Great place for a cappuccino. Plenty of seating and workspaces. The staff is friendly. Order via QR code or at the counter. I'll definitely be back!

The food was nice and I used to work here very nicely, don’t get me wrong there’s places where u can work/study and the atmosphere is very nice and calm. However, most of the places are now reserved for family which to me is very weird as their target is people who want to work/study. (And you’re not even allowed to open a book or have it on your table on any of the round tables with couches). Also I’ve been here like 5 times and 2/ 3 out of the 5 times they either forgot to bring my order or it just took such a long time. For example today I ordered a chocolate cake with my friend and we went to the counter after 15 minutes, turns out they forgot our order.

A classic example of a coffeeshop with beautiful design, but food and service not up to that standard. Great for studying with your laptop. But you sit at a dirty table, dirty dishes dont get cleared for over 20 minutes on the tables, and the coffee is horrible. Much better choices of barista-made coffee nearby, this one tastes bitter and very low quality. Needs more vegan options!

This is located on a square near Bijlmer Arena station and has been designed to be as attractive as possible by the municipality. In the coffee shop in question, we were able to appreciate how the Netherlands has acquired a new face.

The matcha was very tasty and there is a nice atmosphere and good service, so I give it 5 ⭐️

A cafeteria-style café. The food is overpriced and more bad than good. You can order food via your mobile phone and it's brought to your table. Two out of four items were wrong. No cutlery, no napkins.

Could be a more welcoming place if the staff were a bit more customer-friendly. There were five of them behind the counter, but the restrooms were dirty and messy. The coffee wasn't hot.

Beautiful, spacious, and bright location. Ideal for studying or a quick break from shopping. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant looked neat and clean.

The building itself is lovely, with a wonderful atmosphere that speaks for itself. Unfortunately, the recent change of having a bouncer at the door—asking what you’re here for and suggesting you need to buy something—detracts from the experience. In my case, this was unnecessary and left me feeling less welcome, which is a shame given the charm of the place.

Super long service. They kept forgetting our order. They said cold drinks took longer to make but there was only one guy responsible for making cold drinks and several others were making hot ones. Many customers before us had their drinks ready while we had to wait for a long time. Not to mention the drink taste was way below expectation.

A lovely shop located next to the Zandkasteel in the Bijlmer Arena. The lungo coffee was delicious and wonderfully flavorful. Unfortunately, the shop had trays everywhere with empty plates and cups, which was really not clean. There were only two restrooms for men and women combined, one of which was out of service and the other in use for extended periods. We ended up going elsewhere. It's a shame, such a lovely, spacious shop.

I used to go there all the time, both for coffee and as a workplace. We would sit and while working, we would order things once in a while. But now, they have hired a bouncer that walks around and watches people and asks them to order something ‘in the next five minutes’. I understand that they wanted to change the concept of their cafe from workplace/cafe to just cafe, but they could have achieved this by a notice on the wall. I don’t like being watched like this. I will not go there any more.

This café has pretty reasonable prices and a large welcoming working space with a nice ambiance :)

I regularly work at DE. It's not the place for the food; other DE restaurants offer much better menus, and the service is completely neutral. In my opinion, the tables stay dirty for too long. But the staff is certainly friendly. I assume they're short-staffed. But it's a great place to work/study, so I'll always come back.

What a wonderful place, modern and especially welcoming for young people. I saw what the younger generation is doing there; the screen is the number one thing in their lives. Ninety percent were staring at it. It's a shame, I also understand that coffee, etc., is quite expensive there.

This used to be the only place in the area where one could stay and work late while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Now it closes early, which is really sad.

Good spot for travellers to get a early breakfast, espacially while waiting for your check in time for a hotel close to.

I've been here regularly, and strangely enough, it's gone downhill. It used to be a great place, but I don't understand what's happened. The QR codes for ordering no longer work; you can open them but you can't order (they haven't for at least five weeks), and the places to order in the restaurant don't work either. The staff tries their best but seems constantly overwhelmed. You have to wait in long lines to order anything, and there are constant, sudden changes to the opening hours. Get it together, please. This is truly disappointing.

I’ve been coming here almost weekly ever since they opened a few years back. Though they’ve never been particularly cheap, the portion sizes were good and the food and drinks were always nice. However, since a couple weeks I’ve noticed portions getting significantly smaller in both the food and the drinks, while prices stayed the same and service worsened. The staff is always friendly but clearly overwhelmed. The QR code to order rearly works and waiting times are getting longer. I’d given it 5/5 before, but sadly the quality is just not there anymore.

It's great place as meetup point, spend time with friends and colleagues, but; the quality of service is so bad, not even deserve 1 star, working so messy without any plans, so unprofessional! They should get training first before get to the job.

