Rodos Good Taste Restaurant in Binnenstad-Noord

We ordered the special menu of €45 per person and got a couple of small dishes. I was expecting a main course but they already wanted to give us the menu to order desert. Very disappointing, and I will never go back.

Delicious food, small menu but highly recommended

We visited Rodos Good Taste Restaurant hoping for a nice dinner but unfortunately, we had to leave before even placing an order. One of the waiters was rude, cynical, and completely disrespectful from the moment we arrived. In Greece, we’ve always had warm and welcoming experiences at restaurants, but here was the opposite. The staff member’s attitude made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Hospitality matters – and sadly, it was completely missing here.

Really good fish, great service and atmosphere. Their mint infused ouzo is amazing as well.

Das Restaurant war unter der Woche nicht stark besucht. Der Service aber sehr freundlich und nett. Man kann sich in verschiedenen Sprachen unterhalten. Die Weine sind alle aus Griechenland und sehr gut. Die Speisekarte für einen Griechen sehr übersichtlich, hat aber trotzdem alles was man dort isst. Pulpo als Vorspeise mit dem passendem Weisswein, Ein Gedicht. Lamm und Huhn als Hauptgang, ebenfalls zum Geniessen. Dazu der passende Rotwein Und natürlich ein Dessert. Danach gab es noch einen Uso aufs Haus. Vielen Dank es war ein super gemütlicher Abend.

Greek service and atmosphere, friendly people. The food was good and the terrasse on the canal lovely. I would recommend you to have reservation if you want to have diner after 7pm, especially the terrasse.

Went here with a friend for lunch and had such a great experience. We were in the mood for good comfort food, and Rodos Good Taste delivered exactly that. We initially asked to move to a different table for a bit more shade, and the staff handled it immediately and kindly, which we really appreciated. The food was delicious, the service was quick, and what stood out was how attentive the team was. Whenever we needed something, they noticed and responded right away. It’s a lovely place to relax, eat well, and feel genuinely welcomed. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Unfortunately no photos were taken since we ate everything the moment they arrived.😅 the restaurant it self is very beautiful. The service was excellent, and the food was AMAZING! As a greek that lives in the Netherlands, I've been to a good amount of restaurants looking for decent greek taste, and I've never tasted anything like it. And I swear it tastes even better than some greek restaurants in Greece. Such great quality of ingredients and so nicely made. We will definitely visit again and recommend anyone to visit there.

Nice food, place is a bit loud if it’s busy. Everything’s homemade but I found staff to be a bit terse.

This restaurant is wonderful. Service: second to none. Venue: perfect - we began the meal on the canal at sunset (starters and drinks), then continued with our main meals inside the restaurant. Food: portions generous, great quality, very tasty, and certainly with the ‘home made’ vibe. Thank you to the Owner and his great team.

Niet echt een gezellig restaurant. Modern en weinig Grieks. De kaart vermeldt wel Griekse gerechten, maar alleen de saus had bij ons een Grieks tintje. De inktvisringen konden net zo goed Zeeuws, Leids of Duits zijn. Hetzelfde geldt voor de gegrilde kipfilet; gewoon kip dus met een sausje. De gerechten stonden vrij snel achter elkaar op tafel, waardoor we het idee kregen dat de tafel weer snel vrij moest zijn. Tempo eten dus. Maar de gerechten waren van goede kwaliteit, dat wel.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! The food was spot on. Our moussaka was delicious as was the prawn starter. Very fresh. The service was excellent and our waiter was very nice and friendly. Go get your delicious taste of Greece!

One of our favorite places when we lived in Leiden and we always come back here when we visit Leiden. Very good night, lovely atmosphere and Pavlos and his staff are fantastically nice. We will be back!

The restaurant is in a great location. The service is very bad. Drinks (2 glasses of wine) after more than half an hour. The food was brought backwards. Waiting again…..🤨🧐 Price performance far too expensive.

The food was OK, nothing special for the price. I would say that the prices were disproportionate for what we got. We were expecting more honestly. We waited more than an hour for the food, they didn't apologize whatsoever. On the other hand, their attitude was terrible, they did not greet us goodbye and overall they were acting really arrogant towards us. I would not recommend this place, really overrated!

Excellent and fresh Greek food! Our friend with gluten and lactose intolerances was able to choose from several options as well, including a delicious vegan dessert. Ambience is charming and our server was so lovely and nice. We even got to try the house ouzo at the end. Yamas!

First class in every respect. The hosting, the service and especially the food was all outstanding. The starters were excellent, calamari was perfectly cooked and the saganaki was delicious. Lamb rack was cooked perfectly and very high quality. Baklava was exceptional. Thanks for a great evening.

We visited Rodos a week ago and honestly, we never had a more pleasant meal. Absolutely love this place! The restaurant offers a perfect blend of Greek taste and ambiance. The service was outstanding. Giorgos and the owner Pavlos were very helpful and recommended some outstanding dishes for us. Definitely 5 out of 5!! p.s must try the greek baklava ice cream!!

Very nice and romantic atmosphere. The waiters were very attentive and kind. Foodwise it was very delicious and worth the price, which is by the way totally ok for the portions and quality. Highly recommend if you want to go for a great greek restaurant. Btw there is beer from a microbrew from Euboea with a great and fruity IPA

The food was OK, but at 43 euro, the mezedes were really expensive for what it was. Small portions for a bigger price. A pity.

Real Greek food, with real Greek service. From the moment you enter until you leave, you are in Greece for a while. The food was delicious and the service was very good. One of the few Greek restaurants in the Netherlands that really feels Greek.

