We had an amazing experience last night thanks to the lovely bartender. We went on 28/9. The variety of cocktails makes sure there is something for everyone. I had the milky oolong soda cocktail it was so unique and delicious. But most of all the service was what stood out to us most. Thanks to this place for a memorable evening!

A small and charming place serving perfectly prepared cocktails with the right ingredients. Comfortable atmosphere and excellent service. Reservations are essential given the limited seating available. Prices are reasonable.

We had reservations on Sept 10, 2025, and the staff was able to change my time to a later time. We did not have any food but we enjoyed the cocktails - excellent cocktails (Flying Dutchman and Rocky Rumhattan). I had a folding wheelchair and the staff was able to help me bring my wheelchair inside and they let me use the toilet on the same level as the bar. I truly appreciate the staff in accommodating my special needs. We had a wonderful experience, I highly recommend this cocktail bar.

REALLY great cocktails. The professionalism mixed with how well crafted these drinks were, impressed me very much. I loved all the different spins they put on classic cocktails. It was tiny but still made for a great time. For sure give Flying Dutchmen your business!

This spot is pure vibes.. Cocktails.. Next-level, like legit liquid art. The bartenders know their craft and keep the energy flowing all night. The whole place just radiates good times — chill, classy, and fun without trying too hard. Hospitality? 100/10. If you’re in Amsterdam and don’t hit this place up, you’re seriously missing out.

I hosted birthday drinks for my partner here, with a group of 11. Everyone was super helpful, especially when it came to cutting the cake and handing it out! Cocktails were great too, definitely will be back to try other cocktails. One thing that was a bit sad ( but totally understandable) is that we had to leave exactly after 2 hours as another big group was coming and we couldn’t stay in the bar area. Regardless, it was a great experience!

So far it was the best bar when it goes to cocktail quality that I have been to. Also their infused water was something unexpected and incredible. It is small and has very nice atmosphere. They try to use all the space available, which may make sitting not 100% comfortable. One of the bartenders/ waiters was a little bit chaotic but the rest of the stuff was amazing. Overall, even with some minor flaws I can recommend the experience in 100%!

It's a nice bar, with unique and delicious cocktails. On our last visit, my wife's cocktail was spilled and arrived half-full. We noticed it when the same cocktail was served to the table next to us.

The bar is actually really impressive. Well-crafted cocktails and an insane selection of spirits. Unfortunately you can only book slots and the service personnel is quite harsh enforcing them. We‘ve been a group of 8 and would have spent plenty more, but had to leave after our time was up. Also, next to our group there was a table that has apparently been reserved and people were sent away multiple times despite no one showing up for the entire 2 hours we‘ve been there. The seating area also isn’t very comfortable and inviting. Rather tight, especially for larger groups. I would recommend taking one or two of their fantastic cocktails and then moving down into the Belly of the Beast. Way more atmosphere, fantastic snacks and service and overall an amazing experience!

The drinks were very good. I really liked the atmosphere and vibe. You should probably call ahead as the place is very tight with a bar section, 4 tables and 2 couches. We were lucky that there was space. You can get everything from affordable drinks to drinks that cost $500+ The flying Dutchman drink was a good choice. Starts sour and ends crisp.

Great overall concept with a stylish vibe and top-notch service. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to mix custom cocktails or offer expert recommendations. Drinks aren’t cheap, but absolutely worth the price for the quality you get.

We had a lovely time at Flying Dutchmen! When we arrived at our appointment time, they didn’t have a table ready for us due to an oversight. The server immediately sprung into action and more than made it up to us by providing us free sparkling wine at the bar downstairs (Belly of the Beast) while she waited for a table to open up upstairs. She made sure we got the best seat in the house, right by the open window which was lovely, and also gave us free shots of the house punch (delicious!). Thanks for treating us so well on a surprisingly busy night!!!

I went for a drink at Flying Dutchmen Cocktails late one afternoon. The place is renowned, ranked among the best cocktail spots in town, but unfortunately my experience didn't live up to the hype. When you arrive, the backbar, with its huge selection of bottles, is impressive. It's small, very small. The space is confined: a few high tables or a communal bench. You quickly feel cramped, almost cramped. And the ambient sound doesn't help: the music is loud, which makes conversations difficult. My cocktail left a bitter taste, nothing exceptional for the relatively high price. I found the place suffered from a significant contrast between its reputation and the reality. The place is clearly overrated: between the lines (some people even drink their cocktails in the waiting seats), imagination starts to take over from the real experience. The music is loud, the atmosphere noisy, the space cramped—it's far from the soothing and immersive atmosphere expected for enjoying elaborate cocktails. Clearly, some regulars enjoy it, but I came away disappointed. Ultimately, despite some good cocktail ideas, nothing outstanding. Perhaps you should opt for the ground floor space where the menu is different but the atmosphere is much calmer.

Wonderful experience! The team working on 6/29 were very welcoming, friendly and clearly loved their craft. They made masterful cocktails, at a level you’d expect in any great cocktail bar. This is a real gem in an already exceptional cocktail city.

At Flying Dutchmen Cocktails we had the Lavender Honey Sour and the Pink Chihuahua (which we later asked to change because it was definitely not what the flavor profiles were describing but that was rectified by another bartender) 🍹.. and we then got to order the Division Bell instead. And because of the longer wait, our friendly bartender offered us Mezcal shots🔥 which were very nice and smooth! And I couldn't help it.. I had to order the British Milk Punch 💥 really really nice! Always so funny to know that this cocktailprocess was clarified with milk🥛 At the Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, there concept is that they let you experience different takes on the classics and you get to taste the evolutions🙌🏽

The service here was exceptional, you felt special to be there. The drinks were fantastic and so many to choose from as well as happy to provide all the classic cocktails. It's only a small space, but this added to the atmosphere. We felt like we'd found a little hidden gem.

