No prices in the menu, small beers, dont go here ever. This WILL be a bad experience for you! Came here for a open mic but the vibes were so horrible that me and my friends stayed for max 5 minutes before we ditched the whole idea. DONT GO HERE.

This is my absolute favorite place in this coutry! Great food (i recommend the sweet potato fries, they are ACTUALLY crispy) The drinks are also very fun and different in a way that could make me an alcoholic. Ho and the vibe is immaculate! Obv xD

Honestly this was delish! First time eating here. The food was scrumptious and got myself a mocktail just to try. I'd love to try one of their cocktails next time. They sounded intriguing and the little poems that were under each of them on the menu were a beautiful touch. I'll definitely be back there again, hopefully for a poetry evening and to try another dish. I'd like to add the meat is also halal for those that prefer/require that. As well, they were very understanding about allergens, albeit not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, and as someone who's celiac, I was able to enjoy my meal without concern. The server confirmed with the kitchen as a precaution.

Labyrinth is an amazing restaurant/bar 😀. The atmosphere is so relaxed. They have super delicious cocktails, both with and without alcohol 😍. Definitely worth trying. They aren't standard cocktails, but more exotic 😋. A delicious menu of snacks and food 😋. And the owner and staff are also very friendly. Definitely worth a repeat visit 😇.

Labyrinth is one of my favorite bar/restaurants in Amsterdam. The cocktails are divine (I don’t drink alcohol so I go for the alcohol-free ones), the food is delicious (I usually have fried plantains or sweet potato fries and soup which totally hit the spot for me, but their meals are a real treat too). What’s best, they host poetry nights on Sundays and Mondays (Mondays are open mic nights and anyone can read their work onstage — starting 20:00) and the community there is friendly, warm and so encouraging! Labyrinth is highly recommended for Amsterdammers and visitors alike!

Interesting if quirky experience as we rocked up on amature mic night. So a bit of poetry with our meal. Food was tasty. Cocktail menu worth a good read.

This place is super special. It is unpretentious and yet immensely original and soulful. I elected it as my go to 0lace, and several friend did the same. Oh yeah, and the cocktails are an amazing experience. As are the open mic nights on Mondays.

It was once again a great experience! The atmosphere, cocktails, and poetic recitations were amazing, not to mention the live performance by the musician; all in all, we will be back soon.

The temptation to gatekeep here is very strong, but I have to support the business. 😅 This place has several strong points, but the primary is the creativity of the cocktail creations. Each glass is a real experience (sometimes with small floorshow) and the originality is second to none. The food is also very tasty and very reasonably priced. The owner brings his cultural flare to the food and the drinks. Sweet, salty, spicy, and umami 🤌

Labyrinth bar is brilliant! Samuel is really friendly and welcoming and the cocktails there taste great! I attended one of the open mic's there and was the only one attempting some comedy, but the audience seemed to enjoy it and were very encouraging afterwards. I really liked the atmosphere there and some of the poetry I heard was amazing and really well delivered. It made me want to have a go myself! I will go there again when I am in Amsterdam and highly recommend it, especially the open mic on Mondays. Thanks Samuel!

Absolutely love this place! I was walking back to my hotel starvinggggg and saw this place from across the street. Went on a Monday evening and it just so happened they were doing their open mic night. Was such a treat sitting at the bar listening to everyone's art and such a cool spot to find. The jerk chicken was so flavourful, my spicy cocktail was dreamy with bubbles on top for fun and the plantain was perfect. If I lived here I'd be here all the time. Gorgeous vibe, lovely people and service was spot on. I just wish the portion was bigger so I could've eaten more of the yummy food.

Excellent atmosphere and food to match! The chef/bartender and waitress were all welcoming and kind and it made for a terrific experience overall. Would highly recommend this hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam. Will definitely revisit on our next trip abroad.

We made a reservation for a large party on a Saturday night and literally everything was delicious from the drinks to the starters to main to dessert!!! I can not emphasize how great the atmosphere is in there with great music playing and great art up. Also the service and attention to detail in our group was amazing!!! They were amazing and treated us so well from the moment we walked in the door till we walked out. Literally one of the BEST dinners I have had in a long time! You need to visit if you like great service, great music, and great cocktails and food!

My table ordered snacks(fish balls, chicken wings, fried plantain) and they were okay but not so tasty(except the fried plantain), especially for the (small) quantity and (high) price. Note that the chicken wings are TINY. On the other hand everyone on my table enjoyed all their drinks and the staff was very welcoming, attentive, willing to correct some mistakes, and we even got some free shots on my birthday. In summary, I would definitely recommend for the ambiance, drinks and fried plantain. We weren’t a fan of the snacks but didn’t try any mains.

