Nice atmosphere, 60s music, amazing cocktails, especially the bird is the word, polite staff. I highly recommend it.

I came from France with my family. We had a lovely time here. The place is nice with a great selection of music, cocktails are excellent and original and we were welcomed by effortlessly nice people !

I visited this amazing little place 3 times on my recent visit! What an absolute gem - friendly, attentive staff, and incredible bartenders! I tried 5 drinks from the menu, but the “Shut the F@&$ Up George” may be my favorite! Thank you so much for your hospitality- I will return soon and tell everyone I know!

Drinks were perfectly balanced, staff was very friendly , definetly try the fried jalapeños, had to reorder because they were so good. Super cozy , perfect for chatting with your friends💞

Idk...big mid energy. It's an iPhone, not iPhone pro or iPhone SE If you've just graduated from beers, wines, etc. and have just started truly exploring cocktails, you might get wow'd but if you've experienced drinks that are technique driven, then it will leave you wanting more. The menu challenges the patron to look at the ingredients instead of asking "is the drink sweet" or "is it in a manly glass" but when you start reading, the ingredients seem elementary compared to cocktail bars in 2025 who seek greatness. It's possible the menu is simplified based on the wide variety of clientele, with different language needs. Unsure Anyhow, sharing to give people an idea if it'll be a good fit.

Stumbled in here on accident and had the best cocktail experience of the week. The staff was beyond kind and took time to sit and chat if you were willing. We tried four drinks. All of them are incredible and attention to detail is not overlooked. 12/10

Shout out to Antonio for (probably not) making and serving us the most amazing cocktails we tried! We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot. Antonio, if you see this, we appreciate you. Boss, if you see this, give him a raise. We had one non alcoholic and a 4 rum alcohol coctail, for which we paid around 24 euros. We also got snacks and two water bottles. Great price for value! I had an incredible time here! The service was truly exceptional from the moment we walked in. Our server, (nice shirt guy), was super knowledgeable and made a fantastic recommendation for a drink based on what I usually like. The atmosphere was lively, great music, loved the music choices. It's the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, or have a date night.

Gave us free snacks upon arrival, a bit strange flavours but definitely tasted homemade and enjoyed. Cocktails are €14-€20 ish. All very unique. The 3 servers were all very lovely and the bartender was working hard. Great dark and cozy atmosphere however quite close to other tables. Gave us water without asking and yummy free sweets with the bill. All in all lovely.

I’ve heard a lot about this place. But expectations (vs reality) was unexpectedly bad, though cocktails were good. But service((( we wanted to drink at least two cocktails but didn’t, because our waiter decided another and didn’t come to us after first cocktail too long

The staff are super nice and welcoming. The ambience is very cutesy, cozy, and full of good vibes. The drinks felt quite fancy — the menu can be a bit tricky to understand, but the staff are always happy to explain and help out. Water comes complimentary with your drink, which explains the €16 price tag. Overall, it was fun, cute, and I loved it. Definitely recommend!

What a weird place no atmosphere, cocktails menu super awkward didn’t know what to order. Place has potential . Bar tender friendly and knew his company cocktails unfortunately the food was mua mua. Not a place the to drink and spend some time with good food. Just didn’t get good vibes.

Very good experience at the Tales&Spirits, the maître d’ was very nice, welcoming and funny. The cocktails were very good. Unpictured here but we also ordered some bitterballen which were delicious. Free crackers while we order, free water (SPA) with your cocktail to stay hydrated, each cocktail is between 10 and 20€. Highly recommend for anyone over 21 who are looking for an experience.

Phenomenal bar, beautifully staffed by loving people, serving drinks that do not taste as strong as you‘d expect. That’s the simplest explanation. We walked in the door, had a quick chat with one of the staff, and asked if the 5 of us could sit somewhere for a couple of drinks. They said absolutely, and promptly pointed us to an available picnic-bench outside. They sat us down, handed us some menus and a small bowl with a handful of nut-crisps accompanied with an amazing chutney. The menus are beautifully crafted, and really felt like they had care put into them. The artwork and the vibe fit in perfectly with the place. The staff were caring, kind, and very happy to joke about and laugh with us all. They recommended us drinks, answered questions, and accompanied us the whole night. Really made us feel totally welcome. The drinks. Oh, god, where do I begin. You can expect to spend over €15 per cocktail here. But it‘s so worth it. We ended up spending just over €60 per person, so we ordered about 3 cocktails each with a bit of food to share. I had 2 Shin-Chans and a La Muerta, my partner had 2 Girl-Next-Doors followed by 2 La Muertas, and our friends ordered a handful of other drinks for themselves. My Shin-Chans were truly fantastic, so flavourful, easily my favourite cocktail in the world. Next comes the La Muerta. Strong, smoky, sweet, spicy. Absolute flavourbomb. I would seriously recommend you order one. I cannot speak for the others‘ drinks, I have pretty much completely forgotten most details from that night, despite sharing drinks amongst ourselves. But they are convinced they were delicious, so I‘ll take their word for it. Absolute 10/10 bar.

