An amazing cocktail bar in the heart of Amsterdam. A local friend suggested it to try during my stay. From the outside you wouldn't tell there's a bar because there's no sign and it looks like a normal building entrance. But once you go in it's a different story. The place is beautiful and classic. The staff were nice and friendly. The cocktails were amazing and the service was quick and excellent. I highly recommend it for a night out.

Everything was fine until he was suddenly kicked out of the place. They said there are pending reservations, get up, and threw the bill in front of us. I've been to almost all European countries and this is the first time I've encountered something like this.

Spent new years eve there, the most amazing staff, happy, enthusiastic, helpful. Small cozy place, all guests seemed happy. Highly recommended for a night out.

I had very high expectations coming here, it seems to be fully booked all the time and a “impossible to get a table” image is given to this place as it has its own special cocktails and cozy environment. It’s not a bad spot but it’s not what anyone expects when going there whatsoever. Firstly, they do not pick up their phone calls at all. When you are late 15 minutes they serve your spot to someone-else DIRECTLY. The place is extremely small and everyone is squished in, you need to share tables with RANDOM people if you are not a group of 4. The staff is somewhat friendly but also not really at the same time. The cocktails were fine but nothing really special, that especially did not live up-to my expectations, also very small for 18 euros, a bit more than a shot. It tasted like a cherry vodka mix you do at home. So overall maybe not an extremely disastrous place and its alright but the marketing for this place is not what it is and the prices do not match what you get, I would rather go to W hotel rooftop to drink an actually decent cocktail for that price. Not to mention, theres a seat next to the entrance that was our reserved spot, we sat in the doorway and were told that was our spot. My intention is not to slander this bar at all, I just want people to know what to expect before going there !

The bar has a very cool theme. A little mysterious from the start as the setting gives you the feeling of getting into a secret club. In contrast, everyone working there was super nice. The menu itself is amazing, well thought and well finished. And the cocktails are creative.

Excellent hidden bar with delicious cocktails and the whole atmosphere felt luxurious. Definitely highly recommend it if you're looking for a classy cocktail drinking experience.

A NYE we won't be forgetting 🍾🥂 🌵🥃 Loved the subtle, speak easy entrance (there aren't any signs so keep an eye out for a green door - the Google pin is accurate) The place had great ventilation, a great selection of beverages in their new years package, bathrooms were clean and the acoustics/music wasn't deafening... If you're looking for a hidden gem to have a couple of drinks at post dinner, this definitely the place to be... Special thank you to ALL the staff, for accommodating us till the crazy hours 🙏🏼🐼🤍 Will definitely be back for some Mezcal, before heading out🌵🥃

Our experience with this cocktail bar was downright disappointing. We wanted to walk in at 6:00 PM without a reservation, but the hostess immediately gave us the impression that nothing was possible. When we asked about available time slots, we didn't get a clear answer. To our surprise, we saw that there was a table available for two times two people, but not for three people. This came across as unnecessarily rigid and customer unfriendly. The attitude of the front hostess made it even worse. Not only did she respond rudely, but she seemed completely uninterested in finding a solution. Her arrogant and condescending way of communicating made us feel completely unwelcome. A bar that goes to such lengths to appear exclusive should offer at least a basic level of hospitality. This was unfortunately a major disappointment, and I won't be visiting this place again anytime soon.

Just WOW! This is officially our favourite bar in Amsterdam now! George,Ardita (I am so sorry if spelling it wrong) and Julia simply made the night out so special. Great host, great service, best old fashioned ever, amazing cocktails and presentation. We felt like home. Cosy, welcoming. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning! I want to like this place. Cocktails are tasty but 90% Ice block. Volume is also important, and not talking Antarctica Monolythic Ice blocks. Love a speakeasy, but its for the American Tourists. Like the drinks, some great ideas, and good location, but Eur 70 for 4 drinks of mostly ice, moving on ;).

