I came here with my family today and we had an amazing experience! The burgers were absolutely delicious, and there’s something for everyone because you can build your own burger. You simply use a little board to tick off exactly what you want. I had the ribs with BBQ sauce, and honestly, I have never eaten ribs this delicious and tender before. They were almost difficult to eat because the meat literally fell straight off the bone whenever I picked them up! I’ve even had ribs in Texas, but I’ve never had ones this good. These are by far the best ribs I’ve ever eaten! Fair prices, delicious side dishes and great drinks. 100% recommend this place — we will definitely be coming back!

As soon as you step into Double B, it is immediately apparent that it is much more than a standard burger restaurant. The restaurant features a lovely retro theme and a beautiful bar, creating a cozy and stylish atmosphere. The burger was delicious and the portion was just right: generous enough to enjoy, without leaving you so full that there is no room for dessert. Highly recommended if you want to eat something tasty and affordable!

We went to this restaurant with high expectations. We entered a very beautiful building. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment afterwards. It started with a watery cocktail, to which I received the response "that's how we always make them" (well, then put significantly less ice in it). Then we waited over 45 minutes for the 2 burgers (1 was delicious, 1 a bit dry). With so many tables around us, things clearly went wrong; the kitchen was obviously not up to par tonight. At one point, we even felt sorry for the waiter who was doing his best. Probably picked the wrong night, if I am to believe the reviews.

What a nice place. You can create your own burger here. They also have delicious spare ribs that fall right off the bone! They have a separate gluten-free menu. The cocktails aren't expensive either, so that's a nice bonus (: A nice place for small and large groups!

What a lovely place to settle down for a while. The atmosphere here is just right. I enjoyed a fresh cup of tea with fresh mint, served on a beautifully decorated saucer with a cookie on the side. The craft beers here are also highly recommended. It is a cozy spot where you immediately feel at home. I will definitely be back.

We dined with a group of 25 and were able to switch to the terrace due to the beautiful weather. Feedback from the group was very positive; there was something for everyone to choose from (meat and vegetarian/vegan, but also options for people with allergies/intolerances). All in all, a more than positive experience.

Lovely place to sit, both inside and out. Staff friendly and efficient. As a burger fan, however, I was somewhat disappointed. Unfortunately, the smashburger here is just an ordinary, flattened burger as well. A real smashburger is truly something else; unfortunately, you see this happening in many restaurants. The menu on the website and in the restaurant did not match during our visit, causing a number of items to be out of stock.

Super nice place, really good food (spareribs are unbelievably good!!), attentive and friendly staff, and a very nice and cozy courtyard! One point deducted: I am not against smoking, not even on cafe terraces, but smoking on a restaurant terrace is a no-go in 2026. As a smoker, just have the decency to walk out onto the street with your cigarette... And the choice of whether or not to allow smoking is a difficult one for any hospitality entrepreneur, and I understand that some still allow it, as long as it is still legally permitted. But what I really don't understand is that every table here has an ashtray by default. That normalizes smoking and encourages people to do it. At the very least, have people ask if smoking is allowed and only provide an ashtray if asked. That will be a barrier for many people and perhaps a reason to go do it somewhere else. Even better, of course, is not allowing smoking at all. Also for the health of your staff...

Very tasty burgers and also huge. The service is good and the atmosphere is great too. It also doesn't take an absurdly long time to get your food, maybe 10 to 15 minutes depending on how busy it is.

Ideal for groups, outings, or a quick bite for two. Handy form to create your own menu. Don't expect a culinary masterpiece, but it is easy, quick, and tasty. Nice that there is also a wide selection of drinks. A wide range of non-alcoholic options too! Different rooms, though sometimes a bit loud in my opinion.

Very tasty burgers; it is basically a small menu but the options are very good, and because you can customize your entire burger (or spareribs) however you like, it is perfect for picky eaters.

The spareribs were phenomenal; exhale just a little too hard and the meat was already falling off the bone. The burger tasted very good too. The fact that you can customize your own burger certainly helps with that. The fries we chose with our meals were deliciously seasoned, soft on the inside but crispy on the outside, and are therefore in our top 3 of fries we have ever had. Although we were well-filled, our tummies had to make room for dessert, because they were delicious and simply had to be included. The speed of the service was perfect and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy. All this for a small price. We will definitely be back!

