All in all, definitely recommended! Weekend in Haarlem; we stumbled upon Dané on a Wine and Food walk. The flavors and service were truly fantastic, so we even went back for more. We certainly weren't disappointed; the chef's creative dishes with diverse flavors, generous portions, and extremely friendly staff. The price reflects the quality. Limited menu, but no star-studded airs or nonsense. If I had to make one comment, it's that, looking back, I didn't expect the food to be this good!

In the afternoon, a pulled pork sandwich and chicken on the heated terrace were such a delicious surprise that we immediately made a reservation for the evening as well. Then we enjoyed a superb surprise menu from the chef with a glass of cava. The friendly, young, and attentive staff knew what they were serving. The dishes were tantalizing, flavors that complemented each other beautifully and were also very surprising. The presentation was also stunning. It was a culinary delight at a reasonable price.

Until yesterday evening, Dané was one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, it is no longer what it used to be. We were looking forward to an evening of surprise 5-courses with delicious wine. When we asked for the surprise menu with matching wines, it was indicated that they no longer offered wine arrangements. This was still stated on the website. Wine suggestions were also not possible; we had to choose something from the menu ourselves. That is only difficult with a surprise menu.. A bachelor party was being organized in the same room. The restaurant may not have known that.. But because of that it was very noisy and we could hardly hear each other.

Nice location to have a early drink. Got over charged for the Kaassouffle. Only by a small amount but still. This is unusual for the Netherlands. Perhaps check your bill. Staff are working hard.

A beautiful day in Haarlem, great shopping because of the very varied range of shops with not only chains but small independent shops. Then this terrace lovely in the sun during lunch. With a view of many cyclists and passers-by on foot. We took a 2-course menu with wine pairing. The young man serving was very friendly and his knowledge was in order. Sourdough bread with sauces, all delicious. Then tuna cooked in sour, delicate and really tasty. Main course duck breast, deliciously juicy with separate Uber potato and reduced beautiful sauce.. oh yes, also 2 amuses in advance.. everything was right here! Chapeau!

We made one reservation at 19.30 for 20.30, they confirmed it even by email and when we arrive to the restaurant the waiter said us that the reservation didn’t have been taken so they didn’t have space. So we had to turn 30 minutes to find another place. unprofessional and unstylish.

The food was fine. Although the amuse we got before our five-course menu was much too rich and rich in taste. We enjoyed all the other dishes. Some dishes could have been a bit more seasoned. If we had had salt and pepper at the table, I would certainly have used it with two of the five dishes. That's where the misery about the service starts, we were the only table without salt and pepper. Actually, it started for us at the reception. We had not even gotten cold inside when the boy at the entrance asked quite directly and clearly "have you made a reservation?" The tone was set, so to speak. We had made a reservation, our coats were taken. Then we were shown to the table. Literally. No one walked along. "Your table is around the corner on the left". We went on an excursion. When we were seated, we were asked if we wanted water. Yes, great, we did and the boy walked away without asking if we wanted still or sparkling. We got sparkling. Start with a cava? Yes, delicious. The boy started to open the bottle at the table, which did not give us any more confidence in the whole thing. But he had done it before, he said, we did not notice that. The concept was explained as if it was one of the most innovative concepts of the restaurant. You could choose something from the menu or a chef's menu (you really don't have that anywhere 😳🤓). It was not the intention that you would also make demands on what you got. Fortunately, we were allowed to indicate that one of us did not want shellfish. We were not asked if we wanted a wine pairing. Or something else to drink. We got an amuse, deep warm creamy full flavors. One was in a small glass, was a somewhat thicker creamy flavor with truffle. Delicious, but we had to ask for a spoon first. When the amuse was put down, we indicated that we wanted the wine pairing. After the amuse, we got our first dish after a while. A delicious tuna tartare with a fresh sauce that was poured onto the plate at the table from a bottle with drops of sauce already on it. We didn't have a glass in front of us yet. When the plates were collected, I indicated that we would like a matching wine with the next dish. It took a while again, but then glasses were put down. However, these were cava glasses. The boy who put them down was pointed out. He took them away and put new glasses down. This time red wine glasses, which were then filled with white wine. Special. We had been given another delicious fish. I had beurre blanc with XO sauce in it. My partner had a replacement sauce because of the shellfish. It was tasty, a bit too little sauce. The wine went well with it. After the plates were collected, we were given plenty of time to look around the place and discuss our current experience. Everything went so clumsily that we just gave in. We only saw tables with empty glasses in the place. The next three courses went on and on. Ugly cutlery, worn cutlery. Tables around us got different glasses but the same wine. Etc. etc. There was almost a 45 minute wait between the fourth course and dessert. And not that it was just our table, because we went at the same pace as the tables around us. The frustration was clearly noticeable with the boy who had been put in charge. “Jesus!” And “shit!” When something went wrong again. She tried to do everything super neatly, but it felt like a group of students trying to run a restaurant without experience. And maybe that was exactly what it was. And the icing on the cake was that there was sadness at the table next to us. And while the lady was in tears, she was asked if she had finished eating… When we left, we shared our experience with the boy who was clearly in charge. He agreed that things were not going smoothly. This was because two full-timers had resigned. That may all be true, but for a bill of €245, I would expect a bit more class.

