genuinely involved. That makes the atmosphere very pleasant and relaxed. And the food? Delicious! Everything was flavorful and prepared with care. You can taste that attention is paid to both the food and the guests here. A lovely place with character, where hospitality is still truly a matter of course. We will definitely be back here again!

Food 3 stars because we didn't eat anything, but what I saw looked good! We will definitely eat at your place again :) Water bowl for the dog at the entrance, super sweet staff. There was even a moment of attention for our old Labrador who was lying stretched out a bit due to pain, but this was perfectly fine. Had a delicious cappuccino, perfect taste, nice milk foam. Cozy, old-fashioned pub atmosphere! A nice break if you are coming from Texel.

Everything is good at De Zingende Wielen. Fill up the car and then yourself. Coffee, tea, or a fried egg sandwich is well organized. There are no Persian rugs on the tables 🤔

Had a nice meal at a truckers' cafe during a walk. I chose a deluxe hamburger and my dining companion a meatball sandwich, both with a cappuccino.

First of all, the staff was very friendly. The food looked good and tasted quite good. The satay was tasty. The spareribs were a bit difficult to get off the bone. There were 3 gluten-free options, including 2 types of steak and the spareribs. The presentation of the food was good. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos.

Passing through today, we stopped by here. It had been about 40 years since we last ate here through work. We were warmly welcomed and had a pleasant conversation about the past and present. I heard that the egg dishes were a specialty, so I immediately ordered a farmer's omelet, as I definitely wanted to try that. And yes, it was no exaggeration: truly delicious and more than enough, highly recommended. We will certainly go there again.

A cozy chauffeur's restaurant that's been around for a long time. I used to go there as a child with my parents, my children, and now my grandchildren too. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Ample parking and a view of Wieringen. Highly recommended.

Not good, bad salad, green beans tasted like nothing. Mushrooms weren't cooked properly. Ordered dish was incomplete. Beetroot burger was tasty but too much bread. Too bad.

I can't comment on the food, as I didn't use it. However, as someone who was heavily pregnant, I just asked if I could use the restroom. I was allowed to. When I was done, I was thanked very much for the courtesy. But then I was told that if I didn't drink anything, I would have to pay €1. I certainly understand the concept of people who haven't consumed anything having to pay for the restroom. But making someone who is heavily pregnant pay a euro isn't very helpful. This is the first time this has happened to me.

Due to a staff shortage and a smaller menu, you would expect them to be able to bake a schnitzel, but this one came straight from the fryer. The fries were limp and it really didn't taste good.

A bit of faded glory, the terrace is untidy..

Last night (August 21, 2025) I was in the area for a condolence visit. Since I hadn't eaten yet, I drove past this restaurant. I decided to eat there. I was helped by a very friendly young lady, and I had a truly delicious meal. This restaurant is absolutely recommended. Kind regards from a KLM employee.

A simple restaurant where even locals go after work. The food is tasty, and the portions are decent. The oyster mushroom carpacio was particularly good. The service was very friendly.

Unfortunately, the nostalgic feeling didn't live up to our expectations. We waited an hour and a half before receiving our food, even though it wasn't busy when we ordered. People who arrived (much) later received their food first. The food itself wasn't anything special. The owner apologized for the inconvenience and offered a discount, hence the two stars.

Great stopover on the way to Texel, had a nice lunch

Ik kan me niet helemaal vinden in de negatieve recenties. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en hadden geluk dat er nog een tafeltje voor vier vrij was. Het interieur is inderdaad gedateerd en zou een update kunnen gebruiken (maar heeft ook wel zo z'n charme). Het is 'huiselijk'. De gasten na ons kregen hun eten eerder, dat was wel enigszins bijzonder. Ik had gekozen voor de biefstuk. Die was niet boterzacht maar wel prima. Verwacht geen sterrenrestaurant maar hier kun je prima naartoe.

Very unfriendly (male) staff. The ladies were nice, though. We ordered a Coke, and there was still some left in my glass. The young man immediately came to take the bottles away because, he said, "it looks so sad!" He also wanted to take my husband's empty glass, which he had just taken the last sip. It felt really unwelcoming. We'd finished our food, and the Coke too, so we had to get lost! That's how it came across to us, and we left immediately. It used to be a cozy and friendly place. I've been coming here since I was a child, and I'm now 66, so that's at least 60 years. I'll never go back!

Open? NOT! I made a special detour to grab a bite to eat here, but there was no chicken to be seen. Please update the opening hours on Google to avoid disappointment.

It's truly faded glory, with lots of flies in the restaurant area. A dog in the kitchen. And dirty, yes, dirty windows.

I was disappointed. I ate here a while ago and it was better. The service was bad, the food wasn't bad, but it was quite expensive. I can't recommend it this time.

At 5 pm everything is reserved, then pushed into a corner at the door while 2 people were eating. Ordered schnitzel, unfortunately curled up and fried with a curry taste.... the stroganoff I ordered never came... expensive as a trucker and then you still have to pay for the shower😅 Back to France next week 🙏

Went for a business lunch this afternoon. The decor is dated, but neat and also gives a good impression and matching feeling. A nice place along the road to eat, very friendly staff. The food was fine, the ancient bread tasted great and was deliciously fresh. The croquettes were artisanal and well seasoned. Nicely served with a little sourness. Great place to have lunch, will definitely come here again in the future.

I was last there when it was still a real driver's restaurant, but last week I went there with my wife during work, but first we sat in a spot where there were no tourists around us and we were told to sit in the busy section in case large groups arrived! Well then I hoped for the large groups that they don't have to go to the toilet at the same time because there is only 1 standing toilet and 1 sitting toilet and that looked grubby. We were going to eat there but our appetite had already disappeared due to the "hospitality" later when we left, 1 was placed in the worst place where we were sitting while there was still room where we were directed to. We said something about it and received a vague answer in return. So the conclusion next time is by or to the wagon wheel. lammertschaag or over the dike and to the bolsward cabin.

Went here last Thursday for lunch and because I absolutely have to eat gluten-free, I first discussed what was possible. They did have gluten-free bread in house and I have never had such a tasty cheese spread with a delicious crispy roll. Simple but really surprising to me.
