Great food. I especially like the free salad bar and they included with every meal, and overall they gave plenty of food and was really good. Only problem is, they don’t give tap water by default, but when I told him I was a student and didn’t like the taste of bottled water, they made an exception and agreed to give it to me, which I really appreciate because it shows they care about their customers. I even tipped at the end, which I don’t usually do in Europe because this was so thoughtful. I really wish that more restaurants in the Netherlands would give tap water by default for free, but in the meantime, I’m glad you were able to make an exception, even expecting nothing in return, and that to me makes you get five stars all across the board on top of having great food and that great salad bar.

Finally, an old-fashioned Greek restaurant again. Cosily decorated with many trinkets to look at, such as old photos, statues, and signs. Separated tables, mostly by means of plants (fake). All the well-known and lesser-known dishes on the menu, and for once, not piled high with the standard French fries. Well-seasoned with various flavor impressions. Nice, spontaneous, and attentive service, who also provide an explanation of the restaurant's origins through the parents and other family members. Despite the distance, we will gladly and certainly return here. P.S. The province is also reasonably good despite the location =} 2 courses and drinks for €80.

Stew inedible. Advice: Stay home and have a sandwich with peanut butter.

Had a delicious meal, ouzo beforehand and a liqueur on the house afterwards. Fast, friendly service. The selection is huge and the quality is excellent. I would definitely go here.

i am shocked by the negative comments. the food was really good considering the fact that you can't get all the ingredients from greece, the restaurant is very cozy covered with beautiful items from greece, and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. i will definitely come again and recommend this restaurant to everyone

Delphi is our most favorite restaurant in Leiden. The food is delicious and the staff are all very friendly and helpful! It's also wonderful how generous they are with the portions. The ambience inside is so beautiful and it does make you feel like your eating somewhere in Greece. I'd highly recommend coming here!

We were greeted warmly and immediately served an ouzo. We had the Dephi platter and the Stifado. I have had quite a few Stifados, but never with a whole rabbit leg instead of pieces of meat. I found it a bit difficult to eat like that. At first, we both thought it was very tasty, but after eating for a while, we actually found it quite salty. The restaurant is very full and it is also very dark. I couldn't read the menu without shining a light on my phone. I find the location of the salad bar near the entrance a bit less appealing. The waiters were all very friendly.

5th star if there were air conditioning. It was very hot inside. Otherwise perfect.

Sunday, July 26, after a long time, I went to eat at Delphi again. I thought I'd try a cod stew, but to my surprise, I received a huge bowl of oven-baked potatoes topped with fried fish; I have my doubts whether it was actually cod. It was very salty and tasteless. The family also had a lamb stew, which consisted mostly of rice. And one Delphi dish, which was actually the best part: just meat. Perhaps the owner is on vacation, because the staff that was there were friendly, but the man running everything seemed very angry; he couldn't manage a smile. It's a shame; I always used to find it very cozy there.

the food we got after ordering was good however the seemingly friendly staff ruined the experience. we had to wait for our main course for an hour while customers around us that arrived long after us were already done eating. i pointed at my 6-year old several times asking to bring the food as soon as it is ready. an hour after we ordered, we asked when was our food coming, the staff (including the owner) “gaslighted us” as if everyone must wait that long - no understanding. overall very rude staff, not worth wasting your time there.

Delphi, a household name in Leiden for years. Believe me, you can't get better Greek food in Leiden. The place is quite full. Let's just say they make optimal use of the space, which makes it feel a bit cramped at times. Gyros, my kids ate it all up, that says something. Bifteki, omg, delicious. Souvlaki with beef tenderloin and pork tenderloin with pepper sauce... Super tender, delicious! On top of that, there is a salad bar. Delicious! Service is fast. If you eat quickly, you'll be back outside in no time... :) You also get a complimentary ouzo and a kind of sweet liqueur afterwards. That makes the experience complete. Turns out to be Kumquat liqueur. What a completely top-notch place. I'm coming back tomorrow!! -edit ok, have been back in the meantime. It was yummyyyyyy again :) People people people. Went again on July 18th. Delphi, thanks again. Enjoy!!!