Secret bars and speakeasies are something else. The environment does not involve the customer in the slightest, it is a place like many others, very small, with a very small bathroom. The drinks aren't bad, there's some effort behind it. In my opinion, the high prices don't just justify the drinks, there are nicer pubs

I had high expectations for Door 74, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the biggest disappointment. My friends and I stopped by after a restaurant visit to continue celebrating my birthday, and here’s what we experienced: 1. Artificial Waiting Line: Despite empty tables inside, we were kept outside for at least 10 minutes. It felt like they were trying to create a false sense of exclusivity. 2. Dull Atmosphere: The vibe was far from lively. Low-volume music and uninspired decor left us underwhelmed. 3. Needs a Refresh: The interior, walls, and overall space desperately need some attention and care. 4. Underwhelming Cocktails: As a passionate cocktail lover, I was very disappointed. The drinks lacked creativity and flavor. 5. Poor Ventilation: We were seated near the restroom, and the smell was unpleasant—definitely not what you expect from a so-called high-end bar. Overall, Door 74 did not live up to its reputation. I would not recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a memorable or celebratory experience.

We had a great time celebrating a birthday and made new friends here. The cocktails were amazing and service was wonderful and personable. The space could use a little updating to elevate the experience even more.

Great atmosphere and vibe! The entrance is so hard to find it’s exciting. The lady on the door sat us down and welcomed us and then gave us a better table when some one cancelled. The drinks are delicious and really different to traditional cocktail bars. The bar tender cleaned our drinks quicker then we asked but then gave us a free shot to say thanks. Beautiful inside and highly recommend for a pre or post dinner drink.

I’ve been trying to get inside for a while, it’s really unique cocktail bar, it has everything looking different, the drinks, the vibe everything about it is different but really good drinks, it’s a little cozy inside and a bit tight but overall it’s a good place. Keep in mind you have to make a reservation in advance 👍🏼

Definitely one of the best cocktail bars in Amsterdam, interesting preparations and a lot of creativity, the whole menu is just fascinating. Amazing staff, I had a great night thanks to the lovely Andeta and Ozzy who took care of us and Jorge operating on the bar.

Specifically looked for a hidden gem of a bar in Amsterdam and here we found it. Fantastic music playlist compliments the vibe. The drink menu in book form was a lot of fun. The drinks we had were fabulous. If we are ever in the area again, it's a must stop!

The service is very bad and I don't know why. The place is nice, but the bar staff are very rude. They laugh with you at first, but then their behavior changes after you pay.

No logo no branding in front, Door 74 is a hidden gen of a speakeasy that captures the vibes of the Prohibition era with a modern twist. Dim lighting and warm decorations create an cozy atmosphere, such as perfect place for a night out. The cocktail menu which was created as a book is a highlight. The mixologist was showcasing his amazing mixing skills through every drinks. Such a true mixology artist! Holy Water is my favorite drink, as well as Jawa Juice! Service is attentive and giving a chill, comfortable vibes. Door 74 is a such delightful escape from our everyday, offering a unique blend of ambiance, exceptional drinks, and a touch of nostalgia!

Door74 did not disappoint. It's easily the best speakeasy I've ever been to. The hostess was great and personable. And I'm still thinking about the drinks. Also, the hostess' playlist passed the vibe check. Definitely check it out but make reservations!

Three hours later I still have a dominantly sweet taste in my mouth, something went wrong there. The bar chairs are very uncomfortable and clumsy. The whole thing makes a dilapidated impression.

Hurts to give this place 2 stars. But the cocktails are soo sweet that the taste gets lost. The drinks have complex flavors but the sweetness over powers all of it. Service and atmosphere is wonderful.

The drinks were really good, the staff were very friendly. I love the idea of all the drinks being based off of doors, real and unreal. The only thing I would say was a con is since I was solo I was seated at the bar (even with a reservation so I did not want to ask to move) and the bar stools are SO uncomfortable as a short person.

