Bless this place for bringing a proper brunch experience to Amsterdam. The spicy margarita is a perfect brunch margarita.

The food is always good. Today the coffee took 40 min and the food took almost 2 hours, even though we ordered quickly upon arriving. After 90 minutes the server apologized, offered us drinks (we just took a soup for our toddler) and said it was the worst day ever, but looking at the recent reviews it seems this sort of wait time is the new norm. I don't know how they could possibly forget our food AND our drinks so something doesn't add up. There was one person cooking in the kitchen. Also the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in like a year. The chef still cooks to a high standard but everything else is a mess and sadly we won't be back.

Waiting time too long for a breakfast. They seem to serve people prior to whom made a reservation or not as others mentions. Some arrived after us and were served. After we asked if the order will last any longer they've excused themself because of "an accident in the kitchen" but asked us again what we've order just to "check again".

Four of us went for lunch, and the service was quite slow, taking over an hour to bring the food. The quality was decent, though nothing particularly outstanding. If you're short on time, this might not be the best place to eat in a hurry.

We had another delicious brunch here this morning. You won’t find anywhere in Amsterdam with friendlier service (or better aussie style coffee) than Drover’s dog. We were blessed with full sunshine this morning so chose to sit on the terrace which is incredibly quiet and peaceful despite being just a stone’s throw away from bustling Javastraat. The menu has been updated since our last visit and includes little emojis to easily identify vegetarian and GF options, which is a really nice touch. As always my little doggy was warmly welcomed by staff. Feeling so lucky to have this gem of a brunch stop on my doorstep in Amsterdam Oost 🩷

Went here with my sister and had such a great experience. We ordered the Give Peas a Chance, the Breakky Roll and a couple of coffees — everything was fresh, flavourful and perfectly done. The Aussie-style coffee is outstanding (and so hard to find in Amsterdam). Service was warm and attentive, and the whole place has a real community feel. The sunny morning terrace is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the weekend. Dog friendly as well, great for our little chihuahua Sunny - can’t wait to come back!

The Drovers Dog restaurant on Atjehstraat looks very nice inside. Unfortunately, our visit in September was defined by extremely long waiting times. We waited almost an hour for our food, and the drinks were also very slow to arrive. When we asked, we were just told it would be ready soon. It would have been helpful to be informed about the wait time beforehand. Due to the poor organization, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The waiting time for something as simple as drinks and food was unreasonably long, and it felt like the staff didn’t care about the delay at all. When the order finally arrived, both the drinks and the food were nothing special — especially considering the high price. Definitely not worth it, I won’t be coming back.

The waiting time was extremely long, and unfortunately there was no prior notice from the restaurant that it might take longer. This would not have been a problem at all if we had been informed in advance.

Gluten free options available. Portions small food ok. 1 younger staff member not trained older lady very forward!!

Very nice breakfast - we had the big weekend brekky and eggs benedict with salmon. Coffee was also very nice. *As an Australian couple visiting Amsterdam I can't say the menu was particularly 'Aussie' if I'm honest, but we still very much enjoyed our brunch. Thank you

Truly a horrible experience!!! I was excited to try this place out, I asked for a table for one, got seated and than ignored. Not only did I feel completely invisible, but it felt as if it was deliberately done by the waiters to test my patience, as if my table did not even belong to the diner? After approx 35-40min of being ignored and seeing multiple other guests getting seated and served, I left the place without even getting a menu to my table. The expierence felt targeted and isolated. Never have I been treated this badly dining out. Both the female waiters where unprofessionally arrogant and nonchalant and had zero sense of service. I don’t recommend anyone going here alone. As you will most likely be ignored or be the lowest priority.

Food is good but the service… our order was forgotten: no apology or anything. Then, finally, offered some drinks while waiting but… eventually drinks were included in the bill.

A great cafe in a residential area, just around the corner from our hotel. Brunch was the best we had during our stay! Great coffee too. Highly recommended 👌

Solid brunch place, excellent ricotta pancakes. It's not always desperately full like some of its competitors because it's tucked away in a side street, and that helps too. I wish they brought back the kangaroo meat they had in their other branch maybe.

Today I went here, food was mediocre. Service is good except for an old woman who works as a waiter (whole face is covered with a cloth and sunglasses on with a jacket on) that gives a strange feeling.

Nice place to have a nice breakfast/lunch. It is a bit small inside, so you sit quite close together and in terms of acoustics that can be a bit much for some people. But very tasty food and friendly service.

Grabbed brunch here with some friends and what a treat this was! The service was friendly, the ambiance inside and outside was great, and the food was delicious (especially the breakfast sandwich). The Bloody Mary was also delicious and spicy. Will definitely be returning!

