I have drunk an incredible number of cocktails in my life, but I can honestly say that I have never had a cocktail as good as the one here. I was truly completely surprised. Everything about this place is perfect: the concept of a hidden cocktail bar, the beautiful vintage interior, and the atmosphere make it a truly special experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and super attentive. As soon as your glass of water is almost empty, it is refilled immediately, and you also receive a delicious welcome drink. The cocktail menu is also truly amazing. You can easily see which cocktails are sweet, creamy, fruity, or a bit stronger, which makes choosing a lot easier. I have, without a doubt, had the best cocktail of my life here. Highly recommended if you are in Amsterdam. 10/10!

Drinks are toooo sweet, feels like having a dessert. Ordered 5 drinks, bill was above 100€ - not worth the price at all. I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for a drink and that too these guys charging 20€ each. The ambience and the vibe is great no doubt, even tne entry and the theme is nice.

We went without a reservation just to have a drink. When we found the place, the host (a blonde) greeted us and told us that for the time, reservations were required. Since it was our first time, we asked if we could just have one drink and leave, to which she replied, "And where are you going to drink it?" That's not a polite way to answer a question. It was our first impression of the place, and it was terrible.

A really cool hidden bar with incredibly good cocktails, a great atmosphere, and super friendly bartenders who have perfected their craft. Reservations are recommended; we were lucky enough to get a table without one, but next time I would definitely make a reservation.

Visited with my husband last night after enjoying this place with friends 2 years ago, it is absolutely brilliant and the first place I booked upon my return to Amsterdam. Our waiter was great, super knowledgeable and friendly. Great drinks, yes there is a higher price tag but this is city-wide and not concentrated to just door 74. I feel you are getting what you pay for, the decor and vibe are also fantastic. Highly recommend

There are bars and there are BARS. Door 74 represents the finest cocktails in the world and Tim is in a league of his own. Do yourself and your family proud and stop by for a drink.

Where to start? Perfection comes to mind. The cocktails are creative and delicious. The service was amazing. Attentive, but not pushy. The atmosphere is perfect. Dark, quiet, cozy, warm, & welcoming. This is a place you come to relax, slow down, and enjoy the experience.

10/10 we came back a few times during our stay in Amsterdam! Staff was amazing, and it was fun. Special shout out to Giosy and Andetta both were great and remembered us. Definitely would recommend and coming back next time we are in Amsterdam

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The drinks are very nice. There are a lot of non-alcoholic versions of the drinks on the menu.

I love the speakeasy vibe to it and how it's hidden in plain sight. Drinks were very nice (also very expensive for what's given but overall worth to have a drink)

Impressive cocktails and amazing team!

Pretty bummed, staying around the corner and had it bookmarked as a place I wanted to visit. Rang the bell but nobody let me in. Rang it a few times and was not acknowledged. Was checking back on here to make sure they were still open and see others left reviews when I had stopped by.

Excellent cocktail bar. The drinks menu was extensive and filled with original drinks designed specifically for Door 74. The seating is very limited, which means customers get great attention from the staff. A reservation is required.

We had a private event at Door 74 (third year running). The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is having a good time - even remembering our drink orders. It’s a great hidden gem and would recommend to anyone looking for great cocktails in Amsterdam.

Kept us waiting outside for a while to check if there was space. When we went in it was half empty. Lacked atmosphere, is pretty pretentious and overpriced. Cocktails itself was nice enough.

Went on my final day of vacation and had a wonderful experience! If you get the chance, check this place out!

While speakeasys often go to great lengths to hide, they are usually still traceable. However, "Door 74" might truly be a reflection of the Prohibition era. Arriving at the address on Google Maps, you'll be completely bewildered. There's nothing there. Yes, it's not a shop-in-shop, there's no sign or decoration, just a...door like your next-door neighbor's. However, stepping through the door reveals a completely different world: dim lighting and retro décor create a space that, though small, exudes a sense of history spanning a century. This bar, which ranked 33rd in World's Best Bars in 2015, still retains its impressive quality. While it does exhibit some of the overly sweetness often found in Western cocktails (which I believe stems from differences in Eastern and Western tastes), the signature cocktails, with their classic framework, and the classic cocktails using Genever gin, demonstrate a high level of balance and structure. Although it gained its name over a decade ago, and perhaps isn't a particularly gimmicky or Instagrammable establishment, its legitness and commitment to preserving the Prohibition-era speakeasy culture make it well worth a visit, offering a genuine contrast between the two worlds.