Nice and cozy. Excellent secret cocktail bar with a good selection of signature cocktails. You just need to know where the entrance is and there you go, no password required. Cocktails are really good, but maybe I had too high expectations and as an enthusiast of the genre or fan at least, I expected a little bit more. Don't get me wrong, this place is still way better than any cocktail bar you can find around, but if we could give more precise scores in Maps, I would give a 9+. The only negative note I encountered: no snacks were given to us to eat while drinking. A couple of peanuts or something similar wouldn't have minded me. I hope to be back in the next few months and try more from their list! Cheers

Interesting and innovative cocktail selection, it is just a pity that reservations are 'timed', so at some point you just need to leave for some other customers. The bartenders were very friendly and can help you make a good choice.

The location is quite central but difficult to find. You really enter from a hidden place. The cocktails are quite satisfying and the atmosphere is stylish.

We were very excited to look for “the door”...and we weren't disappointed! Of course you read briefly about the bad reviews - but we were in no way able to confirm them. The spontaneous and exciting reception is super nice and accommodating. Without a reservation, we still got a comfortable place for two people. Very nice atmosphere, care is taken to ensure that everyone has a place and that it is well filled but not overcrowded. Everyone who works there clearly has fun at the counter and “door”. Of course, around 15-18€ for a cocktail is steep... but our cocktails were really extremely tasty. The sophisticated cocktail recipes are self-created and lovingly mixed to perfection. The menu is creatively designed and the drinks are explained in corresponding flavors...so you already know which direction you're going in if you're there for the first time and don't know what to choose. All in all: definitely dare to look for “the door” and enjoy a phenomenal cocktail.

A hidden gem where you can find great cocktails! The place is really cosy and has an intimate vibe. They have a nice selection of coctkails and all we tried were delicious. Would also recommend to make a reservation :)

I wanted to visit this place for a while and finally I went there today. The atmosphere was fun but the service horrible. We had good cocktails and great time with a group of 10 people at one table. When leaving, two friends paid for themselves and when it was my turn, I was denied the option to pay 28€ for my two cocktails. The lady who looked like the main hostess/door lady said she can’t split for everyone. She should’ve said that before we started ordering. It put us in a very umcomfortable situation as not everyone knew each other and it’s also not given that one person could afford to pay such amount for everyone. The barman was unkind too. After some time finally another lady agreed to offer me an option to pay. I could leave that place once and for good.

It took us a minute to find the door, which, in true speakeasy form, is rather hidden and discreet. But once inside, it was like a scene from Gatsby - great decor, great bartenders, and a great energy. Because its a speakeasy, there are no windows or natural light, but they have an AC which helps on warm days. The drinks are inventive, though on the sweet side (personally, I prefer savory or very tart drinks over sweet). However, the bartenders can make you any other normal cocktail, and I had one of the best dirty martinis in Amsterdam when I asked. The atmosphere is also not too loud, so you can carry on a conversation without having to shout at your companions. I don't think they serve food (I didn't see any place to stash a kitchen), but they give you some bar nuts to munch on with your drinks. We were there earlyish on a Saturday evening, and the place was buzzing but not full; I overheard the staff telling others that they tend to be busiest on Mondays, since they're one of the few establishments that are actually open. Make reservations!

It true speakeasy form- it’s not easy to find. But ring the doorbell and you’ll enter into a wonderfully fun and delicious experience. The service was great, the drinks were inventive, and the atmosphere was cozy and fun.

One of the first speakeasy's in Europe. Good vibe, great location - in the happening area of Amsterdam. The drinks are nice and complex, though not with any unique ingredients.

We came for the cocktails and they were as promised, exciting and delicious. I would recommend reserving a table as it is nice to know you have a place to sit. Everything we got to drink was a taste experience. I think the place was boiling hot and therefore uncomfortable because of the high temperature. We needed some kind of ventilation to be able to endure it. The toilets were disgusting and dirty even though we came within a few hours of the bar's opening hours. The staff were nice and there was service at the tables, which was nice as the place was small and cramped. The service was also fast and responsive.