The place has amazing cocktails and some really good music going on. Place is small but it more than makes up for it with its large menu of select cocktails and brilliant staff. Khai especially was so enthusiastic in explaining the selections, food and his reccos. He added an extra sparkle to the evening with his friendly manner and funny snarks! Cocktail selection is vast and you can't go wrong with most choices. Photos are for La Muerta and Zombie (flaming cocktail) . Worth multiple visits to try all the options.

The best bar we‘ve ever been to! We went to many different bars here but this one is unmatched! Incredible waitstaff, delicious drinks and amazing atmosphere! The service is truly the best! The waiters are so kind, attentive and help you get a drink that fits your taste perfectly. The only disappointing thing is that I can‘t stay here forever!

Great cocktails and the owner is a chiller

We went for cocktails and had an amazing time. Our bartender, Joep, was the man! He was super helpful with ordering drinks, whether helping explain them or coming up with something new based on preferences! We sat and played Gin Rummy for about 2 hours and enjoyed 2 cocktails each, they were delicious!

Amazing bar with very interesting cocktails and a great mood

A genuinely fun and carefully tailored place that has provided me comfort over they years in Amsterdam. I say that despite the fact that I drink mostly strong and simple cocktails while Tales and Spirits focuses on fun, exciting, sometimes gimmicky and never minimalist drinks. I love the cozy atmosphere and the attention you get. Most cocktails focus on the ingredients and are never a mess and never over decorated, even when a touch too sweet to my taste. Tiki I love and it’s supposed to be sweet so most of the cocktails I get here are tiki style. In any case, this bar is one of the best in Amsterdam and certainly the coziest and most comfortable for me.

Nothing special. The staff is one of the worst in Amsterdam. Quite thoughtful. And they don't really have a reason. The cocktails are nothing special, and the attempt to create an atmosphere from some past times is interesting, but that doesn't mean that the dirt shouldn't be cleaned. Garbage bins by the bar? An interesting addition.

We stumbled upon Tales and Spirits on a rainy mid week December night. Such an awesome surprise. Personal service upon arrival. Coats taken, bottles of water and nibble plate provided and a very unique menu of tales to order your drink. It was one of the best experiences in Amsterdam. Cocktails were beautiful. Service was five star and atmosphere was unique.

Nice bar, friendly and accommodating staff, cosy, expensive but good drinks, free water (big plus) but very, VERY shit music. Such a shame. Find a good playlist!

For me all the cocktails were off-balance. I didn’t like the atmosphere, nor the interior. You can do so much better.

Particularly good cocktail bar + very friendly staff, top service + nice, authentic atmosphere + exceptionally good cocktails and very nice bar + Each cocktail comes with a small bottle of still water (included in the price) + cool presentation of, for example, the Cocktail Zombie or shared cocktails that are served in a small bathtub + also snacks on the menu ! Menu/map difficult to understand at first, but if you ask the staff you will receive very good advice (recommendation: just ask if you are undecided) (-) higher prices, but in my opinion they are justified considering the quality of the drinks & service, as well as the location Overall, I was very satisfied with the visit, would be happy to come back and can recommend the restaurant. In my opinion, a realistic rating would be around 4.7 out of 5 possible stars

Wir fanden diese Bar durch Zufall. Wir wurden herzlich in Empfang genommen, es wurde einem direkt die Jacke abgenommen. Zu den Cocktails dazu gabs einen traditionellen Snack und eine Flasche Wasser. Die Cocktails waren alle einzigartig und schmeckten hervorragend! Nur zu empfehlen!

Buscamos bares de cócteles en Amsterdam, y por suerte esto estaba cerca de donde nos alojábamos. Muy recomendable. Recibido por un encantador miembro del personal que se ofreció a tomar nuestros abrigos y nos encontró asientos. La carta de cócteles era fabulosa y todo el personal estaba a mano con consejos y recomendaciones. Hice que el Zombie... wow... viniera con media maracuyá llena de 60% de espíritu de prueba que se encendió y se roció con canela para un efecto dramático. Muy bien. Mi pareja tenía "hermanos de armas"... una deliciosa mezcla de whisky irlandés Hinch y mezclado con amor y cuidado. Digamos que sin duda volveremos y recomendaría a cualquiera que le guste un cóctel para visitar.

Si te gustan los cócteles, esto es una necesidad para usted. Ambiente agradable con un gran personal bien informado mezclando excelentes cócteles.

