Douwe Egberts Café in Centrum

Located in the center of Eindhoven, a stone's throw from Markt square. It's worth it just for the sake of looking at the place, carefully crafted in a modern style. We had an Italian breakfast (coffee milk, cappuccino, chocolate cake and apple pie). All very good and fresh. Prices in line for Holland, expensive compared to Italy. On average 4.5 euros for each product purchased, 18 euros and change for breakfast

I had high expectations for the Douwe Egberts Café in Eindhoven, but my experience was downright disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt cold and uninviting. The interior looks outdated and lacks the warm, inviting ambiance you would expect from a coffee shop. The staff was disinterested and unfriendly. When I finally managed to get the attention of an employee, I was met with an uninspired look and an uninterested attitude. Ordering took far too long, even though it was not busy at all. When my coffee was finally served, it was lukewarm and watery, definitely not the quality you would expect from a brand like Douwe Egberts. In addition, the price-quality ratio was far below par. For a simple cappuccino I paid an amount you would expect at a luxury coffee shop, but the taste was bland and the foam layer soft. The cake I ordered with it was also dry and did not seem fresh. The most annoying thing of all was the state of the café itself. The tables were dirty, there were used cups everywhere and no one seemed to be responsible for cleaning. The toilets were downright filthy and smelled unpleasant, which further ruined the overall experience. I expected much better from a café that bears the name of Douwe Egberts. This visit was a waste of money and time. For a good cup of coffee in a pleasant atmosphere I highly recommend going somewhere else. I will definitely never come back here.

Food and drinks are very good. Fast internet, calm environment, plenty of sockets, a great place to listen to music and work.

Great coffee and delicious pastries. I liked that there is a special coffee, not just the usual one. They cook very quickly, and there is a convenient QR code ordering system. The interior of the cafe is very beautiful, there are many places. Thank you 🌸

Very nice place, with industrial character. Good coffee and tasty muffin, but in a half empty place we had to wait exactly 20 minutes for 2 cups. Order was placed on the table with a measured 'Here you go'. No spoons, napkin for the muffin or instructions where to find sugar or milk. Staff was mainly giggling and on their phones, so that tables and dirty dishes were not cleared and/or sugar, milk etc. were not refilled. And then the toilets: downright filthy! Toilet paper everywhere on the floor, overflowing garbage bins, no paper towels and an incredibly dirty hand dryer. Yuck! Too bad for such a nice place. I would say: put someone in charge and fix things up, otherwise it will never be anything again...

A girl brings coffee with a wip-cream without a spoon and straw) when I asked if it's possible to get . She said in a rude way go down stairs and take it. 🫩🥹 It's first time the happened here with me. Before worked for the great people.

Nice looking place, you can order via your phone. We did that and even though the place was half empty we had to wait more than twenty minutes for two coffees and a muffin. The toilets were dirty, lots of paper on the floor but unfortunately no paper to dry your hands. It's a shame that such poor service is provided in such a beautiful business.

A lot of dirty tables, uncomfortable atmosphere, cheesecake was frozen (literally was with the ice), coffee was not the best 3/5. The prices are too high for such poor quality.

You pay 9 euros for a “sandwich” which is actually a simple sandwich. Price way too high for the quality you get. We then had to wait another 45 minutes before we got those sandwiches. The bad thing is that it wasn't even busy. Never coming back there again, slow services.

Feels more like a public library than a cozy coffee bar. It also took about 30 minutes for our coffee to arrive. Prices also too high for my taste

My overall experience was great, the staff were really nice and respectful, the food was also good, especially dark chocolate cookie, BUT…. There was one specific, annoying customer who left me feeling uncomfortable and ruined the atmosphere. He was constantly walking around the cafe and talking with the workers while they were clearly busy. At one point he even came up to my table to talk. I couldn’t focus on my work and it was just irritating. Nevertheless, I would recommend this cafe and 100% will come back👍🏻

Great coffee, but quite a cold intention

Horribly slow service. Even 25 minutes after making the order, my drink was still not delivered. This was pointed out by other reviewers as well, so appears to be a chronic problem. Please take your money somewhere where it is better appreciated!

Really nice coffee! I went with my mom a few times, we had also the cheesecake and the vegan brownie! Amazing! You should try both for sure!

Unfortunately we had no hot coffee on Saturday afternoon. Hygiene staff/preparation was really bad. Shame

Way too expensive! 2 small cappuccino’s 8.40…a lot better coffee places in the neighborhood. And we had to wait for 35 minutes…never again.

There seems to be no system behind the bar, dirty things everywhere, empty cartons of milk and a big mess. Management works their ears off their heads but without a clear plan and cooperation. This means it takes a very long time before you get something to drink

I regularly come here to study, the food and drinks are a bit on the pricey side. But a very pleasant study place.

One of the best places to grab a bite and do some work in the city. The opening times and quick service are brilliant. The coffee could be nicer but I still have it everytime I go there.

I drank gingerbread cappuccino. As someone who doesn't like sweet coffee, I found it enjoyable. The environment is ideal for relaxing and unwinding.

We visited on a Monday during the holidays. We felt bad for the people behind the counter. As if the management had purposefully not hired more than 3-4 people to save money. For such a target medium sized place we had to wait more than 30 minutes in the line. And the poor employees were running around non stop. Otherwise, good food, coffee and service.