Amsterdam's best known secret. It's good to know that the skill and art of mixology is still alive here. Great staff, especially Julia. The drinks weren't made cheap, and to top it off, the music kept the vibe right. You can easily have a conversation with anyone here.

Incredible experience, the staff is truly kind and professional. We had a small hiccup and were extended three hours (the shift, as we were told upon leaving, lasts 1.5 hours). The staff is so high-quality that we weren't told anything. I honestly think it's the best cocktail bar I've ever been to in terms of the quality of the experience, and I'd definitely like to return, but I'll stick to the time limits this time. :)

Door 74 runs on exclusivity because their main experience of curated cocktails falls flat! Waiter was quite nice and attended us warmly. We were ushered into what seemed like a great night however when the drinks arrived they were so one dimensional and NOT AT ALL WORTH ALL THE HYPE and PRICE! I have had pleasure of trying cocktails at lot of places and these cocktails are easily in bottom 3. Save your money and night and don’t go here.

Epic bar. Social, open until 3am, and overall a fun time. Unique cocktails that were quite tasty with various flavors and interesting serving cups. Good for small groups or just at the bar.

We arrived couple of minutes late for our reservation and after waiting another 10 minutes in front of the door the host finally opened and greeted us extremely unfriendly and impolite. We walked away and dediced never to return.

An exceptional speakeasy, truly hidden (even with the address, we would have suspected it if we hadn't seen people going in). The atmosphere is dim, with a touch of the 1920s. The cocktails are meticulously crafted, both in presentation and flavor. Some truly wonderful discoveries. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. A great time for couples or friends. Okay, so my wife and I booked in for some cocktails and had a fantastic experience. Our tender, originally from Greece, was insightful and friendly. The menu was extensive and well explained. The knowledge behind the mix was fantastic. Overall, a romantic and wonderful experience.

Very much enjoyed my time here and came back for another - the other speakeasies in the area were subpar. Had great service and a good variety on the menu. No food, wish there were a couple of tapas or some snack. We came by on our honeymoon without a reservation and they were PACKED. When they heard it was our honeymoon they went above and beyond. We got the best seats in the house where the bartender provided amazing personalized service. I absolutely, 100% hands down record this bar.

We sat at the bar. The drinks were not bad and we like the concept of the menu. However, the service was very disappointed. The bartender spill the drink on me when he was doing the shake and my pant was full of alcohol. He didn’t even apologise and the other staff were laughing and making fun of him instead of offering help or getting a new drink for me. The service could have way much better when it is costing like $20 a cocktail.

Stumbled upon this wonderful speakeasy - it had such a creative menu (that changes periodically) - this one had drinks aligned with the stages of life from innocence to rebellion to exploration. The drinks were as creative as the menu - lots of great bars in Amsterdam but certainly one to put on the list.

I can say it's an interesting place; very small but with a very nice atmosphere. On the other hand, there's a queue outside in the very cold weather, but nobody inside, I think they're making people wait unnecessarily. Apart from that, the service quality inside is extremely good. There's a huge difference between the cocktails; some are truly excellent, but others are well below average.

The drinks are good. The atmosphere is great. But the service is too dutch. The waitress genuinely does not care and does not even try to pretend you are welcomed. We went out to smoke and to get back I called the bell like 10 times before she finally opened the door. And when she did she also said "one time is enough". Really? Is this what you call a "passionate hospitality team"? UPD: So I wrote a letter to info@finddoor74.com as suggested below, and surely no one has answered for already a week now. The irony 😁

The first cocktail we had off the menu was lovely! But… The vibe is off. We were there from 630-730 and it just felt like you were being watched.The staff member that greeted us at the door was lovely! And made us feel very welcome. However, The second cocktail I asked for was a banana daiquiri. ( it is a cocktail bar ! ) I was told “no! We only do the menu or classics, you can have a plain daiquiri”. In my opinion it isn’t hard to make a daiquiri flavoured… we opted for a spicy margarita which wasn’t that good. Bill was 80 euro for 4 cocktails. I regret going here. It also felt like certain customers were getting preferential treatment. When all customers should be treated the same. Don’t go here and spend your money elsewhere.

The most expensive mediocrity of my life.