Im born and raised in Amsterdam and this is hands down the best cocktail bar I tried in this city. The waitress were nice and the menu is creative and tasty!

Absolutly a recommendation. The service is nice, entertaining, polite and quick. The bartender know their craft and more importantly: their ingredients. We had the luck to sit at the bar in front of the COO and watch her do her magic. Professional, brilliant and a time to remember.

The bar was amazing. The biggest bar I personally ever seen with such a big variety of alcohol. Their classic cocktail with genevver and lime/lemon was nice. The Piccadilly martini was very strong and had an awesome flavor. I recommend it 100%. You should come early maybe 5 minutes before it opens to have a great spot in the corner.

The bartender's skills leave a lot to be desired, I was sitting at the bar and several times she flung drinks in my face and on my camera which was on the table... The bar table was sticky and not very clean, as were the glasses. What doesn't make sense is that a 20 euro deposit is required to make a reservation, I had a drink for 15 euros and at first a male waiter said he could refund me 5 euros but the female bartender disagreed, they said the minimum spend was 20 euros but this wasn't indicated on the page where you pay the deposit or on the menu! It was infuriating! I had to tell them that I didn't really like the ambience or the wine (which was really very average), and they wisecracked that they hadn't thought that anyone would have just one glass of wine, which was very rude!

Great cocktails, great vibe and good service. We arrived spontaneously and were seated immediately. We didn’t realize we’d arrived as an Italian mixologist was about to serve up his signature cocktails. They bought us the special menu after having the menu cocktails first and ordered all of them. The special guest mixologist came to us, explained his drinks and took the time to make us all feel welcome. Great vibe, great experience. Will definitely be back

There's an Instagrammable wall of backlit drinks bottles towering over the bar. Otherwise a very 'meh' experience. The room is as wide as the bar and almost as deep. Ironically not very Dutch-feeling as all the staff seemed to hail from the USA along with most of the punters. We only stayed for one cocktail each as they weren't very well executed and once you've seen the wall of bottles there's very little to hold you here.

The bartenders were able to identify and craft cocktails perfectly suited to our unique tastes.

This is a gorgeous bar that serves delicious and creative drinks! The menu has a very fun concept and the decor and theme inside really gives off an amazing ambiance! This is a perfect speak easy type of bar to chill late night and enjoy a delicious cocktail drink! The interior is small and cozy, so perfect for a date or a small group of friends!

Went for the drinks and the vibe. Left to the vibe being off and service with an attitude. Really wanted to love it but waiter could not be less interested in my all -drinking and ordering group group of 8. The space was beautiful and it’s a great location. But honestly, it came off pretentious.

Very nice atmosphere with relaxed staff. A lot of expertise and a beautiful arrangement of drinks. The price is more than fair when you consider the premium products that go into such a cocktail. My favorite bar in the Netherlands!

Expensive and average cocktails.

Before traveling to Amsterdam, I always want to try the best places—the best cocktail bars, according to the internet. This place did not disappoint. Everything, from the drinks to the art on the ceiling, was absolutely majestic. It's a beautiful, small place that everyone should try on their trip. I highly recommend it. We walked in without reservations and only waited about 20 minutes at the downstairs bar. They accommodated us quickly. I will be back for sure.

Living in New York, I have very high standards when it comes to cocktails, but this place blew me away. Not only was the staff so friendly and kind, but the drinks tasted phenomenal. They had unique recipes that I’ve never seen before in drinks! I will definitely be recommending this bar to all of my friends and when I come back, will definitely be stopping by again. Lastly, make sure you book a reservation to ensure you can get seated.

okay… unfortunately, i just wasn’t as impressed as i thought i would be. I read that this place was a cool, woman-owned cocktail bar that focused on elevated classics and cocktail history. my first red flag was that not a single woman was working 🫣 Anyways, the service and vibes were just not as elevated as i was expecting. Also, the hour and a half table limit just really flies by when the waiter only checks on you twice (i totally understand they are super busy but if you have a limit you really gotta be on it)

Overall an amazing place. If you want to try genever in a cocktail, their signature Flying Dutchmen is an absolute must. The other cocktails are also superb and each one comes with a story, and on top of that the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about drinks, kudos!

Quality has really gone down and prices gone up. If you charge top prices for drinks you better have top quality and attention to detail. The cocktails we got were literally 3 sips if you removed the ice and they were 18.5 euros each

The service is very bad even though I ordered a cocktail and they gave me wine! And the behavior of some of the employees was frankly bad even though it is a tourist place. Please choose a more kind staff to deal with customers 👍🏻

Great spot, but definitely make a reservation. The bar is cozy and intimate. The cocktails are out of this world (and they can pretty much make every cocktail alcohol-free if you want). The servers were very friendly and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend.

I cannot stress enough that you should absolutely book some time to visit this cocktail bar. If however you are fortunate as we were to get a seat then take time to read the menu,ask about the compass and look at the flavours and decisions made by this amazing team then enjoy an evening of taste and profiles .

I came on Friday evening, didn’t have a reservation and the bar was full. They managed to find me a seat. The barman knows the menu and a lot about cocktails. I had “Flying Dutchman cocktail” that i really enjoyed - it’s sweet and sour (15€). They updated their menu and now the cocktails are quite expensive.

The cocktails are very delicious, but they only have olives as a snack.
