A speakeasy style bar that oozes class. You have to try and find the entrance (look for a queue of people is the only hint I’ll give) and then follow the host through the curtains to the sheik classy bar. The vibe is hip and cool, the drinks sublime and the service is 5 star.

This still is one of the best coctailbars i know, for years, so, just ring the bell, IF you can find it 😉 and go in for a good cocktail!!

Fantastic place - so pleased I booked it in advance for our short trip to Amsterdam. World-class cocktail bar and good chat from bartenders (We sat at the bar) and excellent drinks. Had two off the signature menu and a Naked & Famous to end the evening.

One of the few places that makes a difference from the moment you write to make a reservation. You already feel the warmth before you even arrive. Once there, a mysterious door on a busy, bustling street, almost unnoticed, with a bell you have to ring as if you were visiting a friend, greets you with your bartender-host. The lights, the music, the bartending team—all geniuses. A spectacular place that has become one of my favorites in the world (and I've been to many places). I hope to return to Door 74 on my next visit to wonderful Amsterdam.

This is such a gem! We absolutely loved the cocktails, they were delightfully innovative and intricate, and the presentation was brilliant.

Hidden away without a sign, Door 74 feels like a genuine secret in Amsterdam. The cosy, dimly lit atmosphere is really inviting. The bartenders are true professionals and the menu features unique, carefully made cocktails. I’d recommend the Manila Mirage—it’s superb. Perfect spot if you’re after something a bit different.

The only REAL speakeasy in Amsterdam! Recommend booking online, for sure. Our server, Andeta was super friendly and helpful. The staff was awesome, drinks were amazing, and you just have to try the Aztec drink! Wow!

Found this via TikTok and really wanted to go. It was busy and so we had to stand and drink which was fine. A reservation probably is better. The drinks were ok. For the price, I felt they were expensive and the quantity wasn’t that much.

Great spot recommended by a Dutch friend. Nice cocktails and speakeasy vibe with a local feel. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic cocktails, wonderful service, friendly staff. A must-visit in Amsterdam! One note: bar seats are uncomfortable! No where for your knees, no place to rest your feet. Hopefully they will get better bar seating during the renovation.

This is an overrated place, I don't understand why there are so many good reviews. The aesthetics of the speakeasy bar here is just the front door with no signage. The atmosphere is like a massage parlor. Very loud r&b music from the two thousand's. Cocktails are not bad, but not good either, and highly overpriced for what we got. My friends and I came for an unusual experience of speakeasy bar, but we wanted to leave right away without ordering anything. In the men's restroom, the door handle fell right into my friend's hand. That's the experience we had, I don't recommend it.

Making a reservation online was seamless. We had a pleasant walk to Door 74. The staff was excellent at explaining everything and answering questions showing a general interest in helping us select the right cocktail.

The bar looks outdated. Drinks are just alright, don’t expect fine mixology here. Service is bad.

I am quite fond of Speakeasy Bars and around europe‘s capitals there are a bunch of establishements that actually stand for décent gastronomical standards and love and dedication for barkeeping craft. This bar unfortunately is not one of them. Hygiene and hospitality Standards are lacking. We were quite disappointed.

Drinks not food. Cocktails were fabulous fresh and tasty. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. We tried 6 from the menu all great.

My second time here. Cocktails and all was so good. But there was an internet problem so music went off for like an hour. We think you could download and save your music for moments like this because this effects the ambience.

Very nice place. A truly old school speak-easy bar for lovers of real bars that will take you back to old decades. Their cocktails were all very good. Some of the best old fashioneds we've ever had in our lives. I must emphasize that the staff was one of the best we've ever seen.

Excellent concept and definitely hidden and a real charming welcome when you find the right door! Staff were en pointe, friendly, knew their stuff and looked after us. We were seated at the end near the toilets which wasn't the best location in the venue. The menu book was beautiful but the cocktails didn't live up to expectations. Boring glassware, similar tastes across the cocktails we tried, and overly expensive for average cocktails. However, the snacks were excellent. I have tried speak easy concepts in different places and there are much better versions of this out there. We stayed for 2 drinks each but 1 would have been enough, to see the concept and then leave to get better value, and drinks, elsewhere. A bit disappointed overall.

Very nice “secret bar”. The atmosphere is cool, small, cosy, classic. Music as well. The service is very kind! The drinks aren’t outstanding tbh but the rest compensates.

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is warm. The drinks were so unique and delicious. I will definitely come back when I am in Amsterdam and I highly recommend you come.

The actual idea of this speak easy is so perfect. The hidden door, the word of mouth, you really feel like it's a true speak easy. Once inside, Julie was amazing and communicative about the menu. The cocktails were delicious and all of the servers were lovely. Highly suggest making a reservation or showing up to the door early to make one for later.

Door 74 has a wonderfully charming and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. I tried their Old Fashioned Hustle, and it was great! Highly recommended for a top-notch cocktail experience!