Everything about my experience at Labyrinth was exceptional starting with the warm welcome as I stepped through the door. The place is lively with people celebrating birthdays and just an overall happy atmosphere. The menu differed from what I’d seen online, but it was amazing. I had the Wouba mbowa and the chicken was so tender! Just enough spice and the coconut rice paired with it ver well. And then there is the cocktail menu. Whoever created these is a top mixologist. Such a range of flavors! I had the Old Satchmo and the The Bonobo's Gland. The latter was a great way to cool me down after the heat of the first and the food. I cannot wait to return and try out more cocktails.

One of the best! the cocktails are truly made with love and passion. You can feel the care behind every detail. The owner who I think is also the barman, brings such a personal touch to the experience. They even pair each cocktail with poetry, and sometimes host open mic poetry nights, which makes it extra special. My partner and I made an activity out of it, we drank cocktails and read poetry together, and it was such a beautiful experience. Every cocktail we ordered was of the highest quality, and we loved every single one. The service was amazing, very kind and respectful, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Honestly, everything about this place is wonderful. Highly recommended!

Incredible neighborhood jewel!! The place is cool and comfortable. The food is delicious. And the cocktails, concocted by Master Sam are outstanding! His cocktails are some of the best, most orriginsl cocktails i have consumed. Yesterday I went to Labyrinth with my friend after a long time, last time was pre-covid. But wauw oh wauw the quality, vibe and lovely people are still the same. We enjoyed the open mic sessions and I absolutely loved the seasoned cassava, Bonoboos Gland cocktail and Elixer cocktail, and the delicious sweet potato cheesecake. I also really loved how it seemed as if the servants could read my mind lol. They were on point with taking new orders or just removing finished drinks/plates. Excellent! See you soon❤️

The food and drinks are, albeit a little pricey, very much worthwhile. Staff are friendly and professional. As if this wasn't enough they regularly host all kinds of performances, poetry and music. You might even see yours truly take the stage.

Hard to top this place in Amsterdam! We got it recommended because we enjoy cocktails but were also amazed by the super kind and attentive personnel and the food! The sauces and spices were to die for. Will be coming back here every time we are in Amsterdam. Highly recommend! We had three drinks each, two starters and the shared main course.

2 stars because the guy was super friendly. Otherwise the drinks were really off we couldn’t finish them. Below average cocktails that could cost half the price outside. Also the vibe was off in the space from the moment we entered. Definitely disappointing given the price point

I celebrated my birthday on March 27th and it was really amazing; the cocktails were delicious, truly amazing cocktails. The food was delicious too. Highly recommended if you want to try cocktails in Amsterdam.

Only been here twice (in two weeks time) but will definitely come back more often. Nice vibe, friendly staff, amazing cocktails (they look great and taste very good). So far I have only eaten some starters, because both times I came here unexpectedly after dinner. The starters were plantain and cassava and tasted very good. I saw some other starters and main course on the menu which I want to try soon. There are vega / vegan options too.

Absolute Favorite Place in Amsterdam! Visited for the first time five years ago and again yesterday. Phenomenal back then and Phenomenal now. The food had us licking our fingers and the drinks were art in liquid form. It is a complete sensory experience. Aroma, Spices, Atmosphere. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. A slice of the islands. Could be my fifth time to Labyrinth Cocktail Should Food & Poetry Bar in the last two-months. It is lovely to see newcomers and regulars alike. Giving the interactive atmosphere, it is easy to meet people and engage, last night was not exception. I met a musician from Dublin as well as a singer from the west coast of Ireland; a poet from Washington, D.C., a birthday girl from Atlanta, Georgia; a formidable-sized man from Idaho; a gypsy jazz guitarist from Virginia; a poet from India; French-speaking beauties from African and Caribbean custom and culture; a poet picking up a guitar to see how that felt for smile and size; local and regional Dutch artists and supporters therein. It was quite something. Many had made their first public appearance. I applaud the first step to take art from the privacy of the page or bedroom to standing before an audience. It is a big leap and it doesn't matter where you come from, your age or any metric you can imagine, taking the first step to share your art and support art is unique and Labyrinth is a safe place to do that.

It's only up to 5 stars, but 10s across the board! Had a great time, the food was amazing, cocktails were fabulous, and the community was stellar. Went on Monday, and it was Open Mic Night, which was doubly amazing. My entire purchase (appetizer, cocktail, and entree were about €40).

What's not to love about Labyrinth? Cozy welcoming vibe. Sam's a magician when it comes to mixing cocktails. You'll find mixes here you won't find elsewhere, including the best alcohol free cocktails I've ever tasted with a real complexity of flavours. Plus food that warms the soul. But Lincie & Sam don't just serve up delicious food and cocktails, they also actively support poetry and music. Their open mic Mondays have given so many a chance to share their work publicly for the first time, making Labyrinth the centre of a vibrant community of poets, storytellers and musicians and a great place to develop your skills in a warm and nurturing environment. Labyrinth feeds the soul in every way!