Definitely my go-to brunch place whenever I’m in Amsterdam ! Everything on the menu is delicious, some of my favorites include 'give peas a chance' and the veggie burger. The coffee and cocktails are always great too, highly recommend overall !

Steak & Fries and Eggs Benedict were delicious. We weren't a fan of the pancakes, they were too oily for us - but maybe it was the way they were prepared here. Service was very nice and the café was very good.

Cozy restaurant servicing up some delicious options. This was our second visit and definitely will not be our last. The atmosphere and service are nice and the food is delicious. I may now be addicted to the pumpkin quinoa salad. The eggs Benedict is so good with proper poached eggs and the sweet potato fires and hash browns made a good addition. This restaurant is dog friendly.

When I lived nearby I’d always go here for brunch… all my life I hated peas but I did give them a chance and now I have moved far away and would love their recipe to make at home 😅

A nice spot for breakfast, lunch and drinks. I had the brekky roll, deliciously hearty if you fancy that. But lighter and also vegetarian dishes are possible. Service is pleasant, accessible and friendly. Enjoy the sun on the terrace, especially in the summer. Highly recommended!

Er is niets beters dan een gezellige eethuisje als Drovers Dog . Harde werkers met liefde voor hun vak . Eten en service is zo goed. Er staat een vleugel , waar wel een op gespeeld wordt. Sacha en haar crew zijn een en al bonken van gezelligheid

Dissapointing and definitely miss the one near Zuid. The service was terrible. We saw a few staff/waiters, but only one (seemed to be an American girl) was actually working and was friendly, helpful, and competent. The restaurant itself is in desperate need of a clean!! The rugs are filthy. I don't think the floors get moped etc. It's dusty and just very dirty. The food was decent although not as good as the one in Zuid. The coffee was tasty though!

I used to go there often about 6 years ago when I lived nearby. This is an Australian cafe restaurant with a menu that is rare in the Netherlands. The store has a nice atmosphere, although the staff sometimes forgets to order. The cake is delicious. One disappointing thing is that there are extreme days when the service is good and days when it is bad. On bad days it takes forever to even take orders. It's a restaurant that allows dogs, so I guess that's part of the fun of the restaurant. Please be careful if you don't like big dogs or smells.

Liked EVERYTHING! Delicious original breakfast, really tasty French fries that do not fall into the stomach like a brick. The coffee and latte were also top notch. Friendly staff, nice homely atmosphere. We want to come back here, so we put a mark on the map! The prices are adequate for the quality and the size of the portions. Well done! Keep the bar!

Would gladly give more than 5 stars across the board if I could! The staff are incredibly friendly, atmosphere is homey but hip and the food and coffee are top notch (if you’re craving good coffee - this place is a must). I had the breakfast roll and an iced long black and would highly recommend both. Any Aussies feeling homesick in Amsterdam must come here for a small slice of home (and anyone who doesn’t fall into that description should also come here).

This is our go-to brunch spot in Oost when we have friends and family visiting (quite often)! The ricotta pancakes are to die for - wish they'd add an 'extra pancake' option, just for the gluttony peepz like me 🤪 They also make a wonderful Bloody Mary, needed on those post festival mornings!

Food was far better at the original location in west. Service was sadly not that good: at times cold and inattentive/ forgetful.

Delicious brunch and friendly waiters. Fantastic meat dishes. Service can be slow when it gets too crowded but that's fine. Family owned. Kids friendly. Update: best meat I had in a while.

Truly a horrible experience, the staff was busy. One was chatting than provide any service. It's like they took the term "leisurely brunch" and turned it into a marathon to test my patience. In the end, left after around half an hour of waiting, before we even got the menu! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere unless you have all day to spare….and enjoy feeling invisible.

Everyone is always very nice, the owner is almost always there and she is also great. I love that almost always you can find a table even without reservation, weird thing in Amsterdam.

Great vibe and food. Can be busy sometimes, but they handle themselves well. Virginia warned us for a backed up kitchen, but we decided to stay. After switching us to a table outside, our food came fairly quick. Which was delicious (Brekky Roll and Eggs Benedict). A bit expensive though, but what isn’t nowadays…😉

This is by far the tatsiest Breakfast and Brunch you can get in the area. The service speed is normal, the service quality great; even when it's cold oustide the waiters radiate the Australian warmth! The allover atmosphere is very cozy :)

Drovers Dog's brunchbar is finger licking. The butterscotch milkshake is a delight, and their Benedict poached eggs are truly tasty. The service is exceptionally friendly, making it a five-star experience that's out of this world!

Super nice brunch place with an absolutely lovely owner. Good food and they even did my special "Classerol" drink for me. The location is perfect with a park and trees surrounding the terrace.

Little pricey but you get what you pay for. Breakfast is enough for 2. Burgers taste amazing. Banana bread is impeccable. And coffee is superb.