The building and atmosphere are great. The staff looks not so interested. Also the coffee was not as on the menu, and was delicered without saucer and cooking. This is amsterdam. Or is this an Airlines companee? I had a nice time though and it is clearly a place where many people come for work and study.

I can work there well, but I went there yesterday and it suddenly closed at 6 p.m.... I'd like to know if your official hours have changed and if so, also on the website.

1 employee who has to do everything, so a very long wait for a simple latte

The bar staff was incredibly slow. We wanted to sit outside, so we ordered at the bar ourselves. At first, it wasn't clear where the line was going. Then, with only three people, we waited for ages. The hot chocolate was in a cup with sugar residue on the handle. Otherwise, it's a nice place to sit, and the space is open and inviting.

A typical situation in the Netherlands: no cleaners and dirty toilets, with a sticky and filthy floor in the cafe area. P.S. These restrooms are located inside your cafe, deep in the back of the cafe area. That makes the situation even stranger—your cafe is quite spacious, yet for some reason you haven’t taken care to provide a clean and comfortable restroom for your customers. The one that does exist inside somehow isn’t considered yours, and you’ve completely disclaimed responsibility for its maintenance, even though it’s your customers who are using it.

Updates 8th Oct 2025 Thanks for the response BUT I’m not talking about only this month lol Ive been at your place many months but you have always some problem with the stock. And your service is slow and lazy. ————————- They are always missing something. Every time I order some drink for takeout, they say “ no large cups “ “no cups for iced drinks“ “no soy milk “ etc etc I never get a complete drink what I wanted. The manager should educate them and check the stock properly. I recommend to go to a 30ml cafe where next to this cafe. A bit pricey but they are much better than here.

The coffee and tea are fine. The cafe itself is a mess. Tables are littered with empty cups, mugs, and saucers. The restroom is also filthy, with paper everywhere on the floor.

I just bougjt two drinks I got a terrible service, don't saying hello, thank you, nothing not even a smile. Really disappointed and disrespectful. Also super long service 12 minutes for a latte and a matcha..

Really bad experience! We ordered hot latte to go and they handed the hot latte in a plastic cup without even asking if we accept having a hot drink in a plastic cup or not. After asking the barista why it is in a plastic cup, she responded we ran out of paper cups. They should at least asked if we would like to take the hot coffee in a plastic cup or not before taking our orders! Very unhealthy way to make a hot drink in a plastic cup and also not informing the customer upfront to make their choice!!

It is probably the only place in the area where you can enjoy a coffee and a piece of cake after 17hs with a quiet atmosphere. The service could be better, they take a lot of time to take your order, but it doesn't take to much to get it after. I have already visited the place a few times, and will keep on doing it!

3 people behind the bar, with their backs to the public. Making all kinds of drinks. Food is not available today. 16 people on line waiting to be served. The line is only getting longer. The tables are dirty and full of empty plates and cups. What is going on these days? This could be way better.

Paradise for coffee lovers, there is better and cheaper coffee, but all in all a pleasant place to have a drink or a bite to eat.

I always stop by Douwe Egberts Café for my daily oat cappuccino. I always get excellent service from baristas Claudia and Gydo, who answer all my questions and work with a smile. I would definitely recommend it!

I come here almost four times a week. It's a truly beautiful place, wonderfully peaceful.

Cloud matcha was amazing. Definitely recommend to give it a try if you love coconut water and matcha. The chocolate cake was divine. Very relaxing atmosphere.

This is a lunch café where many people work on laptops. We were enchanted by the building's architecture. Despite having lived in the neighborhood for 40 years, this was the first time I'd had the chance to look inside. The anthroposophical architecture is visible in every (non-rectangular) corner. Organic shapes even extend to the restroom. There are various desks, benches, and high and low tables. The drinks at the bar are tasty, but a bit pricey in my opinion. For two hot chocolates and two pastries (chocolate wedge and brownie), I paid just under 20 euros. The portions are reasonable, and the service was excellent. At the same time, filming was taking place in another area, so we were able to quietly admire it all from behind glass. The café was generally busy; I think about 30% of the seats were occupied. You could say it was a pleasant coffee break.

The coffee is fine, nothing special. Nice atmosphere and a good location, but I think the prices are a bit high. There's plenty of space, so people also come here to work on their laptops. You can really do your thing. I only recommend against the iced coffee; it's the worst iced coffee I've ever had. It was basically just a cold brew, nothing like iced coffee. This could definitely be improved.

Hit my head quite hard against a low hanging lamp when getting up from my seat. There are many low hanging lamps in very dumb positions. Also, this huge coffee place has literally only 2 toilets, one for women and one for men. The coffee is good though.

The coffee is excellent, and it's a nice place. The service is terrible... I waited twice for 5 minutes to order coffee without a single glance or response (even though there were two employees). When I then asked if I could order something, I was told: "I'm busy making a coffee." They have a LOT to learn here about service and the hospitality industry.

