The waitress's attention has been excellent, a delight, they are very friendly and helpful. And the cocktails are also very good. Recommended, the place is small but very cozy.

Update, got back! Both me and my friend got the promised free drkn. Also had a bless with the bar tenders. Thanks a lot! From 1 to 5 stars. — Went through a horrible rain flood to get her on a wednesday. Says here it should be open but it is closed… annoying

Great cocktails, fun and casual ambience

Probably one of the best cocktails in Amsterdam. Spice Rack Punch, Peach Fuzz, Hot Corn Sour were my favourites. It’s a small space so we had to stand for the first cocktails in the middle withouta table but time flies when cocktails are great!

The gentlemen who served us at Vesper tonight were so incredibly kind. I am temporarily in a wheelchair and they went above and beyond to accommodate my limited mobility. They also shared some wonderful food recommendations. If you are a cocktail fan, these folks will treat you very well and serve you a great drink. Thank you so much for making my birthday a special one!

Consistently good for the last 5 years. I go to many cocktail bars in general, this is my favorite one in the entire world. Yeah, the atmosphere is great. But the cocktails, which you are there for, are just sublime

Stumbled on this place on our way from dinner. A cute little corner cocktail bar. Sat at the bar & watched in awe at the skill of the barman & his attention to detail. Did the classics but had a really creative menu of their own cocktail inventions. The most unique (in a good way) Old Fashioned I have ever had & a creation with Mezcal & Sichuan pepper that was divine. All served with a bit of fun & humour. A good place that I'm sure will become our nightcap go to for the duration of our stay.

The atmosphere is great and so are the drinks. They have a good menu of cocktails, but you can go off menu as well.

Cool cocktail bar just off the Haarlemmerdijk. Friendly vibe, high quality. Just had a really good old fashioned here, what can I say. It hit the spot. Will come back more often

Do you ever go out and your surroundings make you feel displaced? Well forget that. In fact, let this bar help you forgetting it. The barkeeper is an angel, the drinks are fantastic and it feels like an extension of your very own home - or just like the place you needed right now. Get in here, but keep it low low - so this stays just as perfect as it is.

Very very good cocktails and very nice place

A really nice bar, tasty drinks with a chill vibe. Bonus points are the friendly and funny knowledgeable staff that is ready to help/advice you. Unfortunately after ordering our drinks a big loud group came in so it ruined our experience a bit (not the bar's fault!) But till they got there (and after they left), we were super happy and relaxed. They have their own cocktails but if you don't like to adventure, they mix you the classics as well. Thank you guys for taking such great care of us. We will be back for another date night.

After being there the second time I feel I don’t really get the concept of this bar. You pay for the water and nuts that get placed in front of you without being asked, maybe I’m being picky but personally I liked to be informed when I pay for a side water or a a small snack that would go with a cocktail in other places. When asking about a drink they served a few weeks ago we got a weird uninterested answer. Usually I would expect someone who is working in a bar like that to be passionate or willing to have a conversation about a drink. The Ambience is cozy and I’m a fan of how the bottles and accessories are arranged- so many details to explore. I also love the Glasware and the design of the drink menu. The rest of the room is held simple and you have space like projections on the ceiling which collided a bit with the style of the bar area - but if you are looking for a casual Cocktailbar that's well located check it out.

we came here for drinks pre dinner and Joop the bartender was so wonderful!!! the cocktails were delicious, we tried a tiramisu one which was insane! the bar itself had such a nice vibe and atmosphere. we ended up coming back after our dinner because we had such a lovely time and Joop remembered us and was so happy to see us! he is the best bartender i have ever met!

A classy but not too exclusive bar where you can drink delicious cocktails. The nice thing is that at Vesper you choose your favorite drink based on a matrix: from strong to light and from sour to sweet.

Really nice cocktails. Has an mid-2010s vibe that I'm nostalgic for and struggle to properly describe. Definitely a sit and drink and chill for hours sort of place, they take time to make great cocktails so don't come in a rush.