Abysmal service (unfriendly, unsmiling, taking orders without waiting for confirmation, making us wait a lot of time to order etc.). Food was bland but portions were really filling. You do get some complementary ouzo if you like that, which is nice. The place is very dark and a bit tacky but I suppose it looks nice and cozy enough. Still, I wouldn't recommend it and not looking to go back anytime soon.

We spontaneously decided to eat here with four people. We managed to get a table without a reservation. The staff are incredibly friendly and try to speak German with you. All the dishes were delicious. And the price/performance ratio is excellent. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely eat there again. Best regards, Jürgen

After a family day in Leiden, we ended the day here at restaurant Delphi with 15 people. I was nervous because I didn't know anyone around me who had eaten at Delphi before, and the chance of eating truly delicious Greek food like you do in Greece is very small. They had many authentic Greek dishes, such as stews and oven dishes, which you don't often see at the average Greek restaurant in the Netherlands. Still, I went for the "standard": the grilled lamb chops. The meat is different from in Greece, but damn, the taste was delicious; it tasted very much like the authentic grilled lamb chops as they should be, nicely grilled over charcoal. The rest of the family also had a wonderful meal. Some people in the family group don't eat pork or only eat fish. They were able to enjoy themselves thoroughly too; the salmon is highly recommended! Additionally, the atmosphere was top-notch and the staff were very friendly, but also quick to take orders and are always ready to help; even if you have a lot of questions, they remain friendly despite the crowds. Because it is, well, busy there on a Saturday, in any case. I've already told my best friend, who is Greek, that we REALLY have to eat here. I'm definitely coming back! And my family was talking about how delicious the food was for days. Thanks so much again, Delphi, for the wonderful evening!

I never taste such a very tasty pita gyro 😋🥙 The atmosphere is traveling to a great greek place and all the packages are worth revisiting! If you visiting Leiden or you living close by definitely recommend!

We had a reservation for 7:15 PM…. At 7:45 PM, there was still no table available for us. We stood with about 20 other people who also had reservations, standing by the tables with all the other diners. The staff couldn't and wouldn't explain anything… DO NOT GO HERE!!!

We had a delicious meal, and as always, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice.

We had reserved for 19:15, but when we arrived, we had to join the back of the line. Since we waited until 19:40, we had the chance to speak to the people waiting around us. They had all reserved as well… In the end, we decided to go somewhere else, since there didn't seem to be any improvement. That way, we could nicely go back past the line, which by then stretched all the way to the door.

We went there for dinner. From the outside, the restaurant looks small, but inside there's plenty of space and the unique decor transports you to Greece. The food was delicious and the waiters were attentive and friendly.

The first thing we noticed is that the place is beautifully decorated and cosy. It made us relax and get in a good mood. The service was excellent: efficient and welcoming. The food was also great, freshly made, decent quantities and tasty. The house red was also pretty good. Definitely recommended.

Went to Delphi with the whole family last night and had a fantastic meal. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is unbeatable. And the service is knowledgeable and very welcoming. We've found our Greek restaurant. Highly recommended.

An experience in itself. It was absolutely packed, but the staff kept everything running smoothly.

We had a lovely Greek meal, but sitting inside feels like a traditional pub. Furthermore, if you're seated in a central location, you're literally crammed together. There were three of us, but we got a table for six. The food is really good, but everything from appetizers to dessert is quite pricey.

I expected more. The food tasted very good. However, I expected a bit more in terms of portion size for the dishes we ordered. Furthermore, the food was served very quickly, and we were out again within half an hour, including the starter. I thought this detracted from the dining experience. The service was also very friendly, which was a plus.

Authentic Greek restaurant on the edge of the old town. Good portions and, besides meat, plenty of side dishes (beans, rice). Too much salt on the souvlaki. The waiter couldn't tell me where the wine, which tasted fine, came from. The walnut cake for dessert was very tasty.

A truly great place for lunch or dinner. We haven't enjoyed our dinner in the Netherlands this much in a long time. The food is truly excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere inside and the music transported us to a completely different country, a paradise in fact. For dessert, we had delicious baklava 😊 and started with grilled feta cheese. We'll definitely visit this place again. A pleasant surprise awaited us inside: a delicious treat.

It was amazing, I spent really lovely time there with my friend. All food was delicious and portions are big. First time i saw how they serve a lemon with a beer. And we’ve also been given free shots, that’s so nice!