Even they did not have any wings, wrap and fries serve great as snacks! Rich flavour wrap maybe was to spicy.. The best thing about this place is coctails and hospitality. From coctails descriptions in menu to barmens suggestions everything was beyond expectations. Full of taste, great served and most importat strong! :)

I have been here multiple times and it takes about 30 minutes to get a cocktail because they have one bartender (who is honestly very good). The wait time is far too long. However good cocktails so worth going on a less busy night!

Cocktails arrived late. We learned that they forgot 45 minutes after ordering. and there was no apology or compensation. "Do you still want it?" they asked arrogantly. we will never go again. Answer: Also, We drank cocktails because we came to drink cocktails. You also brought chicken to the table, brought napkins and plates after the chicken was finished. I understand the delay, but unfortunately you know nothing about customer satisfaction.

We had not reserved online, but we saw that it was fully booked, but at 1800 there was still room for us. It was great that we could just go there. The atmosphere is chill, the food is amazing, the kitchen is open, which I personally always like. The cocktail menu is very large, so lots of choice.

We were visiting Amsterdam from California and brought 9 people to Labyrinth on a Saturday night so we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there were three dishes unavailable for dinner (jerk wings, oxtail stew and something else). That was ok until we ordered and then found out there were two other dishes unavailable (regular wings and curry chicken) but the service staff took our orders first before finding out. Dishes were brought out one or two at a time often with 10 minutes or more between them so others were close to done while some hadn’t yet eaten. Upon getting the bill we learned it included an entree we never ordered and higher drink prices than was listed on the menu. We were told the QR code menu had the correct prices but the service staff said nothing about this before or during the meal. We loved the ambiance, the music, and the food we did get was good (except for the beef patties, which were dry). It’s a shame our experience wasn’t great because of the other factors.

Great experience! Very cosy environment and friendly service! Went to have dinner now that Reggae Rita is serving up Jamaican food here - it did not disappoint, absolutely delicious food. I also got a cocktail and it was really tasty and beautiful. Love the metal straw as well, way better than a soggy paper straw :)) Will definitely be back for the events and to try more cocktails.

I was very good with the food and service at this restaurant. My only suggestion is to add the time the kitchen closes to the pop up that allows you to make your reservation. The kitchen hours are listed on the website but it isn’t until after you make your reservation that you see it

Super friendly service 😊 Cocktails to start with were super nice. We had the shared dining with chicken wings baked bananas (ordered twice) spare ribs (my favorite) bakeljouw crockets (outstanding). A perfect place to have tasty bites and signature cocktails.

This is among the top 5 best places in Amsterdam. It's the vibes mostly, the music and poetry nights, it's just incredible. Service is soul, the vibe is soul, and the food is soul... and very original (carribean fusion). And to think I haven't even mentioned the cocktails hahaha! Just a great place people!

After dinner, we craved for a last cocktail and ended up at Labyrinth. Well, a Labyrinth it was. It's interesting to analyze how everything connects at this place. We were too late for the bites, but judging from the menu it could be right up my alley, Caribbean fusion. The staff, judged by their appearance, looked like their own movie in totally different genres. The Labyrinth was like the Netflix, where they all came together. Then the music. It didn't fit any of the characters. Saturday night, almost empty establishment, mellow music, relaxed vibe. Waiter knows his way with eyeliner, because that was on point. Forgot to ask where he found a pigmented white eyeliner like that. Just as the cocktails. 'Boogie Woogie' and 'The Dragons Tale' was the nightcap we didn't know we were looking for. Will we be back? Yes. I want to try the foods and wander through this Labyrinth again to see what comes up to the surface next time.

The food and atmosphere is amazing! Very cozy vibes with nice performances. The cocktails are tasty but quite watery. The glasses are filled with ice and it’s way overpriced for the little amount of alcohol.

I was looking for a black owned restaurant to support on my travels and I am so happy I found this place, amazing food & cocktails! This was my first ever solo dinner and what a phenomenal experience. There were only few people in there on a Thursday night but we all ended up connecting in conversation and drinks with the sweet waitor and bartender. Can’t wait to visit again. Much love y’all 🫶🏽

This place is one of my favorite in the city. The food is always good (albeit a bit pricy) and the drinks are spectacular. My only qualm is that it used to be possible to get any drink on the menu non-alcoholic and now it seems that there are only 3 drinks that can be made that way; which is super sad and disappointing. I would love to see Labyrinth be more accessible to folks who don't drink alcohol; especially because everything else is so wonderful.