Dané was recommended by a boutique hotel in the area. The website looked good and raised expectations. Upon arrival, Dané turns out to be a crazy concept. You first enter through a kind of brown café / terrace and only further on do you enter the restaurant area that looks quite nice. Very empty, there was literally 1 person sitting at another table. We succumbed to the 4-course 'chef's menu' with matching wine arrangement. The first glass of champagne came from an old bottle and there was not a single bubble in it. Too bad about this mistake! The quality of the food was quite good, but due to small details (the old champagne, suddenly having to pay extra for cheese for dessert, little time between courses, a bit of a disappointing ambiance) expectations were not met. Add to that the incredibly hefty bill (240 euros for 2 people!) and you understand that I did not have a predominantly positive experience here. Dané profiles itself as a top restaurant (at least in terms of price) but simply does not live up to this. Not recommended.

Such a delicious lunch! We had the surprise menu and it was really good, so tasty. We were also helped well, everything was very neat. Highly recommended. The normal menu didn't look very spectacular, just sandwiches, but the special menu was highly recommended.

Had a great evening with Dané! The atmosphere in the restaurant is really cozy and the staff is super friendly. That really made the evening a success. We opted for a 6-course chef's menu. No wine arrangement but just 2 separate bottles of wine. The food was tasty, but for us (big eaters) the portions were somewhat small. Some dishes were really tasty, others I found less so. The appetizers that we ordered off the menu were really delicious! The wines were also really tasty. At the end of the evening €365 was paid. I thought it was a hefty price. I thought the price-quality ratio was a bit different. All in all, I recommend Dané!

From the moment we walked in, we were pampered by Jort's top service (and a little bit from Sjoerd, who certainly deserves kudos too!). The atmosphere was relaxed and the music was adjusted just right, which made the overall picture perfect. 🎼💛 The 5-course dinner was a true journey through flavors and textures, with a perfectly chosen wine for each course. Each dish was a culinary challenge and showed how much passion the chef has in the kitchen. The combinations were surprising and refined – a feast for the taste buds! 🍲🍷 We really enjoyed this unforgettable evening. If you are in Haarlem and are looking for a restaurant that excels in hospitality, ambiance and high-quality dishes, Dané is definitely the place to be. What an experience! Ate here last week with my partner Jeroen after the Horecava fair. We opted for the 7-course menu with matching wine pairing. Both the presentation of the courses and the coherence of flavors and wines were truly sublime. In addition, Jort's explanation (despite the fact that he has only been working there for 8 months) was fantastic! You really heard the passion in his story. Genuinely surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it here!

We had dinner here on my birthday and are going to celebrate another birthday on Sunday. Nice menu with a nice variation between fine dining and just tasty bread with dips. Nice employees and happy soft background music. The only comment is that there could be a better drinks menu (invest in a nice bottle of gin and some special juices) but that is of course very personal, coincidentally one of us likes juice and I like GT (but no Gordons)

Until tonight Dané was our favorite restaurant. Everything was sloppy tonight. The soul is gone. Such a shame. The crackers were already a bit soft due to the moisture of the humus. The we card just didn't get through. Escargot were cold. Cod was lukewarm. Fries were ok-ish. Such a shame, we won't be coming back here again….