I came here without a reservation, and the staff member at the door told us to wait about half an hour and then come back for a table. I specifically asked whether we needed to make a reservation, because I didn’t want to return and find out there still wouldn’t be a table available. He told us it wasn’t necessary. We came back half an hour later, but a different staff member opened the door and told us we would need to wait another half an hour. When we explained that we had already waited 30 minutes based on what the first staff member told us, he simply repeated that the table still wasn’t ready and that we should wait again, without acknowledging the situation or offering an apology. I work in the hospitality industry myself, and I understand that mistakes can happen. However, not acknowledging a mistake or showing basic courtesy toward customers is disappointing. Because of how this was handled, they lost a potential customer. With the bar open until 3 a.m., I came in ready to stay, relax, and spend money with business partners. The dismissive response made it an easy decision to take my business elsewhere

Lovely bar setting with great lighting, music and atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming staff. The cocktails themselves were very creative conceptually and beautifully presented. I picked badly but my husband loved his! Definitely need to book - others without a reservation were being turned away.

Absolutely great bar, the drinks are all made to an exceptionally high quality. All of the staff tonight were very friendly, knowledgable on the menu, and took pride in their work. The menu is so creative, alternatively the speak easy will help you find a drink you would like. A must visit! Ps - the bar has no sign, press the bell and someone will let you in!

Honestly was so excited when we sat down and looked at the menu in here. Extremely pricey but the concept is good so we were willing to pay. Our booking was for 10pm, we arrived early and were told it wasn’t a problem, there were plenty seats when we sat down. We chose a booth and proceeded to watch the two guys sat at the bar get two rounds of drinks in before anyone even took our order. We had been sat 45 minutes before we got our first drink. On a Saturday night I would say this is excusable but this was a Monday evening. Shocking service, would not recommend at 17-20 euros a cocktail you would expect decent service

The atmosphere of the place was nice and felt very welcoming. Honestly I felt a bit upset, considering I had reserved in advance and also added to the reservation note that it’s my birthday at 00.00. Our reservation time had then ended and we were asked to pay (discrite, not uncomfortable but a bit upsetting on a birthday). I don't expect freebies, but a ‘congratulations’ would’ve been nice, considering 2 cocktails were 40 Euros.

Had a fantastic evening at Door 74 yesterday night. The cocktails were amazing, the atmosphere very special and the staff wonderful. Although we had some last minute changes, the staff made everything so smooth and professional, and so incredibly friendly. We loved every bit of the evening! To be continued!

Came here after researching bars in Amsterdam, dropped by alone on a Thursday evening. Giulia opened the door and told me it's full, to come in 30-60 min back, she might have a seat. Came back, seat was empty and I had an amazing drink accompanied by the best staff (Thanks again Giulia!). Decided to drop by the next day to have another 2 drinks. That day, Tim was also there who was super nice. Him and Giulia made my nights in Amsterdam! Make sure to have a reservation, otherwise you might need to wait in queue.

I would put this a must-do when visiting. Great atmosphere and experience, along with awesome cocktail menu that will take you on a journey.

An intimate, speakeasy-style bar (hidden) and super elegant for an adult crowd, with a team of charming and professional bartenders. Excellent cocktails with special ingredients and combinations! The bar has no signage with a name (on purpose) - and it's easy to miss it... It is recommended to book a place in advance.

A delicious cocktail experience in a mysterious ambiance.

This cocktail bar exudes class without being aloof. Every cocktail is crafted with precision; my whiskey sour had perfect foam, fresh citrus notes, and a smooth finish. The service is professional, smiling, and attentive. The music is subtle yet atmospheric. Prices are a bit higher, but that reflects the quality. You sense that craftsmanship takes precedence over show here.

It's a speakeasy bar, easily to miss it. Ring the bell once you find the door, and the staff will come out to greet. Had better make a reservation before heading as it's a popular bar! Staff are friendly. Although we need to share table with other customers, the vibe is still cozy and comfortable. They provide a wide range of cocktails, all are special. I like their menu! Clearly describe the drink and its price. Really love Aztec Arcade, the coconut rum and umeboshi are made to ice cube, so the flavor are gradually merged into the tequila. Very creative!

Nice place, great service and staff. Very small and cosy, i thought it was missing a bit of atmosphere, which would have been improved with music.

A very cool location with exceptional cocktails. The concept is that it's designed in the style of a speakeasy, so you have to search for the door. Make a reservation! It's difficult to get in without one. The service is very qualified and friendly. Ask for advice and try new flavors. There are variations here that you won't find anywhere else. In my opinion, it's rightfully been voted one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the world several times.