Hidden gem in Amsterdam. Ring the bell to get in. There’s no signs anywhere, but if you ring the bell, they will open the door. Amazing experience.

The Aztec Arcade is so yummy and I don't like sugar nor alcohol that much but the cocktails here are really good. Golden Gize was also good - I didn't like that much the Red "something" but it's a taste exploration at its best :)

We previously left a glowing review for Door 74 after several wonderful visits—great cocktails, friendly staff, and a cool, intimate vibe. Sadly, after what happened on our most recent visit, we can no longer recommend it. We stopped by again, as we had many times over the past few weeks, only to be told the bar was full and to come back in 30 minutes. We waited across the street and returned after just 15 minutes, when we saw several people leave. Despite recognizing us, the doorman dismissed us entirely and let two young women—who had just arrived—walk in ahead of us without question. We were treated as if we were invisible. It was incredibly disappointing to be so blatantly passed over in favor of younger, more “marketable” guests, especially after being loyal patrons. What was once a favorite spot now feels superficial and unwelcoming. If you’re under 30 and conventionally attractive, you’ll likely have a great time here. But if you’re not, don’t expect the same level of respect. We won’t be back.

THE PERFECT BALANCE. Just like a good cocktail, Door 74 offers the perfect balance all around: atmosphere, service and product work together harmoniously - the same way rum, lime and sugar do in a Daiquiri. Speakeasy entrance in a busy area, the vibe can suit either a first date, drinks with friends, or a solo-evening when you just want to have a perfectly balanced cocktail, complain about your rough day at work, crack a joke with the bartenders, buy a shot for strangers, go home and write a review. Door 74 is just like a classic cocktail: you don't need to change anything, it works the way it is. That's what makes it a classic. Go and see.

By far, the best cocktail experience in Amsterdam! Bartenders create & collaborate on the menu. Cocktails challenged the palate & were delicious. No science projects or gimmicks. Andeta, Giulia, & Carlotta were absolute sweethearts. Excellent service with knowledgable, patient, & helpful advice on cocktail characteristics and construction. Our group of 4 were seated seated promptly when we arrived, were never rushed & had a wonderful evening. With Giulia behind the bar, the cocktails were fabulous! A couples nights later, Rich & I went back over at midnight without a reservation. Andeta met us at the door with big hugs & found us seats at the bar. Carlotta was behind the bar & we enjoyed the opportunity watch her construct cocktails & had an in depth conversation with her about different taste profiles & ingredient combinations. We left Amsterdam for a 7 day river cruise & made a reservation for the 4 of us for the night we returned. Giulia greeted us at the door when we arrived having recognized our names on the reservation. Carlotta was working back bar & Andeta had the night off. We had been enjoying our Door 74 favorites & about an hour in, Andeta happened to stop by & joined us for great conversation & several rounds of shots! A comprehensive spirit inventory & creative cocktail construction are clearly vital for a successful craft cocktail establishment. Great welcoming service, such as we received from our friends at Door 74, make a cocktail experience truly outstanding & special!

Highly recommend this place- staff was friendly and attentive, drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. The bartender making the drinks clearly knows what he’s doing.

Note: Door 74 is small and requires a reservation. The door is not marked so you must ring the bell. I had very tasty and interesting cocktails here. The menu is organized around a spectrum of flavors which made it easy to choose. The bartender was incredibly fast and efficient, and made up an off-menu cocktail for us and nailed the profile we were looking for

It's a nice place, when you enter the location on the map you can't see anything, but the black door with a bell is Door74. We chose two cocktails, the taste was very good. The price is above average. The only problem is that it is very stuffy inside. The type is requested in the payment section, it is not mandatory to give it, but it is usually given.

Drinks were creative and delicious and with a twist of inventive chic. Service and atmosphere incomparable. Mystery unmatched. Must go but need reservations.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely experience. The atmosphere is kinda mysterious and very elegant at the same time. The drinks are certainly well thought through and it is a lot of fun browsing through the menu and trying different drinks. The prices are very reasonable.

This speakeasy Features amazing cocktails and attentive service. The cocktail menu was recently updated and is a bit sweet and fruity for my taste. However, the mixologist made me a very interesting one (Manila mirage). I wouldn’t categorize it as citrusy, but floral and Smokey…. Definitely. Would love it even better with a spice rim, although the pepper Ketel One was a nice addition. It’s a small place but I’m happy it is still a staple in Amsterdam.

Very good and balanced drinks, very friendly service, they did not hesitate to help us and give some suggestions, very nice interior, vibes of a good speakeasy bar in the era of prohibition.

Today is our 3rd visit. We had our first cocktail and while chatting, the waitress came and asked if we wanted anything else. I said "No" and then she asked if I could bring the bill! But we were going to chat and try the other cocktails. If you're not drinking, she basically said get out! We got bored and asked for the bill. Naturally, I pressed "no thanks" on the tip section of the POS machine and unlike the polite greeting at the door upon entering, they didn't even say goodbye. We opened the door ourselves and left. Shameful...Smug-ass... (By the way, the place was empty and we hadn't even been seated for 1 hour and the reservation said 2 hours!)