While preparing the coffee, the employee rubbed her nose and continued working. After a calm comment about this, she rubbed her hand and continued working. The coffee spoons offered were dirty. After indicating this, the employee took new spoons, looked at them and the briars went back in the bin. Expected better service. Certainly for the price

3 ladies behind the counter, open kitchen, counter or whatever you call it in fancy terms. The work pace was also adjusted to that. Nowadays, making a coffee seems like rocket science, but that is already evident from the choice to put it together. Clearly in panic because several single-person orders were placed and also a certain type of milk was no longer in stock. Well, I enjoyed myself immensely with this piece of free theater and after 21 minutes I was chilling on the sofa with a lungo and a latte macchiato (not oat milk, but almond milk (stock issue))....... Oh well, you feel at home where you drink Douwe Egberts!

Lovely to have a coffee. Terrace and many tables inside. Tasty sandwiches, cake and lemonade. Coffee is nice and hot. Café is in old ING building, which is interesting in terms of architecture. Sufficient space to work. Disadvantage: only 2 toilets. On busy days, during concerts in Ziggo, there are too few staff. They work hard but can't handle the queue. When we were there, there were 3 staff members. They were particularly friendly, spoke good English and apologized that a To Go cup was given, the dishes were impossible to keep up with. Remarkably few staff compared to the smaller coffee shops around the corner. We were a bit shocked by the price

We waited 40 minutes for just two drinks and a slice of cake, and we had to remind them about our order, otherwise, they wouldn’t have brought it to our table. It's only a good place for students.

Has a lot of places to sit and study, you can get discount cards if you are a student! However its hard to find a spot with a plug and is always full.

Beautiful café and surprisingly big with lots of really well arranged seating, including sofas so you can get cosy. I had the gluten free brownie which was absolutely delicious, thick and chocolatey but not too sweet. Service was super friendly too and the atmosphere was great.

You can easily order at the table here using the QR code and we quickly received our order. Of course you can also just order at the bar. The coffee was tasty and the croissant met expectations (crispy and buttery). It would have been even better warm. The amount of jam and butter was more than enough. The range is also very extensive: you can order all kinds of sandwiches and flavored lattes. If you want to go to the toilet, you have to go through the glass door to the building next door and to open the door you need a code that you can get from the friendly staff.

I had my morning coffee here after a rough nights sleep and it really helped me get through the day. This place has an amazing, spacious and bright interior. There weren’t that many people when I went so it was really quiet and the bathrooms were extremely clean.

Stopped for a cup of coffee and something tasty. Stood in line for almost half an hour when it wasn't even busy. Tempo staff was very low. Coffee tasted okay, but the hazelnut heaven was not really heaven. Tastes a little coffee and a little aftertaste. Looked cozy and had nice seats. Too bad they don't have a door closer on the outside door. Quite a journey

We came here for morning coffee and we were pleased about the beautiful atmosphere and really nice employees.

I was searching for a place to have coffee and work in parallel. Most of the time, overlooked this place. Recently went there, took a latte that comes with a good portion and they have a nice environment to use your laptop and work. They also have free WiFi, recommended to have coffee, light snacks or dessert. Price is also okayish. Would love to go there again!

Large menu and a good selection of coffee (including specialty coffees), tea (including matcha), and food (both snacks and sandwiches). They also have great and comfortable seating, including power outlets. However, the service is excruciatingly slow - there were two people behind the counter and I think we waited for 15 minutes with only a group of four people ahead of us. When it was finally our turn, the barista also didn’t apologize for the wait and barely looked at us. Only come here if you’re absolutely not in a hurry.

Time seems to stand still, it’s so calm. Very spacious and comfortable. There were also students and digital workers at the tables.

Very poor, brie sandwich with ham had very little brie on it and the quality was substandard for €13.50, ridiculously expensive. The coffee was ok, but then there is no service and you have to pick up your coffee and sandwich yourself.

It was a bad experience. I ordered a matcha with oat milk and vanilla syrup. I often have this at other cafes and it always tastes good. The matcha here was too sweet and really undrinkable. I took two sips and then brought it back and said it was too sweet. The employee didn't really care and she said that was normal because the matcha was already sweetened. Wasn't offered anything else or anything. I thought it was very bad service.

Honestly the coffee here isn’t great. I don’t think they hire appropriate baristas. My cappuccinos are always quite watery and no foam, even lattes. I understand there are usually long queues but I’d rather wait a few more minutes for the barista preparing the right coffee instead of getting some quick coffee.. also sometimes the coffee isn’t warm enough so yes. For hot drinks wouldn’t recommend. For the ambiance and vibe definetly!!

Very cozy to sit. The special design of the building makes it (also inside) very attractive and well-maintained. And they have delicious coffee and snacks.
