The food was less than stellar. The service was borderline mediocre. The atmosphere was bearable.

Great food, great atmosphere. You can sit there in peace. I just thought the price was a bit too high for the quality you received.

Well, what can I say? I think the staff had a rough day too, just putting out fires. Way too busy; waiting an hour and 40 minutes for our lunch is unacceptable to me! Tip: if 14,400 people show up at the start and finish line near your establishment, create a menu with three choices, for example, a carpaccio sandwich, a tuna salad sandwich, and a vegetarian sandwich. Maybe add two soup options, and that's it! Then you can prepare 150 sandwiches in advance, which seems much more convenient for both the staff and the customers! Or close the outdoor terrace if there aren't enough staff. It's a shame that eating a sandwich has now cost us a total of 2.25 hours, or just let them know the wait is long, so everyone can decide in advance if they want it.

We loved this spot! Had the chicken satay, tomato soup, and chicken avocado sandwich. All dishes were made with fantastic and fresh ingredients and the portions were good. Enjoyed a few beers as well. Sat inside and it was comfortable with friendly service (although they were so busy with marathon weekend that we did have to flag down for service a few times). All in all would recommend.

The food (chicken satay) was surprisingly delicious, with real pandan rice and delicious prawn crackers.

The terrace is lovely in the sun for a drink and a snack. The food was okay, but the service was less cheerful and helpful. After having to ask for it, it took a while for the sauces that should have been included to actually arrive at our table.

One word: terrible!! The staff were mostly focused on each other, with no regard for the guests. The table next to us (regulars, apparently) were discussing the owner pocketing most of his tips. It's no wonder the staff don't seem to care about the guests. Absurd. Never again.

Very bad experience at this place. We were not in a hurry and had patience, but were not helped on the terrace. After finally ordering, we get a very meager carpaccio sandwich without pesto. And two slices of bread with cold (read: partly frozen) veal croquettes. While I had ordered shrimp croquettes... Clearly a lot went wrong. Very unfortunate!

We walked past this place and it caught our eye with its lively crowd and inviting outdoor seating. The food was okay better than we expected and both the beer and the cocktail were just as good as we hoped. Overall, the food felt a bit overpriced but it’s definitely a nice spot if you’re looking to enjoy a drink or two. Service was fast and friendly, which added to the positive experience.

Last time I had one of the best nights here thanks to the great service I got from Roy. All drinks were poured with extra love and you can really taste the difference. Give Roy a raise and extra tip!

Never ate here but we reserved per phone a table for a work event for 15 people. At arrival they told us that the reservation was I. The system but they had not reserved a table but we could pick where to sit (in a crowded bar) and that they don’t do reservations in the cafe. Not reliable and not consistent

Just ate. There is an extra on the menu, but you only get ham and cheese for an extra charge. Ordered ham cheese bacon. So 4.50 extra. Fine. But then put bread with egg. And after some inquiries I received a smart comment that he has been selling it longer than I have been alive. Well good luck. Once But never again. I think it's a bit like a scam. Tricks. Not neat. Was everything really that bad? Certainly not. All praise for the peppermint at the end of the meal, which fortunately quickly made us forget the taste of the other dishes. How bad that was! Not recommended. Better go to the other side.

I happened to walk by and thought let's eat here. From the outside it looked more like a brasserie. Once at the table we were served fantastically. The girls at the counter understood what we meant, they saw everything, from what you want, such as sitting by the door and it continuously opening (we were moved) to spilling satay sauce on yourself and arriving with wet wipes. This tent is built on full service from start to finish. We also thought of a simple brasserie with good food. I was with the chef and even he said this food is really delicious.

A terrible waitress who is completely unknown to ABN shows you the door after your order has been taken. We had not made a reservation, which is of course possible if you were told that at the door. Now we were assigned places, we were allowed to order, only to be brutally sent away like criminals. Horrible staff, no go.

unexpectedly ate there on 2nd Christmas from winter paradise! was tasty, but left earlier because of 1 large table with screaming guests who were shouting above everything! Several people complained about those table guests, but were told that they were regular guests, manmanman, if I had a nice restaurant, those guests would simply fly out after warning twice.

Food was ok, but expensive - order fries separately so you pay quite a lot for a main course without vegetables! Poor service, disinterested and 1 lady was in a jogging suit - no sense of catering requirements! Food didn't come right away, you have to ask yourself where the fries are... Not recommended!

Generous portions, great flavors, and a warm vibe. The little things, like having a power bank station and attentive bartenders made it even better!

Dutch dining at a decent price. Food quality was pretty good, but the chicken satay was overloaded with peanut sauce. The ribs are enough for 2 persons (maybe three!) Good hospitality from the waitress - great with kids.

Had a delicious lunch. Friendly service and nice seating on the terrace. Food is always tasty and good value for money. And the fries here are really DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommended if you want to have something for lunch. Come back soon for the evening menu, because it all looks very delicious.