What feels like a secret and hidden bar, with a press of the door bell to gain entry (so long as your name is on the list). A fantastic vibe with even better cocktails, we only had a brief visit for a pre-dinner drink, but we wished we’d had longer. Friendly and knowledgeable staff mix the perfect cocktails, with classics and their own inventive creations. I’d highly recommend that you get your self a reservation, slip behind the curtain, and enjoy a fantastic drink in this hidden gem.

Found this place a bit overrated and definitely overpriced for what it offers. The front area has some charm, but the back feels more like a diner than a cocktail bar. Service was disappointing — we were quietly chatting and watching the bartender work (as one does at a cocktail bar), and unexpectedly got asked if we were making fun of her, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. The cocktails themselves were underwhelming and hard to finish. Not a place I’d return to.

The drinks were extraordinary—not your usual cocktails, though you can certainly order those as well. The menu offers something for everyone, leaving no wish unfulfilled. Bit quiet but pub was very nice. Wide selection of drinks. Bartender was super helpful and even provided some food recommendations in the area.

Simply amazing. A very traditional speakeasy; unassuming from outside, which makes all the difference to the atmosphere on the inside. Do not miss this one, it's a must visit if you're in the city. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Show. Last evening in Amsterdam for me and my other half and we decided to try Door 74. Really good and above all studied cocktails, nothing is left to chance (tried a nice strong cocktail with this smoky/smoked tone on the bottom that sent me on a high). The girls who served us made us feel at home, so much so that even the one who (I think) is the owner did a great job in choosing the staff and above all her charm as an excellent hostess did not go unnoticed. We hadn't booked but good karma still allowed us to be seated and we returned home very sad because we would have liked to return the following evening but Italy was waiting for us :( See u soon!

First-class bar culture in the heart of Amsterdam. The bartenders know their craft. It's fun to watch the cocktails being prepared. The bar menu offers exceptional cocktails. Of course, the classic standard cocktails are also available. The spirits used are of high quality.

Nice as a shop and atmosphere. The cocktails were pretty ordinary to unremarkable, but the list was very cleverly structured. A minus that you had to pay by card because they didn't have change for cash.

Yesss loved this bar behind a conspicuous door! We went on the 2nd night of the launch of their new drinks. We were given a warm welcome and proceeded to try a few of the their new drinks which were all very unique, delicious and unique. My favourite was the one with rum ice cubes… OMG. Our barman/server was a lovely Dutch version of Charles leCLerc. A bonus! We’ll be back if we return to Amsterdam.

impeccable atmosphere and service. food is a bit lackluster, as there's just a few cold snacks. still, if you go there's it's for the drinks and the vibe. the stools at the shared table are a bit hefty, so not the best experience. better experience if you get to sit to the couches

We arrived earlier then our booking but they very kindly let us in out of the rain anyway. Atmosphere was great and drinks were amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive and seemed to really care about the customer experience. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates a proper cocktail.

We booked 15 minutes before coming and they accepted our reservation. We were let in quite fast and our coats were very gently taken care of by the ‘door man’. Me and my friend had the ‘russian egg’ cocktail (i forgot the specific name) and it was described very nicely by the staff on how to perfectly drink and enjoy it. The second drink, we asked from off the menu, and was perfect!!! (as a bartender, it tasted exactly how i like it!!!) The staff was very funny and helpful and I will definitely be a regular to this bar from now on!! Thank you for a nice time:)

The best bar I’ve come across in Amsterdam

I don't understand why this place has such a high rating. Went there with my fiance tonight, didn't have a great experience. Corporate greed at its best. They put as much people inside as physically possible. We had to share a couch and a table with two other couples! As a result, no private space at all. Not even space to put your glass/ sit normally. Drinks were average. You can find better in Amsterdam. I wouldn't return and won't recommend.

We had high expectations for this bar, but they fell extremely short after going. If you go, make sure you don’t get seated by the restrooms because if you do, the smell will overwhelm you and completely ruin the already downtrodden atmosphere. It seems like a regular occurrence as one of the staff immediately went and got air freshener from the back to try to deplete the smell of someone who lost control of their bowels. Out for the 5 drinks we had, only one was “okay”. The rest were completely unbalanced flavors where the drinks couldn’t even be finished. The wait staff was notified and they delivered us drinks to say sorry, but those too, are unable to be drank. Overall, skip this bar on your trip to Amsterdam and find another cocktail bar to go to.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful evening! Nice that the speakeasy bar was actually well hidden for once instead of most 'hidden' cocktail bars. Menu was unique and clearly indicated what to expect from our drinks. Bar staff quickly switched to English when they noticed that my girlfriend spoke English, which was very appreciated and we were received nicely and our coats were accepted, which I always like. Finally, the location is nicely laid out with a great view of the bar staff who do a great job! Definitely worth repeating!
