I live in The Hague and it has become a kind of tradition to go out for dessert on Friday evenings. Sometimes an ice cream in the neighbourhood and another time a bit further away. While searching we ended up at the Dessertbar in Haarlem. What a unique place! The bar is under the stairs to the 1st floor, beautiful and rustic use of the available space. At first glance an average Dutch brown café but then you see the menu... the most beautiful desserts! And each dessert is presented on its own plate or bowl by a chef who you can see does this with passion. Friendly girl behind the bar and the espresso was delicious. My sons had a crème brulée of an adult size and a pancake with ice cream, with a dash of liquor over it and flambéed and I had a choco lava cake slice with a seriously thick slice of chocolate on top. Definitely worth driving 50km for and then a walk over the old square. Top evening!

After a meal we decided to go to a desert place. Most pastries at restaurants are standard and don’t necessarily wow. We were glad we did stop by, we ordered two types of pastries and both were scrumptious.

Such a nice concept! Wonderful stop for the afternoon or certainly great for a dessert after your dinner if you want a tasty dessert! Highly recommended! 👏🏼

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit feel comfortable. The tiramisu was very good, incredibly creamy and clearly made with care. The ambiance is cosy, making this a nice spot to unwind with something sweet.

Homely and warm. The owner runs it alone and has a good understanding of guests. Everything reserved with attention. Tip: A delicious warm goat cheese salad with fresh and pure ingredients. The warm beef on bread is also recommended. Also nice for a tasty snack with coffee.

I've been coming here for years and it's always a nice place to get dessert if the dessert menu in other restaurants is disappointing (or if I just feel like dessert, let's be fair). The desserts are great, a favorite is the caramel cheesecake. The only point of improvement is that I would like it if some new desserts were added to the menu over the years, in addition to the classics.

We visited this place for the first time. We arrived early, chose a cozy table by the window, and ordered coffee, tea, and food. After some time, we were asked to move to another table because ours was meant for four people, while there were only two of us. This left a negative impression, as such treatment of guests feels disrespectful. Unfortunately, the quality of food and drinks didn’t meet expectations either. The coffee was bitter and tasted burnt, and the food was dry. The only thing we enjoyed was the tea, but it’s hard to get tea wrong. Overall, the experience was disappointing. We would appreciate more attention to the quality of the food and respect for the guests

It was a warm and comforting break during my visit during the Christmas market 🍰🕯️💐. A welcoming and cozy candlelit atmosphere with pretty bouquets of flowers on the tables. The hot chocolate was delicious as we like it with homemade whipped cream on top, I tasted the appeltaart which was very good. Thank you for this suspended moment.

A lovely place to warm up with a good hot chocolate topped with delicious whipped cream accompanied by a good slice of apple pie... A treat and pleasant service.

Super nice little place in Haarlem. Delicious for just a drink or to treat yourself to a tasty dessert. Service is very friendly and I always feel welcome when I enter here.

Cozy inside and sweet service. Only came for dessert. Initially there was no room at the bar, but we were offered to move to a table when one became available. Desserts were great!

The food was very nicely presented, and tasted very good! The dessert was really good, too.l, and fairly good price I'd say considering it's close to the center of the Harlem. I'd come back when I visit Harlem again in the future.

A lovely little spot to stop and get food. We stopped by for some dessert and was not disappointed at all. A great french lemon pie and a relaxing place to sit not that far from the town center area.

The best place for desserts in the city centre! Everything seems to be truly home made, I tried different things on multiple occasions and was never disappointed. Absolutely mouthwatering! Great staff and super cosy atmosphere too, this place is located in an absolute cute corner in a city centre of Haarlem. The only downside is that their room is rather small and sometimes you have to wait for a table :) still - absolutely worth it!!