Everything was delicious. Food and wine = top. In my opinion, more attention could be paid to the details (in line with fine dining). The interior of the restaurant, hygiene, the type of bread given (for example), the extras, things forgotten to mention or a bit lax when saying goodbye. The small details could be a bit 'better'. But overall enjoyed it!

Excellent restaurant which offers both simple dishes and gastro-style menus. The avocado smashes were excellent although very salty. The servers were very friendly.

We had dinner here on Monday evening and it was great. Nice asset to the city. The atmosphere is nice, neat but relaxed and in a beautiful place in the city. Nice menu, not super extensive, but good dishes and a nice chef's menu with a number of courses of your choice. We had the tuna, steak tartare and once chef's menu. The tuna was exceptionally tasty, but the chef's menu and steak tartare were also well received. Main courses were the sirloin steak (beautiful piece of meat and tasty), duck breast (with chorizo) and the chef's menu this time was guinea fowl and duck. This time the chef's menu was the favorite, but the other dishes also tasted very good. Desert was chocolate, cheese board and desert chef's menu. All three divine. In short, it is highly recommended to have a nice meal here.

Big tiktok kick, recommended via tiktok, because it looked very good there. However, the food was disappointing, tuna tartare was too hot and shrimp from the freezer were not fresh at all because they were already starting to turn black. Meals were either extremely salty or had no unique taste. Although the food was disappointing, the wine arrangement was to our liking. I must honestly admit that I thought it was expensive for the mediocre taste experience..

If you stay in Haarlem for a weekend, you really feel like you are a guest. Because Haarlem has more cafes and restaurants than shops, you are faced with quite a bit of choice when it comes to having a nice evening meal somewhere. We were advised to have dinner at Restaurant Dané, a restaurant that was started about a year ago and is run by a young couple. We went for a surprise 4-course menu from the chef. With our aperitif we received a delicious baked roll with truffle cream and a pesto cream with a salt stone that you could grate yourself with a good olive oil. After this we received a delicious Amuse of a tatare from Lobster. As a cold starter we got a stuffed salmon roll with a crab terrine, the deduction of the terrine was added as a sauce. As an entree we were surprised with a crispy cod tart with Bearnaise sauce and candied red shallots. The main course consisted of a delicious piece of tender rosé prepared beef with jus de veau, topped off with a deliciously fried, crispy, delicious kind of bacon. Our dessert consisted of a candied pear tart served on a tart with food and Meringue and vanilla sauce. We had to make a choice from the cheese cart, you have a lot of choice from different cheeses and everything is well explained by a hostess who does not like cheese herself, very nice how she explained this. They were all pictures and all in very good taste. Compliments to the entire team, nice smooth service, nice and relaxed and very motivated and they know what they are serving. We will definitely return to this beautiful and hospitable restaurant. You've also come to the right place for good wine advice.

Chef's menu is of a high standard. We ordered the 4 course menu and it was nice that you got some bread with it because the portions are a bit small. But very refined and enormous quality. Recommended.

Mooie wijn/spijs combinaties tegen een alleszins acceptabele prijs. Kortom, heerlijke avond gehad. Aanrader voor wie van een creatieve kaart houdt. Tip: neem het chef’s menu. Ga je geen spijt van krijgen. Mooi om zulke jonge talentvolle ondernemers en het team zo deskundig en vol passie bezig te zien!

Restaurant Dané ligt aan de voet van Bavo kerk in het hart van het centrum van Haarlem. Wij kozen voor het 4 gangen menu van de chef. Het menu stelde niet teleur. Bij iedere gang zat iets verrassend. Van het stukje sponge cake van rijst tot het asperge ijs. Niet alle smaken kwamen er al even goed uit maar alles bij elkaar een prima ervaring. Vriendelijke medewerkers die weten waar ze het over hebben en de boel hier onder controle hebben. Waarom geen 5 sterren. Voor deze prijzen had ik toch liever een tafellaken over de tafels gezien en stoelen die lekkerder zitten. Het was een harde zit na 3 uur. Mannen met korte broeken in het restaurant bij het diner. Misschien word ik oud, maar ik vond het niet passend. Parkeren kan tegen betaling bij de Appelaar Sanitair bereikbaar per trap.