A very nice concept, where you create your own burgers using a form. For those who aren't burger lovers, there are also alternatives such as spareribs and chicken tenders. We had a delicious meal, with the only points for improvement being that the veggie burger was a tad on the soggy side and the 'seasonal salad' with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion didn't really reflect the season. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Fun concept to build your own burger... and it was delicious! Also a good selection of beers with something for every taste. The only downside was that the side we ordered was forgotten for one of us, and even after speaking to a waitress who was supposed to resolve it, it was forgotten again. After 10 minutes and speaking to a second waitress, the fries arrived quite quickly after all. It can happen once, but we will definitely be back.

Highly recommended! I had indicated in advance that there was someone with many intolerances in our group; this was taken into account well, and afterwards, they didn't have any problems at all. I would recommend taking a photo of your order, though, because they do tend to make that mistake. I ordered 2 chicken burgers, but I received two beef ones... But after mentioning the mistake, it was quickly rectified.

Dear future visitors of Double B, and Double B team. I would advise you to think twice before coming to this place. It was once my favorite to visit, but due to recent incident I was very upset and wanted to share this story with you. It was night of 14th of February, me and my group of friends(like 5 people in total) were celebrating my friends birthday. Just as we came to Double B, my friend asked the staff if they can put candles in our birthday-friend's burger, because we thought that would be so lovely and we can all together sing happy birthday. The waitress cringed at the request, but agreed to do it. As we ordered our food, me and my friend double checked with the staff that the surprise of candles in the burger will happen. But it didnt :( they brought our food as usual with no candles. Which we figured - maybe the day is busy, mistakes happen, we will ask again. I went to the waitress, explained the situation and offered a solution - pretent to take away the burger (we know our friend would be 1000% on board) and bring it back with a candle. The waitress said our idea is weird and awkward, but still said she will do it... Well.. she didnt... which I was at that point quite upset, because why promise something you are not planning to do? I worked in restaurants myself, I would understand a plain "No", but a lie? I felt disrespected. She ended up bringing a candle in a glass of water and quickly running away... We were very disappointed, also because they told us we have to order a desert ourselves or they won't bring anything. Like wow, much for hospitality! That was the first part of the disappointing dinner, now there is more... Second situation happened in-between, and with a different colleague. I didnt ask her name, but I believe she was blond and tall and that about it with description. When we came to the restaurant, we started with ordering drinks. My partner was feeling a bit sick to stomach and asked for tap water - to which we got a very rude "no tap water, if you dont order a drink" which maybe just came out wrong and she was tired... But then my friend was like "I will get cola and tap water", to which she, very sassy, replied "so if I give you water - you will give it to him?🤨" ??? ¿¿¿ I am all for being the most respectful to the workers, but I swear she was so rude in her tone and the things she said... That really ruined the evening even more, omgg. After a while we ate our food and had our drinks and then my partner decided to order a cola and water with another waiter, but the blond lady came (more like ran) to our table and yelled (?!) at my partner - "you went behind my back and I dont appreciate where this is going? Do you think it is okay?" Like girrrrl, what? I swear I looked at her shocked, because she was yelling at us, because she didnt hear him saying cola and thought he ordered plain water😭😭😭 . That conflict died after this interaction because she went away and never returned, but wow we were down after that. The evening was literally ruined and it was my friends birthday... 💔 I dont think we would come back to Double B any time soon after this, because it is just heartbreaking how our favorite place turned out like this. I am sharing this story with other people - hoping that future visitors will know what to expect and the Double B team might have a talk about this... Thank you for reading this, Viktorija. I am sure that giving one glass of tap water without any rude responses would not break your business down after our group of 5 ordered food and drinks on top of that. On February 14, 2026, I ate here for my birthday, as a surprise from my friends. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a negative surprise. It started with ordering drinks. A friend of mine wanted a glass of tap water, but we were told this was only possible with another drink. Fine, so I ordered a Coke with a glass of tap water. Apparently, that was the wrong choice, because the waitress gave me a stern look and replied, "Then you'll give it to him, right?" I then had to confirm that the water was actually for me. It felt like tap water is something very controversial here. Later, we ordered a second round of drinks from a different waitress, again a Coke with a glass of water. To our surprise, the first waitress angrily came to our table and remarked that we were ordering tap water "behind her back." Assumptions kill the atmosphere. What should have been a pleasant evening was ruined by a comment that felt more like an attack than service. I honestly wonder where this frustration came from; after all, we're talking about tap water. This was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely ruined the atmosphere. We're talking about tap water here, not anything outrageous. Assumptions and such a tone towards guests are really not okay, and this is coming from someone who worked in the hospitality industry for years. My last time here. Edit Owner's response "The friend's solution, which was to order a glass of water with his Coke and give it to your boyfriend, is (however childish) something we do not agree with." The word "childish" towards paying guests says more about your approach than our behavior, in my opinion. We adhered to your own policy. The fact that negative intentions are still attributed to it underscores exactly why the atmosphere changed so much that evening.