I came here whenever I visit Eindhoven. It’s a very cozy spot to spend your time with friends in city centre. Before making the payment, I changed my order from americano to gingerbread cappuccino this morning. But other employee had already started to prepare Americano since he heard americano first. The cappuccino picture was so tempting and a bit pricey (6 euro). When I approached the bar to appreciate taste of my drink, they offered me the cancelled Americano too. I gratefully accepted it! The stuff is quite kind and nice, however they’re not enough to take care of cleaning during the day. I came back to this place during the day, the toilet was not enough clean. I think it’s a management problem. The stuff cannot control both orders and cleaning at the same time. I love the atmosphere and design! It creates a nice environment to read a book!

Coffee and food are always good. The staff is very efficient. Clearly they are always short staffed which can make your order tale too long.

We had to wait half an hour for our drinks and the staff was not nice and very easy going... we couldn't even smile. The tray of drinks was placed on our table and she walked away without saying anything. Very strange situation.

Nice atmosphere and definitely recommended. Delicious food, delicious coffee. Nice friendly staff. The toilets are clean and tidy. Lots of visitors due to Glow, but clean despite the crowds. €0.50 for the toilet, but I am willing to pay that for a clean toilet.

I had a nice lunch with my sons. Staff was very friendly and we were helped quickly. The building looks nice, spacious and clean. The cleaner was still cleaning in the morning. Toilets also looked tip top. I will definitely come back again.

Went for a coffee on a Saturday, the coffee was very tasty, but the hygiene was very poor, the staff had their hands on everything, and even licked the whipped cream that had spilled off their hands and just continued working, you You can see it in the photo, there was a lot of dust on the pipes that haven't been cleaned for a long time. Where they work above doesn't seem that nice in your drink or food. The toilets were also extremely dirty for which you also had to pay €0.50 cents. Very expensive tent, will not recommend it to my friends. A point they should pay attention to!

Delicious coffee, delicious cakes, but the service is a disaster every time! Confusion, they don't know how to use the computer, and preparing coffee takes up to 15 minutes!

This is not baristas’ or waiters’ fault, but the cafe is severely understaffed. Saturday afternoon, the tables are filled at 40% and we’re waiting for an hour for our sandwiches and coffee. We don’t get a cutlery and the waiter says “sorry, we don’t have a cutlery, we’re very busy” and goes away. I had to go to another customer and ask him if he uses cutlery or not – this has never happened in my life. Hire more people or close off sections of cafe if you can’t serve them properly.

Food was fine, but waiting 40 minutes for breakfast is ridiculous, especially if you have made a reservation and there is only 1 other couple inside. Also really not wheelchair accessible, doors too narrow, a normal wheelchair won't fit through

Very spacious location for tasty coffee with some extras and possible workplace with WiFi. Breakfast board is very tasty, extensive and quite a lot. But service / kitchen is not designed for the larger crowd. We had to wait 45 minutes for the 2 breakfast boards to be ready. And just after 10 a.m. the stock ran out and there were no more breakfast boards to deliver.

Today we ordered 2 coffees via QR code and we waited for 20 minutes. I told the employees that i want the order takeaway because i was in hurry and they told me that i need to wait 2 minutes but even after 3 minutes the order was not done. I just left without coffee and money

Waiting half an hour for ordered coffee. When this is indicated to employees, they shrug their shoulders and act as if it is the most normal thing in the world.

Great place. Very homely and good place to work with your laptop. However, I think the radio and the playlist have been the same for almost a year. I often hear the same strange songs. If this could be pimped up and updated more often, it would make the experience better.

I bought a voucher for the breakfast platter via Social Deal. It was tasty and nicely served. What I thought was a shame is that they cannot take special dietary or allergy wishes into account with the omelette because the product is ready-made. That is of course not a bad thing at all, it is also difficult to take everyone into account, but both Social Deal and Dauwe Egberts could be a bit more transparent about this (a missing V next to the product is not sufficient) so that I at least have the option to I decided not to purchase the voucher because I was most looking forward to the omelet... the alternative option of ready-made pancakes that you can also get at the AH were a disappointment.

Order never comes to table. After 30 minutes, we asked and learned that it was never prepared. They told that they will do it asap. Nothing after 10 minutes of waiting. No pardon, no sorry. We get our money back and lost 45 minutes. Very disappointing.

Amazing place to study or sit with friends. We ordered cinnamon rolls with cream, matcha latte, and strawberry lemonade and it costed around €19. Cinnamon rolls were 10/10. Matcha latte was 10/10 very strong flavor. Strawberry lemonade was weak and tasted like flavored water. Service is amazing. Good Wi-Fi but you need to pay €1.80 to study/work here if you don’t order anything. Very cozy and large area.

Super satisfied with Douwe Egberts in Eindhoven! Normally I am at DE in Rotterdam, but since I am doing my internship in Eindhoven (the craziest one), I was at DE in Eindhoven yesterday. The staff is super friendly; they immediately greeted me with a big smile! I got my Iced Latte super fast and the cheesecake at DE Eindhoven was DELICIOUS! I had the pleasure of having a short chat with the manager, a very friendly person! Thank you Sander and the staff of Douwe Egberts Eindhoven, I will definitely come back more often :)

Ended up here during a day of shopping. We had cappuccino (with syrup and whipped cream, thick tip!) and a delicious pastry. We had a nice spot, you can sit there very casually!