If you want to go to a Greek disco, go inside. If you want to have a relaxing Greek meal, walk away and go somewhere else.

Good food but we had a dish to share, the man asked if he wanted taziki with it, it was 7.85 and the music was loud, had to ask twice, it didn't go any quieter

Had it delivered to my home. Twice Athens platter. Requested gyros cooked extra well. Well, brrrrr, the meat was dry. Undercooked and tasteless. Not what it used to be. Threw half of it away. Never again Delphi. Too bad Olympia is gone. It used to be 10x better. Waste of money.

I used to eat at Delphi all the time. Large plates were full, everything was freshly prepared, the meat was tender and soft, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. The atmosphere was pleasant. While the atmosphere is still there, I'm finding it a bit disappointing now that I've eaten there a few times in the last two years. Portions are much smaller (meat was on the dry side, as were the gyros), and the prices have also risen dramatically (understandably, of course). I find it a shame that it's all less expensive. The tzatziki on the daily special comes from a jar, whereas it used to be the freshly made version. Also, the Greek music is just a tad too loud, making it impossible to chat peacefully. It's a shame, as it has so much potential.

The food is truly delicious, but when it's completely full, you can barely hear each other at the table. I also thought everything was served too hastily, and it was cleared away just as quickly.

Super cool and cozy decoration, feels like you’re inside a little greek town. The menu has a lot of options and the quality is great (greek girlfriend approves!). Starters like “oven feta” are super tasty and main dishes come in big portions. The service is also fast and kind. The place is a bit dark and can be noisy when is full, but anyway fully recommend!

Went yesterday on the recommendation of my brother and sister-in-law. Super nice, warm atmosphere as if you are really in Greece, nice Greek music, beautiful decoration and we really had a delicious meal. The prices were also very reasonable. Really recommended.

Too bad Delphi. It used to be atmospheric and hospitable, but yesterday I didn't taste much of it. It now seems more like the motto mass = cash register. As has been posted before, me and my group also had to wait more than 20 minutes even though we had made a reservation at 7 p.m. and we were ordered to wait against the wall. The food was tasty, but almost 7 euros for 3 scoops of tzatziki sauce is something I have never experienced before. This was once standard with all dishes. No Delphi. Unfortunately. I'll go elsewhere from now on.

We had dinner with you yesterday, in Greece it is quiet, but here it was not normal that everything was on the table so quickly. We hadn't finished our drinks yet when we got the bill without asking, as if we were happy to pay and the next person could sit down. This is very unfortunate. Food was good but will never come here again.

Went out to dinner with my husband and his son last Saturday. The food is good. Nothing to complain about. But what bothered us is that the bill was already presented while my husband was still busy with his drink. This is now the second time this has happened to us. We didn't like this and it was certainly not polite. The receipt also stated ASAP. Very unprofessional!!!!!!

Arrived on time with a reservation. It was packed with no room to spare. Many other people were also waiting for the same spot which was wierd. We asked the staff and they mumbled that they had a booking of 72 people. Seems as if they got greedy and took the large reservation without informing anybody. Staff treated us like dirt so we walked out. Never will go back again.

Lousy service and totally unreliable tent. I had made a reservation for my girlfriend's 4th anniversary at half past eight, when I arrived there was literally a queue all the way to the door. It turns out that they were all people who also had reservations and all had to wait anyway, making reservations apparently means nothing for this tent. In the end I walked away like several other people waiting, this was great, it ruined the whole evening.

Super cozy restaurant in a nice location in the center of Leiden. This restaurant gives you a family living room feeling. The food is great, something for everyone. The menu offers many options from fish to meat, and there is also plenty of choice for vegetarians. The service and owners are always friendly. Quality and hospitality are of paramount importance. Absolutely recommended. Please note that paid parking is required if you come by car. There are ample parking spaces in the area.

Had dinner here with 12 people for my father's birthday. The restaurant is a bit close together, but in the beginning it was not disturbing when we were the only ones, later it was a bit difficult. Staff are incredibly friendly. Food arrived on time and for everyone at the same time. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. Maybe even a little less. A lot of things now went back to the kitchen because we were just full. Reservations are recommended. They are always full, especially during the weekend. Which is understandable. A truly top tent Ate here again for my father's birthday. After 4 years still the same friendly people, the same top quality food. In short, another great evening.