Excellent hamburger restaurant on the Weerd, in the cozy center of Leeuwarden. From the outside, I thought the place looked a bit plain, but inside it was super cozy. Perfect location to have a few beers first and then start creating your own burger. And then wait in anticipation for the result of your own creation 😎. We had a super fun evening here. Additionally, the service was super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere here was also very good. In short: highly recommended!

Our experience was unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag. We started in the back room, where the acoustics were truly terrible due to a large group; we could barely hear each other. Fortunately, the staff was flexible and were able to move us to the front room, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, it was quite drafty there. Regarding the food and service, there are still some improvements to be made: Waiting Time & Quality: We had to wait almost an hour for our food. The burger sliders were okay, but the buns were very dry. Furthermore, my dietary requirements (no tomato/pickle) were not taken into account, even though I had requested them. The service was very attentive, but a bit excessive. We were interrupted almost every 15 minutes to ask if we wanted to order anything, which disrupted our conversations considerably. In short: the staff is certainly helpful, but the focus on details (orders, quality of the bread, and frequency of service) could be improved.

What a fantastic and cozy restaurant in the center of Leeuwarden. The service was incredibly hospitable and fast. It's a fun, trendy place with great music. We weren't familiar with the concept, but it's so much fun to create your own burger. It's a delicious burger with fries, and it's also very affordable. If I were a beer drinker, I would have ordered a beer tower. My phone was dead, but Neil let me charge it behind the bar. That's amazing! So if you're in Leeuwarden, definitely go to Double B. Last night was the night: eating burgers at Double B. We had a lovely table by the window, and after ordering drinks, we could start creating our own burger. It felt like taking a test, and we were eager to see the results. They didn't disappoint. Delicious burgers and side dishes that we highly recommend. After seeing the many beer towers on various tables, we also succumbed to a tower. After the disappointment of a malfunctioning dice game, which we quickly got over, we were surprised to see mold on the tower. The hygiene of these plastic pieces wasn't ideal, a minor blemish on this highly recommended restaurant. The service staff's reaction was also slightly disappointing. Update: At Double B's invitation, we returned for the evening. We received a warm welcome and had another fantastic meal. Sparkling beer towers and friendly staff. They just complain when you're talking, and they have beer towers with dice, but if you're talking to a group, they tell you to be quiet. Quick, find another spot!

The staff specifically placed us in the loud section (cafe area) because we were a group of 22 people. They also placed other guests because it was too crowded downstairs, and every fifteen minutes we were told to be quiet in the cafe area. This was our last visit after coming here every year.

We wanted to order a snack platter for pickup at the recommendation of another bar, as they don't serve food. When we called, this wasn't a problem, but when we arrived, the staff member we spoke to was very difficult and insisted we only order expensive hamburgers or spare ribs because that was easier for them. While a group in front of us could have ordered a platter. So we waited for nothing and walked away.

Tonight, the four of us had a wonderful time at DoubleB. The dishes were served just like you'd expect at a 5* restaurant. DoubleB is famous for its specialty burgers, where you can add all the toppings yourself. It's not just a casual dining experience. When you go to DoubleB, you experience a true taste sensation with every dish. The staff is incredibly attentive, and no question is too much trouble for them. The tables are spacious and comfortably arranged, so you can truly enjoy yourself. If you want to take control of your own delicious burger or one of the other dishes, there's DoubleB, a specialist in Leeuwarden. My compliments to the crew and chefs.

Oh man, I've never had such a delicious meal as at Double B. I could even say that eating a burger like that is 10x better than having an orgasm. The rumor that you can eat the best burgers ever here is absolutely true. Only a 4/5 for the service, because we didn't get any beer!! It might be because we're 17, but oh well, we'll take it. To our surprise, the meat just slid right off the bone. My friend's shirt even got a nice souvenir from it, worldly! Above all, this is just a great place🤙🏻🍻

Yesterday I ate at your top restaurant with two friends. We had a burger and spare ribs and fries, all the products were super tasty, the atmosphere was also great, nice service, we will definitely come back here.

The veggie burger here is amazing! The staff is always friendly and the food comes quickly. The food is also delicious! The sweet potato fries and onion rings are highly recommended. And don't forget those delicious cocktails, all for a really good price!