The desserts are to die for! We ordered Caramel cheesecake and lava cake. Both were mouthwatering and delicious. The staff was very co-operative and nice as well. Would definitely go back again!🤤

What a super fun discovery...and what a delicious dessert menu! I now went for the carrot cake with cream cheese topping and pecan nuts, but the tarte tatin, the chocolate cake with red fruit, the French lemon cake, etc. will be next time!!

Had the Tartufo and it was a delight. The Tiramisu was nice but I like it a bit more powerful. The lemon cake was an explosion of sweet and sour... Loved it.

Be careful, this place is dangerously delicious. Don't order too much or you'll have to rush home! Everything is made in-house including the ice cream!

Went back to the Desert bar after a long time and yes, it was still the tastiest sandwich and coffee we can buy in Haarlem, along with some other lunchrooms. The service is also very relaxed and informal and delicious. We will definitely come back here.

Heerlijke desserts. Hadden 4 chocoladeballen die waren echt top! En een citroentaartje. Goeie combi. Zou hier zeker nog eens heengaan.

We hebben heerlijk geluncht bij Dessert. Verrassend lekker broodje met serranoham, vijgenchutney, blauwe schimmelkaas. Top!

Absoluut doen! Dat als eerste.. Maar voor een naam dessertbar verwacht je wel eigenlijk een killing lijst aan keuze. Dat viel tegen vond ik. Ook het goedkope menukaartboekje kan stukje leuker en creatiever. Om deze reden geen sterren. Eigenlijk wel wat oneerlijk want de toetjes waren voortreffelijk en de huiselijke sfeer en service geeft je gevoel meer dan welkom te zijn. We komen graag nog een keer terug

Ik kom hier vaker, samen met mijn vrouw. Leuk gezellig restaurant in het mooie historische deel van Haarlem. Zeer goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Zomer of winter zij hebben altijd lekker eten. En leker wijntje erbij. Even lekker onthaasten. Aanrader.

Een heerlijk restaurant, wij hebben hier even een kleine lunch genuttigd. Fijne sfeer en aardige attente bediening, mijn verse appelpunt met vanille ijs was uitmuntend. Aanrader!

Erg leuk dat er zo een dessertbar is in het Haarlem Centrum. Na een heerlijk diner eerst even een stukje wandelen en dan hier verder met een lekkere kop koffie of thee een een dessert.

A delightful little place, where as soon as you enter you feel at home. The owner has this sweet smile, she took care of my many intolerances by changing things on the menu. A personalized service like few can be found! The carrot soup is worth another visit! And last, the espresso comes with a small glass of water, like in Italy! I like it!!!

Wat een fijne plek om even te landen, heerlijke koffie, top clubsandwich, heerlijke tomatensoep, zeker een aanrader. Waar het hier echt om gaat zijn de desserts, daar moeten nog eens voor terugkomen!

We hebben hier voor de verjaardag van mijn man geluncht. Ik had een club sandwich die super lekker was. Mijn dochter een tosti met nagenoeg ongelimiteerd ketchup. Wat mijn man precies had weet ik niet meer. Maar hij vond het ook heerlijk. En uiteraard namen we ook een desert. Ik had panacotta met witte chocolade en passion fruit. Erg lekker. Mijn man had Zoete Ballen. Hij vond ze lekker maar wel enorm machtig. De service was erg vriendelijk. En het restaurant is in een leuk straatje in het centrum van Haarlem We komen hier zeker weer een keer terug.

Eine ganz liebe Inhaberin. Babyessen wurde sofort in der micro erwärmt und auf einem Teller serviert. Ganz herzlich. Essen und Trinken super. Preise angemessen. Sehr gemütliches Cafe.

Goede service en heerlijke toetjes!!! Wij hadden een warm chocoladetaartje met fruit en de pannacotta besteld. Allebei de dessert met een bijpassend drankje, deze was uitgekozen door de serveerster. De drankjes paste qua smaak erg goed bij de dessert. En de dessert waren overheerlijk! Zeker een aanrader om hier heen te gaan!