I recently visited this bar and I have to say it was an absolutely amazing experience! Upon entering I was greeted by smiling and friendly staff who immediately created a great atmosphere. Their approach was really professional and friendly, which made me immediately happy. There were delicious chilli peppers waiting for us on the table which added the perfect touch to the evening. They were fresh and spicy - just the way I like it! As for the drinks, they were really strong and perfectly mixed. Every sip was delicious and full of flavour, which definitely added to the memorable experience. Overall, I was thrilled with this place and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a bar with great staff, great drinks and tasty treats, check this one out.

Best cocktail bar I've ever been to. All the bartenders know an incredible amount about booze of all kinds and can make and recommend off-menu drinks based on your tastes. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely patrons.

Found this place on Google maps but wouldn't let a group of 4 in because one of our group was 19, everyone needs to be over the age of 21. Heads up for anybody thinking of visiting.

They gave us these cool warming cushions to use since my significant other was a little chilly. I will certainly be back to this place next time I’m in Amsterdam. A not so "hidden" gem here in Amsterdam. Highly recommend to fans of a splendid cocktail. Educated and talented staff assemble fun but delicious libations to entertain all evening. Do yourself a favor and find your way into this spot!

When we went in at first we weren't so sure...ended up enjoying every moment and every drink. It's not cheap but I felt it was worth it for what we got. Loved the cosy atmosphere.

Mi esposa y yo visitamos Amsterdam por 4 noches - 3 de las cuales pasaron aquí! Tuvimos la suerte de que estaba a solo unos minutos a pie de regreso a nuestro hotel (INK HOTEL). Los dos disfrutamos de bares de cócteles, siendo nuestros favoritos los bares pequeños, oscuros y de mal humor. Los cócteles son excelentes, así como el gerente / propietario y mixólogo (demasiado bueno para tener cualquier otro título). Realmente no hay ningún punto negativo para nosotros. También experimentamos Puerta 74 y barra de cócteles 27 - TALES & SPIRITS era sin duda nuestro favorito. Todos mis cócteles estaban fuera de carta, pero mi esposa simplemente explicó lo que le gustaba y cada vez que el cóctel era perfecto. Mi hígado se ha golpeado en los últimos días, pero ha valido la pena... mi bebida favorita es la MUERTE. El menú de cócteles establece que solo te dejarán tomar dos porque es tan fuerte (como con el Zombie). En nuestra última noche después de haber consumido media botella de vino, otros dos fuertes cócteles de antemano seguidos de dos Muertes; huelga decir que tanto mi cabeza como mi estómago no estaban en buen lugar a la mañana siguiente. Juré no volver a beber nunca más pero -disculpas a mi hígado- ya estoy deseando mis Margaritas caseras de Tequila y Mezcal en Navidad... y si alguna vez más en Amsterdam, TALES & SPIRITS será mi primera (y probablemente última) parada. . . . . . sólo vete.

Very disappointing experience. I visited this cocktail bar today with a group of friends, and we were treated horribly. There were plenty of empty tables, but they told us we couldn’t sit, without giving a clear reason. Meanwhile, other customers—clearly from a different background—were seated with no issue. When we asked for an explanation, they just ignored us. I feel completely discriminated against and let down. I’ve never encountered such behavior, and I will not be returning. It’s unacceptable for racism to be part of the experience at any venue, especially one that should be inclusive and respectful to all.

The bartender should probably re-take a course about good manners and customer service. Geez, the attitude and entitlement experienced were unprecedented.

Este es uno de los mejores bares de cócteles verdaderos no solo en Amsterdam, sino en el mundo. Muy pequeño lugar íntimo. Extenso y creativo menú de cócteles con nombres igualmente creativos, de hecho, humorísticos. El camarero es talentoso y amable. Lo mismo para el gerente y el resto del personal. Hemos vuelto dos noches seguidas y volveremos esta noche, nuestra última noche en Amsterdam. No nos lo perderíamos y esperamos volver! El clima invernal frío perfecto para el Abraham Lincoln Old Fashioned, uno de los muchos tipos de Old Fashioned. Si te atreves, ordena el Zombie (no voy a estropear la parte superior de la terminación como la bebida se sirve!) .

I won't come back here again. Every time I come to Amsterdam I make a trip here. This time I arrived at the opening time and the bar was empty. With an injured foot I asked to sit at a small side table for a drink, but was refused because I was just one person. As it is uncomfortable to sit a bar in a cast, I had to leave. The service ruined this once upon a time gem.

I had walked past this place earlier in the day and made sure to return when they were open. I was not disappointed. The cocktails were delicious, and after I ordered bitterballen, the folks there made sure I let them cool down a bit before biting into them. I'll gladly come back again the next time I am in Amsterdam, and I will recommend it to all my cocktail-loving friends.