We had a wonderful experience at Rodos restaurant! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We ordered the mezedes menu. It was delicious, made with high-quality ingredients that really stood out. The service was very friendly and quick. As a Greek, I highly recommend Rodos in the heart of Leiden for an authentic and delightful Greek cuisine experience!

Delicious food! I had the Souvlaki-Bifteki and my friend had lamb. Very tender, very tasty. Nice atmosphere with very friendly people. And learned some new Greek words :-)

Rodos is not some Greek restaurant Holland is used to like the regular “vreetschuur” where you can eat kilos of too salty meat. Here you get a nice plate with a nice variety the Greek cuisine has to offer. Also a good bunch of vegetarian dishes to choose from. I had a vegetarian dish: orzo with lots of herbs and grilled halloumi, which was nice, savory and creamy. My companion chose the fish of the day, which was grilled cod. It was well prepared and juicy! 👌 Staff is friendly and alert, always checking whether you are still content without being pushy. You might need reservations especially in the weekends.

After a somewhat bad experience last summer, the owner offered us to come and have dinner to put things right. This certainly happened and the food tasted delicious. Had no further complaints, so grateful for this and will definitely come back

We went to Rodos with a rather large group of people and had a very nice evening. We did the Mezedes sharing menu for starters and main course plus the very tasty baclava dessert - excellent food, very welcoming and attentive staff and cozy, yet modern atmosphere. Thank you for a great evening.

Delicious food and beautiful ambiance, friendly Greek staff, the owner who creates a nice atmosphere and comes for a chat and gives you a friendly welcome. Highly recommended are the mezedes to try something of everything and the house specialty is the baklava ice cream for dessert.

Been coming for almost 20 years. We had our wedding party there 18 years ago and had drinks for my birthday last Sunday. Delicious food and great service. It really feels like coming home and the atmosphere is very nice, relaxed and pleasant.

Komen er al bijna 20 jaar. Hebben er ons trouwfeest er gegeven 18 jaar geleden en afgelopen zondag ook weer een borrel voor mijn verjaardag. Heerlijk eten en geweldige service. Het voelt echt als thuiskomen en de sfeer is heel fijn, relaxt en aangenaam.

Décor parfait, beaux materiaux, un air de Grèce sans jouer sur les clichés qu'on trouve souvent à l'étranger Ici de la salle à la cuisine on parle grec et l'accueil est impéccable ... et côté carte, menu et cuisine c'est vraiment bon, généreux et bien présenté dans l'assiette. Alors que dire de plus que ce restaurant est douillet et sympathique. Ce soir là il y avait une grande tablée de plus d'une vingtaine de Grecs fêtant un évènement et pourtant on s'entendait en salle qui doit être assez bien insonorisée !

Was there for the second time. Food is good, but a bit too expensive. Service was subpar. Grumpy at first because we wanted to share starters. Then the waiter got upset because one of our colleagues (Greek) spoke English to him (he has lived in NY for decades, we were international, we speak English in the group so that we can understand each other, it's collegial!) and threw him out ! We all left. I didn't expect such over-the-top nationalism. Was shameful!

It is a nice restaurant located in the heart of Leiden. They have everything in Greek but there are some options if you like other sorts of food. They promoted that everything is homemade, even bread but I suspect. Regardless, it was so delicious and people are so cool

The lamb was delicious, very well cooked! I loved it. The souvlaki was good, but I’ve had better. However, for the prices, the portions were very small, for e.g. the meat came with a handful of fries. I could barely say that was enough food for me. I suggest enlarging the portions or, at least, the side dish that comes with the meat (fries or potatoes).

Well located restaurant. Pleasant terrace. The staff is smiling, the boss takes great care of his customers. The dishes are delicious and the prices reasonable. We had such a good evening that we went back the next evening.

Average main course, broccoli side was not fresh and looked old, side of potatoes were 4 very tiny. Starter was ok but drenched and overwhelming in honey.

The appearance was not quite right, but we wanted a moment of rest after a very long walk in the center of Leiden. No one present, but the staff did not allow us to have a drink. Very unpleasant experience.

I booked online, very efficiently dealt with but on arrival it was clear this is more of a walk in place alongside the canal. The restaurant itself is well appointed but (presumably because of staffing) you were encouraged to go to the outside floating barge on the canal. Not a bad spot in the summer and they were certainly busy. The food is not that cheap but the menu and certainly the drinks list are pretty extensive. One big positive is that do seem to try to keep the Greek theme going so even the beers are Greek in origin. The food is also pretty good, not huge portions but clearly whoever is in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Ditto for the wait staff who were extremely busy balancing dishes across the road. I’ve encountered far worse service on my trip to the Netherlands. The boss is very amiable, chatty and wanders among the tables. Impressive. I did have an issue with my meal and errant hair cooked into my fried squid. The management dealt with the issue and were suitably apologetic and offered comped items. All exactly the right thing to do (these things happen) but when I came to pay the bill it seemed that perhaps those ‘gifts’ has not been included as such. Hardly worth the discussion but as I paid I was offered a free drink - which by this stage I scarcely needed. Far worse places to eat in what is pretty much a tourist hot spot these days. Don’t expect a particularly small tab but equally don’t expect tourist slop on the plate. This places clearly has good standards.

Fantastic food, everything we tried was so tasty. The service was fantastic, we felt so well looked after by both the owner and the other staff. We felt like they all really cared that we have a lovely meal in their restaurant, which we most certainly did. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The food was ok, very expensive and in very small portions...definitely not a good value for money...I personally would not repeat It.