If you’re in Amsterdam, do yourself a huge favor and visit Vesper - especially if you’re a real fan of real gin, or genever, or jenever. Or whatever! The menu is delicious. I visited Vesper twice during my trip to Amsterdam. Each night, a very different experience. Both were met with a hospitable warm welcome, a cozy atmosphere, and fine craft cocktails where gin is supreme. Food: (drinks!) On my 1st visit, I enjoyed Vesper’s Negroni. Smooth. Easy to drink more than one. While the small space was standing room only when we arrived, once a seat cleared up they brought us a small bowl of bar snacks, common at respectable craft bars in Amsterdam. During the second visit, it started off with us saying, “just one drink” and ended up with us shutting the place down with the bartenders over patron shots. It started off gently with their signature, Vesper - sweet and refreshing, and espresso martini - bold. Then I opened my mouth and we were there until until 2 trying whatever bartender Airto recommended, and you’re in good hands when the bartender takes over! Service: On both occasions the bartender’s made us feel at home with Joop greeting us at the door with a warm welcome as if we met before and we just stepped into his home. He cares about his customers as much as his neighbors in his quaint, quiet neighborhood. On the second night, our drinks were in the safe hands of Airto. He took great care of us, explaining each drink he crafted. Expanding our knowledge and taste of gin with not one, but two variations of jenever, and old style genever. Ambiance: You never know what you’re going to get when you visit Vesper-hospitality and fine cocktails aside. Sure it’s cute and quaint with a surprise basement in the floor. I implore you to make nice with your bartenders, explore off menu, be ready to stand, stay awhile to soak up the space, good music, and smooth drinks. I cannot wait for the next opportunity to return and enjoy more of Vesper. Thank you for the generous hospitality and warm welcome by the Vesper staff on the Friday & Saturday of November 11, 2023 of this last visit.

This place makes me feel very 'homey'. Drinks are full of flavour and spice, and alcohol of course. The barmen pay attention to you in a way I'm not used to since living in Amsterdam... Most places just ignore you and treat you as a nuisance, this place makes you feel like you've been going there years! Great place to chat with people, big sense of community! Love it! ❤️🤘🏻

Un vrai bar à cocktails avec des vrais barmen. Ambiance chaleureuse et feutrée. Prix raisonnable. Cocktails parfaitement dosés. Le maître des lieux, James, est sympa, efficace et il parle français. Bref a recommander surtout si vous avez été déçu par les bars enfumés peuplés de zombies !

I can’t recommend this cocktail bar, there are definitely better bars in the area. What I liked about the place: lighting (starts projection on the ceiling) and page in the menu where all drinks were placed on the chart based on their sweetness and strength level. Why 3 stars: cocktails are not good, they all seem to be watery with poor flavour. You can get drunk from them but you cant enjoy the taste. Also, the atmosphere is not very cozy

Very nice cocktail bar, great atmosphere and good cocktails. Only drawback is that they don’t serve food, not even nuts. Plenty of options around though if needed.

The lighting fixtures are outstanding and great for taking photos. Most of the cocktails on the wine list are sweet and refreshing. Highly recommended

Vesper’s drinks and atmosphere are amazing but on my last visit (end of July/August) I was made feel slightly unwelcome for trying to order a fruity, vodka-based drink off the menu - was told “vodka isn’t a flavour” and felt bartender was scoffing at me. I really enjoyed everything else about my 2 visits here, but won’t be returning.

Really friendly staff and a brilliant menu. We had a quick visit and they were so good. Good crowd in and great music playing - wish we had time to stay longer!

Love this place. Was in town and looking for a good meal and this place delivered. Letizia is the best at the bar - she really took care of me. Not just a “if you are in the area” place - it’s worth going out of your way for.

Nice cocktail bar! All the classics are good, serving is good, I’ve try gin sour and martini, all legit. The interior is not my type but definitely well done. The atmosphere is chill and easy. Bartender can be creative and fun.

All cocktails are amazing. reinterpretations of classic cocktails, pleasant and welcoming service. I've visited this bar several times and there's always a pleasant surprise! The menu changes sporadically, making each visit at different times a unique experience.

We came to Vesper after our friend recommended we try a “down the rabbit hole” cocktail. It didn’t disappoint! So we had another! Huge thanks to Ricardo for his kindness. We will certainly be back.
