The friendliest bar I’ve been too. Everyone was so kind and tourist friendly. Cool and intimate space. Really great way to experience genever.

The bar has a very nice atmosphere and has a large selection of cocktails, the staff is very helpful and friendly in giving advice. Highly recommended for a good evening.

We visited Dutch Courage on a friend’s recommendation. It was awesome and I highly recommend it! Be sure to try the Genever based drinks, as they are local. We tried ~6 different cocktails but my favorites were Kesbeke Martini and New Amsterdam. The service was impeccable! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks for a great final night in Amsterdam!

The atmosphere was great! Service was incredible and the cocktails were top shelf! Highly recommend stopping in for one or more! You won't be disappointed!

Very great restaurant. We only had one cocktail, so I can't comment on the food. But very friendly and attentive staff. The cocktails are different than in Germany but very tasty 😋 and with more alcohol than in Germany.

Wandered in organically from the street and spent an hour or so sitting at the bar. The bartenders were in constant expert motion, cocktails were lovely and original.

Dutch Courage is an amazing cocktail bar where they really care about the craft. The atmosphere is great and our bartender/server Luca was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about all the drinks on the menu. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in that part of town

This was the best pub we visited while in Amsterdam. The drinks were top notch and the atmosphere was great. What really made our experience excellent was our bartender Luca who was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made delicious drinks. I had one night in Amsterdam and was so lucky to find this establishment. The people who work here are amazing, funny, attentive. The drinks were superb! And the bitterballen, get the bitterballen! I was lucky to get a seat at the bar before it got busy and stayed busy. Did a jenever tasting and it was the first time I tried this and it’s so good. Definitely recommend!

Such a cozy, lively atmosphere. And great drinks as well. They have dozens types of Jenever and a lot of great coctails. And they always offer free water to help your body sustain the drinks better, so good!

It is an absolutely fun experience. We had the jenever tasting set, and the waiter was friendly and fun and knowledgeable, gave us detailed introduction to jenever and the drinks we ordered. Later we ordered cocktails which are also interesting in flavor. We were seated in the very back. The seats are small and not very comfortable. We were also ignored by the waitress a few times. She could have paid more attention to our corner or walked around more often.

This cocktail bar is one of the best places to go to for cocktails using Jenever! Their use of jenever and Dutch liqueurs is amazing. The staff is kind and gezellig.

Cosy cocktails bar, with good atmosphere. The service was extremely slow, with only one waiting staff and one bar staff working. The gin and tonic was very good though.

We were there in November and loved it so much we went back the following night as well. Both Luca and Martinje made the experience incredible! The first night we had a reserved table but the next night we just walked in to sit at the bar. It gets pretty busy and the space it tight which really added to the ambiance of the room, but to be safe I'd make a reservation.

Great selection of jenever. It was the first time i had had a drink like this and really liked it. Cocktails were awesome as well. Finally, the service was impeccable! We had constant water refills and a mini packet of nuts to go with the drinks. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere, the pub is very nice and there is a wide choice of cocktails and beers! The waiters are particularly charming, of all ages, and will advise you on a drink with a smile. Very professional, elegant, friendly and hot, a pub not to be missed in Amsterdam to have a good time!

Radek went above and beyond, and I appreciate the shared knowledge he gave on the Genever that I tried. He recommended sipping rum that was exactly on point based on what I explained I would like. The talent and knowledge on spirits was very evident, and I can tell he is happy doing what he loves at Dutch Courage Cocktails. Definitely worth stopping at!

Nice bar with many types of gin and cocktails based on gin. Very tasty. Quite a bit pricey, but definitely recommended for a drink on the Zeedijk.

Best spot for an amazing cocktail in Amsterdam. Local focus so a full bar with a lot of things I’ve never heard of or tried, but they are absolutely stunning. The bartender was high energy and a lot in fun also!

A must-visit if you're into cocktails. The staff there at the time of my visit (a young man and an Italian girl) were very pleasant and helpful, and the drinks I had were amazing. Such a nice and cozy atmosphere too. I got a little too buzzed and almost walked away without paying which I sincerely apologize for, but if I come back to Amsterdam I'll be sure to pay a visit again.

The best cocktails we found in Amsterdam! It is a nice place, where you can discover and taste different cocktails from what you are used to. The atmosphere is cosy, the barmen are nice and funny. We've come twice and will come again! Don't forget to say hello as you enter the bar! 😉

Awesome Genevere cocktail bar I'm heart of Old Amsterdam. A little hidden, but great service, cocktails and atmosphere. Sister bar of the Flying Dutchmen, which is how we discovered it. I'll definitely be back!

Expansive menu of genever and select beer pairings for a traditional kopstootje. Very attentive and friendly bar staff was quick to help guests who wanted something off-menu. I highly recommend trying a few different styles of genever here (jonge, oude, and 100% moutwijn)!

What a nice surprise to stumble upon this lovely craft cocktail bar. We didn’t have a reservation, and it was full but we were sat within minutes as soon as a table was available. The staff was the most pleasant of the trip so far. The menu is a little intimidating but everyone loved their drinks. Highly recommend

Awesome if unexpected gem in the centre of Amsterdam. Good atmosphere and a very varied menu, particularly recommended if you like gin.

I went to Dutch Courage two nights in a row. Very welcoming place and super staff. I recommend sitting at the bar counter to meet Luca, a very friendly and high skills bartender who will make you feel at home and will be able to advise you on what to drink

Mi novio y yo paramos aquí un viernes por la noche - estaba un poco ocupado, pero todavía pudimos sentarnos rápidamente. Las vibraciones eran muy frías y geniales, y estábamos emocionados de poder probar el famoso genever de Amsterdam. Ambos de nuestros cócteles (Van Gogh, Dutch Courage Cocktail) eran deliciosos pero MUY similares. Acabamos quedando solo para una copa cada uno, pero nos preguntamos si habríamos sido capaces de convertir esto en una visita de cinco estrellas si hubiéramos sido capaces de permanecer más tiempo y / o probar una gran variedad de bebidas.

The bald man at the bar made me and my partner feel so uncomfortable - the way he was speaking to us was so rude and just strange! The rest of the bar staff were lovely which is a shame. We have since seen a similar review from a couple. We wondered if he was on drugs?? It genuinely ruined my evening :( Wouldn’t return

The staff was super rude for no reason, I was there alone and two men from the bar treated me very poorly. I think they were racist cause I’m not white.

They gave us some history regarding jenever and they were helpful with drink selection. Perfect english as well as the service.