Had a delicious sandwich and was able to work well. The staff is very friendly and there is nice music playing softly.

Went for lunch here and was greeted by great service with a smile and a joke, and wonderful food with generous portions. It was quick and tasty, chips were delicious and I could barely finish my sandwich. 🥪 so tasty!

Delicious food and super nice service

Just returned to our accommodation after a really lovely evening here with my husband. It was very quite tonight, but the ambience was lovely; the music was quiet and unobtrusive, the service we received was attentive and friendly, and both the wine and the food was delicious! Couldn't have asked for a nicer first evening on our holiday. Thankyou!

The staff is very young and very very welcoming. The place is very nice with pleasant music. They welcomed our dog well. In addition to the good beer we ordered a delicious hamburger. Average price for the place. We had such a good time that we returned. Good guys!!!

There are several types of beer on tap. There are some local Dutch foods. It is connected to the bar next door inside.

We zochten een rustig plekje in de buurt van de keuken, achteraan links in het restaurant. We bestelden het hoofdgerecht Kabeljauw en de ober raadde ons aan één portie friet te bestellen. Het gerecht werd mooi opgediend, de kabeljauw lag op een bedje van knapperig verse groente.De friet was inderdaad voldoende. De bediening was vlot en vriendelijk. We hebben heerlijk gegeten.

The food was quite good, the taste was good but the rice was very hard. The atmosphere is the restaurant is very noisy, it is clearly a pub that also serves food, whether that is nice or not is very personal. I personally think that this place is more suitable to visit with 3/4 people than alone or with two people. Furthermore, the people who work there were very friendly, but we had to wait a lot and often. I had to ask for the bill myself and we ate ice cream, but we were about to just leave because it took too long to be asked again. In short, if you want a place where you want to talk and occasionally eat something, then this is a good place. If you really want a restaurant where you can sit quietly, I would look elsewhere.

The apple tart was not a great choice. Koffee was oke. Also the interior was nice.

We had a great team lunch with a very responsive staff there beforehand and during the lunch to accomodate us. Everything went smoothly and the food was delicious.

Ball tent!! We made a reservation for 8 people, but in the end we were dumped in a corner of the pub and we had to see for ourselves whether we could actually sit, we tried to solve this but the staff reacted very unfriendly. We were then offered a drink on the house, but that was ultimately at our own expense, then we left. Pity

Authentic Amsterdam appearance with the atmosphere of the past. The menu is not traditionally Dutch but a kind of selection from the modern international Netherlands. Parking space is limited at this location, but that is of course no surprise. It is not child-friendly either; it really is a place for adults. You can enter with a wheelchair, but it is a somewhat older building and therefore incomparable to a newly built structure. Vegan food is possible, but the restaurant is not specialized in it. The staff consists almost entirely of foreigners, so much contact must be in English. Service is very friendly.

Expensive food of mediocre quality in a cozy place. It is certainly cozy at d'Overkant. But after a family meal we thought: we won't go here again. High prices for tiny 20 cl bottles, the main courses do not come with side dishes, so you have to pay a lot separately for the fries and salads. In addition, the food was of very poor quality. The chicken was not properly cooked (so it was sent back), nor were the beef skewers, and the fish and chips were really of snack bar quality. There was nothing wrong with the desserts, that must be said. But all in all, expensive food, mediocre quality in a cozy place.

We hebben op een zaterdagavond met een divers gezelschap bij d'Overkant gegeten. We vroegen specifiek om de ronde tafel en dat was fantastisch. Buiten het eten, was het ook heerlijk dat de bediening super attent was, ze waren erg allert; zo konden wij gezellig samen eten en drinken zonder dat we ook maar ergens om hoefden te vragen. Al met al werden we dus heerlijk verzorgd in een super gezellige sfeer, heel veel dank voor de fijne avond team d'Overkant!

Heerlijke gegeten, zijn hier al vaker geweest en komen graag terug maar een minpuntje is het appelgebak. Nu al meerdere keren gebeurd dat er nog bevroren ijs in het midden zat. Voor de rest kan ik het echt aanraden!

Decent place for a sit down, meet with friends, located on a busy thoroughfare, however located right next to RAI, although service could be more friendly sorry.

Met ons team van 34 personen zijn we na Bowlen bij Knijn, daarna gaan eten bij d'Overkant. Prima menu voor de groep, keuze uit 3 voorgerechten, 3 hoofdgerechten en 2 desserts. Vooraf afgestemd wat onze wensen waren, communicatie via email verliep vlot. Vlotte vriendelijke bediening, 2 lange tafels binnen, we hebben een heel gezellige avond gehad. Bediening is heel vriendelijk en vlot. Heel geschikt voor ons teamuitje en gezellige tent. Rekening konden we voldoen met creditcard.
